Gaucho Grill Pasadena

Visited Gaucho Grill for a Sunday afternoon lunch and had a really solid meal. It’s a great spot for Argentine food in Pasadena—the environment inside is super nice and welcoming. They do offer a brunch menu, but we ended up ordering off the main menu instead. We started with the calamari appetizer, then shared the Paella and a Caesar salad. Everything was tasty, and the service was great throughout the meal. I noticed some of the beef and steak plates coming out for other tables and they looked incredible. I didn’t grab one this time, but I’m definitely coming back for the steak next time!

First impression was a large food substance on the sidewalk entrance. Staff was aware and when we walked out, it was still there. Service was mediocre at best. Waited a long time to be served and for the food/dessert to arrive, though restaurant was pretty empty. Entraña was delicious; but was charged $41 instead of the menu price of $25. Flan was not good. Cost was $86 for 2 entrees, one dessert and water to drink.

I'm a meat lover, and Gaucho Grill Pasadena truly exceeded my expectations! The quality of their steaks is exceptional, with each bite tender and full of flavor. Great steakhouse. No reservation on a Tuesday but we were sat immediately. Diana, our server, explained the menu and offered recommendations. Bread and butter arrived. We ordered the rib cap and the 30oz ribeye. I was able to sub the smoked potatoes for the mashed and loved everything. The ribeye was perfectly cooked and all meat! The white sangria was delicious. Eat here!!

I can't believe that I'm only trying this restaurant for the first time now... I've been missing out! Let's start with the polite servers who are responsive to our needs even when it got busy. Arians was great, and I wish I knew the names of the two who served us the bread and refilled our glasses! Then, there's the modern, yet still rustic ambience playing good music that is not too loud. Finally, let's get to the food. The short rib empanada: I would go back even just for this! The salad was simple yet delicious! I think there's heart of palm chopped in there, and the dressing was simple and just right! The steak! My goodness, that was PERFECTION served on a plate! The meat was tender and cooked perfectly. The marinade required no sauce on the steak. It was wonderful just as is! My husband and I will definitely be coming back!

Good overall service and let us sit away from the crowd. Our party’s recommendations are the paloma, strawberry basil margarita, garlic fries as a side, and the “picana” steak. What stood out the most was our server who was actually also the bartender. We were able to be seated, orders taken, and orders received (including drinks) in less than 30-40 minutes.

Food is very good. Service is not good. We purposely select Gaucho Grill to celebrate our anniversary. But waitresses did not even mentioned.

The restaurant offers a tomahawk steak and a rack of lamb, both of which come with two sides. These dishes are consistently juicy and delicious, making them a staple for our visits. However, I did deduct one star from my food review due to the inconsistency in their cocktails; each visit, the cocktail was prepared differently. The picture included showcases one of the best versions I have experienced.

The food and the ambiance were amazing. We came here with my mom to have dinner for her birthday. Our server, Miguel, was a vibe and I had to write my first review on the great service provided.

I really enjoyed the food at this Pasadena location! Free parking is available where the Macys is at too. Ordered the empanadas, fries, mushrooms, skirt steak, and lamb chops. It was perfectly salted, filling and all were delicious. It's a fun lively place with a bar! Drinks were presented beautifully and tasted great. Can't wait to come here again!

