We had an amazing experience at Gatsby’s Prime Seafood! The ambiance was breathtaking!! Very clean! Food was great! We ordered the Red fish and Branzino fish for our Entree! They both were great but my favorite was the Branzino. The amount of crisp on the skin was perfect! It’s exactly how I love it! The devil eggs were really good as well! I have to mention our waiter, Thomas who provided us with THEE BEST service ever!!! I will always remember him for how he served us. I’ve been to restaurants in the past where it’s either one of two things that kept me you coming back. It’s either the service or the food. For us it was both! Great job guys! I highly recommend! We can’t wait to come back!

Wow. Wow. Wow. Just WOW’d! I made the reservations for this place initially and accidentally drove to the steakhouse. So I got back in my car and drove to the seafood restaurant, only realizing I meant to go to the steakhouse. Let me just say this was one of the BEST MISTAKES I made in my life. The wonderful waitress shared the mix up with I’m guessing the manager. The gentleman came to the table and offered us a wonderful accommodation. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. The ambience was beautiful and the service was SUPERB. I told my fiancé before we received our food that I would be back off service alone. Then we received our food, it was easily one of the best steaks I’ve ever had! Cooked to perfection and the toppings really set it off. Drinks were great ! The bread was amazing ! Your water glass never gets less than 3/4 of a glass. It’s truly a must visit restaurant. Thank you all !

My husband and I had lunch at Gatsby’s Seafood today. The service was excellent, the foods were delicious with beautiful presentations. I especially loved the Campechana for appetizer, and the Lobster Roll. The manager Ben and the wait staffs were all knowledgeable. The interior is beautiful, love the chandeliers too.

Google
It is an upscale restaurant. The staff are very friendly and the service is amazing. We ordered two drinks, dirty martini and passion fruit lemon drop martini. Both were fabulous. For appetizer we had Campechanna. it was refreshing and delicious. One of the bests. For the main course my husband ordered halibut with carb topping which was one of the bests. It was so tender as if it was marinated in butter. I had lobster tail. The lobsters tail was a disappointment, overly cooked. For sides we ordered Brussel sprouts and potato. Sprouts were mushy and not good. Potato was delicious.

This is one of our go to places. While the vibe is upscale, the staff are amazingly down to earth always ensuring that every experience is awesome! The food and service is on point and the cocktails are amazing. We don’t mind the valet service especially given some other spots having to deal with break ins. We trust our vehicle is good hands!! Special thanks to Patrick, Jerrod and Mark for everything!!

Went here for a romantic date night and it delivered! Perfect lighting and noise level. Love the royal blue and gold decor. Oscar (waiter) offered superb service. The oysters Rockefeller were amazing 👏🏾 as were our main courses. Redfish and Branzino. Definitely returning!

Google
Ooo the food was so delicious. I had the branzino and Brussels - highly recommend both. The table had the chicken, crab cakes, steak, deviled eggs and oysters. All were highly raved except the steak so... stick to seafood! Decor was cute and stylish. Great for a special occasion. They even printed a special birthday menu for us! Valet was 10 and not optional (this should really be complimentary at the price point for dinner). And service was kind but slow. Key lime was mid but complimentary for the birthday so that was nice. Drinks were pretty but just ok. Hubby rates this a 4. We would still return for the food.

Google
Great experience and even better food. The cocktail options are great and the service was excellent all throughout. The deviled eggs are a must try. Will definitely visit again!

Yelp
Despite being one of the more anticipated fall openings of Fall 2022, Gatsby's Prime Seafood was a short-lived experiment that practically ended just as after it began. The potential was there, but it's never fun to see a place that never lives up to it. Less than a year in operation, Gatsby's Hospitality Group decided to shut it down. The atmosphere of the restaurant had old school vibes with a faux scintillating flair, complete with lounge-like seating and a very sexy bar. It was a date night type establishment exuding the kind of ambiance that gets lost in most places in the neighborhood. The food also had potential. Overpriced seafood was to be expected, but a healthy mix of shellfish creations and culinary flair should have been well received. The offerings were fancy, but the execution was never quite what they were hoping for. There were a lot of inconsistencies with basic things such as their shrimp cocktail, various lobster dishes, and seared ahi tuna. However, some of their crazy, poached fish, and caviar selection warranted a big thumbs up. Something tells me the staffing turnover was enormous and a lot got lost along the way. Even when I was enjoying my meals, the service snafus sullied the experience somewhat and it became hard to take the place seriously given its price point and slight pretension. The valet parking has their issues as did the hostesses. I suppose the writing was on the wall. I'm not sure what the Gatsby hospitality folks are doing, but I'm hoping the sudden closures of Gatsby's Grill and Gatsby's Seafood don't mean there are more places closing on the horizon.

