"The Gaucho Grill makes it official in West Covina this Thursday, but it’s a far cry from its former self. The Argentine restaurant used to be a staple throughout the 1980s and 1990s, with locations that stretched across the LA basin. The West Covina outlet is the second Gaucho Grill to open this year with the same name, but with an entirely revamped menu, look, and ownership. Older Angelenos might recall Gaucho Grill’s former massive menu, which included everything under the Argentine sun. The new menu is stripped down and easier to navigate, down to the generous cuts of ribeye, short rib, and filet mignon, as well as the empanadas, milanesas, salads, and protein-filled sandwiches. Since taking over the brand in 2015, owners Adrian Amosa and Kirk Cartozian seem to have carried Gaucho Grill into 2018. The partners took a few years to rework everything. Gone is the dark, minimalist look with clunky tables, and expected food choices. The partners opened the Downey location earlier this spring, then spent almost six months transforming the 3,200 square feet former Chinese restaurant space in West Covina." - Mona Holmes

I took a big group here for a celebration and it was great, solid customer service with excellent food entrees! I ordered their ribeye and it was delicious and cooked perfectly at a medium rare. Perfectly seasoned and the temp was just right. The seasoned vegetables were also delicious. Roland was an excellent server and provided a dessert with a nice display saying “Happy Birthday.” All of us had a great time and had an excellent lunch. Lots of parking but I came on a Sunday, but I’d definitely come back here again to try their other menu items.

Google
A HUGE shout out to our server Roland who provided an outstanding service for our large group of 22 out on the patio. He was super attentive throughout the night, making sure our drinks were filled and were happy with our entrees. His signature catch phrase is "I don't see why not?" haha! Roland definitely deserves a raise. Unfortunately, our group found their sea bass not too fresh, so I would stick to their meat offerings. The Gaucho Special Cut (rib cap) was very good and our group enjoyed the Tomahawk as well. For dessert, I liked the Tiramisu. Overall, we had a great evening and I would book Gaucho Grill again for our next group event!

The Prime Picanha was the best that I ever had. The fat was so juicy, I got the medium rare. They cooked really well. Empanadas smoked short ribs is really good also. Got to have red wine. One glass of Amosa Malbec De La Casa is the perfect choice to eat with your sirloin steak. The customer service team is always friendly. I love the way they make your day.

Came in hoping to catch happy hour but just missed it. Thankfully our server Orlando still took great care of us! The drinks were solid regardless, and the vibe was on point. Definitely planning to come back soon!

This was our second time eating at Gaucho Grill. Sadly, this will definitely be our last time. We ordered the shrimp appetizer and unfortunately they weren’t all clean, they still had the poopy vein on them. Yuck! The server was very friendly, but could have been a bit more attentive. It was 80 degrees outside and the restaurant was warm, we had to request for them to put the AC on, which they did. The food is flavorless and bland. For the price, we definitely expected more. Best part, was the live performer and empty parking lot.

I recently visited Gaucho Grill in West Covina with a group of friends, and overall, we had a really nice time. The food was definitely the highlight - I ordered the steak and it was cooked to perfection. The flavors were all really rich and delicious, and the portion sizes were generous. The only reason I'm not giving Gaucho Grill a full 5 stars is that the atmosphere felt a bit...off. The restaurant was kind of empty. We also noticed that there wasn't a photographer on site to take our pictures, which was a bit of a bummer since we were celebrating a special occasion when others places offer photography. Despite those minor quibbles, though, the food and service were both good . Overall, I'd definitely recommend Gaucho Grill to anyone looking for a solid steak dinner in the West Covina area. Just don't expect a super lively atmosphere or any complimentary photos!

I came here for LA dine in. This place has the best empanada I ever had. The arugula salad was pretty good with palm of heart. My chicken with fries were not bad. My mom‘s beef skewer was good, but the beef was a little overcooked.

Google
The food is not good or tasty, and the salad was not made well. The flavors were off. It definitely was not freshly made, and the chicken felt like it came from the frozen meal that got microwave (dry and chewy), the side potatoes bland, and the salad taste like leftover mushy, zero flavor as well. The bread is cold, not fresh or warm. It was disappointing and the atmosphere blah. The decor is dark and dingy, sorry to say. However, there is plenty of free parking and to get a seat here. It was pricey for nothing yummy, even the drink was water down. I would not recommend this place.

