NYC’s New Restaurant Openings

"Chinatown has a new AYCE hotpot and Korean BBQ spot. At Gangnam, $34 gets you unlimited hotpot or BBQ, and a $5 add-on gets you both. But the Division Street spot has something else, too. The sushi here isn’t all-you-can-eat, but you can order it along with other things, so there’s something for everyone." - will hartman

The waitress isabel is very helpful and she’s sweet. PLEASE COME HERE!! You will enjoy it. Prices are reasonable too, it’s not overly expensive. I will definitely be back ❤️🫶🏽.

Had dinner there with my wife and kids. We paid $38.99 for the adults and $18.99 for kids (under 5ft. tall). We enjoyed all you can eat BBQ for a 2 hour seating. Buffet and beverages are included. Came out to be a great deal for the family. You can order 5 items per person at a time. The kids enjoyed cooking the food. The quality of the beef was good. I would definitely go there again. I've had the sushi downstairs on a separate occasion. It's very good as well. Service was good.

Google
Great place for lunch. They have a $20 lunch special as of May 27, 2025. You can add $5 if you want both Hot Pot and BBQ. They have a good selection of drinks and food bar. Which is nice. The ice cream is the old school cups with the paper lids. The food is good. They even help you cook the meat. The staff is super helpful and friendly.

Google
This place has plenty of seating. We got the hot pot and bbq grill combination. The quality of the food is good, they even have all you can eat snow crab, salmon sashimi and abalone (all self-serve). They have different cuts of beef like rib eye & short ribs you order with the waiter. This place is basically self serve all you eat up to 2 hours once you start. Having both hot pot and bbq was a bit much for me but the food was good and the place was clean and trendy.

I was walking by East Broadway and saw the Poster to the restaurant, so we went to Division St as the entrance is in the Division St. and I would say the best walk ever! watch some videos I uploaded, to see what I am talking about. Gangnam BBQ is a Precious Gem. The ambience is +++, and they offer $7 discount on Mondays for dinner. We order grill/ BBQ for very affordable price. The marinated short ribs is my favorite, so juicy and tender. the appetizers are amazing as well, they even have sashimi is so fresh, they have variety of vegetable options for grill. My son enjoy all the meat offering plus they have gis ice cream for desserts. The Staff are all well attentive, they even told us couple of times to change the cast grill even we don’t ask for it. The ambience take my breath away…. so beautiful. I really recommend this place for hot pot and BBQ, it’s clean, fast service, good options, great desserts and great price value. chef’s kiss…

Google
For an all you can eat place it was ok. Fair price. Veggies and appetizer in the back. They even had crab legs when we went. Ok meat selection. Service was fine, nothing special. The place is small. It is quite smoky, wish there was better ventilation. You will definitely leave smelling like bbq. They have an atomizer machine that is supposed to remove the bbq smell, the machine is free, but it did not remove the smell. If you make a reservation online they apparently don't monitor that, so they won't know about it. There was a few people when we were their that had the issue.

Google
AYCE kbbq that includes AYCE salmon sashimi AND steamed crab legs?? In a beautiful place with excellent service? Count me in. We aren’t talking about California rolls. They had salmon sashimi, easily my favorite option. They also have other AYCE things like edamame. General Tsos chicken, dumplings, and pumpkin cake. Their raw veggies and sauce bar for hotpot or bbq are AYCE too! They also have AYCE soft drinks, soda cans and lemonade. Wish they had seltzer, but still—not charging for soft drinks is generous. They have white rice AND fried rice options with your bbq or hot pot. We did barbecue and we ate hangar steak, ribeye, shrimp, and short ribs (galbi). All were delicious. The waiters were so attentive and helped us cook things right. I ate my meat and veg without rice but instead with lots of daikon pickle and lettuce. Did I mention the salmon sashimi? To be able to enjoy steak, shrimp, grilled veg and sashimi in one meal made this one of the most delicious meals of my life.

