My dad loves this place and it's one of his go-to KBBQ spots, so I was really excited to finally try it out. It's located on the top floor of the Source and I have to say that it's one of the most solid dining options they have there.
Gangnam House is an upscale KBBQ experience, so it's not as loud and smokey as your typical Korean BBQ restaurant. But this spot stands out for so many other reasons too. Firstly, the quality of the meat is next-level. From the marbling to the presentation and the flavor of the meat, it's almost unmatched, especially for the prices that they offer. I also LOVE that they offer half orders, so you have the option to try more things!
My mom, sister and I got their Boneless Short Rib, the Bone-In Short Rib, Pork Belly, Pork Jowl, the Brisket Fried Rice, Soybean Stew, and some Naengmyun (Cold Buckwheat Noodles). Safe to say that we were stuffed and satisfied by the end.
For the meat, the Bone-In Short Rib (unmarinated) was my favorite, as the meat quality really came through on this one. But as with the other meats we tried, every single cut was juicy and tender. For the other non-meat orders, I liked the Brisket Fried Rice, and it had a subtle smokey flavor to it. The Cold Buckwheat Noodles were also a refreshing end to the meal.
Our server (I think her name was Soona) was amazing. So attentive, friendly and helpful. The atmosphere here was lively but still very calm and collected, which I think is the optimal vibe for a KBBQ spot of this caliber. Already looking forward to coming back during my next visit to the Source.