Yelp
Girls Night Out! Ambiance- decor is pretty and lighting is very intimate. IG worthy has some may say. Service- the staff was very friendly and was able to any questions we did have Food- we were definitely underwhelmed with our main courses (halibut, scallops with sides of Brussels sprouts, lobster Mac, and creamed corn brûlée). The highlight of our food was the deviled eggs! So delicious and definitely recommend. Drinks- this place earned most of their stars because of the cocktails. Made to perfection. I had an old fashioned and my friends tried the strawberry lemon drop (good) and the lychee martini. Overall, great for cocktails and apps.

Yelp
Four stars only because the service took forever but the FOOD...! The food never ever disappoints! This place is just as delicious as the steak house. The ambience is blue and gold and they kept their marbled Gatsby's theme. The drinks are delicious. The food is so delicious words fail to describe it! The salmon and rainbow trout were cooked to perfection! The Brussel sprouts were crispy, light, and fresh! Now that brûlée corn is the reason you come here! It's so delicious and unique. It's honestly one of the reasons we come back! You can't find it anywhere but Gatsby's! The price is well worth the quality of the food! Treat yourself to a great meal and a nice night out!

Yelp
Came here for dinner for a late birthday celebration. Things I loved: The interior is so over the top with the blue and beautiful shade of gold going through it. The food!!!! Almost every single dish that I had there was absolutely phenomenal! Especially the filet! I do not like key lime pies but omg they made a convert out of me with their amazing take on it! Creme brûlée. What else can I say?! Just get it!!! Things that I was not a fan of: $10 for valet and no self parking options. The mac and cheese was a little grainy :/ Our server was also the bartender and running around for at least 1/4 of the restaurant taking orders and making drinks. Honestly, it's quite an accomplishment how well she did everything but I felt really bad for her! Overall, amazing vibe, great food, and an elevated yet relaxed atmosphere!

Yelp
I was really expecting a lot more just like their steakhouse restaurant on Montrose... really wanted to like this place. Unfortunately, it wasn't what I was expecting. 1. Customer service was great. Our waiter was very attentive. 2. The atmosphere was nice. 3. Deviled eggs are delicious must try. 4. Absolutely loved the bread pudding dessert. 5. We had crabcakes The size was great, but the taste wasn't there. Husband and I had the Seabass and my daughter had the salmon. Unfortunately, they just weren't good. Side note: maybe since they're new they're just finding their way, but for now I wouldn't recommend.

Yelp
I can see this place being the "it" place to go! So my husband surprised me with a date night to Gatsby ! This place is super chic and cute ! Upscale vibes with plenty of seating and open feel. The outside exterior has great curb appeal! Valet is $10 we went on Sunday and it was pretty dead so no point in valeting but as this place gets popular I definitely can see you needing to. Apps : Deluded Deviled Eggs: 8/10 loved the flavors ! Who doesn't like shrimp on top of their deviled eggs . Only issue I had was the bbq save was a little strong tasting compared to the whole app. And the egg was cold while the shrimp was hot . I wish it were both hot idk felt weird going into my mouth Scallops: 8/10 delicious! One had more seasoning then the other but delicious all together. For those who aren't use to scallops you only get 2 so yes that is the price for 2 Meal: Crab cakes : 8/10 delicious!!! Wasn't fishy , placed together nicely . Just over all good meal Steak : 7/10 it would have been rated higher but my husband ordered medium well and it was totally well done . He said it was still good . He added the jumbo shrimp and it was JUMBO! Delicious Sides: lobster Mac 7/10 it was good but cheese was a bit runny and wish it had a crunch topping Loaded mash : 9.5 /10 absolutely delicious !!! Dessert : creme brûlée 6/10 we had it to go so the playing look unappetizing and was extremely small Service 8/10 water never was empty , server was prompt and friendly , manager came to check on the table . What I loved the most is they serve your sides for you. I loved that! This place will definitely go far! Things to tweak - I would like them to serve bread or something because there was quite a time between apps and the meal. As the restaurant gets busy I can see ppl getting impatient and super hungry I've already expressed the concerns of the two temp eggs and the Mac and cheese needing a bread crumb finish I would also like to note the music needs to be a little different it kind of just plays whatever. I heard contemporary gospel at one point and then regular chill radio music it really didn't flow and the music can really help with the ambiance

