The Best Restaurants At O'Hare Airport

"Terminal 1, near Gate B8 Terminal 3, near Gate H2 Terminal 5, near Gate M18 Didn’t bring a carry-on? Sounds like a perfect opportunity to schlep a giant tin of Garrett’s onboard. Have some buttery popcorn for an appetizer and classic cheese as your entree, then finish up your mid-flight popcorn tasting menu with some CaramelCrisp. If you’re not ready to commit to the ridiculousness of snacking on a 6.5-gallon Celebration tin while watching The Expendables with a set of broken earbuds, you can also just order a personal-sized bag. " - john ringor

So glad I was able to have a connection here a stop to get me some delicious mixed black-owned popcorn🖤💛❤️💚 for my travels to Jamaica! #blackhistory #chicagomix #garrett'spopcornshop. #2.15.25 💋

Google
My go-to every time I land at or leave O’Hare! Garrett’s popcorn never disappoints, especially the caramel popcorn, my absolute favorite. Plus, the staff are always friendly and quick. I can’t wait to go back.

Google
Tried it once and we’re hooked. The caramel corn is quite sugary but it pairs well with the cheescorn. We usually combine both in one bite. The team of three working the counter were all so polite, especially the cashier! I asked for more caramel than cheese in my mix and they did it. Thank you!! Agree with the other reviewer that it’s easiest to buy at the airport so you don’t have to carry it around all day

Google
Erica was sweet and the popcorn is always great. The mix of cheese and caramel w lots of good butter is to die for and always hits the spot. The flavor is so rich and you can eat only a little at a time but it’s so worth it to get a big bag for $16 plus tax to share w everyone.

Google
This location of Garrett Popcorn is the saving grace of flying to O'Hare Airport on American. Every time I fly through this terminal, I stop here to buy the Chicago mix (half caramel, half cheese) for home and work. Made fresh in site, this is the best. If you like popcorn (and who doesn't), then you'll love Garrett Popcorn. Easiest to buy here also so you don't drag it around getting back to the airport. Best popcorn ever!

Google
Best popcorn I've ever tasted. Something of a legend in Chicago. Decent size portions as well. There's several shops around including on Navy Pier and at O'Hare airport.

Google
I’m from Texas and we love to take Garrett Popcorn back to our grandkids. 3 weeks ago my daughter was here and took 3 jumbo bags back to the DFW area for her children. Unfortunately the tornado siren went off at 5 am. As they were sheltering in place my 7 yr old granddaughter said, GRAB THE POPCORN SO WE CAN HAVE SOMETHING TO SNACK ON! Never leave Garrett Popcorn behind. My husband left a week later and took 3 jumbo bags also. Love this popcorn.

Google
This is for my HBO Insecure Series by Issa Rae watchers. The episode Lil Rell brought Yvonne (Molly) popcorn from Chicago, this is that popcorn! From my experience, it is worth being famous. I was able to try all the flavors. I was pleasantly surprised which flavor I enjoyed - Buffalo Ranch. I'm happy that the airport gave me the opportunity to try this Chicago staple.

Yelp
Really good snack. I got a small cheese corn and a small buttery corn. Only ate a little of each since I'm taking the rest home to the fam but they were both very good! It was fresh and tasty! The staff was friendly and smiling even though it was very early (before 7am!). Coat wasn't too bad at $13 for both bags of popcorn. Comparable to the prepackaged snacks at the airport but this was fresh and much better quality. Worth the cost for such a delicious treat.

Yelp
I'll start by saying the workers were friendly and the product is fine. I ordered a large bags of popcorn and specifically asked for the three caramel nut corns mixed only. I also ordered a small caramel cashew to snack on during my travel. The two nice workers put both orders in a bag and I never looked at the lager package until the next day when I got home. I discovered my request for caramel with nuts only was disregarded and there's cheese popcorn mixed in. Okay no worries Garrett will make it right... right? NOT SO MUCH!!! I entered my grievance on the website keeping it civil and professional and I received a response in very short order. Explaining. My concern hoping for an agreeable solutions the email interaction lead to a thanks but you are S.O.L. After I passed on a viable solution where I may have spent more money in an amicable resolution the re-responded with an offer giving me an option to buy a replacement. I shouldn't have to teach their customer service how to resolve issues that are mutually beneficial to both client and company. I travel very often and have passed Garrett popcorn stands all the time. My first try with this business and it was a good product but poor customer service. I won't recommend buying overpriced tourist snacks at the airport.