Yelp
This place is amazing! I've been here before and will continue to come back! The food is on another level and cannot be compared to others. The assistant manager Hermàn is great, he served us before. This time, Rodrigo was our server and he is amazing! He's very attentive and nice! He also plays in the band on Sundays from 4p-6p.

Lizbeth C.

Yelp
Best service and food was delicious. The drink recommended the white sangria the best..everything on point delicious

Yelp
Delicious food, and amazing service by Roland and German. They really take time to get to know their regulars. I always feel welcomed here. Love the ambiance here as well. The music is not to loud so you can talk to the people your with perfectly.

Yelp
DineLA Winter 2025 menu had wonderful selections for prices-fixe 3 course dinner. Two of us ordered: appetizers: Chorizo, Chicken Empanada. Both came to the table sizzling hot . Very flavorful. Entrees: New York Milanese, Seabass . Well prepared fish with creamy mashed potatoes. Dessert: chocolate ice cream, flan . Both were a nice finish to a satisfying meal. The service was efficient. Nice booth tables.

Yelp
Update: Somehow my original review was deleted without my knowledge, so something shady happened. Also as soon and i hit submit, a generic response from the manager was sent below, which tells me its an automated response. Went with a group for a guys night out dinner. It was my 3rd time here but all 7 of there first time here. The entire experience was terrible and everything brought out was cooked wrong. Shrink-flation hit this place hard because everything shrunk in size compared to pre covid times, yet prices soared high for what you get now. The food took forever and a day to finally come out and we were so hungry. We ordered the picanha and ribeye, medium rare and it came out Medium well. The waitress even repeated the temperature medium rare so someone in the kitchen screwed up. We brought it to the attention of the manager and she gave us a beer to make up for it. We ordered numerous side items like the paella and mushrooms and a salad to share, however i didnt expect the side items and entree dishes to shrink in size that much. Its pretty much a side dish meant for just 2 these days. Since we were still hungry, we ordered a meatball dish. And as you can see in the picture it came out raw inside. Once again i brought it to the attention of the manager, and feeling no confidence and knowing the incomptence of the chef, we told them to get rid of it and just take it off the bill. We were ready to end this dinner and get going. I felt so embarrassed having to recommend this place to my friends. I can't even fathom coming here anymore on my own. i rather go to fogo de chao and order a la cart during happy hour.

Yelp
Came on a Sunday night without reservations and was able to get a table for 10 right away. We ordered the calamari, burrata caprese salad, evita salad, tomahawk ribeye, parrillada argentina, paella, gaucho fries, puree rustico, gaucho rice, and strawberry basil margarita. The things we would order again: calamari, evita salad (sweet and tangy), and parrillada argentina (came with a lot of meat). The free plate of baguette they give is also very soft and goes really well with their chimichurri sauce. I found a piece of hair in my rice, and the manager was apologetic and came out with a new plate immediately.

Yelp
Found this spot on DineLA and definitely one of the best DineLA values for lunch that I've found. Came in with a reservation at 12 pm and they were still slowly opening up. The restaurant is beautifully designed and very comfortable. These are the options we selected from DineLA menu and my thoughts. Empanadas - They were out of beef empanadas so we got the Al Pastor and Smoked Short Rib empanadas. Both were delicious and definitely one of the best empanadas I've had. Bomb. (5/5) Tender Beef Tenderloin Skewers - Loved how this dish was presented. They give you a good amount of food and especially for lunch DineLA, for $25 this was solid. The beefy itself was tender but also on the dryer side. It was good overall. (4/5) New York Steak 8 Oz - This is a premium item for $10 more. Totally worth it, the meat was perfectly cooked and had a nice grill taste. It comes with a ton of other carbs such as potatoes, mash potatoes, corn, and some veggies. Absolutely delicious and perfectly seasoned. (5/5) Gacho Flan with Dulce de Leche - Portions for this was huge. Flan was good, not overly sweet and I thought it was delicious. Had dulce de leche cream on top which was pretty sweet. Solid ending for the meal. (4/5) Overall spent $60 for two people for lunch which I felt was 100% worth it for a 3 course meal. Would recommend any of the items I got above and everything was delicious. Parking - Easy, huge lot since this place is connected to the Plaza West Covina.

