Garibaldis Restaurant

Maybe they were short staffed the night we were at Garibaldis Restaurant, but the food took longer than expected to appear on our table and wasn't hot enough when it did. The salads were fresh and lively. The sauce on the fish was lovely. We were all super happy with our desserts - Cheesecake and the Chocolate Budino. The restaurant is near my house so will try it again.

Delicious food & drinks! We ordered a Caesar salad to share & they split it onto 2 plates for us. The croquettes were delicious. The spicy penne vodka had a great kick to it! The chicken Milanese was cooked so well although could have been a bit more lemony. Drinks were also great. Service was speedy & super friendly

Amazing dinner with my son!! Couldn't have been more delicious. Spring risotto with asparagus, and an amazing short rib grilled cheese sandwich. We ended with the creamy lemon butter cake for desert. Service was impeccable, staff friendly and attentive. I can see why the place was bustling on a Thursday night at 8:30! We sat at the bar and Eric took great care of us.

Huge restaurant with tons of seating and easy reservations with great food and service. Portions sizes are quite large and I was easily filled to the brim. The brussel sprouts are an absolute standout small dish to start. The salad ordered as an entree was just massive with a mountain of food. The seated tuna entree was great but maybe a tad bit over salted but the dessert was a great way to finish the meal and I loved that they placed some candles to celebrate my birthday.

The most fantastic restaurant in San Francisco. Fabulous food, superb wine, amazing cocktails. We talk about their Chicken Milanese on a daily basis. Insanely good Bees Knees. The neighborhood is lovely, the staff is friendly and accommodating. If I could give 10 stars I would. A great date is to have dinner at Garibaldi's and to go to the movie theater around the corner. LOVE Garibaldi's.

Wonderful food. Quiet smallish neighborhood restaurant. Attentive staff. Would definitely come back. We were staying at the Laurel Inn while a family member had surgery at UCSF .

The chicken Milanese is absolutely scrumptious and huge. The other dishes we have tried are also very good, with the exception of the meatballs. I'm not sure what kind of meat(s) are used, but the meatballs are grisly and not very good. We tried them twice and had the same experience both times. Desserts are also exceptional. Prices are a bit high, but the portions and quality are definitely worth it.

The service was kind of slow which is why I'm giving 4 stars. We sat for almost 15 minutes before anyone even approached our table. But the server who eventually showed up was nice. The chicken Milanese was very good with a generous portion. The steak "frittes" was very good. But the scene stealer was the olive tapenade that accompanied the bread. It was warm and briny with so much flavor! The ambience inside was romantic, upscale and classy without being too stuff. Pretty great neighborhood restaurant.

My boyfriend chose Garibaldi's for a Valentine's Day dinner, and we were able to get a table at 6pm without a prior reservation. The interior of the place was very intimate with candlelight at every table and dark surroundings. We were seated in the backroom and I liked the privacy and more quiet ambiance. Our waitress was really nice and welcoming and took our orders shortly after explaining the a la carte Valentine's Day menu. We ordered the bread and butter starter, roasted cauliflower, and oysters off the specials to start. The bread and butter was so good we got another order of the bread to finish out the butter! The warm bread had a great crust with a light texture on the inside and the softened butter was topped with flaky salt. This pairing is always special when the quality of ingredients is good. The roasted cauliflower was tasty, though I think there was almost too much chipotle sauce on top. The pickled onions were much needed to balance the richness of the sauce. The oysters had a good flavor, but they were so tiny that 3 for $15 was not worth it. For mains, I got the winter chopped salad and my boyfriend ordered the dungeness garlic noodles. The salad looked huge and was a great portion as an entrée. I liked the sort of grated hardboiled egg on top, which added a nice touch of protein. I liked the bitterness of the leaves with the light dressing, everything was fresh and balanced. The dungeness crab noodles were to die for, so garlicky, buttery, and with big chunks of crab meat. The waitress said this was a relatively new addition to the menu since dungeness crab season just started, so get it while you can! For dessert, we got the tiramisu which came in a big slice, but we were not complaining. It was perfectly fluffy and light, with kahlua soaked ladyfingers and a delicate cream in between its layers, topped with a nice layer of cocoa powder. Overall, a nice romantic local spot for a fancier dinner!