Yelp
If you want caramel popcorn, this is the place to go to! Unlike Nuts on Clark in Concourse C, these guys are pretty decent and put your order together quickly. The taste of their CaramelCrisp is also much better than Nuts on Clark as it has a heavier coating and much better caramel taste. Prices are reasonable.

Yelp
Had a quick layover in O'hare and decided to treat myself to a little something sweet!!! Garrett Popcorn always hits the spot!

Yelp
Bag secured. Gotta get the Garrett popcorn While in Chicago. It's one of those things that you just gotta get While waiting for your flight. I'm sure my kids will like them. It's nicely seal and secure for a long flight home. I got the classic tin with their Garrett mix which has caramel and cheesy popcorn.

Yelp
Popcorn Lords, Thanks for having a Garrett in multiple terminals and especially Terminal 3 today that somehow had no line when I ran by. You were delicious as usual and I will be back for more someday. Got your buttery popcorn, and the special edition hot cocoa mix. The ladies manning the stall were very kind especially the lady with the colorful hair, who graciously allowed me to try their cheddar popcorn too. Much love, This Yelp Foodie

Yelp
I've been to Chicago a handful of times now within the last few years, but have not gotten around to trying the famous Garrett popcorn. When I saw this on my way to my gate, I knew I had to snag a bag. I got the mix with caramel and cheese. It was the perfect snack on the plane! Some of it even made it home with me to LA. The mix of cheese and caramel is absolutely delicious. It's definitely a treat and something I'll be looking forward to going to Chicago moving forward!

Yelp
IYKYK: And Chicagoans K. When traveling through O'Hare it is always acceptable to bring Garrett's Chicago Mix to friends and family. On this visit, we got a free bag when we purchased a bucket of Chicago Mix. Though I carried that bucket all through the DC airport and shuttle (and got made fun of by Washingtonians - what do they know? ) - it was all worth it in the end -- the recipient was very happy. The scent of fresh Garrett's in the air? It draws people from all over like moths to a flame.

Yelp
I've had this popcorn that had been prepackaged and probably isn't as fresh as what I got today. I got a small that cost a little over $6. I thought it was a fair price. They have a couple of other flavors, but the traditional is a mix of cheddar and Carmel. Who knew these two flavors would pair so well. The biggest difference that I noticed from the bag that I got from the store and the one that I got today was that the cheddar was a little greasy. This was in a good way. Thank goodness the cashier added some napkins to the bag. If she hadn't done that, I'd have orange greasy pants. Definitely worth the try.

Yelp
I am probably one of the more optimistic people that you'll ever met. A few Saturdays ago, I was boarded on a flight in Minneapolis-Saint Paul heading home to Toronto. I sat on the plane with a mom who was travelling with two young boys. She didn't handle stress well when we got constant updates that Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) wasn't accepting any flights in due to weather. This woman cursed in front of her boys like a sailor. Her kids were whining and yelling no between screams and cries. We sat there for three hours before we got the official word that our flight was cancelled. I was somewhat relieved that I didn't have to sit on this plane any longer. Within thirty minutes of our flight being cancelled, I got a text message from Air Canada. I had a new itinerary. Flying out on American Airlines at 5:45 am that required paying another baggage fee and going through a baggage fee refund with Air Canada? I didn't mind it. I was thankful. Flying into Chicago where you can potentially walk around Chicago O'Hare (ORD) until your are too weary to carry on? I'll take it. Huh? If you are a popcorn lover, you know that you are doing a layover at the best airport. I was thrilled to seek out the first Garrett Popcorn Shop that I saw. I did. My eye spied this one as I hit concourse H. There was only one customer there. It made me so happy seeing so much yummy popcorn. I headed over to take a look at all popcorn flavours. The hot chocolate caramel crisp mix looked so good. I love the caramel crisp so much and craved it that I had to get it. The two woman behind the counter were nice and efficient. One got my order, which was a large bag of caramel crisp. She worked on scooping it into a paper bag, placing the bag into its signature branded paper bag, and then handing it to the other woman who placed it in a bag with handles. It may seem excessive like next Russian dolls in paper bag form, but it was all for freshness. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was done. I thanked the woman, took my popcorn, and continued heading over to concourse E. It seemed like a shorter walk over, mainly because having this popcorn in my possession energized me. While waiting for my flight to board, I had some popcorn. It was the best. It was the best reunion. This popcorn recipe didn't hold back on butter when making the amazing caramel that coated every popcorn morsel. The popcorn was crispy and delicious. I love when I get a bonus cheese straggler in my caramel crisp bag of popcorn. I felt like it was my lucky day and I needed to get a lottery ticket. Having my flight delayed made it possible to satisfy my Garrett popcorn fix. I was extremely grateful for being able to fly home on the next flight out through Chicago and grab my favourite popcorn in the process. (34)

