"Gaines Street Pies is a top choice for a great pizza in Tallahassee. The business, started by two local guys who wanted to create a superior pizza, launched with a laid-back, comic book-themed establishment in a college town. Gaines Street Pies has grown to three pizzerias with the same fun menu choices, like the Freaks & Greeks pie with artichokes, Honey I Shrunk the Pigs Pizza with smoked andouille sausage, and the White Sword Pizza with chicken and pineapple in the Heroes and Villains section. Another option: Build a custom pie with more than two dozen regular toppings or 11 premium picks like roasted fig or truffle oil—appetizers, salads, sandwiches, and calzones round out the menu." - Rochelle Ward

Pizza is good, just not my personal favorite. The crust is thin, toppings are great, and the sauce is okay.

We had a wonderful first experience! The lady I believe her name was May was phenomenal. 🍕 We ordered the Caprese and a pizza. The fresh Moz was amazing! 😋 The pizza was cooked perfectly! We got a large pie 1/2 The White Album & 1/2 The Figure Four. My only gripe is that the pizza needs more toppings. 🙁 They were a bit thin. We will 100% be back!!! #pizza #italianfood #yum #eeeeeats

This was a nice place to try. Kid was in the mood for pizza. I wasn't. Fortunately, their pizzas can get so far away from traditional pies, it's basically different experiences on flat bread. This is not meant as an insult, they really thought out of the box pairing flavors and it actually works quite well.

Stopped by for some takeout. Parking was a little challenging but a simple pass around the block was enough to allow a spot to free up. I had ordered ahead and just needed to run in and grab my order. My order was ready and hot when they promised. The crusts are formed in a press which makes the dough lose its structure and makes it a bit chewy. I found that you can place the pizza in your home oven for ten minutes and crisp up the outside of the crust making a delicious pizza even better. Many pizza places sell Garlic Knots that are coated in garlic. These are much better. The Garlic is throughout the knot, making a milder more enjoyable Garlic Knot that isn't going to knock your significant other on the floor when you get too close, yet it has the flavor you expect. We want for the "Not Your Mother's Margarita" and a basic pepperoni pizza. Both were good, both were made with better quality ingredients. Both were made even better by crisping up the crust in the oven. The pepperoni isn't the normal pepperoni most people use. It's a little larger and has really good flavor. I'll be back.

My boyfriend and I have tried this place twice at 2 different locations. Both times, the pizza was burnt. The first time, the service sucked and the kids who worked there were more interested in the 1 person drinking beer at the little bar, then they were about answering questions about the menu. Bad service. They won't be getting my business a third time.

The cheese bread saved this from being a lower rating, as it was delicious. We also got a simple pepperoni pizza since our kid was with us and it was very meh. The sauce tasted different than the marinara we got for the cheese bread and that tasted better than the pizzas sauce. Was also very tough to eat. Jaw was tired by the end of eating. Edit: I had to update my review because every time we thinking of getting pizza and Gaines Street comes up we both cringe and say hell no. I’m sorry but it was just not good 🙈 I really hope they work on it.

Tried this place with my family as they recently opened this location. We had three 10” pies as well as garlic knots. Everything was absolutely delicious and fresh. My father-in-law’s pizza got caught on the chains in the oven and had a huge hole in it. Not only did they come out and tell us, but also made his pizza again AND gave us a complimentary order of garlic knots for the inconvenience. All of the staff was so polite and courteous, it felt like we had been there many times before despite being our first time. I would HIGHLY recommend this location and WILL be returning every trip to Tallahassee.

Great location next to Ology Brewing Co. With good pies and a small bar in the back. The pizzas were great but a little salty. Almost gave 4 stars but the service and ambience brought it up to a 5. Tried their Margherita (4.5 stars) and Pepperoni (4 stars) pizzas. Also tried appetizers such as Jalapeño poppers (5 stars), cheese bread (3.5 stars), and garlic knots (4.5 stars). All very good! I enjoyed the meal with my family. Plenty of seating.