Yelp
Gangnam is my new favorite hotpot restaurant! I went with a friend for the AYCE lunch buffet special for $20 a few weeks after it opened. It was pretty astonishing how much was included--besides the hotpot, they offered appetizers like sushi, kimchi, shrimp tempura, and lots of other pickled and fried items. For dessert, there was ice cream, fried pumpkin cakes, fried coconut balls, and fresh fruit (watermelon, melon, honeydew), among others. In addition to all that, they had a case of canned and bottled drinks like Wang Lao Ji, soda, and soy milk. Was the prepared appetizers and desserts the best I'd ever had? No. Was the cut fruit ripe? No. But still decent and can't complain based on the price. The hotpot itself was very good. The ingredients were fresh and abundant. There are some items that are only available for dinner, but the main meat, seafood, tofu, vegetables, dumplings, and noodles are all there. I really liked the clean, calm, and pleasantly decorated interior with the booth seating. The staff were friendly and efficient. Overall, definitely a spot to return to with other family members in the future. They do have a discounted price available for kids.

Yelp
Affordable delicious clean and organized Korean hotpot and bbq. They have good seating and tables for large groups and the price includes some appetizers, sushi and ice cream and unlimited drinks. Located on a non busy part of division street - service great too even for novices Recommend pork belly and beef Lunch price very good at $26 pp

Yelp
I finally came here on a weeknight after months of passing by the place and I have to say it did not disappoint. Gangnam has to probably the most thorough in terms of what you can eat amongst the all you can hotpot/bbq spot in the city including the outer boros. Not only are their ingredients top notch as others have said, they have a wider assortment of menu items and buffet items. In addition to the usual cuts of lamb, beef, pork, chicken, veggies, etc. for the hotpot and buffet, they have fresh fruit in the form of bananas and sushi rolls. The place exceeded my expectations by a mile. I would definitely recommend them. The ambiance is pretty chic and modern and pretty spacious overall. Service was fairly quick. I would definitely come back again.

Yelp
One of the cheap all-you-can-eat hot pot / bbq places in Chinatown / Flushing. The selection of food is good for the price, as soft drinks and ice cream are included. The inclusion of drinks makes it better value than K-Pot, which is similar in terms of food selection. The hot pot / bbq option already includes some hot food (gyozas, fries etc) and some sushi rolls. You can also order sushi nigiri separately, I think they are only $1 each. Service was good when we went, all the servers we had spoke English. The decor is also quite nice for a cheap all-you-can-eat place. Food quality isn't the best, but you can't really expect top quality meat or seafood for all-you-can-eat places under $40.
google avatar

Yelp
This is only for the kbbq portion of the menu. As an AYCE, it offers enough variety for everyone ($38.99 for kbbq only). Must orders include the beef tongue, the marinated pork belly, & the frog legs. Vegetables and appetizers are located near the sauce station. Frankly, I am surprised by the drinks refrigerator as it offered both soy milk and Walovie (red can). Ice cream & fudgsicles are available for dessert. Service is prompt and very helpful in navigating the menu options. Our server had to show us how to open the soy milk drink bottles. Bathrooms are clean, but very few. Reservations are recommended on a busy night.

Yelp
We were excited when a new ayce hot pot opened right in our neighborhood, but wanted to wait for them to get out the kinks. We finally decided to visit them today. The restaurant is very spacious with lots of seating and large tables. You can do ayce hot pot or bbq or both. We went with hot pot for about $35 per person. The interesting thing about this place was that everything other than seafood, is self-service. Order your soup base and seafood, then head straight to the back and load up on what you like. There's quite a bit of variety including sushi rolls and fried appetizers. Everything was quite good. We loved the self serve aspect. Drinks and ice cream is also included but the variety is limited. You can order beer and wine for extra cost as well. Overall we'll come back. It's still not our favorite spot but you can't beat the convention or the abundance of seating. Yelp
Such an underrated and hidden spot in Lower East Side! As they are recently opened, it feels like an underground spot that not many people know about. It's really difficult to find an AYCE KBBQ/hot pot spot with such a good price in Manhattan: $34 for AYCE, add $5 to have both hot pot and KBBQ. I had KBBQ and was thoroughly impressed with the selection and quality of meats. They cook for you, and service is amazing, very friendly and fast. AYCE also includes a sauce bar, with some fried foods and sushi. You can pick up any vegetables, as well as drinks and desserts. This really is my new favorite AYCE KBBQ place! They have many tables, and it's great for either a date or a dinner with many friends. It feels classy with the dark interior. They also have a bar downstairs, if you're not feeling AYCE. Definitely go try Gangnam!