Yelp
I am so sorry that I do not have any photos!!!! This popcorn is absolutely amazing!!!!!!! My husband had a business trip in Chicago and purchased some Garrett's popcorn at the airport before coming home, he purchased their "mix", which was cheese and a caramel corn with pecans. This is the BEST popcorn that I have ever had!!!! I'll be looking to order some online in the very near future!!!!

Yelp
A CHICAGO TRADITION 04/05/2024 Located in the Chicago O'Hare International Airport, resides this exceptional Chicago Tradition Gourmet Popcorn Establishment! My husband and I were referred to this place by our Uber driver in Chicago as he drove us to the airport. He shared with us some great places where one could eat while visiting the windy city. Well, I sure am glad that he informed us about this little gem where we could get some delicious flavored popcorn to accompany us on our flight back home to Houston. We decided to purchase the Garret Chicago Mix, which is a mixture of cheddar cheese and caramel, and was also recommended by our Uber driver. There were other flavors available like butter, buffalo, and ranch, which looked delicious as well. It was difficult walking away without being able to try all of the flavors, lol. However, I searched them on google and they have an entire website where you can order online. There are even more flavor options online and you can order large size tin cans of this stuff. Overall, hubby and I were content and comfortable on the flight back home to Houston as we snacked on our delicious mouthwatering popcorn while watching a movie. Hubby ended up falling asleep because it was so good to him, and said that "it hit the spot." Our fingers and lips were all greasy from indulging excessively and it made me think of the little slogan that's printed on the side of the shopping bag that our popcorn was placed in. It said, "Love is messy." I thought to myself, "Ohhh, that's what that means." So make sure you have plenty of napkins for your hands or you can just do what I did and lick your fingers because I swear it's mouthwatering and finger-licking good! Love really is messy, lol. While we were waiting to board our flight, I remember looking around and seeing other travelers with a Garret bag in their possession as well. My husband said, "this popcorn is addictive and very popular." I highly recommend anyone who loves delicious great tasting gourmet popcorn and you're traveling through Chicago O'Hare airport, to stop by and grab a bag for the flight. It'll comfort your soul and ease your mind. Customer service was great. The two ladies that were running the show were very friendly and welcoming, all smiles and professional. I gave this establishment five stars!

Yelp
Okay any self respecting true Chicagoan knows you can't visit the city without getting pizza or Garretts. I didn't get the pizza so I was determined not to leave without the popcorn. Luckily my beau also had that idea and the airports have locations to get that REAL cheese and caramel mix known as 'The Chicago Garrett Mix' to bring back to family and friends. Throw on the accent and the ladies are always friendly! The special flavor 'Spicy Cheese' was out (noooooooo) so couldn't try it but I am sure it was flavorful. Two mediums and a small bag run you about $25 dollars. A small price for something that is still in my house two weeks later. I mean it takes a week to get through a medium bag! And the orange cheezy hands and sticky sweet fingers make it all worth it.