The farro salad, the hamburger, and the chicken Milanese was so delicious. Hard to get a table for 5 but I made reservations through email. More a date night spot or for a smaller party of 4. They were really accommodating for our children too.

Wonderful neighborhood gem. My friend and I went and I was hoping that it was as good as I remembered, and it absolutely was!

Celebrated a friend's birthday here a while ago. Forgot to write a review. Perfect time to catch up now that I'm on a hiatus. So I remember the restaurant being very packed inside, shall we say "intimate"? Food was mostly okay. Our favorite was the Papas Bravas and the Chicken Milanese. The Steak Diane was not to my taste. My husband's French Dip with au jus was okay. This is a nice neighborhood restaurant, so 3.5 stars bumping up.

I dined at Garibaldi's last night. I'm afraid I have to give it a mixed review. The chicken scallopini and scampi pasta were good, The lamb dish was acceptable but the burger was really sad. The meat in the burger was so gristly that I couldn't eat it. The fries were really good although over salted. We tried the apple crisp dessert- it was served in a deep bowl and smothered in a large amount of whipped cream- almost as if the chef was trying to hide the dessert. It was a mess. The apples were not properly cored and I had to spit out the hard bits of apple core. The flavor was good-I like cinnamon and apples. The apples were juicy, and cooked well, maintaining their texture. It was a lost opportunity for the dessert to be made well. How pretty it could have been if served on a plate with the cream in a small bowl on the side.

The service was quite slow. I mentioned to our server that it was our anniversary and she didn't even congratulate my wife, let alone comp us a glass of champagne. I had two drinks and the bill had three. It's also crazy noisy. Definitely a disappointment.

We had an 8:30pm reservation for Valentine's Day which was made a few weeks in advanced. I check in and the man immediately tells me they're closing and we'll need to order as soon as possible. I sit down and wait for someone to come by my table which doesn't happen until 8:45pm. It's the same man who rushed me when I walked in and he said I'd need to order everything right away because the kitchen takes last orders at 8:45pm. We were never brought water let alone get the chance to order a drink. When I asked him why they take 8:30 reservations if we must order everything by 8:45 and he shrugged. The whole experience was so off putting - no service, quite rude service and no apology for the inconvenience. Needless to say we left and our Valentine's Date was cut abruptly short given there was no where else to go on such short notice. Would never recommend anyone to give this place their time and money. Such a waste.

My son treated me to dinner here and it was outstanding. The Chicken Milanese lives up to its reputation...excellent! Delicious cheesecake and drinks! We had Negronis, an Irish coffee and an espresso martini that were the best ever! Wonderful service too.

What a find. If I needed to stage a last supper, I'd go to garibaldis because the menu is just so delicious and accessible. The patatas bravas were simply the best I've ever had. The pork chop that followed filled my proverbial cup. The place was absolutely packed and yet felt so relaxing. This place has it going on and it's just up the road from the Laurel Inn, my favorite hotel in SF. A gem!!

A favorite neighborhood place and we go about twice a month. The food is consistently good (especially the chicken milanese), great room with big windows and great drinks (perfect manhattan). The staff is friendly and having dinner at the great bar adds to the ambiance.

We came here for our friend's birthday and it ended up being the perfect spot! We had a big round table which I loved it's perfect for conversation. Our server he was wonderful quick and I never had to look for him I consider that all excellent qualities. The wine list here was amazing ahh pricy but amazing none the less. The food was super delicious flavorful not a one of us were unhappy about our orders. I was so busy trying to taste everyone else's dish, I was full before I started my own dish lol The ambience is perfect classy and a little noisy, because they're packed with a huge group of regulars and I know why, because everything is just so delicious. Starting from the perfectly cook rock cod, to the creamy risotto to dye for and then the chicken Milanese melts in your mouth and topping all of that off with the slow braised beef brisket, all these dishes with the amazing wines we ordered, starting with the French Champagne over to Merry Edwards Pinot and all together made for a beautiful evening with much adored friends aka family. We all loved everything oh yes we will be back ASAP! Cheers all SYOY

This was our #1 of our top 5 SF restaurants. We came here for our last night as SF residents bc it was always our favorite. Deanna always took care of us and she's one of a kind! The chicken Milanese NEVER disappoints, and I'm always excited to see rotating seasonal starters. Calamari is incredible, the chopped salad is a staple, you can't go wrong with anything. Strong cocktails and lovely atmosphere, try and sit by the window :). We will miss Garibaldis so much!!