Dina D.

Yelp
The ambience was very nice and elegant. We went during the week during the afternoon hours and it was not busy at all. Margaritas are on point and I would come back to try more menu items. Empanadas, filet mignon, veggies, rice, and flan were all delicious! Definitely worth the try!

Yelp
We came to celebrate my moms birthday and well the parents chose this place since they had a great experience previously. From the moment we walked in we received a wonderful greeting from Rolan the host. I had to ask if they embarrass people for birthdays because that's always the fun part. He was very enthusiastic and said yes. We were seated and our waiter was German. He gave a wonderful recommendation for empanadas. We got 2 beef and 2 short rib. The short rib empanadas were sooo good, the meat was so tender and it just tasted phenomenal. We had a party of 3 so we ordered the Parillada Argentina. They did not have chicken but we were all fine with that since we're mainly carnivores. We were offered more entraña which was phenomenal. The two sides were fries and veggies. As a drink I ordered a Smoked Old Fashioned and I was blown away because it came in a chest. German was all about the details because he asked if i wanted to take a video, which YES I DID! My dad ordered a margarita which must've been good because he was the first one to finish. My mom ordered a Mojito. One thing I'll say is they are sooo detailed with the garnishes and just everything in general here. The attentiveness shown today was top tier. This was my first time here and I would definitely come back. The setting is so beautiful, you can come with family or even a cute date night. We showed up around 2pm and it was not too busy but my parents did mention at night reservations are needed. I'm certain the night ambiance is spectacular.

Yelp
Such amazing food. Consistently excellent service and an ever-evolving menu. Gaucho always excites and surprises. It's so nice to see new things on the menu and we love trying them. For happy hour, no one else can beat the deals they offer. A few of our must-haves are the lamb, the brochettes (filet mignon is *chef's kiss*), the calamari (not greasy and not too breaded), the entraña and the fin del mundo. We always leave happy and plan our next trip as we're driving home. So glad this is in West Covina! Such a gem of a place.

Yelp
As a DineLA enthusiast, I was eager to experience an Argentine Steakhouse Gaucho Grill. The moment I stepped inside, I was captivated by the vibrant ambiance and the tantalizing aromas of grilled meats. Amazing cozy booth seats were available and relaxing vibes. The star of the show was undoubtedly the Gaucho-style grilled meats. The tender, juicy steaks were cooked to perfection. The accompanying chimichurri sauce added a burst of flavor, elevating the dining experience. Can't go wrong with a few empanadas on the side too. The service was impeccable, with attentive staff who were knowledgeable about the menu and eager to provide recommendations. If interested there was a nice wine menu to go with. The second star of the show I would have to say is the dessert. A good amount of options, but all so very good. I highly recommend Gaucho Grill to anyone seeking a memorable culinary adventure.

Yelp
I took my best friend here to celebrate her belated birthday, and based on her previous experiences here she said they're really good. We ordered our drinks and food, but waited about 30 mins for the food to come out. The restaurant wasn't crowded or busy (we even came without a reservation and was seated immediately). My friend said this was not a typical experience so I'm not sure if they were short staffed in the kitchen. However, the food tasted great and the staff were friendly. Just wished they would've acknowledged and make up for the long wait. We shared the skirt steak, cream of corn, roasted potatoes and cheers with lemon drops. All were fabulous so with that said, it was worth waiting but service could be improved a notch.

Sam R.

Yelp
I had dinner with friends at Gaucho Grill last night and it was our first time dining there. We opted to order and share the Parrillada Argentina option. We requested the meat to be cooked ''medium' and ordered 2 sides. The meal itself was very underwhelming and the meat was cooked inconsistently and very bland. It seemed like the lamb chops were undercooked. My friend had mentioned this to the waiter and then he spoke to the manager. The manager provided additional sauce and chimichurri to help with the flavor. While the manager also provided a free dessert, we left the restaurant very disappointed with the meal. In addition, my friend began to feel sick after the meal and has been dealing with severe stomach pain and food poisoning symptoms. We were truly looking forward to a delicious meal and were so disheartened by our experience and the lackluster food. I generally avoid leaving negative reviews, but would caution others to be more careful about dining here.