Yelp
when you come to Chicago and if you like popcorn Garrett's is definitely a stop. If you're not going to downtown or to Woodfield Mall, you definitely have to stop at Garrett at the airport. They have a shop at terminal one right in the B terminal, as well as terminal three right outside of the security line. their claims of fame is the Chicago mix which is a mix of caramel popcorn, and cheddar popcorn. This is no traditional popcorn, though, as carrots is famous for the deep taste of cheddar and caramel mixed together. For a limited time they have the Buffalo ranch flavor, as well as, the Chicago based Frango mint flavor
google avatar

Shirley F.

Yelp
Love how this is conveniently located around the airport so I grab bags of popcorn as a souvenir! Service is quick and efficient, the Chicago mix is the best flavor they have! Anyways, I defintely recommend y'all stop by and grab a bag while you're in the area.

Yelp
Right near the dinosaur! Don't let the almost always present long line scare you off, the popcorn pros behind the counter keep the line moving. Garrett's Mix (aka Chicago Mix, aka caramel corn mixed with cheese corn), is a top seller and a kid and parent fave. Mixes with nuts and chocolate are pretty awesome too, but ease into things. You can get tins or bags, but be sure to leave a little room in your carry ons to get something before your flight.
google avatar

Tiffany S.

Yelp
What a perfect way to spend your 3 hour layover coming off a redeye flight that had an unfortunate medical emergency on the plane. I needed this. Hope a little bit of it makes it home to Seattle to my family! I got the famous Garrett's mix with the cheese and caramel will not disappoint. Thank you Garrett!

Yelp
I am very passionate about my popcorn. And when you're in Chicago, you must enjoy THEE popcorn of Chicago! As a daughter of a movie-buff who lovesss popcorn (like, a bag a day habit lol) you get to love it too. So when I first tried a bag of Garrett's Chicago blend years ago, I fell in love with the combo. It's something about that caramel and cheddar cheese mix that hits every single time! Garrett's has the elite recipe because the popcorn always tastes so fresh with flavors out of this world, no matter the type you choose. My personal faves are the Chicago Mix and Buffalo Ranch, major must-trys! As I was flying out of Chicago, I stumbled upon the Garrett stand and had to grab some treats to bring back to ATL. There was a young gentleman behind the counter who was so patient as I stood looking crazy for several minutes as I figured out what size and flavor I wanted, lol. I'm sure he was thinking, "Lady, there's like 5 flavors, can you hurry up?" LOL But he was so patient and kind, I appreciated it! I ended going with a medium-sized bag of the Chicago mix and what a great choice as always. It's brilliant to have this stand at ORD as Garrett's is an iconic Chicago brand and with this location, you can be transported back to Chi town with each bite. Yum!
google avatar

Vuyelwa W.

Yelp
Theee best popcorn in Chi Town actually probably in the USA! I have been wanting to try out Garrett popcorn for years and I finally did on my 4th trip to Chi Town! This was in my terminal and conveniently located right near the first few gates ! It was super popular . There were lots of people in front of me and so many choices! Fun fact they use non GMO kernels, plus it's gourmet popcorn that is handcrafted Chicago Style! It's gluten free too!!! I wanted a bit of sweet with salty so I got the local fan favorite called the Garrett Mix: a blend of their famous CaramelCrisp and CheeseCorn recipes! OMG!!! So good! So delicious ! So fresh! I can't wait to get back to Garrett's ! Was truly delicious !!
google avatar

Matt P.

Yelp
Located after security check in Terminal 2. There was a small line here, but it moved pretty fast. What's great about this place is the person that's taking the orders. She is so efficient and great at memorizing your order. She's super fast and her partner, the cashier, makes a great partner in this 2 man team. From the sign that I saw, their popcorn is being made fresh in terminal 3.