Yelp
Gatsby Prime Seafood I came here last Tuesday evening for a friend's birthday dinner. Im they offered valet parking for a charge or I was given the option to park in the back of the lot for no charge. Upon entry, the restaurant is very nice and aesthetically pleasing. The furniture and ambiance is very cute as the lights are dim and it appears modernly elegant. There wasn't a lot of patrons in the restaurant when we went so I'm not sure if that's because it was a late Tuesday evening but that meant we hear a great customer service became we had a couple of waiters to assist with our party and a man whom I believe may have been the manager also checked on us frequently ad well so that was greatly appreciated. for my appetizer, I ordered what I believe was the spiedini oysters and I had the deluxe deviled eggs. The oysters were pretty good if that's your jam but the deviled eggs were freaking amazing!! Highly recommend! For my meal, I ordered the sea bass topped with the Oscar (which basically is crab meat and broccolini) and a side of Mac and cheese. This is where things got a little disappointing. There was absolutely NO TASTE in my sea bass AND my Mac and cheese. I felt like it was seasoned without any salt which is so unfortunate because it was cooked well but that means nothing if to doesn't taste good. The added crab meat and my request for table salt was the saving grace but I probably wouldn't order it again. A lot of the other guest enjoyed their food so this could just be a one off so I encourage you to give them a try for yourself as everything else about the establishment was nice.

Yelp
Great food. Everything was fresh and tasted amazing. But importantly, our waiter was very knowledgeable about everything on the money. Had some great recommendations for food choices and we did not regret one thing. The Canadian oysters were amazing, crab cake was full with crab and very limited breadcrumbs, shrimp was massive but so amazing. Drinks were very good. Great spot for a date night

Yelp
SO GOOD. I was happy to try this location out after going and being highly impressed by their Prime Steakhouse restaurant. I loved the inside of the restaurant. It was very nice inside and well decorated. Not sure if it was intentional, but the colors made it feel like you were sort of under the sea. The food was superb. For appetizers, we had the deviled eggs and Rockefeller oysters. If you come here, you HAVE to get the deviled eggs. They are wonderful. The shrimp and sweet chili sauce on top of the egg were just . I'm still thinking about them. For entree, I had the surf and turf which came with an 8 oz filet and 2 scallops. The scallops were so buttery and fresh. For sides we went with the classic whipped potatoes and broccolini. So simple but delicious!

Yelp
We were a party of three celebrating my friend's bday. Even though we had a booth near the entrance and facing the bar, it felt cozy and intimate. I was initially concerned, then impressed. Everything we had was delicious, both the fish and meat. The fish was flavorfully balanced, wonderfully meaty, and still moist. The meat was beautifully cooked, and had an impressively wonderful softness to it. The kitchen crew is skilled, and must have amazing choreography. I am impressed. The drinks and dessert were also skillful. I have a hard time deciding in an environment of so much new-to-me, including our host. So I went with the drink the host liked. Initially I thought description sounds close enough. On sipping, I thought, what is this deliciously detailed drink? I'm probably not fair about the dessert, because it was eye-opening like everything else. So, I was just, "Of course, Gatsby's! Thank you! Another skilled course!" But the details were deeper than that thought reaction. Although our sides might seem odd to the fish, I was surprised how much I enjoyed it. Each item had good textures to flavors. I was also impressed with our oyster appetizer. The thought of cheese on oysters just reminds me I'm next door to Louisiana. That might not be a fair correlation. So I was surprised after the first oyster I wanted a second. I looked at it curiously. The cheese, the way it was shaved, and the amount of distribution seems just right. This is a lovely, even magical experience for long friends, and new-to-each-other people. I haven't seen my friend since the pandemic, and have been wanting to meet his friend for awhile. For me this Gatsby's kept the wondrous magic in tact, rather than make it fall apart. I walked away so happy, contented, and wondrous. The only ebbing of that was the short staffed evening became evident in the bday celebrant's drink being late twice. Hence being placed nearest to the bar/activity was a best call when your waitperson is also bartending. Every part of of the dining experience was very well-executed in flavors and textures, and ameliorating the late arrival of the bday celebrant's cocktail. Gotta tell my foodie brothers and their discerning wives. Note: Edible Flower Eaters: Here there is one flower that should stay in your drink glass, not popped into your mouth! Beware! xD

