Galli Theater New York

I recently attended a birthday party at the Galli Theater, NY, located at 74 Warren Street in Manhattan, New York City, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience! The party included a mesmerizing on-stage performance for children, leaving the children and adults in awe. Upon arrival, I was immediately impressed by the cleanliness of the venue. The Galli Theater team takes great pride in maintaining their space to ensure the utmost comfort for their guests. The staff was also remarkably efficient and courteous, smiling at every need and request. The on-stage performance of The children's show was nothing short of spectacular. The talented actors truly brought the beloved story to life, captivating the audience from start to finish. But what made this experience exceptional was the personal attention given to the birthday child. The owner and the actors were directly involved in every step of the hospitality, making the birthday girl feel like the star of the show. Seeing the joy on his face as he celebrated his special day was heartwarming. The theater was more than suitable for many children and their parents who attended the party. Everyone had a fantastic time, and I wholeheartedly recommend the Galli Theater NY for birthday parties and other events. In summary, the Galli Theater NY exceeded my expectations and provided a magical birthday experience that will be remembered for years. My daughter’s favourite place ❤️amazing actors, performances and workshops. Galli theatre is not only fun with all the plays and costumes the kids participate in and love, but also is a great inclusive approach that exposes kids to acting early on that improves confidence and social skills like public speaking. We are so happy to have Galli theatre in our community.

I have two girls who attended several Galli Theater camps and workshops over the years in German. The location is wonderful and the teachers are even better. My kids have done a number of classic shows such as Little Red Riding Hood and many others. We also bought CDs in German for Aladdin, and many other classics which we love to sing to. The staff is professional, talented, kind and offers a rich experience for all ages. Thanks for it all!

Wonderful intimate theater experience for kids! They get to sit up close and interact with the performers. The Ugly Duckling show was very entertaining, funny, charming and sweet. The kids were so engaged with the physical comedy of the animal characters - highly recommend!

What a gem of a place! Barbara and her team created a magical birthday experience for my kids (again) and made them feel so very special. The show they put on was spectacular; entertaining for both kids and adults. The kids were engaged throughout, which is a tall order for 20+ 5 year olds. The interactive dance party afterwards was super fun, as well. Every detail was well thought out and enhanced the experience, nothing was overlooked. Memorable birthday celebration and all the guests were very impressed. Thank you!

Galli camps are wonderful! After watching a play there on a weekend, I decided to enroll my 5yo son in their summer camp in 2023. After his first week, he insisted on doing a second week there! The end-of-week performance was amazing to watch and I also appreciated that some of the games the kids played related to understanding and regulation their emotions. Last week my son did the one-day MLK Day camp. A few days later, he randomly started telling me about how kind the teachers at Galli are and that they also "want kids to very kind even if they are already kind." I highly recommend Galli!

Absolutely wonderful theater company! We hosted our 4 year-old's birthday party at Galli and I can not recommend enough! It's not an easy task to entertain a group of twenty 3 and 4 year-olds and not only was the show perfectly age appropriate but the support from the theater staff (and actors after the show) was unmatched! If you're looking for a lovely birthday party for young kids (or I'd imagine even older children!) Galli Theater will more than meet expectations.

Our 4-year-old child started behaving not as herself after spending a couple of weeks in Galli Theater's summer program last year, she became aggressive, sad, scared easily and unhappy. That was a terrible experience. The indoor portion of the summer program took place in the space which was rented from German School of Manhattan. The stalls in the restrooms had no doors but were used by boys and girls of different ages. Our child felt very unsafe and unfair there. Based on my child's experience, I do NOT recommend Galli Theater's summer program to families with young children. I think it is better to invest the emotion, time, energy, and money elsewhere that can ensure a positive experience for younger children

We went to see the Alladdin Show. It was awesome. My kids loved it. The theater was easily assessed. We took the elevator to the 7th floor for the show. Staffs were very friendly in getting us settle for the show. Theater space and stage can improve but it seem to work for the purpose of people attending the show. Props and stage decorations was a too simple. Overall it is a decent theater for the production shows that's bring performed. But there's always room for improvement. I would definitely return back for other shows with my kids. We see you soon!

Had my kid's 3rd bday party - "a show and a party" package, which included a private interactive show for us, followed by pizza & cake. They were very helpful from beginning to the end. Answered all my questions promptly, gave me recommendations without being pushy. Booking and planning were easy, I really had not much to do beforehand. On the day of the party, they were very attentive - again, I didn't need to do anything logistical and was able to focus on greeting the guests and enjoying the party. The show they recommended for our age group (mostly almost-3 yr-olds, ranged from 1 to 5, plus parents) was Cinderella. It was as enjoyable for the grown-ups as for the kids. Many of the kids had never been to a theater before and some got a bit scared/confused when the house light first went out, but the interactive nature of the show made it easy for the kids to get into it. They make it quite fun and accessible. After the show, they served pizza and then had a delicious customized cake for us. The whole time, the actors were around, interacting with the kids... totally blew their minds to talk to the characters :D All in all, it was so memorable. Planning was so easy and smooth, people were so helpful and attentive - as someone who usually obsesses and stresses over event planning, I was lost... everything was done well, nothing went wrong, so I was left with no choice but to sit back, relax, and enjoy!

I absolutely love the Galli theatre productions and normally this would be a 5 star review...but today they hosted a kids workshop following the show, for an extra charge, which we've happily done on past visits to the theatre. Today it was very haphazard and not worth the money we spent. The instructor, Barbara, seemed very nice but inexperienced with kids and didn't make it accessible for them (aka kid friendly or geared toward helping them to understand the process). Like I said, this theatre is wonderful and my kids love coming to see the shows. We were just underwhelmed by the workshop and expected a little more.

I recently brought my 5-year-old to a birthday party at Galli. The employees did a good job trying to engage the kids during the warm-up period, for which parents were allowed to stay. But then the parents were asked to leave the stage area to go into the waiting room. My daughter and a few other kids were apprehensive about this - new place, unknown adults, etc. I and another parent asked if we could stay in for a little while, until the kids got used to it. Nope, that would be too much of a distraction. Even if we sat in the back for just a few minutes? Nope. My daughter only knew the birthday kid and is very shy, and she decided that she didn't want me to leave her, so she came out into the waiting room with me. Predictably, after 5 minutes or so, she was ready to go in by herself. Was that allowed? Nope. Even just to watch from the seats so she could be doing something other than hanging out with the grownups in the waiting room? Nope. What really prompted me to write this review, though, is that the blonde woman in charge was curt bordering on rude towards me, and spoke harshly to my kid. I understand that places have rules, but this was really a remarkable lack of flexibility when dealing with a group of 5 and 6 year olds, with the bad attitude as the cherry on top. I will say that the kids who stayed in the theater area and participated appeared to have a good time, so this very well may be a good party option for some parents. But for kids who may need parents to stay just a few minutes longer, the only options are to suck it up or hang out with the adults with no toys or kids books or activities for more than half an hour. So for us, not at all a good experience.

I have been to the Galli Theater several times throughout the years...at their old location and twice at their new location. We held my daughter's 6th birthday there and it was a hit! Just this past weekend, I brought my very energetic 4 year old to see Rumpelstiltskin and he said the play was his favorite part of his action packed weekend. I love their current location and the kids always have fun being part of the show.
