Garage Review - East Passyunk - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"Garage has locations in both Fishtown and East Passyunk, and both are large, relatively empty spaces with garage doors that are thrown up as soon as the temperature hits 60 - making it a great place to day drink during the summer. It has one of the biggest selections of canned beer in the city, which means you’ll generally find people combing through the 40+ page menu with a look of sheer terror in their eyes, trying to make a decision between 100 different IPAs." - Sydney McElwee

Sophia was excellent. 230 beer options on their menu! Spacious center seating. Outside patio for a warm day. Located at a busy intersection for people watching. Perfect for a summer day. ID required on entry.

Food was terrible for the price. Just needed to eat so I got a smash burger that was the literal opposite of a smash burger. Karaoke was going on and it was LOUD! I had to go outside at one point just to get away from the awful. The service was great! Bartender friendly and could tell I just wanted to eat and go. Would recommend if you like a crowded place with loud noise.

Google
The garage never disappoints. I’ve come here to enjoy some drinks and food and it’s always on point. The bartender are nice. Lots of different options for beers. My new favorite is the fun bag.

James Gentile

Google
With a hipster vibe, this is a really great bar located in Northern Liberties/Fishtown section of Philly. Relatively cheap drinks, quick bartenders, good music, and few games such as skee ball and pool tables. Great place to catch a sixers game or meet up with friends for a drink. Popular on weekends but never too crowded that it’s not fun.

Google
Came in from out of town with my local friends and my spouse was singled out of our whole group as "too drunk" and denied entry. Could hear the lady at the door tell the other two guys as we even walked up. Super h progressional and biased. She needs an ego check cuz it’s hurting the business. Sucks to be discriminated against even when being sober. The door attendances suck. Yall lost our business and our local friends business for hating on one person in our group!

melissa

Google
Garage is at its best on a weekday when it’s empty and you want to watch a baseball game and drink a beer. On a weekend? When it’s busy? Scary. Heard multiple women get roofied so please be careful.

Google
Every time I come to Fishtown we end up here at some point and I love that. Great vibes inside especially for the eagles games and the drinks are always cold. ***if you like pickle backs their pickle juice is the best*** side note - get the pierogies (one order of each kind) They are bangin

Michael Bailey

Google
I think some of the reviews about being "not too drunk" are probably unfair, some of them probably were too drunk, but the commentary on the safety of women is 100% as a guy. Went here (I'm in my late 20s) with my wife and had to go to the bar to get a drink and on two separate occasions there were two separate groups of guys congregating near her boxing me away and I had to get her out of there (once at the bar in a crowd, once at the table with a couple weird guys who really did not even look cleaned up enough to be let in). Bouncer saw, it was the table next to them. I've never had to do this and I have lived nearby for years.

Yelp
Service was great! Food was barfood , so ok there. Lots of TV's playing various sports. Went there for the Guru Fantasy football draft, lots of fun!

Yelp
Garage Fishtown isn't a bad bar to hang out at, but it isn't a particularly thrilling one either. It has arcade games and the "fun bags" (kool aid like mixed drinks), both of which I enjoyed. I also had some food, including buffalo chicken pierogis and al pastor tacos. Tip 1: Don't buy tacos from here. They have way better ones outside at the food trucks. Tip 2: The women's bathroom has some entertaining graffiti.

Colleen C.

Yelp
I wish there was an option to give no stars. We will not be giving money to a business that treats their customers rudely.
google avatar

Briana H.

Yelp
Came in here solely to try the pierogies and after a long day of exploring it felt like my own personal hell with young college age kids that had me looking at them thinking are you even old enough to drink? and music so loud you couldn't hold a conversation. Unless you're looking for a loud grungy college dive bar to relive your youth, steer clear of this place! The pierogies were a touch too greasy for my liking- also one of our two orders was incorrect and had to wait 15 minutes for it to come out...don't waste your time here even for pierogies.