Yelp
I've been longing to visit Chicago, whether for a baseball game at Wrigley or to catch a game again at United Center. My last visit was in 1998 so a trip here is long overdue. I met up with a friend who works in SFO (San Francisco's airport for those not familiar) and he thoughtfully handed me a brown paper bag containing two transparent white bags (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=nZmI3qcQMtnkfTI9ERbuVg&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) for me to bring home. After settling next to the TV before prepping my dinner, I opened the cheese bag and started munching as I watched the news. Before you know it, 1/3rd of the bag was gone. A few days later, I started on the caramel one, again after coming home from work. I finished half of the bag before restraining myself before having dinner. At the end of the week, I started watching TV after dinner and lined both bags next to me. It was a race to see which vag I'd finish first. The caramel one, proving an unscientific point of which flavor was my favorite (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=4XvNWgyYhpcxFrhofsTcMA&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q). Thank you to my generous friend who gifted these treats to me. With the lack of popcorn places in SF (I believe the one on Kearny St. is closed now), it's been a while since I've had this variety and quality of gourmet popcorn. My trip to the Windy City is overdue.

Yelp
I have visited Garrett's from time to time when I have a Chicago layover. Today's experience was memorable, because it reminded me of the Soup Nazi Seinfeld episode. "NO SOUP FOR YOU!" Today's episode starred the Popcorn Nazi. "NO POPCORN FOR YOU!" There were 2 ladies at the stand today. It was Jekyll and Hyde. One was sweet and the other sour. Sheesh. Miss Hyde didn't want to answer any customers' questions. Grumpy to the max. Barked for the next customer to move up. Clearly, her intention was to be efficient as she was quite robotic with no personality. However, we are in the Midwest...a smile would be nice. Anyway, a 5 for the popcorn and X for Hyde. If you meet Hyde, just point, pay and be on your way!

Yelp
Erica was sweet and the popcorn is always great. The mix of cheese and caramel w lots of good butter is to die for and always hits the spot. The flavor is so rich and you can eat only a little at a time but it's so worth it to get a big bag for $16 plus tax to share w everyone.

Chicago popcorn at Chicago airport Took out large size of caramel and cheese flavor and was very addictive!

Yelp
Always a go to when we visit Chicago. A great reminder of home. We tried the new spicy version and it was delicious.

Neleh H.

Yelp
Yummy Chicago mix conveniently located right after security, so u can grab some to take home. Sunday night this was clearly the most popular shop. It's kinda pricey if you want the cute souvenir tins, but otherwise prices are totally airport reasonable. I just got 2 Chicago mix bags w no tin & they put it in a waxed bag to prevent any oily leaks. They got $5 pre packaged bags in 4 flavors so I got 1 S'mores- don't know how it tastes yet. Felt bad for the women working coz it was non stop hecka busy- more staffing help or the option to tip in the credit transaction would be good.
google avatar

Gerry T.

Yelp
Why haven't I rated this convenient location sooner?? I fly American often and this is very close to Starbucks. The line goes very quickly so there's really no excuse not to get some. Friends and family love receiving Garrett's upon arrival, so I usually get a few bags of the Chicago mix (caramel and cheese popcorn). I also like to snack on a bag while in flight, which can create problems with Orange fingers. :)
google avatar

Candace L.

Yelp
I swing by this Garrett's popcorn every time I'm leaving from Chicago. We'd just been in town for the Chicago marathon and I told my bestie, not to worry about getting popcorn in the city - we'd just grab some on our way home before our flight. Well, it turns out Garrett's had closed at 7p and when we arrived we couldn't secure the bag. I felt awful, after specifically telling him no to buying it sooner and now we couldn't get it at all. I was ready to Venmo someone in the terminal for their bag. I knew we'd be back in this airport the following week, so I told him - no matter what, we will get your popcorn on our layover. Sure enough, we landed in Chicago with a few minutes to spare until boarding our flight to Greece, and bee lined for Garrett's. Made the perfect snack for movie watching on a flight to Athens. I'd highly recommend the Chicago mix of caramel and cheese. Yumm yumm yumm! If you have an evening flight out of ORD, make sure to purchase your Garrett's in advance as their location in the airport will not be open.