Yuna L.

Yelp
The food was great and service was good. The server, Roland L, spent his time checking on us frequently. We have great DineLA experience.

Marcella M.

Yelp
Tonight we came to the Gaucho Grill for the second time to celebrate my husband's birthday. The first time we came was in New Year's Eve and so I expected it to be less busy tonight: I was wrong! It was JUST as busy! I'm glad we made a reservation, but we still had to wait about 10 minutes and ended up sitting in the bar area at a high-top table. It worked out because we got to meet Rodrigo and he provided great service! The food was perfectly cooked and brought out quickly- I highly recommend the provoleta if you've never had it. We ordered the milanesa de bife and the filet mignon brochettes. Everything came out perfect and we brought home left-overs! This restaurant has great ambiance for a special occasion; it's warm, there's music, and it's always full.

Vanessa C.

Yelp
We came here with friends to celebrate the new year. There were 4 of us in our party. We decided to go with PARRILLADA ARGENTINA. Oh boy!! It feeds 4 but could easily feed six. There is all kinds of beef, sausage, and chicken. It is a serious feast! It comes with 2 sides. I highly recommend it for sharing. You get all the top choices they offer.

Christopher C.

Yelp
Gaucho hits the mark when it comes to being a pretty darn good steakhouse. From the service to the apps and sides and the main course you aren't left dissatisfied. -the restaurant has almost a Spanish,Texan, rancher vibe. They have a nice open space and plenty of seating. Parking is pretty open and they can get pretty busy so make sure to get a reservation if you can. - service was honestly amazing, I give them extra credit since there were two huge parties going and 1 were never had an empty cup and 2 our food came out in great time, German was our server and he was on top of everything. He always checked on us and helped his team and made sure our food got out in great timing, he was great with suggestions. Honestly some of the best service I've ever had. -the food was absolutely delicious, my wife got a Filet Mignon med rare and she really enjoyed it, I got the ribeye and I loved the char on it and it was very tender. The only note I would give is a little finishing salt would help for seasoning but I ended up cutting some of my mushrooms up and put it with my steak and I got the savory flavor I wanted. Between the sides we got the mashed potatoes, rice, veggies, the chopped salad and mushrooms. they were all so delicious and paired well with our steaks. My mother in law got the sea bass and it was pretty flavorful with the sauce they had. We also got lobster which was friggin perfect and the calamari was literally the best I've had. I can't wait to go back again, I told my Wife I'd definitely wanna come for my birthday next year but definitely again this year. Thank you for the amazing food and service.

Omar A.

Yelp
Now this is a place you come for your birthday! Just gotta say that! Well, we came on my birthday month, not the actual birthday, but it was GOOD! Roland treated us so well! The food was great, I had the sea bass, the husb had the paella. The vegetables and sea bass were so juicy good. We liked the vibe of the place. This Gaucho Grill has lots of booths. We were first offered a table that was kinda ehhh, but as soon as some customers were leaving, we were offered a booth. We watched the employees clean it up. Also the lighting is not too dark or too light, just right. It felt like a very intimate spot. Again, service was excellent. Roland sang happy birthday to me and brought over a cake. Definitely sign up for their rewards program, I used my birthday coupon. We're coming back, believe me! I can't wait to try the other dishes!

Benjamin C.

Yelp
Dine LA: Gaucho grill The Dine LA dinner menu offered a fantastic deal, and we decided to splurge a bit by adding the tomahawk steak for an extra $10. It was well worth it--perfectly cooked and deliciously tender. We started with the cheese balls as our appetizer, which were a hit with their crispy exterior and gooey, cheesy center. For the main course, the Dine LA menu had a variety of enticing options, including steaks, pasta, and seafood dishes. The tomahawk steak was definitely the highlight, but everything we tried was flavorful and well-prepared. To finish off our meal, we decided to share both desserts available on the menu. Each dessert was a delightful end to our meal, providing a sweet conclusion to an already enjoyable dining experience. Definitely a good Dine La deal