My wife and I made reservations for 7pm Saturday (Feb 22) for a celebratory dinner. This was to be a happy evening but the end result was frustration and disappointing. We showed up on time and the host asked us to wait because they were busy (I used the restroom at this time and the restaurant was, at most, 50% filled). While we waited, we watched multiple groups come in and get seated without reservations. When we did finally get seated, it took a solid 15 minutes before we saw anyone come to our desk. Luckily, we grabbed a menu (the host didn't even give us one when we were being seated). By the time the waiter came, we made our drinks and meal selection. My wife had ordered the Milanesa de Pollo but was told the restaurant had run out of chicken. We could hear someone from another table order chicken with no problem. My wife went with the Milanesa de Bife instead. It took another 35 minutes before we even got our cocktails. When we inquired about that, the waiter was dismissive and barely let us talk. He came by 5 minutes later with the drinks. Our meals arrived and they were fine though I ordered the short rib pappardelle which is to come with Italian mascarpone. My dish had zero mascarpone. The waiter did not stop by once to check on our meal. 40 minutes later, we had to get his attention to get the bill and takeaway containers which he delivered by literally tossing them on the table. We paid (still left a 15% tip) and left. My wife and I have come to Gaucho for happy hours several times over the past 3-4 years and while the service has been slow, it was bearable. Six months ago, my work team had a weekday work lunch at the same Pasadena location and of a group of 8 people, with literally, only 2 other groups in the restaurant at the time, we waited 60 minutes for our food and the waiter got 6 of the 8 of our orders wrong. I should have learned my lesson after that experience because I had heard the service had gone down hill but I wanted to give your restaurant one more chance. I was mistaken and the experience ruined what was to be a great night. We won't ever go back to this place and have cautioned our friends to avoid.

My first time here was because of DineLA. I came during the lunch hour with a reservation. I always pass by this restaurant but had no idea how nice and fancy it is on the inside! I ordered the al pastor empanada, which was very thick and tasty, and the tenderloin skewer and it was soooo good. It was perfectly tender and not too chewy. It was a good amount for the price we paid as well and I appreciate the balance with rice and salad. I also loved their bread and chimichurri sauces as a complementary appetizer. We were supposed to get flan for dessert but we had to take it to go and I discovered it was tiramisu instead. Not mad about it bc I do love tiramisu but at the same time ??? Why didn't they say anything lol? The main reason for one star off was the service was pretty poor. We waited soooo long for our food and it didn't even seem super busy? We would also ask for things (napkins, more water, dessert to go, the check, etc.) and it would take super long to arrive. I think we spent more time waiting than eating if I'm being honest! Hopefully this was just unique to this day. I do look forward to going back to try things from their regular menu. The

I am a regular at this establishment. I enjoy their Latin American appetizers. I think their meats and steaks are very reasonably priced for the portions. Service is friendly and prompt. Restaurant is clean, spacious and nice. Great for large groups. The items I ordered on the pictures were from the dineLa menu... my usual to go is the entraña which is my absolute favorite at this restaurant as well as the chipas!

Big spacious restaurant, quick service, made reservations & was seated right away on a Friday at 6:30p. They had a great dineLA deal. We really enjoyed the beef and short ribs empanadas, both were juicy, moist with great flavor. The short ribs empanada was better than beef but both were delicious. We paid extra for the tomahawk ribeye, it was cooked to perfection, medium rare. It was beautifully presented, it had a lot of meat, not too fatty & super tasty. The sweet corn, mashed potatoes & flan dessert were very good, but the mixed vegetables were only ok. It had a few pieces of zucchini & squash & a lot of potatoes & mushrooms. If they had better service, I would have given them 5 stars. They seemed very busy so they never checked up on us & we had remind them we were celebrating a birthday after they already gave us desserts & the check, even though they placed a birthday card on the table & set up the happy birthday sign next to our table. Tip: There's free parking at the Macy's parking lot next door.

The best Cadillac Margarita I have EVER had!!! my friend who is Argentinian and Cuban swears by this place and when he took me, I could not agree more and amazing steakhouse with great drinks and awesome food! We frequently hike nearby and come by after our hikes and I've always been greeted with the warmest greeting and we are always made the best drinks and the food is always on point. The bathrooms are always clean places always clean and they're always just like taking care of every single need that we have sometimes there's like a little quartet that plays sometimes there's a duet that plays. It's just a fun joint and I can't say anything more but come down and check it out.