Yelp
Name your top three "last meal on Earth" foods. Now, name the one food you would bring to a deserted island if you could only bring one food with you. Both of my lists would probably include Garrett's Chicago Mix. That might be a bit hyperbolic but if I had three wishes from a Genie in a bottle one of them might be to eat as much Garrett's popcorn as I want without getting fat. There's just something magical about the salty-sweet balanced flavor of cheese corn and caramel corn eaten in handfuls. I'm not alone in my opinion of course as the famous mix has been a staple for decades. According to lore, popcorn lovers who bought Garrett's popcorn actually 'invented' the mix of cheese and caramel corn by buying two flavors and asking for a third bag whereupon they'd mix it themselves. The company caught on and added it to their menu circa 1977 and the rest is belly-busting history. The only criticism I have of Garrett's is that they're not located in every location I want them to be.
google avatar

Reshonda W.

Yelp
You can't go to Chicago and not get this popcorn. I always get the Chicago mix which is cheddar cheese and caramel. Just perfection!. Line was short and staff was friendly!
google avatar

Oh, I Ceeee U.

Yelp
last time I'm ordering anything from them! First off it's not cheap, then you wait in excitement anticipating some of the best popcorn money can buy And Nope! Not even close. Ordered two tin cans worth, one came with a dent but heck I can forgive that. then you open to taste and all you get is stale popped corn so bad that you barely can chew it down to swallow. Where has the quality gone with this company? Call them up and it's like pulling teeth to get decent customer service. First they want pictures as if someone is trying to scam them or something. Then it's the silent treatment until you realize that they haven't gotten back to you yet. Then it's "send it back the way you got it". What happened to sorry, or here is a shipping label for your inconvenience? Sorry, almost for got about how nasty the burnt caramel was in the mix. It was unforgettable to be honest. Corn was bitter tasting which means burnt. Needless to say the way this costly purchase has turned out so far has caused me to never ever go back to buy from them again. l've purchase from them in multiple locations and the quality has dropped across the board. Good luck if you decide to waist time with this popcorn company again.

Yelp
There was already a line formed before they opened at 7am. So , that's saying a lot! I absolutely LOVE Garrett popcorn. I purchased a large mix and a small cashew caramel crisp. I've had these flavors before but it's been awhile. I have also placed online orders several times as well. I thoroughly enjoy the freshness and flavor of their popcorn. It's such a well made product to say the least! Although there was a line , the service was fast and friendly! This is the location inside of the Chicago airport, so I felt the prices were reasonable. There was NOWAY I was going to be in Chicago where Garrett originated and not stop here. Definitely was worth it!!
google avatar

Shivali D.

Yelp
What's not to love about Garrett's popcorn? Synonymous with Chicago, I picked it for friends I was visiting when catching a flight out of terminal 3. It is located just past the security check and adjacent to the H gates. No samples at this location but most people know what they want already. Pricing is obviously higher due to the airport liberties but convenient nonetheless to have it be available to gift fresh popcorn. First responder, medical personnel discount is available with proof! One star off only because employees are not as friendly as your city shops.
google avatar

Lauren F.

Yelp
I got there earlier in the morning before (or maybe after) the rush I hear so much about. Either way, there was no line! Everyone told me I had to try Garrett's Chicago Mix. The night before, they showed up at my work event, and I got a free bag and LOVED it! So yes, I was stopping here on my way to my gate. I grabbed the biggest size I could afford and planned on savoring it once I got back home to Texas. It was gone before I even got to bed that night. So, so good!
google avatar

Ange R.

Yelp
The best popcorn!! Get the chicago blend (caramel and cheese). Wish there was one in my hometown!

Yelp
Wasted Money. I ordered the cheese and caramel mixed. I was very disappointed that my popcorn was stale. It tasted like they made it the night before. The girls behind the counter were rude and unprofessional. I just don't understand what happen to good service. Poor quality taste and terrible service.

Yelp
While there isn't much to like about O'Hare airport, having Garrett popcorn there is a very nice treat! I actually almost forgot to grab some before leaving chicago, and only remembered after getting to my gate. Luckily, garrets is located in multiple terminals and open until 8pm. A short walk from my gate over to garrets was well worth it. The line was relatively short, but there wasn't a lot of popcorn left at 7pm. My only option was cheese or caramel. I ordered 2 large bags of the chicago mix. The ladies serving and taking orders were nice, but you could tell it had been a long day and were ready to go home as I tried making small talk and they really weren't into it. Packaging was perfect for traveling with and the prices were decent. I waited until I got home to taste the amazingness. Unfortunately the cheese popcorn in the mix was quite stale. The caramel was just fine, but I asked to have more cheese than caramel, so most if the bag is stale. I'm so bummed. I'm hoping next time it's a little better. Still giving 3 stars as I know garrets has the potential to be awesome.