Yelp
I brought my daughter here last night for her 25th birthday celebration. She liked the one in Pasadena, so we figured we would give this one a try since it's closer as we live in Upland. The guy that seated us and gave us waters was really nice! But he was not our server. This restaurant has a definite feel of a steak house. The place seems simple but was cool to be here. It didn't seem to busy tonight maybe due to the Mike Tyson & Jake Paul boxing event? We were not in a hurry by any means, but comfortable. We were brought out the bread and olive oil type dip. Was super good and the same nice guy gave us water refills. My daughter and I then began to order. For this review purpose, the food was excellent. I gave a 3 stars because of our server. According to our receipt, our server was A. Valeria. We first ordered two empanadas as appetizers, 1 short rib and 1 chicken & cheese. They were super tasty! My daughter ordered a top Sirloin with 1 side of the great tasting mashed potatoes. I ordered the Lomita tender loin sandwich. Here is where the problem was...when the food came out, my daughter got a T-bone steak instead of a top Sirloin. She didn't say anything as it was steak and when she reached the bone, she was like, this isn't top Sirloin, it's T-bone. I didn't realize until we got our bill. I was shocked when I saw $50 for T-bone instead of $36 for top Sirloin. A $14 difference higher in price. Apparently our server didn't listen to us when we ordered. We contemplated on talking to our server about it, but it was her birthday and we also had not seen him very much during the dinner. I just told my daughter I would put this in the review. The T-bone was great. But the price was more steep and was not expected. There was an older bus boy that came a couple of times to clear our table. We had to ask him for a to go container as our server was in the abyss. I even had to ask him a couple of times for the Happy Hour bar menu. When our server finally brought our receipt over, we asked for more water, which he did bring to us. Overall, as stated, the food was great, but not the right steak my daughter requested. Server could have listened and done better for us since it wasn't busy. Still was a good birthday meal for my daughter. We were just surprised our cost was a bit higher. T-bone was $14 more. Total dinner cost was $89.79. Cost should have been approx $75. We still gave the server $11.21 to total the bill to $100 even. If the cost was $75 plus tax, we would have gave him a $20 tip. Since we paid more for something we didn't ask for, our server just got a smaller tip. We were still too generous even though service was sub par. We recommend the food, but the one server was bad.

Karla G.

Yelp
Had a good experience at Gaucho Grill. The food and drinks were delicious! Definitely recommend this place. Service could've been better, there were times where our server was nowhere to be seen but they were also really busy on a Friday night. The ambiance of the place was also really nice, had spacious seating and the restaurant was clean. We ordered the Ojo de bife (ribeye steak) & entraña (skirt steak) & both were so yummy.

Noemi F.

Yelp
I enjoy coming here. The food is delicious. The drinks are good. The servers are fast and attentive. There's good seating. Only thing that's an inconvenience is my phone never gets service there. I'm not sure the reason but either then that excellent

Laurel C.

Yelp
Came here for thanksgiving with the family. Lovely service, we had a large table away from the noise which worked well to let us visit. Our server was so kind and accommodating, I specially looked for vegan options for my mom (at a steakhouse, I know). We did the Evita salad with no cheese, and the gaucho veggies with no balsamic. Very happy with the veggies, large portions of potatoes, zucchini, corn, onion and mushrooms. Delish.

Lianne V.

Yelp
Went for my birthday on a Wednesday night and we were seated fairly quickly. Our server's name was Brenda and she was excellent - super friendly, funny, explained the menu/specials and was very attentive. We got their short rib parpadelle, paella, and ultimate parillada which comes with 2 sides and we got their fries and papas ahumadas. I would say everything was great but the only thing is I would change one of the sides for something else instead of the papas ahumadas. Ambience was great given it was a chill weeknight so I wouldn't know how busy it is during a weekend. Definitely recommend and would come back again!

Joshua D.

Yelp
Went out to gaucho grill today for the first time and will definitely be coming back! German our waiter was very attentive and friendly. He recommended papas ahumadas as a side dish and i was extremely satisfied. I had lomo argentino and it was juicy and cooked to perfection. I would also recommend las gambas al ajillo very flavorful!! Besides the great service and delicious food the restaurant itself has a great atmosphere!! Must try!

Thamara N.

