This darling is located in the narrow streets of the Goldgasse district, just a short walk from the Residence. Situated at the base of the Hotel Goldgasse, in the morning, they offer breakfast, but the real charm emerges in the evening when the glow of the lamps beckon you delightfully from the street into its charming and cozy interior. It has a charming rustic feel that feels a little upscale at the same time.
The menu is not extensive, but the items they have, they execute well. The fried chicken, is not like the traditional fried chicken that we Americans have come to love, but more of a wiener schnitzel type execution, just with chicken. So if you're ready to bust out some hot sauce and a side of coleslaw, hold back there cowboy. This dish is a bit more elegant and mighty tasty. If you get in early enough (before 5:30pm), they sometimes still have the beef goulash served with delicious bread, which I would recommend on colder days. I don't think I ever saw more than 2-3 parties dining at the same time while we were there (early March), but this may change some during summer months. If you're staying at the hotel upstairs and feeling lazy, this place is a great solution.