Yelp
We went for Houston restaurant week for our friends bday celebration. Place had a nice atmosphere. We really had high hopes. Service 3/5 Service for this was not up to the standard. Kind of slow. We asked about the featured wine and only was informed it was a Cabernet and from cali or something of that sort. No details of the name or the notes. A drink that we did not order came out, we ended up just drinking and paying for it. Water refill was only once the entire time we were there. We also ordered a corn side for our steaks but it came when we finished. We had to ask about it and we ate it after everyone's steak was gone. Barely saw our waitress. Couldn't get to split the bill by couples. When the bill came we saw that we had a whole entree added. A friend ordered the shrimp sauce and was charged $9 a piece of shrimp and it was about a few of them too. I believe there was not a through explanation of different shrimp sauces. We were lucky to flag down the manager. She was quick and understanding. She removed the two charges. I have been a server and know there are usually rigorous training that should have been in place to prevent this many errors. In addition there was a server assistant. Steaks 4/5 Soft and tender steaks. Well seasoned. Plate was way too hot. I appreciate the thought. I would say it was the best steaks I've had but pretty good. Mushrooms 2/5 Pretty pricey for some dried thin mushrooms. Mac and cheese 5/5 This was flavorful. Had some bread crumbs that's was tasty. Big family portion. Crème brûlée corn 4/5 Tasty corn. Unique style of making the corn. Cheesecake 4/5 Decent cake. Nothing unique Sorbet 5/5 Solid flavor Chocolate cake 5/5 Kids enjoyed it. Like a fudge. Beef tartare 3/5 Was okay. Need more crackers. Flavor was decent. Lobster bisque 5/5 Was a great start. Lots of lobster bits. Fries 1/5 Overcooked and too large.

Yelp
Came here with a friend with a very last minute reservation on a Sunday night. We were surprised to find the restaurant almost completely empty. We did the $10 valet to avoid having to walk too far since there is no other available parking nearby. We were greeted promptly by our server who walked us through the menu as first timers and offered plenty of recommendations. We started off with cocktails and the jumbo shrimp. I ordered the The Charleston which is a gin based cucumber flavored drink. It was delicious and the presentation was amazing. Definitely recommend this drink to anyone visiting the restaurant! The gumbo shrimp was made in a garlic butter wine sauce and accompanied by a parmesan + garlic bread. This dish was super flavorful and the shrimp was cooked really well. For our entrees I ordered the sea bass and my friend ordered the 8 oz steak. We ordered the broccolini and loaded whipped potatoes for the sides. The sides are family style and they even serve them for you which was a nice touch. The seabass was cooked to perfection but the flavor was really inconsistent throughout. Some parts were seasoned well and others were not? As far as the sides, they were both perfect. The loaded mash was the star of the night. WOW! So creamy and flavorful. We loved it. My friends steak was cooked exactly to their liking and they really loved it. I got to taste it and can confirm it was cooked perfectly and super flavorful. We were too full for desserts but they do offer a wide variety of dessert dishes. Overall I think it was a great meal and the quality of the food was really good. The decor of the place is awesome and so is the ambiance. I have to agree with other reviews that this place is missing the 5-star dinning mark by just A LITTLE BIT! I noticed our waiter had at least 5/10 tables that were on the floor. Our drinks took about 15-20 minutes even though the restaurant was relatively empty. We always had to ask for refills, and empty plates took a while to be removed from the table. He did great all things considered but service can only be so great when your waiter is that busy. When we went to pick up our car, the valet brought the wrong car. They were completely confused as to which one was our car. We eventually sorted it out and the guys were super nice but I don't think that should ever happen especially on a slow night. I think with a little improvement on the little things this place has the potential to be great.

