2 Dozen of Montreal’s Best Middle Eastern Restaurants | Eater Montreal

"An unassuming name belies an exciting Lebanese eatery in the Concordia University area. It’s a cozy space with exposed brick walls and simple décor, best known for seriously good sauces — their hummus and yogurt-based pita dips are popular — as well as an excellent baklava. In patio season, it expands onto Bishop Street with guests enjoying the sun with kebabs, salad, and Lebanese beer." - Karin Murray-Bergquist

Garage Beirut is such a gem! 🇱🇧 The food is fresh, flavourful, and full of that homemade taste — every bite reminds me why I keep coming back. Their mezze is always generous and delicious, the grilled meats are perfectly seasoned, and the atmosphere feels warm and welcoming. Service is friendly and attentive every single time. Been a loyal customer for years — highly recommend if you want authentic Lebanese flavours done right!

Google
This place was such a great experience. The food was amazing. We ordered 3 things between us. Dessert too. We left full and happy.

Google
Best lebanese I've had! My husband has raved about this place since he lived in Montreal 10+ years ago. We revisited his old haunting grounds, and he's happy to report that the quality is still the same. The chef/owner has been consistently making great Lebanese food. And even recognized my husband! Everything was so delicious. The hummus was very creamy, the fattoush dressing was well balanced, the sojok spices were out of this world, the fatteh hummus was very unique, and the jebneh was perfectly crunchy. We also got the kanefe, but it was a bit sweet for my taste. I would come back in a heartbeat. If you want fresh, delicious Lebanese food with great service, this is your spot.

Google
Walked past this place 100 times always packed finally decided to go try it out and was super happy. Everything was 10\10. Fattoush, Hummus, & the shish taouk were to die for. Had leftover too, lady was sweet and the atmosphere was small and cozy felt like eating in an aunties house:) highly highly recommend

Google
Garage Beruit has incredible food! The depth of the flavor in everything we ordered was remarkable! It’s one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten. We ordered the 4 dips on the appetizer menu and each one had a unique flavor drizzled with the best fruity tasting olive oil. We also ordered the 4 deep fried appetizers. The round darker colored one (sorry I don’t speak French and I don’t remember what it was called) was delicious! The spices in it complemented each other perfectly to create a warm bite of heaven. Then we got the chicken skewer as well. The chicken was perfectly well done, but not over done-juicy and well spiced. Compliments to the chef for a meal I will never forget!

Google
The place is a bit small and crowded, but the food is absolutely amazing, reminds me of Beirut and the amazing food we have in Lebanon

Wow the chicken kabob is one of the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly cooked and the sides paired so well with it. Absolutely worth going just for that.

Google
I had a great experience at Garage Beirut on Saturday. The service was amazing, and the atmosphere was welcoming. I ordered chicken shish tauok and kofta, along with hummus lahma and Fattoush. The chicken was outstanding, and the kofta was quite good. The potatoes were also delicious. Overall, it was a nice dining experience, and I would definitely recommend it. However, I found the prices slightly high compared to the portion sizes, especially for the hummus and Fattoush. Despite that, the quality of the food and service made it a worthwhile visit.

Yelp
Excellent, friendly service. Delicious food! Pleasant temperature so enjoyed sitting on the patio.

Yelp
Labneh was fantastic. Fattoush delicious. And that's just the appetizers! I recommend the dip sampler with the five skewers. I was beside myself! Perfect place for sharing. Great Arak (but not for those with an aversion to anise) We will return!

Yelp
We went on a Friday for lunch and since it was a nice day, we sat outside on the small patio. There's room for about a dozen diners. By noontime, the patio is in the shade from the buildings. We ordered the Dip Taster with half portions of hummus, baba ghannouj, labneh, muhammara. They were all very fresh tasting--great with pita or cucumber slices. The fattoush salad had a balsamic dressing with crispy pita chips and pomegranate. The chicken shish taouk came with large tender chunks of grilled chicken which went deliciously well with the garlic sauce. I liked the seasoned pita corner and sliced pickle. Service was great and pretty fast. I'm glad I finally got to check out this place!

Yelp
Friendly service and great food. As an Armenian-American, I always look to try the food I grew up with and this place did not disappoint.

Yelp
Our Lebanese friends recommended this establishment! It's a cute spot with cosy seating and lighting!! A vast variety and selection of options on the menu! Authentic food, high quality ingredients! We ordered several things for the table to share and were pleasantly surprised that every single item was delicious! Will definitely visit again or might order in as well! I highly recommend this restaurant!