When we lived in SF we used to dine at the original Garibaldi in SOMA. It was casual and always had fantastic food especially my favorite, the lamb tenderloin. We've since moved out of the city, the original Garibaldi's closed but we still would go to the one on Presidio. On Thursday night we made reservations to dine to celebrate a special occasion. Sadly we spent 15 minutes looking for a parking but no luck. We noticed that there was a white curb in front of the restaurant for loading and in front of that a parking spot that our fit in except for 3' feet. We parked and asked the host/waiter for a table where we could watch the spot. The restaurant was half empty so that wasn't an issue. He insisted that we move our car because they pay for the spot and a customer might need it. He wouldn't budge from his stance and wouldn't seat us. So we got in our car and left. I guess he didn't need the business. ‍

Perfect place to have dinner after a movie at the Vogue! We got in under the wire, 15 min before closing. Not many restaurants open late in the area. Bar seating since we didn't have reservations. I actually prefer it sometimes. The Chicken Milanese is perfection. Panna Cotta is very good here. Ambiance is casual elegance and fits the neighborhood like a glove.

My husband and I have been driving by Garibaldis for years and always wanted to try it. We finally did and it was just as amazing as it looked (always busy!). The food was delicious and sustainable (I only eat sustainable meats-super happy bonus!), the drinks were made with care and an excellent way to wait for our table, and the atmosphere was fun and friendly. It had a nice selection of dishes and the prices (food) were lower than we expected from such a nice place with sustainable options. The drinks were a little pricey and the bottled wine list started around $90, but a great selection. We made reservations by phone within a 2 hour window, the service was informed, friendly, and the entire atmosphere felt like a neighborhood gathering. Had a great date night and has become a top 5 restaurant for us.

From the moment we walked through the door to the time we left, the service was excellent! We showed up without reservations on Saturday and Dina the hostess was so accommodating. My sister and I had to use the lift to the upper section and Dina had us cracking up instead of making it awkward. The wait staff were all friendly and terrific. We started off by sharing the patatas bravas and G salad and were in heaven over those potatoes. I had the Chicken Milanese and would have stabbed anyone with my fork if they tried to take some! Luckily, I didn't mind sharing a little piece with my sister. I still had plenty to take home. My sister had the Lasagna Bolognese and my BIL had the Shrimp Pasta. We were all quite delighted with our dinners. I also had the Cable Car cocktail and I could have had a gallon of it because it was so tasty. I just want to say that as a disabled person, this place rocks! As we were leaving, the waiter went out of his way to open the door for us and Dina actually helped me get into the car! Unbelievable service in San Francisco, where people let the door close in front of me while I'm trying to go in with my walker or cane. I am definitely coming back!

My mom and I decided to try this place out because it was close to our hotel and it was really good! I'm giving it 4 stars because the restaurant was very cramped and stuffy, the menu was pretty small (not a ton of options to choose from for dinner) and it was a little pricey. That being said, our food was good and the waitstaff were very friendly and attentive. My mom ordered the lasagna and I had their shrimp pasta. We finished with their chocolate dessert and it was all very yummy.

Lamb was very good, even toddler ate it but other kid didn't like it. Ragu was mildly spicy. Risotto croquettes must have been good since kids ate it all and I didn't even get a bite. Brussel sprouts good. 4.5 stars. Pricey.

Came in for new years and didn't realize there was a fixed menu but everything was amazing. The service was great the food came quick and we had a great time. The ambiance was very romantic. The duck was so good and we were drooling over the crispy mushrooms. Would love to come again.

