It means "Coffee Gallery..." in the French. So I suppose they sell French style coffees (espresso... yeah?)... I wouldn't know, as I don't drink the stuff.
However, this was the designated meeting location of a certain porn manatee... as luck would have it, nearly one year in exile seemed too harsh a sentence to be carried out (perhaps more on this writer's end then on the intended recipient of such punishment... but who knows). Nevertheless, we came, we (she ordered), and we proceeded to take a number of pictures to indulge her need to find the perfect snapshot (that, and my shortcomings as a hand model reared its ugly head during the whole process).
So... since I can't speak as to the quality (or non-quality) products that this place has available for consumption... what can be said about this "Coffee Gallery?" Well, it was a cozy little nook, one that's very well suited for the TriBeCa neighborhood it finds itself situated in.
In addition to the coffee that it sells, the "Coffee Gallery" sells a variety of pastries (available for purchase to those with far less self control than one such as myself). As I came in late afternoon on a Friday, the pastries were on sale for a significant percentage off the original pricing; it took an unwavering resolve to prevent myself from indulging, but such was accomplished.
If you're into the whole coffee and pastry deal... this is a place worth your time. Also, the apples on the small apple tree outside the spot are clipped onto the tree (so, real apples, on a fake apple tree).