Yelp
We visited this restaurant by accident. It just happened to be in the right place at the right time. First I liked the "Garage" concept. Once we got pass security, there was no instructions given on how to order your food. We didn't know you have to order at the bar. When the food came up the security guard brought it to us. But there was no other service. There are only a few items on the menu. I ordered grilled chicken sandwich . It was tasty. I didn't care for the bathroom. While it smelled like it was freshly cleaned the spray paint and marker writing all over the stalls made me feel like I was at a truck stop bathroom.

Yelp
I was in Fishtown with my mom and husband for a dinner reservation, but we got to the neighborhood too early and needed to find a place to have a drink. We stopped in at Garage after seeing it from across the street. It had a bit of a college-y vibe to me (sticky floors, too loud to talk), but it has TVs playing sports, skee-ball, a lots of beers. It's not a place I'd return to (just not my vibe), but a decent place to kill some time before a reservation nearby.

Yelp
Garage Fishtown is fine. It's maybe not worth waiting in a line around the block on a Saturday night for this aging fogie, but it's got a great selection, and lots of (non-Saturday) space if you have a large group. Oh, and skee ball. Who can argue with skee ball? Really, the gripe that I have is that the prices for a lot of local stuff that you can get in any other bar in a block radius, is about 20% higher here than in those other spots. I get it - gotta pay your rent, gotta pay your people. But if the product is the same, the atmosphere's gotta have something that's 20% better for me, and skee ball by itself isn't gonna cut it. Good spot to watch a few games, otherwise.

Yelp
The floors are a little sticky, sure. And the crowd can be on the freshly-21 side at times. But Garage is a nice place to hang. They don't have Peacock so if you're looking for those obscure Phillies games, sorry Charlie. But they do have a wide selection of beers, mostly friendly staff, good food and skeeball! Helllurrrr! Plus a touch tunes, which helps me decide on a place because I like to curate the vibe.
google avatar

Steve M.

Yelp
The service at this bar is terrible. I said I would never go back but a colleague of mine told me they've gotten better.... He was wrong. That's just the people that hang out at this bar are either homeless or just down on their luck. If you want to feel good about yourself, I would not hang out here bartender it looks like a crackhead. I asked the bartender for a beer and what is on special her reply was just pick something.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped here after cocktails on a Friday night. Place was busy, young 20s/college crowd. Ok beer selectionZ Awesome pierogis! Had pool tables and mini bowling machines.

Yelp
Garage is a popular spot amongst 20-somethings in Fishtown. Personally, this is not my favorite spot in the area. My most recent trip was on a Wednesday night to waste some time after a show at the Fillmore before calling an Uber home. My friends and I were easily able to grab seats at the bar. The bar tenders were friendly and attentive. I ordered two of the fun bags, one of each flavor, and one was filled up to the top and the other was 3/4 full. The total for both came to $19, so I handed the bar tender $25 hoping she'd give me ones back so I could tip. Instead, she kept the change. Not what I was hoping for, but not worth mentioning. The drinks are super sugary and will leave you with a nasty hangover. This bar has skee-ball and a small kitchen so you can definitely make an evening of it. I've personally never stayed late enough to determine what the crowd is really like on the weekends. A good spot on a weeknight if you have a bigger group. Wide selection of canned beers too!

Yelp
My buddies and I were lured to Garage for its vast amount of space and prime spot on the corner of the street in Fishtown. Garage might be a cool, hip place to catch a game and drink with friends, but all amenities considering, this was a very underwhelming experience. On the dining side, the entire menu is incredibly sparse. There aren't many drafts to choose from, a small selection of cocktails, and barely any options for food. There's about four sandwiches to chose from and only two (meatball and porchetta), sounded enticing. I went with the meatball and it wasn't anything I was expecting. Although it tasted good and I liked the french bread, you receive a pretty small version of a sandwich for $6. I didn't understand the reason to serve the food in paper bags wrapped in tinfoil, also. Completely unpresentable and made the sandwich a little messy, too. Because you have to buy food now in order to drink at bars in Philly, they should really expand the menu with more variety. At least include some classic bar food like flatbreads or burgers. Overall, I ended up having a good time with my friends so this wasn't a total loss. I was hoping for a bit more pizazz from the food, but the allure of Garage comes from its atmosphere, which I think is a reason to give it another shot.