Yelp
Longtime visitor of the steakhouse so me and the family decided to try their seafood variant. Was well worth the deviation. Food: The food here is on par or above the steakhouse. I hate to admit it but the steak was better. we ordered off menu and were thoroughly impressed with flavor and presentation. Service: AMAZING! Can not say enough about our waiter Jose, the Asst. Jerry, and the General Patrick. truly 5 star service. everyone was knowledgeable, pleasant, attentive. we came in with our baby and instead of sitting us at a high table they adjusted and gave us a corner booth. appetizers, salads, entrees, desserts, all came out in the appropriate order without me having to specify. Atmosphere: Took one star away for atmosphere. High price point (well worth it) but it was a less intimate setting than i would expected at that price point; being used to their steakhouse variant. Additionally, I originally went to the steakhouse variant to avoid some of the outlandish things that occur at Steak48. During one part of our service a group walked in with a photographer and started taking pictures inside and out. the flash and antics disturbed our meal immensely. Despite that i would still rate this place high and will be back for the service and food alone. i normally take a lot of pictures but only happened to get our dessert.

We decided to try something new! This was our first time here and let me tell you the service was exceptional. The food was delicious Great wine selection too

Yelp
We came here to celebrate a late Valentine's Day as I had to work on the 14th. We were surprised to see that the valet was not complementary, as there is nowhere else to park. I agree with a previous poster that says valet parking at establishments of this caliber is normally complementary. We were greeted immediately, and seated right away, prior to our reservation time. The service was excellent throughout the meal. Instead of receiving bread service, they set down someone else's dessert. That was weird. The seafood tower was exceptional, with huge prawns and perfectly cooked lobster. My wife wanted the crab cakes, but they were out. I got the steak and it was not seasoned very well and kind of blah. That's probably why they put such a hard sell on all of the toppings. If a steak can't stand on its own I don't want it. They did give us (another) complimentary key lime pie, plus the cheesecake we ordered. Total plus tip with a good bottle of wine was $400. Not bad, but for this price I'd expect a better steak and complimentary valet parking. We may be back for the seafood tower, but not anytime soon.

Yelp
Valet only. Nice staff & Nice ambiance. Filet mignon was delicious mac & cheese could have been better but wasn't bad ..The chocolate cake was a no for me it tasted like a big piece of chocolate

Yelp
We found this place through social media since it looks so cute and trendy. Definitely one of those instagram-able places. The food however was not up to par. The service was okay, our server was not bad but we waited forever for our food. He looked like he was very busy and it seem as if they only had 2-3 servers circling the restaurant. Our drinks were really good though, I got the Mexican Coffee drink, the Carajillo which is just like an Espresso Martini, but more rich and sweet with the cinnamon they put in. My fiancé said the old fashion was also very good. Our food were okay, not amazing or great. Some were actually super dry. Our seafood tower was very sad looking, and the crab legs were extremely dry to where it had a weird, stringy texture to it. Lobster and oysters were okay. Honestly nothing special. Our salad came out after our appetizers and sides so that was odd. We got the maple bacon as our appetizer, and it really just tasted like burnt bacon in maple syrup. The bacon was awfully dry and burnt but according the manager, it was supposed to be super dry because it was cured meat...? The Mac n cheese was okay. The crème brûlée corn was good. Overall, the food were not good and I feel like the quality was very bad for such an upscale, and chic restaurant. We paid about $300 for the food and it was not worth it. I'd give the food 2 stars, and 3 stars for ambiance and decorations. Sadly we will not be coming back here. Totally a social media overhyped place.

Yelp
Gatsby's Prime Seafood was an OK meal for a rather $$$ price, in my opinion. We're lucky to have so many seafood options in Houston, but Gatsby's probably wouldn't be my favorite seafood spot. To clarify, I thought the food was very good: our brunch lobster roll and cinnamon roll were both delicious. Even the french fries that came as a side to our lobster roll were really good. It's just that with those price tags and great food, plus frankly a pretty interior, I'd expect a higher level of service and atmosphere. Not that the service was bad, but it just wasn't that great: for example, our table wasn't ready, and they prepped it after we sat down. And the interior of the restaurant is beautiful, but the big patio is along a rather hectic, noisy street. I don't mean to be too picky, but I feel like Gatsby's is trying to be 5-star upscale but is missing the mark just a bit.
google avatar

Anna K.

Yelp
I loved it - maybe even more than Gatsby's Prime Steakhouse. I went shortly after their opening. It was more quiet than I expected for a Thursday but we had a great time. The space is simply beautiful. I just love the high top cocktail tables and banquettes, and the patio is beautiful. Love the ladies room too! We tried several specialty cocktails. I love the vodka martini with foam. The other vodka cocktail was too sweet and they kindly made me a dirty martini, which was perfect, The bread is not to be missed! We had a few appetizers. My favorite was the crab cake - large and delicious. I also enjoyed the campechana. It was tasty and filling. Service was exceptional. Server knew details for everything and had great recommendations. Can't wait to return - and will take pictures next time!

