Got there early so could read all exhibits and get around without too many people. Initial building is nice and lots of interesting exhibits that bring the temple to life. Super easy to get around. Really worthwhile visit.

Very interesting megalithic/neolithic site, not a far drive from Victoria. Available drop off with the hop on hop off tour. Entry is €10 per person. A couple of toilets on site near entry and exit. The museum portion is short and sweet but still very interesting with many artifacts from this site and others around Gozo. Some scaffolding still in place supporting the structure but the site is still mostly visible. Well worth a visit.

If you are interested in ancient history of humanity or architecture then Ggantija is a perfect place to visit. The shear size of the megalithic stones are a sight to behold and will leave you full of questions. How did they move the huge stones? Why was it built? Who built it? How old really is it? As you enter the site you make your way through the museum first and can read about the myth of it being built by a giant and veiw various artifacts found around the temple. You can also have a guided tour via QR codes at each point of interest. They provide toilets located in the museum and whole site is wheelchair accessible. Also I would recommend that you visit the old windmill a few streets away first. The admission to the windmill comes with a discount for the admission to the temple. Soo if you are in Gozo I would definitely recommend to all history buffs.

A beautiful little Neolithic site and museum—highly recommended! How often do you get to see something older than the Pyramids of Giza? Don’t miss this glimpse into ancient human history.

A megalithic temple (late Neolithic) with a small museum attached. Very well-arranged educational material for children. The pathway to the monument proper starts as a raised walkway twisting through a Mediterranean garden, well tended and smelling of wild thyme and mastic. A very enjoyable experience all in all.

Last october we visited an amazing site. The exhibition in the museum gives a very comprehensive overview, enough to fully enjoy and appreciate the on-site visit. Difficult to grasp how people were capable building such a construction 5.000 years ago! Lots of respect for these achievements. And also for keeping the memory alive!

Holidaying in Valletta I didn't think we'd get to see Ggantija on the island of Gozo. But I discovered there's a high-speed ferry there that takes only 45 minutes. And it's incredibly cheap too - so definitely get yourself there. The exhibition was very good, and showcased some fantastic figurines. I'd love to have bought reproductions, but Heritage Malta don't offer my favourite ones. 😥 The site is set in very spacious grounds, making for an easy and pleasant exploration. The remains are very impressive, although they have deteriorated since excavations started in the early 18th century. Another site closed by was mostly destroyed by farmers clearing land for agriculture. Still, what is left some 5600 years after being built is surely worth seeing.

There is a really good interpretation centre and museum at the entrance of the site. Its worth spending time there to understand the history of the site during the recent as well as ancient past. The Garigue garden showing local endemic plants is a wonderful addition. There's a gift dhop at the exit for ghose wanting souvenirs.
