Houston’s Best Kid-Friendly Restaurants | Eater Houston

"Levy Park, one of the city’s most beloved local playgrounds, is even more inviting with this family-friendly kiosk. It’s easy to turn a typical park visit into a full-day outing. The dedicated kids menu features crowd-pleasers like quesadillas, hot dogs, and fries, while refreshing treats such as shaved ice, snow cones, aguas frescas, and inventive fruit bowl combinations. Stop by on Tuesdays for tacos priced at $1.69 each, available when you order at least five." - Brianna Griff

Google
spend $70 for this , which i get it .it can be pricey for the area but $12 for the shrimp tostilocos 5 shrimps ? really 5 shrimps ?? this is ridiculous, for respect i didn’t say nothing . i didn’t want other people to hear me . Mexican hot dog is Winnie , Mayo , Ketchup, Onion and bacon . this was not a mexican hot dog at all . gaspacho & mangonada were good. Nice Atmosphere.

I love this place! The food is amazing, the music creates such a fun atmosphere, and the ladies who work here are always super nice and welcoming. Even my dog loves it here — the chicken is his favorite! Definitely one of my go-to spots.

I came here tonight on my bike ride, the food was so good. It's right by the park with plenty of seating. Service was excellent and quick ,my favorite thing was the lime cucumber and chia seed juice.

Google
Definitely an authentic Mexican street taco place with many options for food and drink. Definitely pricey for the portion size. Also, it is next to a dog park.

Google
A great little hidden gem perfectly located next to a green space & playground so you can let your kids run around while you enjoy a margarita and food! They always have fun music playing, the food is surprisingly great! Love the tacos, ceviche and birria quesadilla. They even have a kids menu!

Google
Great location at Levy Park!! I enjoyed the margaritas and tacos for taco Tuesday. Happy hour specials, and Levy Park is beautiful. Highly recommend!!❤️

Google
The Levy park location is nice. Plenty of seating outside. You order via the kiosk or QR code. Our food was tasty and fresh. The green sauce went perfectly with my taco. We only spent around $25 for 2 people.

I used to come here often because it’s convenient to the dog park. The food is alright and the drinks are really good, but the prices don’t match what you’re getting, and other food trucks offer better value. Today’s service sealed it for me. I had to order through the QR code even though the staff member was standing right in front of me, but she still took an addon verbally, so she clearly could take orders. When my food was ready, she called over a family for them to pickup their food but set my order aside, even though I’d been sitting at the bar the whole time. It took longer than usual, and if I hadn’t asked, I doubt I would’ve gotten it. She was just busy scrolling on her phone. This will definitely be my last time here, which is a shame given the convenience.

Yelp
The owner Jennifer is very professional in communication for the coordination for the catering. I brought them to the Metropolitan Multi-Service Center on West Gray, to give out free food to the homeless and the disable people, and the staff who work there. I contribute with my own money to make sure there will be enough food for everyone. It was a great turn out and everyone I talk to really love it. To where they want to request for this truck to come every week. The elote (Mexican street corn) was still nice and warm when they serve it to me and I eat it like 30 minutes later. the fruit was big portion the agua fresca very tasty. The staff that was working that day was very professional. I would come back and try other food they also offer.

Yelp
This is located within Levy Park, next to the dog parks. We decided to grab something to eat and went with this as it was the closest to where we were. You have to order from a kiosk on the side, and also pickup in the same area. Definitely overpriced for what you get, especially the street tacos. It was mini street tacos so really small for $12, not worth it. The hot dog wasn't anything special as well. We were all still hungry after. They do have a happy hour so it might be better then, but I'd probably try the other places to eat at the park instead next time.

Yelp
We took the advantage of Tuesday tacos to visit the place since they claim to have $1.50/taco. When we were there and ordered the food and was told told to order at least 5 tacos which is no problem since it's super small. When we paid we realized they over charged us to $1.69 and not $1.50 and when we inquired about it the lady blamed on the system pricing on the iPad. It's not about the 19 cents per taco but more of an honesty of the place. You have to follow what you advertised. The lady saw that we questioned about it so return back $1.30 for the 7 tacos. Food was good and the mangonada was small but overall it was OK.