Yelp
I can't say enough good things about Garage Beirut. The staff are friendly, the kitchen is fast, and the food is SO good. I ate here twice in 2 days, once in a group of 3 and once with a group of 9. We were able to try so many different dishes. They have options whether you're gluten-free, dairy-free, or meat-free.

Yelp
I absolutely loved this place! Very cute, cozy & has that homey vibe. The food was superb & the service was amazing! The owner was super friendly. I had Fattoush and Fatteh! I have to admit it's one of the best fattoush salad I've had, simple yet so delicious.

Yelp
One of the best Lebanese restaurant in Canada and the U.S. period and that's coming from me visiting multiple states in North American. Everything is extremely authentic just like it would taste in Lebanon. Everything tastes amazing from the hummus, labneh, tabouleh, to shish taouk.

Yelp
Amazing Lebanese food. Comfortable, homey, and delicious, but expect a line. Reservations recommended.

Yelp
Had an absolutely delicious dinner here on a Tuesday evening and the restaurant was full so I recommend making reservations even for weekdays. The restaurant is on the lower level of an old building and is rather cozy inside. We tried the baba gannoujj, kibbé, side order of fattouche salad, kafta and shish taouk skewers. The baba gannoujj came cold and was creamy and especially tasty with the olive oil and pomegranate seeds. The kibbé was fried crispy and hot and stayed soft and fluffy inside. The fattouche salad was dressed perfectly with a bit of sweet and sour flavours from the pomegranate molasses dressing. The kafta and chicken skewers were cooked perfectly over a charcoal grill. The meat was juicy, seasoned well and had a great charcoal aroma. They also serve it over a slice of pita underneath the meat to capture the juices, and a dressed slice of pita on top which was outstanding. They also serve you free pita which come in 2 pieces at a time. The food was absolutely amazing and service was fast and attentive.

Yelp
Food was very good. Had the Shish Tawook chicken and hummus. The chicken was tender and filling. Good idea to make a reservation as the restaurant is small and looks busy on weekends. Fast and efficient service.

Yelp
Everything was delicious! The waitstaff was attentive, and the locale was cute. We were a group of six. Everyone enjoyed it!

Yelp
First timer. Loved it, and so did my Moroccan friend. Had the beef and chicken kafta (which was very tasty with traditional Lebanese spices), the beef kafta comes with humus on the side. Odered Humus with roasted garlic with pita. The pita was store bought and ok, the humus was tasty and made up for it. Taboolei (sp?) Also tasty. It's not a big place, but very busy place, especially for a Tuesday night. Suggest making reservations. Servers were pleasant and helpful. Try the Mint tea as a finish to your meal (ask for green tea with mint leaves). A perfect meal closer!

Yelp
This gem is a tiny place - make a reservation! Service was excellent. We ordered way too much food (sorry not sorry) and left with bellyaches but it was worth it. Favorites: labneh, baba ganoush and the muhammara.
google avatar

Chris L.

Yelp
Wow, Garage Beirut is well worth a visit. We tried the four-dish hummus etc., plates with pita, which were all delicious. We also tried an eggplant dish with onions and garlic, which was wonderful. We got a table without a reservation, but everyone after us seemed to be turned away without a reservation. The key seemed to be to arrive a little bit early for dinner. This might have been our favorite restaurant in Montreal.

Adam M.

Yelp
This is some of the best food across all cuisines that I have ever had. The wait staff is incredibly nice and efficient. Sitting on their patio and eating good authentic food is what makes this BY FAR my favourite restaurant not only in Montreal, but anywhere. If i could give this 100 stars I would. If you are deciding where to eat and see this review PLEASE GO EAT HERE YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT.

Sem C.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! This small and casual restaurant has some of the best food I've eaten in a long time. The food is simple - Lebanese traditional dishes with incredible flavor. The Sojok was a favorite - delicious! A Lebanese friend from the States recommended the restaurant and it exceeded our expectations. We will be back!!

Yelp
Good quality food . Nice environment, I ate outside on sunny Montreal day . Professional waitress .