Yelp
I've walked past this place so many times and decided to try it out after a show at the Brooklyn Bowl. It was an underwhelming experience and I'm not sure I'd return. For a weeknight, the amount of people and general vibe was as expected. The staff were fine, and didn't leave much of an impression. My husband paid for songs on the jukebox which perked up our small group. We think staff decided to override for a bit. Then the songs he paid for came on again. For drinks, we kept it simple with beers and green tea shots. All of us were puzzled by the high hard cider prices. From outside, it appears more spacious that it actually is, but I liked that the garage style allowed for the doors/windows to let in fresh air. There seem to be conflicting vibes, but I suppose it can be a stop while bar hopping in the area.

Esmil J.

Yelp
The best arcade and drinking I have ever had! Make sure you have your ID and other properties that's might be valuable to your entry! Ambient

Rebekah W.

Yelp
Don't waste ur time. I wouldn't even give this place one star or even come here if it was the only place open. Im not one to ever put a bad review out for any business but don't want more people to waste their time and money coming here. Bouncers are extremely disrespectful. Took my best friend out for her birthday this was our first stop, we ubered from 20 minutes away and immediately exiting the Uber, before even fully entering the building, a bouncer walked up in our faces and told us we're denied entrance. with no reasoning. There was only maybe 5 people in the entire bar, they definitely should get some new bouncers to stay in business

Yelp
Can't really complain about Garage! My friends and I were barhopping in Fishtown and Garage was on our list. When we went, which was on a busy Friday night, it was packed to the gills. The atmosphere was fun and overall I was digging the more hip/grunge vibes -- given that we had already been to a few places beforehand. Not too sure if this would be a place I would go to during the day, but during the weekend is an essential in Fishtown.
google avatar

Caroline C.

Yelp
I was here from 8-10pm and it was a good place to hang out for a while before the late night crowd cascaded onto the scene. Space was very big and I like that they a lot of games :) Drink prices were appropriate and the selection of beer is impressive. Good spot to bring a friend who you know likes weird beer. They had like five bartenders who were hipster looking but so so nice. It wasn't ever too hard to get a drink. Not sure what the late night drunk crowd is like but I imagine it can be frustrating and feel touristy if you're new to the area and just starting your evening. Bathrooms were pretty okay as well. :*)

Christina F.

Yelp
Just tried to visit garage for the first time with my best friend and we're denied. We are both 23 years old and when she went to give her ID the bouncer rejected it without even scanning it. He claimed it didn't look like her even after she recited all the information on her ID. As a new resident of fish town I am beyond frustrated. They asked for another ID which being 2 years out of college she didn't have. Will not be back.

Yelp
This bar is great for what it is. They have a huge selection of beers. Right when you walk up to the bar, they'll hand you a book of their selections. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I wish more of they beer they had was on tap. Most of their selection is canned or bottled. They have a jukebox, pool tables, see ball, and shuffle board. They also have a little kitchen serving food.
google avatar

Christopher A.

Yelp
Great bar with a down to earth feel. Went here with coworkers and had a good time. Bartenders are alright and drinks are reasonable.

Skylar D.