I had wanted to try the restaurant for some time, so after a long visit to the nearby Decorators Showcase, a friend from out of town (who had eaten here previously) and I stopped in. The dark exterior hides a cozy space with banquettes and helpful, knowledgeable servers. Ours explained the ingredients of the chopped salad, and the size (small) of the risotto croquettes. I wasn't that hungry, so chose the farro salad, and opted to try the croquettes another time. I also wanted to try a dessert. My friend chose the Garibaldi's salad. Next to us, a lady was eating the portobello mushroom sandwich, which looked appetizing. Our salads were quickly made, and were excellent, with farm fresh ingredients. Chocolate budino is made to order, and since my friend didn't want to wait, I chose 2 sorbets: strawberry and passion fruit. Both are very good, with the nice addition of a biscotto. I recommend that you try Garibaldi's. They offer many options for lunch and dinner, friendly service and good food.

A total hidden gem. This is an incredible date spot, if you're looking for one. It's an intimate restaurant with mood lighting and a lot of romantic coziness. Get the burrata. Get the bread. Get it all. Your next date night should be here. You won't regret it.

Love this spot! Been here twice with family and everything is always bursting with amazing flavor. It's a smaller restaurant with a bar and I believe there is additional seating in the back. Seating in the front of the restaurant is awesome as you get the natural light coming in through the huge windows. The staff is great and make the dining experience that much greater.

My wonderful manager recommended to me - SO GOOD. Everything from the ambiance, cocktails, mains, apps - YES. We got a bunch of seasonal apps, I think there was a burrata situation and the patatas bravas? And we split the chicken Milanese and it was all fabulous. The martinis were perfect.

Ohh... One of those nice San Francisco eateries. Don't wait to be disappointed, you won't be. Everything on the menu is nice, and when the server pours you a glass of wine it gets filled WAY up. How nice. Elegant, upscale. Looking for a place to bring your date? You got it. Prices? Well, it is a nice place, so.... ;-)

As Good As Ever! Just recently started revisiting all of our old favorite pre-pandemic restaurants - at least the ones that are still around - and happened to drive by Garibaldi's a few weeks back and realized that we hadn't been in years. It has always reminded me of a NYC restaurant and sure enough the same magical ambiance immediately took hold tonight. That same exciting sense of being a grown-up in a grown-up restaurant for the first time. Started with a glass of the brut rosé and some bread and butter - warm and delicious. Appetizers were the G-Salad and a Salmon Poke new in the menu. Both very nicely executed. I had the classic Chicken Milanese and my partner had the Short Ribs - also new on the menu. Nothing earth shattering but just solid old -school fare done to perfection. We both ate every bite. Also ordered a bottle of the "House" Syrah and it exceeded expectations Ended with the cheesecake with blood orange and the cookies and milk. Somehow this was the first post - pandemic dinner where I really felt things were back to normal. A delicious classic neighborhood restaurant kind of normal where I fully expected to walk out and then stroll down Madison or Park Ave. in complete contentment

I had the best chicken Milanese of my life here, and I've been to Italy. But all the food I had here was delicious! For starters, I had the risotto croquettes, fried zucchini, and chicken pâté. For my main, I had the chicken Milanese, which came with a heaping arugula salad, and mashed potatoes. That plate was so perfectly balanced, and I ate every single morsel. And it was a huge portion!! For dessert, I had the chèvre cheesecake, and for those that don't know what chèvre is, it's goat cheese. You can definitely tell it's goat cheese, so only get it if you like that kind of cheese! The food here was amazing, so I will definitely be returning. But service was just ok. My waiter was forgetful.

Overall we had a good experience but would not come back. We had the scallop crudo (very good), G Salad (good but needed a bit ore acidity), Chicken Milanesa (very good), Marinated Lamb Tenderloins (good) and the New York Steak (good). For deserts we had the the Budino which turned out a flourless chocolate cake and not the pudding-like desert that you would expect. When we pointed that out we were told that this is what they serve as a Budino - not cool! The waitress was pretty much absent during our meal - we had to use our bread plates to share the appetizer/salad. Not what you expect from this kind of restaurant.

