At Gather, savor creative Californian cuisine with seasonal delights, from amazing pizzas to refreshing cocktails, in a cozy, inviting atmosphere.
"Gather is the type of place that’s mocked on Portlandia: everything is from a local farm (and they make sure you know it), they use a lot of recycled materials, and the building is, according to them, the greenest in Berkeley. All that might make you expect some sort of bland health food, but that’s not what’s going on here at all. The main attraction is actually the pizza, which is more like flatbread topped with fresh vegetables and meats. The space is bright and welcoming, and has an upscale but unpretentious feel. Come for dinner with your parents." - Amy Clark
"It’s no surprise that Berkeley’s most sustainably designed restaurant also focuses heavily on sourcing from reputable farmers and ranchers, butchering whole animals, and providing plenty of vegan options. The thin, crispy pizzas are always a good option." - Janelle Bitker
"Gather, among other Berkeley restaurants and businesses, signed a letter in support of the new ordinance." - Janelle Bitker
"Gather is offering a deal for New Year’s Eve: chef Anthony Lee’s usual a la carte menu with 25 percent off all bottles of sparkling wine and Champagne." - Janelle Bitker
"Located inside a LEED-certified building, hyper-sustainable restaurant Gather offers few dining options for large groups hankering for its Californian cuisine. The open-air patio — with a fire pit lounge — seats 24 guests. The bar area can be reserved for 30 people, standing, drinking, and nibbling on bites. And groups of 24 to 40 guests can be seated on a semi-private, separate end of the main dining room." - Janelle Bitker