Yelp
Decided on a sushi night since it was BOGO on DoorDash. I opted for pickup since it's not a far walk. The food was ready before the scheduled pickup time. Ordered the spicy tuna and the black and pink (which is a shrimp tempura with avocado and crabmeat with black tobiko and eel sauce.) Everything was packed neatly and order was correct. Sushi tasted fine and was definitely worth the price. There are a couple more items that are included in the BOGO such as appetizers, California roll, etc. Will have to come back and try the BBQ and hotpot!

Yelp
This spot opened in the neighborhood recently and the interior blew me away. The design and architecture inside is truly impressive and modern. The staffs were all kind and welcoming. I did hotpot and there were a variety of ingredients to choose from. Seafood and noodles had to be ordered through the checklist menu however, everything else like veggies, meat, fruit, ice cream, drinks, and sushi were up for grabs. Super fun spot, and the food was good and had a wide variety. They also gave complimentary crab legs and abalone or sashimi as a promo. Be sure to stop and support!

Yelp
Chinatown has changed so much. This restaurant is located on a street that was once super desolated. Now it is thriving and alive due to all the surrounding restaurants. I'm so glad this place is so close to the home where I grew up. It's stunning outside and inside. Dont let it fool you. The restaurant is huge and wraps around. Food portions may be small but I enjoy that because it gives me a chance to try everything. Hot pot selections aren't as vast as some places but it is good enough. For the price at $33.99 per adult either hot pot or korean barbeque, it's a solid choice where you get to try it all. I really like that they have bottled beverages for your selection. And it's all part of the all you can eat price! I also enjoyed the complimentary food at the buffet ranging from dumplings to sushi to salads. They have it all! They brought a few sashimi pieces to the table. Great service and friendly staff. The booths are very comfortable. I would certainly come back again.

Yelp
Came here on a Sat night, not busy at all. Cool machine in the front that sprays/satanize your clothes/aura. We had three kids but that charged our kid even though he was under 3 ft which i thought was strange as my kids barely ate. Our bill was around 200 for 4 and we ordered a pitcher of beer. Service was okay, they have a napkin dispenser on the table but they didn't really come to our table to pick up our napkins or fill our soup that often. Food was okay for the most part. We got the tomatoes and pork bone and the meats were good. The sushi was for the most part just rolls i.e. a lot of rice to fill you up. They had a durian dessert but was mostly artificial. They had a good selection of sodas/soymilk and herbal drinks. The only down side is the ventilation, its quite hard to breath and quite smokey in the restaurant which make the restaurant quite hot in temperature

Yelp
This is probably the one of the best hot pot/ bbq places in Chinatown right now. The quality of the ingredients they have are so good. I'd say they blow the other ones in the neighborhood out of the park I recommend the original soup base and the spicy one if you like spice. They had meat, veggies, and seafood available. Also, drinks and their sushi selection included. The server we had for our table was very attentive and helped us bring things to the table. He also checked in on us quite often to see if we needed anything else. Definitely try this place out if you get the chance!
google avatar

Jessica L.

Yelp
Came here to the new ayce place. Staff were friendly. Broth was the best thing here unfortunately. The meat for the bbq quality is not good. Very thinly slice makes sense but the quality is just not great. The staff here are friendly and on top of the things. The buffet of things and drinks and ice cream does not make this place any better. There's better hot pot and bbq around the area than here. First time and last time here.

Yelp
Service was great! Waiter was patient and friendly. It's your typical AYCE hot pot and BBQ, comes with a small assortment of hot food and sushi pieces. We had reservations for 4 and were seated without full party arriving; however, we were rushed at the end due to another party arriving. Wish we were told this before we sat down. Our friends arrived roughly 5 mins after we sat down. Our check was handed to us while we were still cooking and eating. That was a bit disgusting IMO.

Yelp
5/5 food 5/5 service 5/5 ambiance Came here with group of friends on Friday night with reservation and were seated immediately. They have tons of variety in food options from meats to seafood to vegetables. The services are very attractive and come around to skim through top of soup for you. It is one of the affordable AYCE spots. There is sauce section where you make your own hotpot dipping sauce. Also a hot buffet bar to grab something to start with.

