This place is pretty fancy. The interior decor is really nice. You have to head upstairs for seating once you enter. Service is good.
Banchan: Why're they all so spicy?
3/5 lotus root- spicy
3/5 pickled radish- hella spicy & sweet for me
3/5 pickled cabbage- so spicy
3/5 some beef dish- spicy
4/5 watermelon juice: They use actual blended watermelon. It was nice & frothy too. Wasn't too sweet, tasted very natural. Didn't taste like any added sugar/syrup or disgusting, artificial sweetener. Also, I don't think I've ever had watermelon juice anywhere before, so it's hard to compare with other drinks. However, in an age of crappy, artificial, food & drink (artificial refreshers, juices, teas, etc.), this was a nice change. I think I'd come back here just for this.
3/5 beef teriyaki: sweet, but not overly so
2/5 calamari- all tentacles, pretty bland
1/5 egg fried rice- very bland
3/5 sundubu jjigae ($14)- I requested mild, & the base was very watery, even tho it was still pretty spicy. Didn't look or taste authentic to me. Also, the only seafood in it was shrimp & fake crab. I expected what I expect when I order this dish at a Korean restaurant: a rich, savory, broth with clams, mussels, & squid too. In terms of seafood variety, authenticity, & taste (rich broth), I def feel cheated. Also, it didn't come with rice or gyeranjjim. I had to request white rice, cuz it's the only plain rice they had. What kinda Asian restaurant doesn't have purple sticky rice? How dare. What cuda been an amazing dish, sadly falls mediocre.
3/5 cucumber salad: spicy for me, but my friends didn't think so. Comes with peanuts. 1st time I seen cucumber salad come with peanuts. Why ruin a fine dish with peanuts?
