I came in for lunch on a Sunday, and it was just OK. I got there right when they opened, and there were already a fair number of people waiting. I was still seated quickly.
The place is all you can eat, and there are two choices. The prices are on the higher end. They have. " Course A", which is everything on the menu and is $39.95,, or "Course B", which doesn't include some of the menu items, and is $33.95.. Course B still gives you plenty of choices, though, and that's what I went with.
There was a lot of food. The banchan, (sides) were good, And were not too spicy. I thought it was a buffet set up where you go get your own meat and sides, but they take your order at the table. You can order up to three appetizers, and three proteins at a time, and then you cook the proteins on your tabletop grill. I ordered the thinly sliced beef belly, the curry chicken, and the garlic shrimp. I only ordered two appetizers, the steamed egg, and the corn cheese. The meal also comes with your choice of white or fried rice. I had the fried rice. The fried rice was good. For my drink, I ordered a soda which never came, so I just had water.
The proteins come, and they gave me full sized portions. The waiter saw that I was by myself, you would think he would give me smaller portions so I could try other items. I didn't want to waste any food, so I didn't send anything back. I did end up eating all of the chicken and all of the beef belly. The beef belly was good, but it was frozen. I had heard that the meat was fresh, not frozen. The curry chicken, you could definitely smell the curry, but once I cooked it, I didn't taste it that much. The garlic shrimp, I only ate one. I couldn't taste the garlic at all. Also, after the first one, I noticed that they didn't clean the shrimp. I've seen that so many times in Asian restaurants. I know it won't hurt me, but I'm sorry... I find shrimp poop to be very unappetizing. As I was going through lunch, my grill was getting pretty gunked up, and when the waiter saw that, he replaced my grill top without me having to ask, which was helpful .
As for the sides, the steamed egg was good, but it was burnt on the bottom. I could definitely taste it. After the first taste of the burnt, I didn't eat anymore. The corn cheese, they didn't even bother to melt the cheese. And I couldn't cook it on the grill, because I didn't have any type of scooper. Only tongs. So I just ate it as it was.
I'm glad I checked my bill, because I was charged for the soda that I never got. Of course, once I brought it to their attention, they immediately took it off the bill. Still, after tax and tip, I was out $42 for just a so-so meal.
Would I come back here? Maybe. But if I did, I would ask for a smaller portions, so that I could try more items. I do like the concept, so if I don't come by here, I will try another Korean BBQ in the area.