Such a fab neighborhood restaurant! We were seated in the back room which is significantly more quiet than the front room. The food, the service, and the experience were fantastic. The portions are substantial. We each had the chicken milanese as our main course and it did not disappoint! Perfectly cooked, hot, and the potatoes and salad were excellent. I cannot say enough about the quality and value for a meal of its kind in SF. Truly fantastic. The strawberries and cream and dark chocolate mousse were out of this world. Bravo!! The staff and service were truly outstanding.

I reviewed this neighborhood gem in mid December 2017. Always like coming because it feels so cozy-- and well, it is given its size. So I won't go into all the things I wrote before. Rather this is an update. Had a lovely window table for two - fun to see all the locals coming in on a Saturday night. Greeted warmly and seated on time. Cocktails ordered Including a brought a special bottle of wine from Alban Vineyards in Arroyo Grande ( Santa Barbara. Santa Ynez)....more on this later. Waiter was pleasant and informed us he was new to Garabaldi's-- but had been a server a long time and he definitely wasn't a rookie. Ordered a split appetizer. Veggie dumplings and very tasty. Next came the Chopped salad, not my favorite but wife loves it. So I had the most delicious cauliflower soup I have ever had. Simply amazing. Not a drop of cream in it. Just puréed cauliflower and broth drizzled with a little oil and a few tiny chips of cauliflower on top. Order it. $10. Worth every penny. Next the mains-- I had grilled salmon (5 oz, maybe) cooked perfectly with a light brothy sauce. Enjoyed it, not a large dish at $34. Wife had Fresh pasta with rabbit sugo. Tasty, but...very dry. Our waiter never came back once as our food was brought to us by other servers. We couldn't flag down anyone. Frustrating and decided to let it go. After the dishes we cleared he finally came over ( my wife left to was her hands) and I mentioned to him we were disappointed he disappeared. I explained about the dish and he apologized. I simply tried to explain he needed to be attentive. Told me he had way too many tables. Not my issue. For $200 without tip I felt it was a near miss. I like this place a lot. Hope it gets better.

Garibaldi's has been one of my favorite dining experiences due to its small, intimate, and romantic atmosphere. I am probably one of the hundreds people to rave about the Chicken Milanese, but honestly it's that good! If you haven't tried it, please do and you'll never be sorry! Overall Garibaldi's is a great spot for a date but still can cater to bigger parties so just make sure to call in advance to reserve because spots fill up fast. The staff are simply professional, tidy, attentive, and so friendly.

My husband and I have been coming to Garibaldi's for a few years now; we even celebrated here after we got married last April. The service is always great, and the food is always good! Tonight the service was extra amazing the server recognized the fact that I was vegetarian and made sure to fill me in on what dishes had animal products in them. We started with a salad which was very good. I had the gnocchi as my main dish, the sauce was extraordinary! My husband had the carbonara and he said that his was awesome! I have yet to have a bad experience at Garibaldi's and will continue to dine here whenever I have the chance.

I've been going to Garibaldi's for over 20 years and my last two visits have been a disappointment..its not the same restaurant that I remember. Its changed ownership and both the service, food and wait staff are horrible. The last visit was a few nights ago and it will be the last time I dine there. Putting the rude waitress aside ... the dead rodent behind the banquet was the last straw.

I'm not gonna lie- Garibaldi's menu isn't one I would usually gravitate towards. However, my bf made a reservation for us and it was probably one of the best meals I've had all year. Note: ask them for bread! They won't give it to you unless you ask but you'll want it to soak up all the sauces from your dishes!! (or you can lick the plate too, no judgment) Garibaldi is the perfect example of a restaurant who masters limited offerings. Chicken Milanese- again, fried chicken & mashed potatoes is not something I'd usually order. But the fry they were able to get on the chicken was amazing- light and not oily. Mash was smooth and buttery, and beurre blanc had just the right amount of capers. Tagliatelle- Good balance from the acidity of the tomatoes with the heartiness of the sausage. Not the highlight of the night but still good. Grilled calamari: SO good. Calamari was small but tender. I liked how this was grilled and not fried. They also put what seemed like wonton crisps on top to mimic fried calamari. Butter beans were an interesting combo but gave it creaminess with the aioli. Gnocchi: This was really small, but worth it!! It didn't have the fluffiness from gnocchi but I almost enjoyed it more?? Mixed with pine nuts and sunflower seeds. 10/10 would order this again.