Yelp
Service is phenomenal! They recently opened, in early July. Restaurant is beautiful, super clean. The staff are highly attentive, very friendly, and always available to help. Price is pretty reasonable for AYCE, I think around $35 for ayce hot pot or KBBQ We opted for the Hot pot. You can grab the items yourself to cook. They also have an appetizer buffet - spring rolls, Siu Mai, fruits, sushi even! Highly recommend to check it out

Teresa Z.

Yelp
Got the Korean bbq $38.99 and there's nothing "Korean" about it. So far off from the other acye Korean bbq I've tried. The meats weren't really good, they were either bland or overly sweet. Tried the sushi and it had the taste of refrigerator. Service was good, the waiters brought out the really quickly. Which is the only reason I give it 2 stars instead of one. Would not go again.
google avatar

Nick D.

Yelp
This is how every restaurant in the world should be run. We were treated like absolute royalty for 2 hours! We will dream about this place for the rest of our lives.
google avatar

Yelp
the food is sexy and delicious!!!! the presentation of the sushi, sashimi and other items on the menu at the bar downstairs are top notch!!! gives me top chef on television look and feel to those dishes. the shrimp tempura roll, shrimp mango roll, spicy girl roll , duck roll, & the surf & turf are my favorites now; i have to try the rest because everything i saw was looking good. excellent service from the bartender from harlem and atlanta. he brings a different vibe to the lower east side scene!! and i heard every thursday is thirsty thursdays (happy hour for the ladies 4pm to close!) hh on saturday and sunday downstairs as well!!! 3 tvs with sports from ufc, football, basketball, college football and women's volleyball games!!!! and the music had my female friends jamming!!! they loved it!!!! will be back d!!!!!

Yelp
10/10 service very friendly staff got seated real quick. food is yummy. they have hot pot or bbq or you can opt for both for additional. they have an assortment of meats from beef to chicken to seafood to pork. we got the beef and garlic oysters to try and it was very tasty. they have the flat surface grill and add oil if you request so the meat doesn't stick or fall apart which is nice. they have an assortment of vegetables i'm a fan of their fresh red onions shishito peppers and oyster mushrooms. my mom got the sweet potatoes and lettuce. they have an assortment of sushi rolls and their sushi rolls are fresh and tasty. they have ice cream and fresh fruits sliced for dessert. my mom got their sliced oranges. they also have hot green tea and soda in the fridge you can help yourselves to. they even have chicken nuggets if you have kids. and at first thought they were closed but only one door opens so be careful i went and thought they were closed till i tried every door and the door on the side opens. their lunch prices are only for weekdays on weekends its dinner prices which is around $38.
google avatar

Rima F.

Yelp
This was our third time eating here and we remain very impressed!! We have not had the BBQ or hot pot yet because it will be too much food for us. But each time we have enjoyed the bento boxes and maki lunch specials. we found the maki rolls to be so much better than many Japanese restaurants we have been to, including those in the neighborhood of the LES. The shrimp tempura was the best!! Always friendly and excellent service in this beautiful and comfortable place!!
google avatar

Yelp
Gangnam BBQ and Hotpot all are good, service is fine, some delay but I think it can acceptable. I highly recomend is their ambiance is new and funcy. will come back this weekend

Yelp
This spot in the heart of the Lower East Side, with its cozy and amazing decor, is a true gem. I visited on a friend's recommendation and was delighted by both the food and the service. Unlike other buffet-style hot pot and BBQ places, this one really stands out, offering the affordability of a buffet with the quality of decent dining experience. MUST GO
google avatar

Nancy M.

Yelp
Everything is brand new and clean! Service is great - staff is attentive and removes plates as they become empty. The steak for the Korean bbq is legit! So beefy and tasty. Hot pots are individual so you don't have to share. It also includes a hot bar buffet in the back with crab legs, sushi, fruits, seaweed salad, fried items, dim sum, etc. there is a drink fridge and drinks are all you can drink. They also have an ice cream fridge. Highly recommend for only $35!
google avatar

Emmie C.

