Mala Pata Opens in Raleigh on May 14 | Eater Carolinas

"A tiny, seven-seat bar conceived by Marshall Davis, focused on a large collection of agave spirits and modeled on intimate mezcalerias in midtown Oaxaca; the goal is to capture the quirky, energetic feel of those small spaces. It will operate Wednesdays through Saturdays from 5–10 p.m. and is opening alongside the new restaurant." - Erin Perkins

A brilliant and vibrant art gallery with a variety of unique and colourful pieces. A large variety of different styles, shapes and sizes. Almost all of the art is available to purchase and makes for an incredible souvenir. Very friendly staff and happy to answer any questions you may have and provide more information on the art. They also can arranging shipping for larger pieces. Highly recommend!

This gallery is a very welcoming place for those wanting to know a little more about the history of arts in the region. Max, the gallery owner, is very friendly and knowledgeable, speaks English fluently, and is open on Sundays, all of which make it a great stop for tourists looking to bridge the cultural divides. What makes the gallery itself so wonderful is that they make an effort to curate the full spectrum of this type of art, so you can see how it has evolved over time and from region to region, along different lineages and with different cultural influences. They have handmade art that blends ancestral style with contemporary experimentation, and Max can explain it at length. It’s wonderful to see a space that showcases traditional arts while cultivating creativity & supports artisans financially & artistically. I definitely recommend stopping by!