Yelp
Girls night at Gatsby's was a hit! I enjoyed the old school vibe they are going for, the only thing is the music kind of put me to sleep. However the food and drinks woke me up lol The steak was so hot and flavorful I enjoyed every bit. But my favorite part of the night was the strawberry lemon drop, omg it was sooo good! When I go back I'm coming just for that drink. Our waiter was super nice as well, overall I'll come back.

Yelp
First time at this new Seafood place from the Gatsby Steakhouse owners, in the former Mandola's space. Well, when you walk in blue it hits you in every sense of the word. Not sure what they were trying to do or what the theme was. Blue, deep blue everything. Not my style, but hard to overlook. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, the portions were large and easily shareable, and the prices were very reasonable. Like $12 for a big ass wedge,
google avatar

Michelle C.

Yelp
Beautifully decorated, service was very good, we came for a girls night out with a party of 4 to celebrate a birthday. The sides are shareable, we each ordered a side and shared. The cocktails were good and had the right balance of liquor and sweet. We all agreed the food was delicious. All the meat and seafood were very fresh. Lobster Tails, Filet Mignon pictured. PS: They have valet parking and accept various payment options.

Yelp
Main course was fantastic and our waitress was sweet but that is where the positivity ends... Appetizers took nearly 45 min to come out, drinks were weak and awful, ambiance felt like a cross between a ghetto New Orleans bar and a strip club. The patio decor was stripped and looked sloppy. This place could be so much more with proper management. Really disappointing.

Crystal R.

Yelp
For a fine dining restaurant I was pleased with the price point. Not cheap but not something that comes as a surprise like most new high end establishments. Our server was very very knowledgeable on the menu and featured items (Jose I think?). He did a few things throughout the night that where thoughtful and provided exceptional service. Everything we ate tasted great and while we ordered small dishes/ appetizers to share we still managed to have leftovers! My only negative review is on the espresso martinis. They tasted like straight up spiked coffee and would not recommend. The wine recommendations made where perfect which made me forget about the bad drinks. Looking forward to checking out the patio when it is finished!

Yelp
I came here Tuesday with a couple of work friends while in town. It was a fantastic experience. First, the atmosphere here is really great. The staff we came in contact with were SOO nice. Our waiter was awesome. The food was fantastic. We shared oysters on the half shell and crab legs. I had the salmon entree and it was just way too much food. I left totally stuffed (in a good way!) Delicious experience.

Yelp
We went two days ago for our anniversary. We love Gatsby Prime Steak location so we had to try the Seafood location and they didn't disappoint. The staff was amazing and Mona took good care of us. The food was simply divine. The sautéed shrimp is what we started off with taste so fresh and came in a wine sauce that even after we were done the bread they served taste great in the wine sauce.. They were very large prawns that my husband and I could share. Next was the cream corn brûlée' . Man oh man. We had it at the Steak house before but this location perfected it . you must try it words can't even express . I had the 6oz crab cake which was soo yummy and you can buy two is you like. My husband had the filet mignon also very yummy. We are every bite of our food. And they surprised us with a real cream brûlée to celebrate ... again sooo tasty. Mona told us about brunch on Sundays so we will definitely be back.

Yelp
Everything we had was delicious! I was a little nervous because the atmosphere is super popular as an Instagramable destination so I thought it would be another trendy too over hyped experience. I've never seen so many women get that dressed up to go to a place mainly to take selfies. However, they really did offer good seafood. I had red snapper & husband had salmon which is usually cooked just right or terribly wrong. Gatsby's did it right. Service was perfect. Manager came by twice to make sure we were happy. Now we want to try their steak house too.

Yelp
The food and service were both superb! I can't wait to visit again. Definitely will be asking to have the same lovely waitress, Danielle!