Ordered the Chicken Milanese, Marinated Lamb Tenderloins, Zucchini Fritters, Italian Street Style Corn on the Cob, Summer Squash Risotto, Acme bread with Olive Tapenade, and Meyer Lemon Panna Cotta for takeout. The Chicken Milanese came with mashed potatoes, arugula salad, and caper beurre blanc sauce. The chicken was moist and slightly crispy. The lemony caper sauce went well with both the chicken and mashed potatoes, which were creamy, buttery, and smooth. I highly recommend this dish! The Marinated Lamb Tenderloins came with couscous, string beans, and tarragon bearnaise. The dish was good but nothing stood out. The lamb was tender. $38 is a steep price to pay for what you get! The Zucchini Fritters were disappointing. The portion was small and it's wasn't anything special. Skip this dish! The Corn on the cob was okay. I could taste the aioli, the char on the corn, and the cheese. Unfortunately the corn itself wasn't very sweet. A little messy to eat but that's expected. The Summer Squash Risotto was nice since it wasn't too rich with cheese. I was disappointed with the amount of bread given with the olive tapenade, especially since it was priced at $5! I haven't bought bread from Acme before but I would like to think that I could get a longer section of baguette there for less than $5. I hardly think the amount of olive tapenade given makes up for the rest of the price. The Meyer Lemon Panna Cotta was smooth, light, and soft. It had a light lemon flavor so I think it could have used more. Maybe instead of the cooked peaches that came with the Panna Cotta, it could have came with candied Meyer lemon peel/Meyer lemon peel marmalade or something to boost up the Meyer lemon flavor.

Nesteled in the heart of a classic SF neighborhood this quiet area seems like there is no restaurant, we all most missed it. Found plenty of street parking (I was shocked) and walked in the very busy Garibaldis. The place is small but we had a table for 8. Our waiter friendly but a bit forgetful. He would walk back and forth and not bring us bread or open my wine bottle (sigh) but the ambiance and low lighting made it good for conversations. We started with the calamari that is not fried and was cooked to perfection. The heirloom tomatoes another win. Patatas bravas not spicy but good. Service with the waiter was slow but the food came out quick and the expediter did a great job. We were there till they closed. 9/23/19 We came on a Monday night to try their 30 year anniversary special menu. The place had people but not too full being a Monday. We started with a Presidio Paloma that was a citrusy grapefruit Paloma that was crisp and light. Next you choose from various options of the Anniversary menu. We had the Garibaldi salad and the Risotto croquettes. Both amazing. The salad the prefect portions of gorgonzola cheese and candied walnuts and a light vinaigrette. The croquettes a cheesy mouthful that was delightful. We said we could eat 10 of these! Main dishes were Chicken Milanese that was hearty and huge portion. Cooked crispy but not oily on top of a mash potato bed with some green and tomatoes on the side. Nearly licked my plate clean-but I kept my composure and just wiped it down with the bread. (Must be requested they don't automatically bring it out). The tagliatelle pasta a la nana with res sauce, beef and pork sausage major comfort food with pepper all through out. Very delicious and filling. Then just when we were ready to quit-dessert came. Chocolate budino amazing and decadent gooey mess with crunchy almonds. The sorbet with biscotti was too good to leave behind. I ate every bite of the biscotti and didn't even attempt to share. Service on point, great atmosphere and quiet enough to talk and catch up with my loved ones. It was a good night.

This has been a favorite of mine for over 20 years. Went back tonight and it was as magical as ever. The ambiance, the service (Nita is a gem!) and the food! Chicken Milanese is my go to....have to say the tomato salad was on point too. A true classic!