Yelp
In Montreal for work and seeking some good Mediterranean because, why not? I already tried Boustan and it was delightful, but I wanted something slower paced and more elegant so I found this place. Here's how it went! Atmosphere/Appearance: Set right off of Rue Mackay is this place. It's all street parking since it's downtown. It's not quite hidden, but it's not screaming for your attention either. It's a relatively small spot, so I highly recommend making reservations via Open Table in advance. There's a bit of outdoor seating and a medium amount of space in the main dining room. We were tucked in the very back corner of the restaurant right by the kitchen so we could see all the plates walking right by us. (It only made choosing something more difficult because everything looked so good. Lol.) It was fairly busy so it wasn't too loud to where we couldn't hear each other talking so it was fine. I can't quite remember what the decor looked like so maybe it didn't stand out to me... then again I am doing this review more than 2 months after visiting. Oh well. Service: Chaymaa took excellent care of us. We wanted for nothing and she was quick as well as efficient. Food: For my appetizer I started with the fattouche salad which is a mix of vegetables, seasoned with olive oil, pomegranate molasses and topped with fried pita bread. It was very good and a light, fresh start to my meal. For my entree I went with the heftiest thing they had (I keep doing that and it's probably why I'm 270 pounds now) the "Mixed Grill". It's 5 skewers in total. It's basically 1 of each other skewers they offer so you get a kafta (beef), kabob khash khash (mixed meats), shish taouk (grilled chicken), shish taouk chili (spicy grilled chicken) and filet mignon. The skewers come nestled inside this pita bread that you pull back with 2 more slices of special pita bread on top. It was A LOT of food and would've easily been enough on its own. Everything was excellently prepared and tasted delicious. Value: All prices are in $CAD. My salad was $9.00 and entree was $36.00. That's not too-too bad, but it's not cheap either. he whole experience was totally worth it though. In conclusion this place was pretty cool and worthy of its grand reputation. I would absolutely come back. It would be very difficult to stray away from that legendary mixed grill, but I'd give it a try. Lol.

Yelp
Food was delicious and the service was impeccable. They made sure my order was correct before I ordered. I felt taken care of. The Mediterranean was was different than the traditional stuff, and so it was refreshing.

Yelp
Operating in a cozy basement dining room, Garage Beirut offered a menu of rustic yet beautifully-presented Lebanese dishes! The dip sampler was a nice way to start the meal and came with four mini ramekins of mezzes including baba ghanoush, labne, muhammara topped with walnuts, and hummus topped with chickpeas, and all of the dips went nicely with the thin pita bread that came on the side. The fattoush salad was a crunchy mixture of chopped lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions tossed in a pomegranate molasses vinaigrette and topped with pomegranate seeds and pita chips. The Kibbe Naye was a tartare of raw ground beef mixed with bulgur, onions, and spices and served with mint and red onions. And finally, we had the Fatte Hummus, a sort of deconstructed hummus made of chickpeas in a hot tahini yogurt sauce topped with pita chips, cashews, and ghee. The Fatte tasted slightly underseasoned, but a dash of their hot sauce really brought the flavors out, and the crunch of the pita chips, cashews, and pomegranate seeds was super satisfying!

Yelp
We are learning quickly that you need a reservation in this city! That being said, we didn't have one, and with a "you can sit here, but we need the table at 730 (it was about 550)", we were on our way to a delicious meal. Service was great and the food and wine were filling! And, they had their table by 7:15. Note, it takes about 20 min to prepare the chicken because it's prepared to order!

Yelp
Place has great food .... period. Fried cheese madness .... tastes like the Greek stuff. Chicken kebab was the most tender white meat poultry I've had in years. Chef is on point. Minced meat, sausage quesadilla-like dish was very tasty with wonderful textures. Pine nut hummus was very good. Top notch. Pita was my only question mark. Came in plastic and was ... meh, OK. Wish this place was in NYC.
google avatar

Yelp
If you love mezzes this is the place to be! It truly has soul, and lots of flavour and love was put into them. There are both indoor and outdoor seating and thought the space might feel a bit limited you feel at home.
google avatar

Priya S.

Yelp
Adorable hole-in-the-wall spot with delicious kabobs. We ordered the dolmas (yum!), garlic potatoes (yum!), and kafta and both chicken kabobs. The olives were a little too bitter for us. The hummus was okay but the garlic sauce was excellent!

Yelp
Very cozy restaurant tucked into an almost semi-basement. It's not obviously but also not hard to miss. Be sure to make reservation before hand because it's a popular place and has seats not more than 30 people, it was full even when we were there on a Wednesday night. They somehow managed to fit a group of 12 people but I'm sure they made reservations in advance. The decor, the brick wall and the middle eastern music in the background makes this place very charming. The menu is traditional Lebanese food and all the meat is Halal. There are some vegetarian dishes but the menu is definitely meat heavy. For a table of 3 we ordered the Shish Taouk Chili, the kebab kash kash, the sojok and the garlic potatoes. All this was more than enough especially with the complimentary pita bread. I would order every dish again, they were really great! Also very good value, we each paid $20 with taxes and tip. My only comment is I wish the music was louder as the restaurant felt kind of quiet at times. All together a very good experience and looking forward to try more of their dishes next time!