Yelp
The bouncer at the front didn't let me in even though I'm 21 and wouldn't let me in without a second "picture of myself" that wasn't on my phone. Don't go here.
google avatar

Yelp
Garage is a different type of place and not really what I expected. We had dinner in the area this past Saturday and it looked like a cool spot to check out, so we did. No cover on a Saturday is always a good thing. We liked the idea of the indoor out thing. It was a beautiful night and the doors were up. We were hoping for live music but this just isn't that type of spot. The radio was very loud and must have been on repeat. We heard the same Mase song from 1998 over and over again. The drinks were cold but hard to come by. There were 4 bartenders but it didn't seem like enough. It's hard to get drinks. They only serve cans which I hate! The games are pretty cool if you're into that. The pool tables are also hard to come by. We just played shuffleboard. Overall it's a cool spot to stop and have a beer or two. We stayed for about and hour and went elsewhere.
google avatar

Lauren S.

Yelp
We were in the area bar hopping for my birthday and decided to stop by. There was a bit of a line to get in, but it was nice they didn't have cover. It was a really crowded and noisy. It reminded me of a college bar, you could barely move and people are bumping into each other. I did manage to play a round of skeeball which was fun. The bar has a huge selection of canned beer. They might have a few beers on draft but not a lot. I asked the bartender to pick me a fruity beer cause I couldn't see what the names were and they didn't have a menu. She gave me a mango cart beer which is one I had before and liked, so that was a plus. I wouldn't mind coming back another time when it's not as crowded, but I don't know if I would go on a Friday or Saturday night again.
google avatar

Matt S.

Yelp
While in fishtown for a birthday, some of our group wanted to go into the garage? Why? I'll never know... fortunately there is no cover, but there was a line to get in while waiting for people to leave. Once we were under the maximum occupancy, we were granted access. Getting to where the bar was a challenge, but we had somewhat fastish service. It was impossible to really see what they had, but we got two beers. Once we fought our way back to an empty area we played some skeeball. I'd probably love to check this out when not everyone else in the city were here. I feel this is less of a chill spot, but a venue that lets people get a little crazy. Still, i might return, but I'd make sure there wasn't a line first. The lesser the amount of people the better.
google avatar

Michelle A.

Yelp
Very rude person at the door. They scan all ID's which is fine but when we said we preferred not to have it scanned, as they are not checking for age but data in case something happens. Wound up leaving because the young man was seriously confrontational. Older gentleman at the door was kind and had to apologize for the shouting of the young man. Like seriously we are old- have a little respect for your clientele. You can refuse entry and still be nice.
google avatar

Johnny C.

Yelp
This is a highly crowded bottle bar in Fishtown. It's expensive, crowded, and everything comes out of a can or bottle. There is a huge selection, which is nice. It features skee-ball and a pool table, another plus. People love this place, and it's in a good location to jump off to Fishtown. In my opinion, it's ok. It's a slightly better than average bar, that draws a large crowd. If you are with a big group that all want to do different things, this is a decent choice. Also to add, when I went last night the bouncers seemed skeptical of my ID and didn't want to let me in due to it being from out of state (MD) and how it was faded in the back, I talked to them for a long time to convince them it was a real one and in the end I showed them a picture of my passport photo and then finally allowed me in.
google avatar

Tom L.

Yelp
Huge space smack dab in the middle of Fishtown, one of the coolest areas in the city. Garage is what one would expect. Cement floors, some games along the perimeter, limited tables and packed with a very young crowd. You can't miss the huge cooler full of craft beer and cider cans. We were this past Sunday and when I went to order a couple of them, they told me they can't sell any since the entire cooler stopped working. Wow...save the beers! I wonder if they'll be serving those warm cans after the repair. Highlight was Big Rube's Fried Chicken Sammiches in the house! He is there from time to time. Just do it. FYI, you can also bring food in, so don't miss Joe's Cheesesteaks across the street. Best in the city. Truth. Bouncer at the door, so have your ID ready.