Yelp
First, the good. The staff is extraordinary. Very knowledgeable and responsive without being intrusive. In addition, the redecorated venue is very beautiful and conveniently located (former Mandola's Seafood building on Waugh, just north of W. Gray). Otherwise, not so good. I am really sorry for this negative review, but this restaurant really needs to step it up if it wants to remain in business and cannot do so without reading why patrons are unhappy. The complaint on the $10 mandatory valet is legit. I usually opt for valet, but I like to have the choice, particularly when there is plenty of room for self-parking in the restaurant's connected (and nearly empty), private parking lot. I find it annoying to be required to pay someone $10 to move your car 30 feet. The food was disappointing. The dinner rolls were cold and stale. They literally fell apart when opened to be buttered. The lobster bisque was extremely thick and not very good. It tasted like a basic cream of mushroom base with a dollop of shredded lobster thrown on top just prior to being served. The entrees are served with no side dishes. You must order side dish each a la carte. We had the creamed spinach, which was very simple but fine. The salmon was dry when served, but the redfish was large and excellent. However, both the salmon and the redfish were served on "sizzling platters." I find a sizzling platter an undesirable and overhyped marketing gimmick for several reasons. First, I do not like eating off what I presumed was a metal plate. It is okay for camping, but not for a fine restaurant. More importantly, you are warned to be very careful because the plate is 400 degrees when served. Yikes. The fish, already very hot when served, continues to cook while you try to eat it. I appreciate some folks like sizzling platters - why not disclose it upfront and offer a choice? Again, sorry for the negative review. I was hopeful going in but I will not be going back.

Yelp
Slow service, food was not very tasty and arrived cold. If you want drinks and insta-worthy photos, maybe. If you want to eat, hard pass.

Yelp
I absolutely loved this place and I will be returning! My waiter Guillermo was better than good. I love conversating with him and he provided my boyfriend and I with really good options. We tried the deviled eggs as an appetizer and they did not disappoint, I love that they are topped with shrimp. As an entree we ordered the ribeye and the halibut with mashed potatoes and broccolini.... The first bite was to die for. My food was perfectly seasoned and nice and hot. There were no complaints from me! They also offer complimentary bread and we paired our dinner with a really good Moet Champagne. I highly recommend trying everything on this menu, this place is really good for a date night or just a good time with friends or families.

Yelp
Such an accommodating staff. I loved the ambiance. We celebrated Valentine's day at the Gatsby and was very satisfied. We had a customized seafood tower and delmonico steak with oscar sauce.

Yelp
YUM YUM YUM!!! So I was rounding late, got hungry and Yelp led me to this new place, only open for 1 week. I valeted for $10. Valet was really sweet. I walk in and I'm blown away by the beautiful interior! Navy blue pallets with hints of gold and marble swirls; from top to bottom, this place nails it with eye catching decor and perfect lighting. The very large dining and bar area is christened with tunes from Frank Sinatra to Maroon 5, a music selection for all tastes, young and old. The ambiance uplifts to classy and sophisticated, yet still retaining a youthful attraction. I was greeted by Mona, a lovely server, with a mean cat-eye (she could teach a class), who was very knowledgeable about the menu and what to pair with what. She was skillfully balancing tables and the bar, while entertaining the guests with banter, but never lacking in attention. I chose: 1. Flat water. Definitely filtered and crisp. No, I didn't drink tonight, people, I'm on call! My water glass never got too low. 2. House bread with butter. On the house. Could have been salted a little more but overall good. 3. Sautéed shrimp with this garlic butter sauce that made me literally bite my fingers off!! 4. Lobster bisque. Huge thick chunks of seasoned lobster with creamy soup that was done to perfection. It was probably the best bisque I have had in a very long time. 5. Crab cake. Holy biscuits! The crab was thick and moist, with crunchy bread crumbs on top that created a texture heaven in my mouth! Expertly seasoned too! It was truly delicious. 6. Side of sautéed spinach. A very delicious choice! 7. Side of corn brûlée. This right here stole the show. I have never tasted anything like this. Sweet corn with a hardened carmelized blanket of sugary goodness glazed on top. Again, the combo of textures confused yet pleased my mind, and then that sugary saltiness....where has this been all my life?!!? 8. Key lime pie. It's not your normal key lime pie. It's delicately whipped to rest on your tongue and dissolve into your palate. The sweetness nor the classic sourness were overpowering - it was just a perfect closing argument to why this restaurant is one of my new faves. 9. Bread pudding. I got this to-go for my hubs, who loves bread pudding and has been in search for the perfect bread pudding in Houston. He took the box, engulfed a bite, his beautiful brown eyes got huge, I blinked, and it was gone! So I guess that means he liked it! He said he wants to come back for our next date night, and this is the perfect spot. We will return!