Joseph F.

Yelp
Excellent food. Limited seating so call ahead. Tabbouleh was great! Shish Taouk was seasoned well and cooked to perfection.

Yelp
Nice little place for lunch, and I mean little, so make a reservation if you can! For four people, we had the dip sampler platter, the fattoush salad, the mixed grill (5 skewers) and garlic potatoes. My favorites were the hummus, the baba ghanoush, the potatoes, and I could have put the garlic sauce on anything and been happy. Food was excellent. Our server seemed a bit stressed out, so not overly friendly, but she got everything correct. Good value for lunch; I would go back.

Brice V.

Yelp
I was told by Karen T. That we would get chocolate Hummus here. As it is her favorite thing. Again, i am speaking of Karen T, the Chocolate Hummus enjoyer, occasional Singer, compositing lover. Rest of the dîner was great (this is not a real review)

Yelp
We ordered the dip taster plate, the assorted pastry plate, and the kafta. The food was plenty for two and we had a little of the dips left over. The menu is relatively simple, which isn't a bad thing as Garage Beirut does them well. The dip taster plate was phenomenal, everything was very tasty, my only complaint is they were all very cold as if they had come straight out of a refrigerator as that took away from the creaminess dips should have. The assorted pastries plate was also good and provided a low cost way to try a variety. The kafta was well seasoned and very juicy. Great value at a nice, clean restaurant.

Yelp
So happy I stopped at this gem on my recent trip to Montréal! Delicious food in a cozy and chic atmosphere, the Muhammara, fattouche, mixed grill were all excellent. The kenafeh and mouhallabieh were perfect with the Lebanese coffee. Amazing flavors in every dish. Also our waitress was super attentive and friendly, as was the owner of the restaurant.

Yelp
The short version: outstanding service for a small casual spot like this, tasty homey food, cozy settings, and lovely dessert to convince you to come back soon! The longer version: service was fabulous; attentive, professional, friendly and helpful with food choices; certainly above and beyond a casual, small lunch spot in downtown. We got the kebab khash khash, the shish taouk and rice and salad for the side. Everything was great. I particularly enjoyed the rice. It was beautifully fragrant and the texture was spot on. Kebab khash khash was a bit dry for my taste, but tasty regardless. The shish taouk was excellent and was complemented perfectly with the small serving of yogurt on the side. Overall excellent for a weekday lunch. We couldn't leave without trying the dessert and decided to get the kenafeh: grainy and crunchy fried semolina on top, warm softened cheese underneath, all covered in a pleasantly sweet syrup. Not too sweet, not too hot, evenly fried, prepared carefully and perfectly to make u plan the next visit soon!

Yelp
Solid Lebanese restaurant in Montreal! They have a small but cute patio set up in the front and the rest of the restaurant is in a semi-basement. The patio itself is nice but the basement feels a little tight for space especially with the dividers between the tables. We offered the meat platter along with fattah lahme! Both were delicious. We are definitely new fans of lahme - the yogurt along with the fried pieces of cashews, almonds etc. The veal was tender too! The meat platter was quite plentiful and filling. I did find it to be a tad bit dry but overall, fairly good. Sandwiches are only for take-out, not for dining.

Mary B.

Yelp
Phenomenal food in a cozy (ie really small) place. Definitely make reservations. The food is bath excellent and authentic. Cannot say enough good things, service is superb and the vegetarian and vegan options are plentiful. But the hummus with ground meat is you are an omnivore is fantastic. The pita is a bit thin and rubbery. They could improve on making it fresh or getting a different supplier. Otherwise, fabulous

Yelp
A little gem in Montreal - cozy, homey and nice. The food was excellent. The people who worked there are passionate! I will come back next time in Montreal

Yelp
Great Lebanese food place. Food is great, prices are good, but restaurant is small and so are the tables.

M N.

Yelp
Our group of 6 just had a great meal at Garage Beirut, and we'd highly recommend. We sat outside on the small but cozy patio, and shared appetizers and main courses, which is a great way to sample the menu. All dishes were delicious, including the mezze assortment, fatoush, halloumi mixed grill and the vegetarian dishes especially the fatteh hummus. Service was friendly and attentive, and we really liked the bottle of Blanc de Blanc Lebanese white wine some of us shared. A great find.