Yelp
5 stars for the popcorn, 3 stars for service. Honestly, the Garrett's staff at the airport locations are really not pleasant people, but I gotta cut them some slack too - I'm sure it's hard work and when were there at 7:30 AM on Tuesday morning after Thanksgiving, the electronic system was down and it was cash only. My bf had to run to the ATM in order for us to order 3 bags of popcorn. Other than that, the popcorn is delicious, albeit a bit heavily seasoned at this location (you kinda get over that, handful after handful). Seriously, one of the best snacks out there, and definitely should be up there as an American icon like the ballpark frank. If you're someone who "doesn't like popcorn" like myself, you just have to give it a try. You still "won't like popcorn", but you'll LOVE Garrett's.

Yelp
Love the Carmel Cheese mix. We stop at this booth every time we're in O'Hara. A large bag makes a great gift when visiting friends anywhere. We get a bag for home on the way back. Veterans get a 15% discount. Yea!

Yelp
A caloric nightmare but a snack lover's dream, the popcorn from Garrett is always a treat. I've come to expect lesser of most airport locations, even for this popcorn (#1) but I'm happy to know that the motherland (Chicago) does it right. This little shop is located just after security gates in Terminal 3 on Concourse H. It's one of the more colorful Garrett Popcorn locations I've seen and the intoxicating smell is too difficult to ignore. Unlike other micro shop locations, I am pretty sure the popcorn is made here since they have a kitchen in the back. A pro tip: sample all the flavors if possible. There is a (huge) chance a line will develop and don't be afraid to mix the popcorn together for the ultimate treat (#2). The folks behind the counter are usually pretty enthusiastic and provide really good customer service. The popcorn doesn't come cheap of course; there's a slight markup with the airport locations, but beggars can't be choosers for some of the best popcorn out there. This will make a delicious airport snack or a gift on the go. It certainly beats having to go into the city to get some of this, so I consider any encounter here one of convenience. ___________ (#1) I'm looking at you, Dallas. https://www.yelp.com/biz/garrett-popcorn-shops-irving (#2) Go sweet and salty. Caramel and cheese.

Yelp
I was at a conference in Chicago and my welcome bag had a small bag of Chicago mix from Garrett's. Well, that was that. I ended up having it 3 different times on my week long conference. And I still want more! The popcorn is labeled as best when eaten soon. So that "motivated" me to finish that first bag in one night. I am not a big mixed popcorn/flavors person but this stuff is truly addictive. And the cheese does stain your fingers but they often give you a wet napkin. I ended up getting the summer travelers deal of a medium bag and medium tin to carry home for $25. I should have shelled out for more! My family loved it and we are done. The terminal 3 location makes popcorn for the terminal 1 site. When flying out of terminal 2, I first went to 1 and they were out of cheese! Thankfully I had time (I've heard some people have missed their connections because of wanting Garrett's) and checked 3, which I should have gone to from the start. Also, a crazy observation- an older woman who was flying through ohare and needed wheelchair service made her attendant stop here so she could pick some up. I seriously hope she bought some for the young mans kind patience, in addition to her own!

Yelp
Garrett's Popcorn is a mood. It is any mood you are in. Need something sweet? Garrett's caramel popcorn. Need a savory snack? Garrett's cheddar popcorn. Indecisive? Garrett's mix. If you think that you don't like popcorn then you haven't tried Garrett's. It is the most buttery, delicious popcorn you will ever try. The popcorn Gods have blessed Garrett's with a craveworthy selection. If you have problems with self-control then believe me get the small size because you will eat the whole bag. If you are going to buy a tin as a souvenir for a very lucky person then go ahead and treat yourself too, you deserve it for your generosity. I have no complaints only love for Chicago's most loved treat, and probably most famous right after deep dish pizza and Chicago dogs.