Yelp
We had a party of five for dinner and a birthday celebration. They sat us at an amazing table. The staff was very attentive and knowledgeable on the menu. The music was nice. Our cocktails and drinks were made to perfection. We ordered lamb chops, seafood and steaks with all the sides, and they were all cooked to perfection and delicious. Looking forward to returning.

Yelp
We wanted to love it because Houston doesn't have many upscale seafood restaurants, but this wasn't it. The restaurant is very sleek and nice (if you came when this location was Tony Mandola's - it's totally different). It's quite cool what they did with the space. The service is great, one of 4 servers checked on us consistently. It boils down to simply not being impressed with the food. We had: Bottle of Malbec (decently priced) Campechana Salmon w/ caviar Lobster Bisque Crab Cakes While the campechana was loaded with shrimp which we appreciated, it was not mind blowing by any means. We did not finish it. The salmon and lobster bisque both lacked flavor entirely. The bisque was to the point I sent it back to the kitchen because I couldn't force myself to eat it. The crab cakes were a nice size and contained an ample amount of crab. However even this wasn't seasoned very well - it definitely needed the sauce that accompanied it. We usually order dessert, but the rest of the meal was lacking so much that we opted out and got that elsewhere. We might give it another shot when it's been open longer, but for now it's not on the revisit list.

Yelp
Back at an old favorite. But YIKES! The whole place rebranded into OCEANS 12. It focus on "vibe dining." This new concept does not work... for anyone. Someone who doesn't know how to run a restaurant took over this place. This is not a place for a quiet dinner anymore. Darn.... We really liked it. Watch out for the music, the loud scene, waitresses in dresses that are a bit too short, and folks pushing bottle service. Nope. Nope. Nope.

Yelp
This restaurant is all hype and no substance. The food was not worth the money you spend on it and the prices seem just unreasonable start to finish. I am happy to pay a lot for good good and this wasn't it. The staff was incredibly unprofessional - we had three waiters who were not at all communicating. I couldn't order a 2nd glass of wine for 30 minutes after actively trying to get at least one the waiters attention. One waiter started hitting on my sister and touching her tattoos. That same waiter told my brother he could thank the microwave for the fries. My grandparents were appalled by this place and we were so embarrassed we took them here.

Yelp
Highly overrated. Greatly overpriced. Contrived concept. Medicare service. Upselling managers pushing 1000% marked up wine and spirits. Way past its "prime."

Amber L.

Yelp
Our dining experience at Gatsby's Prime Seafood was exceptional! From the moment we arrived until we left the service and attention was exactly what we'd hoped it would be to celebrate our friend's birthday! The atmosphere was both inviting and elegant. We were very comfortable at our table for five. The GM, Patrick Smith, welcomed us and his recommendations for appetizers, dinner, and dessert were absolutely perfect for our taste. I am definitely look forward to the next dining experience at Gatsby's!

Yelp
Great food, service and atmosphere. Worth the trip. They went out their way to make us feel welcome and served us fantastically.

Yelp
Horrible! Expensive. $10 valet. Food was marginal (very little flavor) and it took forever to get. I frequented this spot when it was Tony Mandolas. What they have done to a really nice location as far as "decorating" is unbelievably bad. Felt like a speak easy or brothel. They have been "remodeling" what used to be a very nice patio for months. Hard to tell if it ever gets busy but I can understand if it doesn't. Never going back. Jim

Yelp
1 star for not making a formal announcement that you no longer operated during lunch hours as originally. Drove over here for absolutely nothing it's CLOSED

Yelp
I went with another guest for my birthday this week. I honestly selected the restaurant based on my previous experience at the Steakhouse. Upon pulling up, I was surprised by the exterior. It's still in construction and was messy. Upon entering, the interior aesthetic is nice; however, there is still much work that needs to be done- outlets uncovered and paint touch ups. I can speak highly of th the service and food. Our waiter was delightful and patient. We ordered oysters Rockefeller and scallops for an appetizer. They were both cooked to perfection. For entrees, we had sea bass, crab cake, brussel sprouts, and a baked potato. All food was seasoned well, presented beautifully, and a nice portion. They provided a delicious key lime as a courtesy for my birthday, which was much appreciated. Overall, Gatsbys is nice but I would not select it as a top location for a special occasion. They must finish construction. So 3.5/5, but I couldn't give half star.