Shawn M.

Yelp
A friend familiar with Montreal gave us a handful of recommended restaurants and this was one of them. What a treat! We ended up coming back a second time before we left because we all loved the food so much. It is small, and can get crowded easily, but the food is all authentic and carefully prepared (note: the grill doesn't get going for an hour after opening, so any grilled dishes won't be available until then as they use a charcoal grill). The kebabs are juicy and tasty, not dry like so often can happen, and they're generous with the bread. Definitely worth a visit in a neighborhood that has tons of good restaurants and bars.

Yelp
The staff at Garage Beirut were really accommodating to our large party and the food was plentiful and great! While this place is small, I came over here with a little more than 15 people and they were able to shift a couple tables to seat us. With a large group of us, waitress suggested we get a menu sampling option where we would get and share various suggested platters on their menu. For around $27, we were all satisfied and full. The platters started with your typical appetizer platters that included salad, cheese rolls, and baba ghanouj which were great. One of my favorite appetizers I had here was their potatoes, as they seasoned them in a way that made it taste great! As for some of the main, meaty dishes, they were all solid choices and good. The dishes were flavorful and not dry. The chef made us a mixed grill platter and Lebanese meat platter with meats such as chicken and lamb and we were also given spicy sausages that were great. Overall, we all came in here unsure what we wanted to order and we let our meal be determined by the chef with no dietary restrictions. The chef pulled through here and created a balanced meal that everyone enjoyed! The restaurant is really small though but does have seating outside. We were fortunate that it was not too busy when we went and they were able to combine most of their tables inside to accommodate our large party.

Yelp
More "Garden shed" that "Garage" this literal hole in the wall produces some of the best Lebanese food I've tasted in a very long while. Centrally located just 1/2 a block off Saint Cath's on the deceptively quiet Rue Mackay, Garage Beirut is surrounded by a slew of ethnic restaurants ranging from Taiwanese to Jamaican and I've already booked marked some for future visits. Reservations are a must as the tiny whitewashed dining room with a open kitchen can only accommodate 25 diners with another 10 on the front patio. You make friends quickly not only because of the tight quarters but everyone seem to be enjoying their meal, each other's company and even the piped in Lebanese pop backed up by the joyous and on key kitchen staff. I love the vibe. The menu is short and focused, divided into Salads featuring the popular Fattouche and Tabbouleh. Cold and hot Mezzes with everything from Baba Gannouj,Hummus and Kibbeh Nayyeh to Moussaka and my new favorite Sojok. Traditional dishes and Charcoal grilled section held kababs, Shish Taouk, and even a Filet Mignon...hardly traditional but forgiven since the balance of the menu and what comes to the table is so authentic. We started with the Baba Ghannouj plated with Pomegranate and mint. This was so creamy, smokey and savory with just that little background bite that the tahini and perhaps just a touch of fenugreek brings to the table, scooped up with a light, thin Lebanese pita used as our primary dining utensil is a excellent start. Next came the mixed pastries which had fillings of spinach and cheese, minced meats, melted cheese and an excellent Kibbeh.good but I thought a bit bland after enjoying our Baba Gannouj. Our next dish took us by surprise simply because the melding of all the bold flavors in it resulted in such a delicious and sublime dish. Sojok is charcoal grilled makanek sausages that is then sliced and lightly sauteed in a sauce of Pomegranate molasses,Lebanese 7 spice, olive oil and I believe I just a hint of Harissa plated with sliced shallots and fresh parsley. The firm lamb/pork sausage resting in all it's spicy, complex and so satisfying juices sopped up with the pita with just a dab of baba ghannouj is a bite you'll remember long after you've departed Garage Beirut and Montreal. Our final entree was the very good Khash- Khash kabab which was a pair of grilled minced meats on a bed of grilled and spiced tomatoes, crisped pita strips,onions,parsley,7 spice and a serving of Hummus. Spicy with that deep smokey finish from the charcoal grill, the kabab cooled by the Hummus and bright crushed tomatoes scooped with our now replenished pita and we are DONE!......or are we? Dessert of a delightfully "jiggly" orange blossom flavored milk pudding swimming in a sweet sauce with a sprinkling of chopped pistachios is refreshing and entertaining at the same time but I would have much preferred the rose water flavored version Beirut is famous for and a wonderfully chewy sweet cheese tart in the same sauce, a thick, dark, rich Turkish coffee with just a hint of cardamom is the ideal end to a very satisfying meal. I really like this cozy little restaurant with it's delightful staff and great menu and can't wait to return but before I end.... The chairs... what's up with the chairs? The wooden armed chairs are of the type that tends to tightly hug and seemingly won't let go of the posteriors of shall we say? " the rather wide of beam" or "broad of transom"...and several times during our meal I feared that more than one of our fellow diners would be taking one of these well worn chairs home with them.... Make a reservation, order the Sojok, have the Turkish coffee and beware of the chairs but please don't miss dining at Garage Beirut.