Yelp
Do NOT COME HERE, this place is discriminatory against non American citizens and JEWISH people; the employees here are clearly ignorant. I've been coming to this bar as a local many times but last night my experience here was absolutely disgusting. I came here for my birthday to celebrate with friends and a friend of mine, a citizen of Canada attempted to enter the bar with his permanent resident card (WHICH IS A GOVERNMENT ISSUED FORM OF IDENTIFICATION by THE UNITED STATES. IT IS A VALID FORM OF IDENTIFICATION GOOGLE IT) and they denied his entry. I argued saying if you don't drive and you don't travel internationally often and your passport expires, that's sometimes your only form of identification. They still denied his entry saying he needed his passport at all times, which is funny because all other bars we were at prior to this place that day allowed his entry with this form of identification. I've never experienced such prejudice in an establishment especially when a man claiming he was the manager came to speak to me saying you always need your passport if you're not a citizen! What a crazy lie. The worst part of this story was, after my friend and I turned around and left my other friend was finishing up her drink by the front and heard the bouncers talking about us and they said "I CANNOT DEAL WITH THESE JEWS"...... who's Jewish? We weren't and even if we were WHO CARES. HOW IGNORANT! We were a group of 27 people so they lost 27 patrons on a slow Saturday night. Your loss!
google avatar

Alicia O.

Yelp
You'll probably get great service if you're a white girl. I'm not so service was slow and unenthusiastic. I'm sad the previous bartender from Baltimore doesn't still work here because he was cool as sh**. These folks they have tending now are lackluster and unhelpful. We need to find a new Friday spot.
google avatar

Arvind V.

Yelp
Very underwhelmed with the service we were offered: got a table for four. The drinks were at best "meh": the copper mug and the ice weighed twice as much as the actual drink. I ordered a Moscow Mule but I think I just drank ginger beer because it literally tasted like nothing. We also ordered a sandwich, pretzel bites and cookies: the sandwich was a disgrace to anything that could be termed a sandwich, the pretzel bites and the dip was beyond disgusting. The cookies were the icing on the cake: the server confirmed the cookie order with us thrice and her managed to bring a totally wrong cookie. On top, she showed a sample cookie but the real cookie that was given was 25% the size of what she showed us. The server was super nice to be honest, but what we were served just literally ruined my day for good.

Luke M.

Yelp
I spent hundred of dollars here and they treated me like a second class citizen and kicked me out after a friend of mine spilled an ice cube on the ground. Yes, you heard that right, an ice cube fell on the ground of a bar! How dare that happen. The employee of the bar tried to not even let me finish the drink that I had already paid for. I do not understand why they would kick me out for an ice cube falling on the ground unless they were trying to open it up to more people waiting in line to pay a cover charge. I will NEVER go back to this bar again, and I would recommend anyone to go ANYWHERE else in Fishtown, because this bar offers NOTHING of value.
google avatar

Patrick H.

Yelp
Decent place for a drink and some billiards/Skeeball! I would say the best thing about this place is its great beer selection! Prices are okay. However, almost always super crowded and sometimes super hard to get drinks. People can also become rowdy as well, especially later on during the day. Essentially, kind of feels like a place where young adults go on a weekend night to get college drunk. Pros: Great beer selection, SKEEBALL! Cons: Loud, rowdy, crowded
google avatar

Paige J.

Yelp
Garage Fishtown- the main focus for them is canned beer- and boy do they have the best selection! When you get there they hand you a binder for the beer list that is sectioned by both style of beer or the brewery. Makes it super easy to find a beer you want. With that said there are also plenty of other options for drinks as it is a full service bar. Now, The Garage is not the place to go if you want to sit down and enjoy a beer with food. They normally don't have food available, but there are times there will be a food truck there with 2-4 options. This is a great weekend spot and nighttime spot. It's also an excellent bar to watch games since they have a lot of TVs. I personally love The Garage, but I can see how it can be hit or miss for some people. The atmosphere is young, ages 21-30 mostly and the employees are around the same as well.
google avatar

Shannon M.

Yelp
Garage was a fun place to go before covid, they have skeeball, a ton of drink options, and food. They are doing to go cocktails right now which is great. Their snacks to meet the required food with drinks are tasty and small. Their drinks could be better, they do have a lot of beers.
google avatar

Tasha M.

