"The best part about living in the South isn’t the weather, the college sports, or even the fact that other drivers actually let you merge. It’s that the entire region is filled with little roadside barbecue stands that have smokers out back and serve plates of ribs the size of a Kentucky Derby hat. Pit Stop Barbecue on the Dorchester/Mattapan line may be the only one of those we’ve got inside 128, but it’s a damn fine representation of the genre. We stopped by for a smoked fried bologna sandwich and couldn't help but also try a SMOKED EGG on the side for only $1.50. Very reasonable prices. Family owned and operated. Banana pudding too! Counter service with covered seating.

had to finally give this place a try since it’s right beside my house. these guys did not disappoint! we got a couple of chicken phillies and banana pudding. it was all amazing! super flavorful and fresh! thank you, we will be back. :)

First time I went it was amazing, second time was the opposite. Three fried green tomatoes and qtr filled bun isn't what I expect for $16. Atleast give me a whole tomatoe worth, warm bun, and half a filled sandwich. There was alot of fries and a big drink, but that's not what I came for...

This place has changed ownership but the food is somewhat comparable. The Mac & cheese is a little disappointing. The shredded pork is good. Brisket is good too. They offer no dining in. All the food is carry-out.

I have tried this place a few times now to try and give a few chances but every time I've eaten here the food has been very poor. I've ordered a half pound burger now 3 times and each time the burger bun and cheese didn't even make it to a half pound, even the DBL quarter pound from McDonald's was heavier and more accurate. And the only time I have gotten catfish it was so hard and didnt taste like catfish at all, not only that but the pictures they show are not accurate depictions of the portion size you will get. Will not be eating here again

Very friendly service but I wasn’t impressed with the food. I thought both proteins lacked smoke flavor and the sides were generic. Super friendly people working, I’d try again but earlier in the day.

This B.B.Q is the best B.B.Q place that I've ever been to. The owners are very awesome people. The staff is amazing. They do not have instore seating. But do have out door seating. Very clean very professional and the atmosphere is out of this world friendly and calming. They do have ice cream and milkshakes for dessert. Fast ,friendly service. It's just an amazing place with really good food, a very good atmosphere. I highly recommend u at least stop at least once to see what I am saying. I can almost bet u will come back everytime you roll through this part of town.

If it is for me I can give to this place more than 5 stars One of the best BBQ road place that you can try Home made food, the coleslaw outstanding!!!!!! The ribs woaooooo Lady owner we really appreciate your attention If your are driving around the area or if you are at I40 looking for a good BBQ this is the place for you.