Really really sad to have to post this as Garibaldi's has been one of my top 3 favorite restaurants in SF for the past 7 years...unfortunately the hostess (short, dark hair, rude) who was working yesterday (April 27, 2022) ruined the place for me. I had a reservation for 7pm and was running a few minutes behind. I received a call from the hostess at 7:11pm informing me that if i did not arrive in the next 4 minutes that I could not sit as they offer a 15 minute grace period and that's it. I apologized and said we were 1-2 minutes away. As promised, we arrived at 7:13pm (I looked at my watch as we walked in. No one was at the hostess stand when we arrived so I waited another minute or so until a man (perhaps a waiter?) came up. I gave him my name and said we were relieved to have made it just in time for the 15 min grace period but he could not figure out how to work the reservation system. Around 7:16pm (again, looked at my watch) the hostess finally returns to the podium and informs me that we cannot sit down because "she called me at 7:15." I pulled up my call log which clearly showed that she had called at 7:11 and she told me I was wrong. Very odd as on the call she had warned me that my reservation WOULD be given away if I didn't arrive in the next 4 minutes...never told me it was being given away! I said as much and she screams "YOU NEED TO LEAVE" and then calls the police! HA! As if the police in SF don't have better things to do than deal with a party of 4 who arrived 11 minutes late for their reservation. I asked for her name and she refused to provide it. Needless to say, Garibaldi's, you have lost a loyal customer for life. I'll choose Spruce and Sociale all day every day going forward. And to the owner - you should really fire your terrible hostess. Girlfriend should never work in the service industry ever again. Until she's gone, STAY FAR AWAY.

TL:DR Used to be a good little spot, but they are over crowded, under staffed, and non-apologetic for some of the worst service I've ever experienced. We were seated quickly in a very packed restaurant (i mean very packed - could remove half the tables and it would feel almost normal). We waited 25 mins before a single person came over - no water, nothing. We could tell with the overcrowding and lack of water/service, that we we needed to order our whole meal quickly and up front. We didn't want to be there for hours (foreshadowing). Apps and entrees came out quickly and were okay, but they gave one of our friends the wrong meal (to be clear, there were four of us, not some big party where this may have been more reasonable). No apologies, just briskly rolled their eyes and took the wrong meal away. Our friend sat for 20min while the rest of the table ate and finished their meals (turns out wrong order was placed into kitchen and so they had to make my friends meal after ours had all been handed out). During all of this, never once were we checked on, asked about refills, etc. We had to get up three separate times throughout our meal to ask for water/drinks (twice, spoke to the manager re no water or service... also foreshadowing). Once the remaining meal came out, the rest of the table decided to order wine so they weren't eating/drinking alone. But again, no one came to our table. We eventually got up and asked for wine and they wouldn't serve us because the bar "just closed"! (Stupid us for not getting up earlier while our friend was eating alone to find someone to serve us wine before the bar closed.) Because of all of this, our meal took over two hours and we were very done at this point. I complained to our server, who relayed our complaint to the manger (woman at the front that sat us). I asked for 20% discount or at least a comp of the incorrect meal. She offered to comp us one drink and give us a free dessert and proceeded very rudely to tell us that she knows nothing of our complaints, that we should have spoken with her earlier (as you may recall, we did, twice... but also not our job) and that she will need to speak with the kitchen to confirm our story (mind you, this is at hour 2.25). For a $450 meal with drastically poor service, the abrasion we faced by the manager at the end took the cake. To say we are never coming back here is an understatement.

First of all when your aim for patrons is to please "Golfers" and ballet attendees makes me not want to ever go here again. Also the food and service is subpar. As an SF native I'm disappointed in Garibaldis.

Lunch: classy neighborhood establishment with healthy-light options and yummy fresh bread.