Yelp
Cool vibe, nice bar staff clean and inviting. There were a few ski ball games and a pool table with a full bar. We had a good time.
google avatar

Rachel K.

Yelp
Garage Fishtown is a larger version of the South Philly Garage. They space out the billiards a bit more and seem to have a more extensive version of bottled and draft beers. They have an in-house food truck which carries fried chicken and other comfort foods. Garage hits the spot for any activity-obsessed, hipster-lovin alcoholic like myself with its proximity to other profound Fishtown locations on the block such as Barcade and Frankford Hall. It varies with foot traffic based on the day and events, so if you like to keep the low profile, come on a weeknight or Sunday.
google avatar

Katya P.

Yelp
This is a great place to stop by and regroup or meet up with people when you're bar hopping in Fishtown. First (and probably most important) there is no cover. I came out on a Friday night and there was no line to get in all night (this was basically why we were in and out of this place all night). It was filled with people but never got to packed. There's a ton of room in the middle for dancing but unfortunately no one was (the music was good to, so not sure why people were not, I guess it's just not the vibe of the place). It's loud and packed with enough to do to keep your energy going for the night. I'm not a beer person so I can't speak to that but everyone in my group seemed happy with their orders. The shots I got were average price/strength for the area. Not sure why so many negative reviews. I guess I never planned my whole night around hanging out here and if you just plan to have this as one stop on your evening, it more than serves it's purpose.
google avatar

Angela D.

Yelp
Might be a good spot if you're already drunk, but don't start your night out here. The food is just bar food and the pirogies we had were cold in the center. Food came out relatively quick though. Young and loud crowd.
google avatar

Louis R.

Yelp
3 skeeball machines 2 pool tables 1 shuffle board ...and a ton of beers Open air and very clean. Another sick addition to a hip area.
google avatar

Krina S.

Yelp
This place is okay. It's almost always poppin' on the weekends. They have a large selection of drinks and it's a cool spot but the drinks are definitely watered down, especially considering their cost. Eh. I only come here if the other bars in the area are too full.
google avatar

Oscar A.

Yelp
Really fun and laid back bar to meet up with friends if you don't mind a crowd! There is no cover to get in and there is usually not a line unless you go at peak times. Even when there's a line I recommend still going as security keeps it moving pretty quickly. The best time to get here is before 10:30, as I've noticed the place gets PACKED after 11. There isn't much room to dance when the place is full, but that doesn't seem to be the vibe as most people come here just to talk or chill. There's a lot to do at this bar with carnival games in one section and some pool tables in the middle. There is actually plenty of seating for the space. They will sometimes have a featured chef serving something delicious at the window by the carnival games or if not you're always welcome to run across the street to Joe's Steaks and bring it over. They have a great selection of canned beers as well as tap and nice cocktails. I strongly recommend one of their Fun Bags as they are strong and tasty as long as you don't mind a sweeter drink. The security and bartenders are very friendly and get to know their customers - the staff all remembered me after just a few visits. They are constantly coming around to clean up trash / empty glasses and keep the place in tip top shape. Overall this is a great, casual bar with staff that really cares and decent prices. While I wouldn't go out of my way to visit this place, I would say that if you're in the neighborhood it certainly deserves a visit! I strongly prefer it to the other bars in the immediate vicinity.

Yelp
This is the best bar in Philly. And the reason why it's so great is because of Our favorite bartender Tim. We only come here every Sunday because of him. Great service and atmosphere and overall amazing vibes