Yelp
Garage Beirut is a nondescript restaurant on Mackay street, where you have to go down a few steps to get inside. In the winter, you could easily pass this place by but in the summer, they have a cute little terrace. This type of place probably gets most of its clientele through word-of-mouth, which is actually how I heard about it. I've now been three times and keep bringing new people to try it each time I return! On the menu for vegetarians, we tried: hummus (delicious and a generous portion), the garlic potatoes (yummy), and the muhammara, which is a walnut and peppers based dip that is actually quite filling. These appetizers were served with pita bread. The only thing missing here I would say is a fatoush salad. On to the meat lovers! The three of us decided to share everything we ordered to try a larger variety. We got the trio of mezzes, which included cheese phyllo cigars, spinach fatayer, meat kibbe, and sambousa stuffed with meat. For our main, we ordered the grilled meats platter (meant for 2 people), and the garlic potatoes. This was also served with pita bread. The grilled meats included kebabs, filet mignon and perfectly grilled pieces of marinated chicken breast served with small amounts of hummus and garlic sauce. All of the meats were expertly grilled and worth the price. If it was just this amount of food, we would have still been hungry but because we were all eating from each others' plates, it was enough in the end. One of my friends ordered their Lebanese beer "Almaza" and I was pleasantly surprised! It was a light beer with barely any after taste. If you're not looking to be big spender, a quicker and cheaper option is a sandwich with one of the delicious meats - and sharing appetizers with it makes it tasty, filling and affordable (though it's by no means expensive).

Yelp
We really enjoyed the food here. The service can be a little slow but that's onl because they don't have enough staff for all the people coming in and take out and etc. If you are a big group, make sure only one person communicates at a time or you will confuse them That aside, everything we had was very good: the dip tasters, skewers, pastry assortments etc. Would definitely come back!

Yelp
Loved this place so much and reminded me so much of home. I'm the biggest critic for middle eastern food cause I have had the best Lebanese food growing up. Garage Beirut does justice to the kebabs, shish taouk and tabouleh. This place is such a good find and I highly recommend everyone to go here for Lebanese food cravings. I was a bit upset about the hummus and pita bread not being fresh- but the rest of the food was absolutely on point. I would suggest not ordering the garlic potato as well because it was too charred. Overall loved the ambience, their special beer, the service and the labneh. Now, I must go to my master plan of being besties with the chef and learning everything he cooks

Yelp
This is definitely my favorite Lebanese restaurant. It is a typical small Lebanese restaurant that reminds of home. Everything on the menu is excellent. Don't miss the kebbeh nayyeh, the soujouk and the knefeh for dessert.

Yelp
Great food from beginning to end. We tried the fatayer (spinach pastries), sojok (sausages), and the mixed grill. Everything was super deeply flavored and we kept drizzling everything with the small bottle of pomegranate molasses we were given. The grilled chicken was so tender and juicy, and we loved the garlic yogurt that came on the side. And the steak was scrumptious. The mix grill was a lot for two people to share - even two people who had been walking around Montreal all day - so we had a nice heap of leftovers to take with us. Service was quick and very friendly. Two small qualms. They didn't have a lot to choose from for drinks: 4 beers, a house red wine, soda, and juice. Also, it's a pretty small dining room, all tile and concrete, so it was pretty crowded and difficult to hear each other over the other guests. Be sure to call and make a reservation. Still very enjoyable and we're glad we went!

Yelp
The dishes in this restaurant are the closest to the Lebanese food available here in downtown Montréal. Which has mushroomed with Basha and Amir's likes, that are pretending to be Lebanese. The interior is small, with few tables, and Lebanese stamps and movie posters covering the wall. The service is very good, the waitress is kind and ready to answer all our questions and take our requests with a smile. You can start drinking arak and sharing mezzes with friends; hommos with meat, cheese rolls, tabbouleh, fattoush, Arayes kafta, fatit hommos, if you still aren't full order grilled meat veal, kafta, khashkhash and chicken. And end it with a delicious desert, the knefeh.