Yelp
I've heard of this spot,, specially from all of the Garrett snoots. So this time I get to try it out for real. It's pretty busy here, so do expect a line. I did the Chicago mix with the cheddar. It's pretty good,, nice and buttery. Perfect blend of sweet and savory. Although I have to be honest, the caramel is a little too sweet for my liking. The place looks great, they definitely have a nice system going on. Specially the sight lines to the kitchen where you can them make the popcorn, so you know it's pretty fresh. The employees were very nice. Area is super clean. I would totally get popcorn here again if given the chance. Thank you so much for reading my review. I hope this helps with your decision making experience. Enjoy your awesome yelptastic day!!!

Yelp
Whenever I fly through Chicago it's a must to stop at Garrett Popcorn. Today I got a medium bag of caramel crisp with cheese corn, the best mix! If you're lucky enough to sit next to me on the plane...I just might share ;-). Hey had a new flavor which seemed interesting, Buffalo Ranch! Might have to try that my next flight. I know we have Garrett's in Las Vegas but it just feels better getting some fresh popped popcorn in Chicago! Give em a try and have the original Chicago tradition since 1949!

Yelp
The service was dry. The popcorn was not. Ordered the almond caramel popcorn. The nut to popcorn ratio was great, the best I have EVER had. Lucky that this was my last stop before heading out of Chicago. A little on the pricey side, but worth it.

Yelp
Anyone who has been to a Garrett's Popcorn Shop knows that there is nothing better. Anywhere. Well, at least anywhere in most of the major US cities I've traveled to because I try caramel corn everywhere I go! Seriously, it is crunchy, sweet and not sticky at all! You never have big clumps of stuck together caramel corn with Garrett's either! I'm not sure how they do it, but it must have something to do with those huge copper barrels in the back that dry it all sonit doesn't stick. You can reach in and get individual pieces like you're eating popcorn at the movie theatre-only better because it's wrapped in caramel!! The prices range from $4.50 up to giant tins that you can reuse as a stool in your apartment when you're done! They also have cheese corn that's delicious - especially when mixed WITH the caramel corn! Or pecan caramel corn, or cashew caramel corn (Not for me, I'm a purist!) but people in line were raving about it. Only at O'Hare, so don't be fooled at Midway Airport by a very greasy fake. Nothing is like Garrett's!

Yelp
"Chicago Mix".......need I say more? I could start and end this review with those words but I'll say a few more words. For openers, due to legalities it is no longer called "Chicago Mix"....the name had to be changed to Garrett Mix. That said, it will always be "Chicago Mix" to me. It's sort of like calling the Sears Tower by some other name....Willis Tower? Anyway, let's to get to this review....if you've never had Garrett Popcorn, I highly recommend ordering the "Chicago Mix" (you will thank me later). It's a mixture of cheddar and caramel flavored popcorn that no that no one has been able to match. A few places come close but it's not quite the same. Mumble the words Chicago-Mix and anyone who knows popcorn will instantly know you're talking about Garrett Popcorn. Yes, it's that serious. If cheddar and caramel aren't your preference, they also offer other options some which include a variety of nuts (almonds, cashews, pecans, etc.) They also have seasonal popcorn available throughout the year. While most of the Garrett Popcorn Shops are located in downtown Chicago, there are a few placed throughout the Chicagoland area. Of the locations outside of downtown, two are located at O'Hare Airport; this one which is in Terminal 3 (American Airlines) and another in Terminal 1 (United Airlines). The staff at this location (Terminal 3) does a great job. There is usually a line of 5-10 people but they do a good job in keeping it moving. They demonstrate a great deal of patience with those experiencing Garrett for the first time; every question is answered with smile. Another thing I've noticed is they never seem to run out of popcorn. The only time I've seen them not have plenty of everything is whenever I take a flight that departs around the time they close. Otherwise, there's plenty to go around. If you want a tasty snack to consume on your flight be sure to stop by here before boarding. Otherwise, enjoy that awesome bag of pretzels served by the airline. And remember, order the "Chicago Mix".....you can thank me later.