Yelp
The beer selection is off the wall! (pun intended: they have a walll-lined fridge of beer) I'm relatively new into the craft beer world (ADD ME ON UNTAPPD I NEED FRIENDS: awndrayhey) Garage has an impressive - reportedly the largest in Philly - selection of canned beer and some interesting drafts. Happy Hour runs 5-7 Monday through Friday with several $3-5 shots and beers. Fishtown can be a great place to grab drinks, and when I came to Garage on a Thursday night for happy hour/ football, there was tons of space to spread out. Plenty of seating and standing room with lots of TVs and Skee Ball to keep you entertained. The weather was perfect the night I came, and the walls open up (garage-door style) to let in lots of fresh air. While they encourage you to BYO cheesesteak, apparently they also host several different events throughout the month that allows different chefs to cook some signature dishes. I came when Doreen of American Sardine Bar and Second District was cooking up some friend chicken waffle sandwiches. They were OUT OF THIS WORLD delicious. Chef Doreen is my favorite Philly Chef, and if you haven't visited ASB or Second District, I highly recommend. Garage is a solid bar. The prices could be a little more competitive, I paid $6 for a 12 oz. craft draft during Happy Hour - not shabby, but could be cheaper. However, there's beers here that you'll be hard pressed to find elsewhere. Chill vibes to be had, at least the night I was here. Very eclectic crowd, and that's what I like.

Mike S.

Yelp
This is great because it is a tourist trap, according to my friend. I don't like going to the garage I have to say.

Yelp
Great location in the midst of all the fun things that Fishtown has to offer. Atmosphere is vibrant and young, and is mixed bag of groups and parties with a line out the door on a Saturday night. The beer selection is excellent with a combo of draft and to-go beers, cans, and bottles. Perfect place if you want to impress a beer lover with a lot of options, with standard prices but slightly pricier cans. There is a little food truck inside that was closed by the time I got there, but they ended up putting out their leftover donuts which was a fun little treat! Pool table and games sections seem fun but are slightly hogged by the same people for a while, unless you get there earlier. Overall, good service from the bar tenders, open floor plan (because it literally used to be a mechanic) with that industrial-brick vibe that I love to see in the area! Gets busy and even the patrons are super nice to talk to if that's what you're into. Come with friends towards the beginning of the night and see where it takes you!

Yelp
3 skee ball lanes, two pool tables, and one motorcycle hanging from the ceiling. It was not exaclty what I expected. My first reaction was whoaaaa this place was crowded. But, on the bright side. they have a huge selection of beer -mostly in cans. The selection makes up for everything else. The crowd was mostly hipster 20 somethings with a frat boy twist. I couldn't say I exactly enjoyed the hour I spent here screaming over the music to talk with my friends but we were able to snag a table. After a beer and a fireball shot I kind of forgot how bad this place was. Now, looking back, I'd only really go here if I'm already kind tipsy and forget how weird it is. I'd go here at your own risk...

Yelp
****** IF YOU ARE FROM OUT OF STATE YOU CANT COME HERE***** I'm from Baltimore, MD and my roommate is from Florida and we both recently (6 days ago) moved to Philadelphia. Last night we went out with a friend and decided to go to the garage fish town location. I'd also like to state that I am in my early thirties far from being under age. However The extremely incompetent doorman didn't know how to read our said IDs and wouldn't let us in. He was really rude and your should probably hire someone that can read numbers and dates to work the front door if you aren't going to have a scanner. So I'm guessing that if I were to bring anyone that is visiting from out of state to a bar that THIS garbage bar would be off limits?! Seems extremely silly to me. Have fun not getting out of town business I guess??? It's honestly not the type of bar I'd ever want to go to anyway I was just out with friends... but I am pissed off enough that I figured I should write this and warn others.

Yelp
Future affordable drinks and good food stands as well. Odd crowd sometimes, but you can't beat the pouches.

Yelp
I really want to like this place more than I do. It has the set up, it has cool games, it has such a good variety of drinks, but it just doesn't all come together that great. It's all open standing, like you could dance, but the music and the atmosphere just doesn't come together to be a fancy environment. And it has the potential to be a good bar, but with the open standing and lack of tables and bar space it's really just a bunch of people standing around.

Yelp
They don't know what's drunk or not. I witness two white peoples walk in fine but drink as hell but when I tried to get In they denied me. Fuck this ok as and the bouncers