Went here for birthday dinner, it was a delicious dinner. Drinks were great, had a strawberry basil margarita and hubby had a regular margarita, both very good. Had the filet mignon with mash potatoes and vegetables yum. They brought a birthday cake, it was super delicious Service was great, Raul was very welcoming and attentive. He focused on making sure my kids had what they needed. The music was great. Parking is free at Macy's building

Love this place and I am definitely coming back! Good and fresh quality of ingredients; Calamari: batter was perfect that you can taste the squid more than the flour mixture. I love how they added fitted olives along with it. Argentine Sausage: I am really a big fan of sausage but this was different. It was very tasty. Bread/Chimichurri; Too die for! Bread is so fresh and it compliments their dipping sauce, Chimichurri. Their Chimichurri is outstanding. Rib Eye Steak: Good quality of beef. I requested for medium rare, well done outside and rare inside. Perfectly done. Dulce de Leche Crepe: Argentine signature dessert. It's not too sweet and melts in your mouth. A must try! Service was exceptional. Our server Elmer was very friendly and quick in providing what we need. Ambiance: very nice place to wine and dine. Overall Experience: I love the place. Highly recommended.

First time and prob last time dining here. The staff was nice and the empanadas were tasty and the chimichurri sauces were on point but im afraid the rest of the experience was a let down. While placing the reservation, i was prompted to indicate the occasion so I selected Birthday but they didnt come by to sing or provide bday dessert. Why bother asking?? The Ribeye steak was cut half an inch thick lol. Who in the world would cut Ribeye that thin?? The Cap steak was the biggest let down and I actually dont believe it was Cap. The steak was dense and visually did not resemble the outer layer Cap at all. There are so many wonderful steak houses in Pasadena that it will be very difficult for this restaurant to survive with their current business model and standards Im afraid.

Everything. The customer service was nonexistent. The food was subpar. The empanadas were nothing like any Argentine empanadas I have ever had. There are far better to be had in this area at a far better price. Tito's Market on Garvey Ave in South El Monte, Merengue on Myrtle in Monrovia and even Lord Empanada , again on Myrtle in Monrovia, makes a decent one, granted much smaller than the rest but still better than Gaucho's. The tenderloin steak skewer I had was overdone and dried out. Given they advertise themselves as a steakhouse and their customer service is the worst I have ever experienced, that makes it a clear strike three and not worth your time to go here.

I eat Brazilian BBQ about twice a week so when Gaucho Grill opened I naturally wanted to check it out. I ended up going on a weekend for lunch with one other person. I loved that they had a large variety of meats and all of them are good. They were flavorful and delicious. I love that they will ask you how you like your steak cooked to make sure you get the cut you like. We were not left without meat at any point and they will ask you if there are any types of meats you prefer. Gaucho Grill is known for their gold covered steak which was good but I enjoyed my favorite pichana and chicken heart. Oh and shoutout to their delicious cinnamon sugar grilled pineapple. As for the self service area they had lots of cold items. Not a whole lot of hot items but some selections. The staff is super attentive. And they go out of their way to make you happy. We were constantly checked on and asked about our food. Sauces were brought out to us including creamy horseradish. The inside of the place looks like the old Agora. It's a great spot for small parties or large groups. We paid about $200 total (with tip) and were pretty satisfied. I would come back again.

I've heard that Argentina is starting to get a little colder... In fact, it's bordering on Chile. This spot has "Hawt Date Night" written all over it. Whether it's a blind date from Tinder or a 10-year wedding anniversary, this place slaps! From the decor to the lighting, down to even the napkins and menu, the design screams Argentina by taking you out of your element and off the streets of Pasadena. The second you enter the restaurant, the smoky smells of the smoked cocktails transport you away. The fresh made chimichurri sauces will get you asking for more - pour it all over everything. The absolute MUST TRY is the Smoked Short Rib Empanada. Do not share this. You'll want one just for yourself, then you'll want to buy another for dessert, then another dozen to meal prep for the work week, then you'll want to come back and ask if they can make a version of this Empanada the size of your house so that you can live in it!