Yelp
Been waiting for this place to open since they first put up the sign half a year ago. Was really excited to see they have the Korean hotpot/BBQ side and the Japanese side in the basement. The decoration is really nice and the restaurant is huge. The restaurant itself is very clean. Read the reviews about this place giving the crab legs/abalone/sashimi in the opening phase, which attracted us even more. However, when we got there at 7:30pm, the crab legs/abalone were all gone. They only have the sashimi left. We didn't want the sashimi because we had tried the sushi and sashimi at the buffet bar earlier and they were not good. We got the sashimi at the end, and we were reminded again by the management that the crab legs/abalone/sashimi were only promotional in the restaurant opening phase. If you plan to go to this restaurant for these freebies after reading Yelper's reviews, make sure you ask beforehand if these promotions are still available. There's servers to take your orders. But if you need additional meats/veggie/fish balls/sides, it's much easier if you get them yourself from the fridge than to wait for server to order them in her iPad for you. However, you do need the server to order seafood via her iPad, since they aren't not openly available on the shelves. One good thing about this all-you-can-eat is unlimited drinks and desserts, which is included in your bill. To the management, to further improve customer service, I would suggest the servers to pay more attention to diners' soup volume in hotpot. We had to flag the servers twice to refill the soup in our hotpot.

Vanessa C.

Yelp
Gangnam is a new hidden gem! The sushi and service were solid (with a special shout out to David from the downstairs bar). Drinks were affordable. It wasn't too loud or too dark, so we could enjoy and hear the company. The restaurant is clean and even spacious enough for families. It's a great add to the LES neighborhood - great for a local mom's night out, an easy date night or simply when you don't want to break the bank on sushi for the family. There is also a KBBQ or Hotpot on the ground floor (haven't tried yet). Gangnam also has Happy Hour and Lunch Specials (will have to check out). They are still newish in the LES so Gangnam is still running a 15% off special until the end of October.

Daisy E.

Yelp
When I walked into Gangnam I was immediately impressed with the decor. I came specifically for their rolls and miso soup--Lunch Special. I looked at the menu and didn't see it--but it was posted outside. When I asked the waitress she said it was served in the downstairs section of the restaurant. Upstairs was for Korean Hot Pots and BBQ. Honestly, when I passed by a few tables on my way downstairs I must say the food looked delicious. So, we arrived downstairs and it was a really pretty place. Beautiful ambiance and vibe. David our waiter was absolutely fabulous! He gave us the VIP treatment the minute we walked in. We sat down and the table setting was so pretty, I knew then it was going to be a good experience. David gave us a shot of their house sake on the house (ha) and it was very nice so we ordered a bottle. We also tried Soju for the first time. Lychee and peach. They were both tasty, a touch on the sweet side. The lunch special offered 2 or 3 rolls with miso soup. I ordered 3 rolls, spicy tuna, spicy yellowtail and tuna with scallion--yummy. The miso soup was very nice. My husband ordered the Bento Box: Angus beef, white rice, steamed veggies, California roll, spring roll, gyoza. . . It was a nice size portion and very reasonably priced. My husband really enjoyed it! I really like the table setting and the presentation of the food! I highly recommend this place! Beautiful ambience, good food and great service. It's hard to get all three in one place.

Yelp
Their hot pot and BBQ are amazing. The prices are reasonable for all-you-can-eat, drink ice cream, and desserts. Services are quick and the servers are very friendly. Go give it a try.

Tyler P.

Yelp
Amazing service and amazing ambience, really loved the self serve beverages and food/sauce bar. Great choice of meat selection for both bbq/hotpot. Our waiter David was the Goat, absolute top notch service from him. Really fun guy to convo with and very helpful and patient with our group of 10+. He also brought out two mini cakes for a tiny bday celebration, David is the best hands down!
google avatar

Jeff F.

Yelp
first time and it last time too Can do better Food order come out so slow (both BBQ and hot pot) (2 hours limited) Did not refill the soup base Less choice compared to the other Small portion
google avatar

Jessica S.

Yelp
Chinese owned Korean bbq joint. My first and last time I'll ever eat here. The meat quality is not great and if 1 person just wants hot pot, nope - not gonna happen. The entire table has to get hotpot which really sucks.....
google avatar

Yelp
David is the greatest server of all time! Such amazing energy, and amazing server. Gave me an amazing birthday! He was amazing make sure you leave a review for him.