Yelp
The service was nonexistent. We came on a Thursday, and a woman at the cashier told us just to order from the kiosk. We ordered 2 birria elotes and Salchipapas. Based on the description, we thought we were getting loaded fries with sausages and delicious elotes. We were wrong. The fries came with just sausage on top, there was no ketchup, no crema, and no salsa. Like who is eating fries and sausages?? The birria elote was $8 each and it was just yellow corn and birria on top. There was no queso, mayonesa, valentina, or toppings. Spent $30 for this. This was super disappointing.

Yelp
I visit Levy Park often. Decided to try some food and it was a fail. We had the kids cheese quesadillas, chicken fries, street corn and a margarita. I even ordered an extra shot of tequila and the margarita was still gross. Overall the food was a 1/5. The service was excellent. 5/5 I would suggest turning the music down or getting a microphone because when the workers call the names on the order you can't hear them. There was a lot of food just sitting around.

Yelp
I was looking for something to eat in the middle of my day in an unfamiliar part of the city to me. I knew I wanted birria and found this palace. I was able to order online in the middle of my meeting and walk up to get my food with no problems. The seating area was nice and I also saw they had a kids menu and a bar. Cannot wait to go back and bring my little ones.

Yelp
Horrible! Scam! 20$ and I got nothing to eat! I thought share portions with my daughter. It does NOT feed even 9 years old child!

Yelp
This newer spot inside Levy Park is a great idea. Checked it out today for the first time. Let's start with the pros.... great menu selection, excellent location and tasty food. Cons... terrible customer service, and over price items. As someone that has been in the restaurant business I can honestly say this business would thrive if it hired smiling faces, trained their employees to greet customers apon approaching the stand, make eye contact, and thanked them for coming. Most people were ordering from the self- order section on ipads which is great; however not everyone will be aware of this option so when a customer approaches the bar section, greet them and offer to take their order and also give the option of ordering via ipads or by scanning their QR code. Invest in a microphone system or pagers to announce customers orders are ready for pickup. Pagers are on average $150 on Amazon by the way. The lady working kept screaming out names but this is an outdoor establishment, it's naturally loud and customers cannot hear their names called. The gentleman that was working today seemed to be working on other duties rather than picking up food that was ready at the window. I was looking at my drink and food just sitting there while he passed by several times before I pointed to the food. Uniforms would make employees look more presentable as one employee was in a worn out Gaspachos shirt with bleach stains everywhere as the other one was in casual clothing. Consistently is key in any business especially restaurants. With adequate training and the right staff this place would be a solid 4 star... just needs some work.

Yelp
My daughter, mother and I had lunch here after playing in the park and I was so surprised at how amazing it was. The chips and guac were to die for; homemade chips which made it so much better. Their guac is chunky and has cucumber in it which I would have never thought would be something to put in it but boy was it SO good; it is heavy on the lime so just a fare warning but I like my guac with a lot of lime. Mom had the Mexi Fries with Birria meat and chefs kiss on that. Their fries were crispy and the meat was super flavorful. It was also a HEAPING of food. Last I had the lime cucumber agua fresca which was recommended by the woman on duty and that was so perfectly tart, refreshing and a little sweet. 100% recommend.

Yelp
No transparency in the prices, published promotions are not honored, the quality and quantity of the food has gone down from the first time I visited them.

Raquel G.

Yelp
ABSOLUTELY loved the food here!! I drove all the way from Conroe to Levy park to try this place for the first time and it is a drive I would happily make over and over again!!!

Yelp
I take my dog to the dog park regularly and today was my first time trying Gaspachos which did not disappoint! I had the crazy cucumber (I think that's what it's called), my mouth was salivating before I even tasted it. I found my new obsession! 5/5