I came to Gaucho for a birthday dinner celebration with my family and were seated immediately. The ambiance was nice and cozy. We ordered the lamb and chorizo meatballs, skirt steak, ribeye, and lamb chops - all meats being A La Carte orders. And for the accompanying sides, we chose the Gaucho fries, Champinones, and Papas Ahumadas. The lamb and chorizo meatballs were flavorful albeit a bit dry. The steak, ribeye, and lamb chops were wonderfully cooked and were also delicious. My personal favorite was the ribeye as it had the most flavor just from the seasoning while the lamb chops were not seasoned as much. The Gaucho fries were nothing special and the Champinones just tasted like regular sautéed mushrooms despite there being herbs, parmesan cheese, and garlic. The Papas Ahumadas on the other hand had a nice smokiness with good flavor. The service was good as our server checked up on us frequently and had a good attitude but what bummed me out a bit was what happened towards the end of the dinner. At the beginning when we were seated, my family mentioned it was my birthday. The context for this was that a table next to us also had a birthday person and the same server that waited on our table brought a complimentary dessert and even sang happy birthday to them but they ended up not doing anything for my table. Don't get me wrong, I don't expect complimentary desserts as if I deserve them but it felt bad to see that the table next to us got a complimentary dessert and a happy birthday song while I got skipped over. Otherwise the experience was nice but I would not come back.

Visited Gauchos on a Friday night for a little date night. For a Friday night it was surprisingly not very busy. The ambiance is pretty casual with a nice size bar several TVs and a pretty open dining room. The service was pretty good, our waiter was friendly but did not appear too knowledgeable of the menu and did not make any suggestions as you would expect at a steak house. Honestly my expectations were kinda high when it came to the steaks and they were just average. There was nothing that set this steak house apart. One of the better things was the parrillada which comes with a selection of meats to sample everything. Overall not bad but not the place I'd visit next time I'm craving a steak.

Came here yesterday to celebrate my brother's birthday he picked Gaucho now I see why!! The food was super tasty cooked to perfection My steak was medium and was served medium. The mashed potatoes on point & very flavorful . The chorizo lentil soup was delicious too. I loved my cocktail well balanced. They gave my brother a free bread pudding for his bday the dulce de leche was amazing pairing with it. They were short staffed but nail it all the way from beginning to end to end. Super nice ambiance Definitely recommend

Great food, service and ambiance! Agustina was our server and she made sure that everything was good and to our liking. Amazing service, definitely recommend, and can I say, how good are the steaks?! The meats are cooked to the correct temp as we requested. This place can compete with the best steak houses in Vegas, will give them a run for their money. Bravo!

A fantastic and trendy Argentinean steakhouse. We got the combo platter filled with flavorful skirt steak, sausages and short ribs. This was paired with flavorful rice and tortillas that added a great contrast to the savory meats. The ambiance was great, although a bit on the dimmer side for lighting, and the service was fair. Overall, a good experience and evening!

I would've given 4 stars if there was 2 more waiters handling the room also 5 stars if they treat clients nicer. There were 2 waiters one a complete disregard for clients and another with tattoos who was kind and hard working. Te food I must admit is great songs the atmosphere it was the service that was not that great understandable as on person (The tattooed waiter) was hoping all the tabes. This is at lunch I really hope his is not the case always