Yelp
Don't listen to the negative reviews, some of them are just the same ppl rewriting the same thing. The food quality is excellent and the place is always clean and well maintained. We live right around the corner and go multiple times a week and we've never had a bad experience. The staff is super attentive and always take care of any dirty plates as soon as we place them down. It gets really busy and it's a newer place so I'm sure the servers are still learning. Highly recommend, best bang for your buck in the city!

Judy W.

Yelp
You can get either BBQ or hot pot or both. We got both because my eyes eat more than my tummy. And it is still on their grand opening until Oct 31, 2024. We got the special snow crab legs and abalone. This place is busy. This is mainly a serve yourself establish except for the BBQ food. They had so much food there. There is veggies, tofu and lots of mushrooms section. Then I guess appetizer section with chicken wings, spring roll, dumplings. A make your own sauce section with soy sauce, hot chili oil, Japanese sweet sauce and so on. Next a sushi section - rolls were fresh. But don't have too much of that. There is the meat section for your hot pot soup. And then you can order with the staff for bbq grill food. Way too much. All you can drink from the soda refrigerator and last but not least i scream for ice cream. Lol. The BBQ food came quick and they put the extra on a little shelf next to you because everything doesn't fit on the table. You have to keep an eye on it before someone walking by try to take it. LOL. Staff was very nice and they keep moving taking all the unnecessary dishes off your table. I really over ate. Great experience. But I'll know to skip the 6 pieces of sushi next time before eating the main food, need to save room. Have fun and enjoy.

Zheng Yuan W.

Yelp
Food quality was terrible. Service was non-existent. Asked for a grill change and instead they took tissue paper to wipe off the chars. Food also took very long to come out and was always missing items. The interior looks pretty nice though so that's that. They have a nice selection of sauces and appetizers except that's all. Meat was chewy and not good at all
google avatar

Xiao B.

Yelp
Don't recommend, I chose Hotpot only there wasn't much options compare to other places. I ordered few stuff didn't come at all. No staff comes to add more soup when my soup is almost gone until I asked them to.

Yelp
Absolutely LOVED the downstairs bar at this place: the bar is very beautiful but especially because the bartender David was so wonderfully personable, attentive and just wonderful. Not only did he personally provide me with a tablet to look through the menu, serve me wonderful sake (at Happy Hour-yes they have it and it's great) but he also brought over another native New Yorke and we all bonded over New York memories... David is a great reason to go to this new and beautiful space. it's downstairs-but worry not- it's perfect for the upcoming cold weather and it's just a beautiful space to hang.

Yelp
Had a great all-you-can-eat hotpot dinning experience at this restaurant. Hotpot ingredients were fresh esp with the seafood options! Our server, David, was very friendly and helpful! We would definitely visit this place again!

Yelp
David the greatest server straight up. If you're in nyc and are eating here, come here and look for David. Service is a 10/10 and the food is solid.

Yelp
So good! Both the food and service were amazing. Things we ordered came quickly, servers cooked our meat for us, and the bar in the back had a great variety of items like sushi, fruit, desserts, and appetizers! Cocktails here are delicious and the decor is beautiful. Highly recommend!!!

Yelp
Really low quality meat, very disorganized service, they did not change the grill and instead wiped it with a tissue. Looks very cool though. I bit my tongue because the meat was so tough. The buffet bar isn't bad I liked the fried chicken and kimchi.

Yelp
Ordered lots of beef but tasted more salt than beef. Ordered lots of food but received little of it. The servers were confused at times and weren't on the same page. One server said she couldn't change the grill and used a napkin to wipe down the char instead. Another server stopped by after to change the grill for us. They walk around a lot but don't focus on the food ordered. My table had to grab the food we ordered because it hadn't arrived the whole time despite informing the servers multiple times. However, the interior, lighting, and design are mixed well together. The appetizers (chicken, sushi) were pretty good as well.

Yelp
If there is a negative five-star, it must be negative five stars. There is nothing. At four o'clock, when I was not busy at all, I ordered nothing. The tofu bamboo bite like a tire. I ordered the bell roll almost three times and urged it twice before going on. The oysters were the same. Niu Baiye had to urge the waiter. The things were either repeated or simply didn't go up. In this way, the experience of eating was really bad, and I won't come again.