They are lucky they got one. Went there tonight with our son because they have his favorite Caesar salad. Reservation was at 5:30. When the hostess seated us she said table was reserved for 7:30, we said no problem we would be done by then. My husband and I struck up a conversation with a local couple which frequents this restaurant weekly. In the middle of our conversation at 7:05 a gal came up to our table and told us we needed to leave that our table was reserved. Looked at my watch which said 7:05 but ok we will leave. The gal next to me sad said wow that's kinda rude. I said yes but maybe a sign of the times, still wanting to support the restaurants we love. I went to the hostess and said you told me 7:30. She said I did. I said I would like to talk to the manager. She said that was the manager that took your glasses off the table and told you to leave. What? I was appalled. I said go get her. She came over, unapologetic, unprofessional, and completely rude to me and my husband. I wanted to discuss this with her outside instead of in the restaurant and she wouldn't go. She was horrible and who ever owns this restaurant should be embarrassed by how she handled this situation. I will tell every friend, and their are many that love this restaurant what happened with this manager. I don't know her name but today is 11/24/21. She is horrible. With so many restaurants struggling go to the ones that appreciate your business.

After enjoying a movie with a friend on Friday evening, Sat. March 12th, at the Vogue during the Mostly British Film Festival, we spontaneously decided to see if a table was available at this restaurant. On arrival, we approached the maitre d' who seemed reluctant to seat us. After we had settled in and started to peruse the menu, he rushed over to abruptly inform us that he had made a mistake and we had to vacate the table. Needless to say, we were both somewhat taken aback, and the disruption attracted the attention of other diners. We were about to leave when we noticed two seats at the bar and decided to take our chances. The bartender seemed to be preoccupied and distracted until my friend finally asked him if we should order from him or someone else; she asked for a menu, wine list and some water. After discussing the wine options we selected an excellent Wildoak pinot noir, however, although my friend ordered on behalf of both of us, he returned with only one glass for my friend?! I ordered what turned out to be a mediocre French onion soup (no comparison to Chez Maman or Perry's), and a side of greasy, burnt brussels sprouts. My friend ordered the lamb chops which she said were excellent. At no point were we offered a water glass refill, another glass of wine, or dessert, and we decided to leave instead. Although neither of us live in the neighborhood, we are both SF residents, and based on this uncomfortable experience, we were left wondering if the fact that we were not recognized as locals and regulars, we were considered unworthy of normal hospitality and service? Sadly, before the pandemic, this used to be a favorite restaurant. PS: We were both dress appropriately.

Garibaldi's is a small restaurant nestled amongst small businesses and residences. There is no parking and tonight no valet. We went for restaurant week which is a good way to try different restaurants often at a reduced price. We had the lamb tenderloin which was very tasty as the entreé in our three course meal. First course was a broccoli soup. Dessert consisted of profiteroles and a decadent chocolate concoction. The staff is pleasant and did a good job and gave it a feeling of a family run business, albeit we don't know if it is. It was a little hard to find in the dark and he rain. There is an area in front reserved for passenger drop off.

Took my sister there for her birthday and it was the worst food we have ever eaten. I paid a lot of money and I couldn't believe the quality. Will never never eat there again

I ordered an Italian ragu/pasta and friend ordered Asian shrimp/noodles but after expecting fine dinning as reviewed highly on Check Please Bay Area we were both shocked and disappointed simultaneously. After a few bites we both agreed that our dishes were inedible but when we told waitress appeared surprised. After sending back dish the replacements were worse with old vegetables, soggy potatoes, tasteless ,but topped again with tons of salt. the last disappointment was bread/butter with a layer of salt on top of the butter! unbelievable, unacceptable, and waste of money! not at all what I thought this longstanding SF neighborhood restaurant would serve.....Lynn

Italian style foods with some American flair, Chicken Mellizanese, with mashed potatoes with capers. with a small salad. an Upscale type of place.. A hearty dish. it's Full portion. with preseko

We had a reservation last night and right of the bet I was impressed with the host: polite. The waiter was awesome, fast and heard all of our needs/wants. Two of our friends had the risoto and they loo e it! One friend had the mussels and as she finished, she said: I could lick the plate. And the three left including myself, had the chicken parmigiana, it was absolutely delicious! I did t think I could finish that plate, for my surprise, I did it. I'll definitely return and try some of the other dishes.