I work in the area and have come here in the past for business lunches. I planned to make a reservation for tomorrow as we are welcoming new colleagues and we like to splurge here because the food and ambiance are usually great. However I am pregnant now and am more careful about what I consume, especially when it pertains to seafood and I wanted to give their sea bass a try since I need to limit my meat intake. I was busy at the time my husband called around 6pm on Thursday 10/23, so on my behalf he asked how many ounces of the sea bass are served when ordering the entree (since I have to watch my mercury intake if I opt for fish). The hostess that answered seemed confused at the question and when my husband asked if she could ask someone in the kitchen, she came back with an exasperated tone saying they don't have that. Then when my husband pushed back and said it was on the menu, she said people just order from the menu and it comes with "mashed potatoes." Literally what???? Then when he asked to speak to a manager she said to call another location because she was busy and then hung up on him. So ten minutes later, I called back myself. I pressed "3" from the automated prompt to make a reservation and got the same hostess (I could tell from her voice and accent). I don't even know what happened because when I said I wanted to make a reservation, no one answered me?? So I hung up and called back, got her again and she asked if I could please hold. I waited over 5 minutes before hanging up since she never came back. I will never be dining here again after this shitty "customer service" and will advise my work mates to steer clear as well especially if they have any dietary restrictions or concerns. I read an earlier review from a month ago about a customer who literally DROVE BACK to the restaurant bc the fries they ordered were missing garlic, and the hostess basically gaslit him and didn't give him a replacement order after he took the time to come back. I can't assume this was the same hostess, but if it wasn't then this place has a serious issue with treating customers properly. Will happily take our business elsewhere.

Great service and fantastic meat! In addition they have some great drinks. On a Friday evening, I was unsure why there was no one there!

The atmosphere was great but my boyfriend and I both ate their beef empanada and chicken empanadas, as well as their New York steak and skirt steak.. now we both have horrible stomach aches with ongoing diarrhea. Unfortunately the server also took +30 minutes to return with our bill and gave us a container without a lid for our leftover food. Thought it would be an overall good experience but never coming back here again

I love this steakhouse in my neighborhood. This location is in " The Shop" on Lake. Reservation can easily be made on Open Table. Service is also exceptional whether at the dining table or at the bar. I have tried their short rib empanadas, filet mignon, and shirt rib pappardelle. They are all big portion and beyond delicious . Overall, it is a great place for happy hour, date night, or chilling with family. It has a fun and vibrant ambiance. I would definitely check this place out

The restaurant has free parking structure in the back. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. We didn't have a reservation but they were able to seat us. To start their table setting is so cute with the printed napkins. We started off with a drink. We don't often see Pisco Sour on the menu in the US so when we saw they make it we had to try. It was great! Dinner came with bread and chimichurri sauce, spicy and non-spicy. We tried the steak with a side of grilled vegetables. Everything tasted delicious. Staff was nice and would come out and check on us once in awhile.

Came here on a Friday afternoon with a party of 4 and were seated immediately - the restaurant was empty. We ordered the parillada for the 4 of us to share with sides of fries and grilled veggies, along with a calamari appetizer. While some of the meats were cooked well (lamb, sausage, entraña), there were other pieces that were very tough and overcooked, especially the pork. The overall worst part was how slow the service was. We were in the restaurant for 2 hours, which was crazy given how empty it was.

Food was delicious, however they must've been short staffed because we waited quite a while before our server arrived. In the meantime, we asked the hostess to bring us water and attended to us graciously. Everyone was nice but looked stressed. The place is beautiful but it was a very hot day and the AC was broken. I would like to come back on another day and try again.

This place has a good HH and we recently dined for Dine LA and the portions were good for the Dine LA price. They were out of the sea bass which was disappointing and they use this clunky QR code pay system but overall this place has good food and it's in a good location.

Had 7:15 reservation. Walk up and there's a line out the door because no one is at the host desk. 15 minutes later we have to walk into the restaurant looking for management to advise them no one is at the host stand and it still takes them 5 minutes to send someone up. Her excuse for not being at the host stand was that she was clearing tables. Table exiting said their meal took 2 hours because the staff is saying they are understaffed for the night. Sh*t show with no one managing. Walked because if they couldn'ttalk to us for the 20 minutes we were waiting to check in then the wait for service and food was going to be backed up as well with the flood of people waiting to get in. Mind you - plenty of employees and bussed tables...