Yelp
Service was fantastic they were friendly and attentive. Ambiance was good. Food was tasty and enjoyable. Well seasoned steak and potatoes. The bread was a good starter. Loved the mushrooms. Overall great dining experience and will come back.

Luis F.

Yelp
Uno de mis favoritos. Gaucho grill ambiente familiar , buen servicio y excelente comida. Mollejas , empanadas y lo mejor una entraña no te la puedes perder.

Diana N.

Yelp
If you're looking for a charming spot to celebrate a special occasion--or just a Tuesday--Guacho Grill has you covered! My man whisked me away there for my birthday, and I must say, the ambiance was as quaint as a cozy little secret hideaway. The food? Delicious! It was the kind of meal that makes your taste buds do a little happy dance, even if the service took its time to join the party. But hey, good things come to those who wait, right? Enter German, our friendly waiter! While the clock was ticking a tad slower than I would've liked, his warm demeanor and genuine attentiveness made the wait feel like a friendly chat over coffee rather than an eternity in a food desert. So, if you don't mind a leisurely meal sprinkled with some laughter and a dash of charm, Guacho Grill is definitely the place to be. Here's to great food, even better company, and a birthday that felt like a delightful culinary adventure!

Kevin A.

Yelp
This is my second time being here and sadly will probably be my last. We were there for the Sunday brunch and were celebrating a few birthdays - the restaurant wasn't very busy so we expected good service. The food was very good, i will say that - but the service did leave a bad taste in my mouth. Our server was German, and although i see other reviews saying he was great, we didn't share the same experience. He seemed to be in a a rush and was very short. My wife asked if she could have an iced coffee and all he said was "we don't have that, we don't have an expresso machine" then turned around and walked away - didn't offer any alternatives and the iced coffee was on the menu so it was 100% reasonable to ask for that as a drink and if your machine is down, it would be nice to be offered an alternative or wait until we can decide on a different drink. Unfortunately i can't recommend this place to anyone anymore - and won't be coming back. Might need to update your menu and remove iced coffee as an option.

Precious H.

Yelp
We came at 8:20 & we are thinking 10 pm is true to close time they said they close at 9 and that we would have to be out a lil before 9 That's crazy and all the workers in the front seemed like it would have been a burden to even service us . Drove an hour for this disappointing service I guess Google should update these hours .

Jessica N.

Yelp
Loved the food, the service however wasn't the best. Our waiter was busy and made us feel like it. He never stopped by to ask how it was or if we needed anything, so when we would waive him down, he would stop by but quickly leave - leaving us still talking. He did however acknowledge our birthday and bring out a birthday cake and that is why I give it the 4 stars. The empanadas, lentil soup and bread pudding were good. The steak was a bit tough and undercooked for my liking - we ordered medium but got medium rare but again, our server too busy for us to have it addressed. This was our first and last visit as it left a bad impression. Management can improve by offering extra support on weekend nights or possibly providing time management/customer service training.

Jenny V.

Yelp
Outside of the West Covina Mall, they have their own parking lot. We were seated quickly and service was good. We got complimentary bread, their oil dip for the bread was delicious. Ordered: New York steak with mashed potatoes: yummy Gaucho mushrooms: interesting flavor Gaucho veggies: interesting flavor, mushroom, corn, zucchini and mini potatoes Short rib pappardelle: interesting flavor Definitely come back for their other steaks.

Jennifer S.

Yelp
Service was ok. Food was bland, chimichurri sauce had no flavor at all. Drinks were good. Ambience ok.

Jennifer F.

Yelp
Needed to add new places to my roster and this definitely made it! From the complimentary bread and sauce to the grilled smoke flavors on the chicken- amazing! My partner and I enjoyed this meal and would recommend to others. The server was very kind and informative on their menu options! The ambiance was very calming and felt like a nice intimate dinner- date nights here would be cute! Although, it would still be perfect for you and some friends to enjoy a nice meal.

Myleen L.

Yelp
We went on Saturday. The restaurant was busy, almost full capacity, and understaffed. I only saw three servers and a bartender; they kept seating people down since there was a waitlist. They forgot that the other tables were already set and needed something. You have to call to ask for anything. The steak was bland. It's a good thing they have a good chimichurri but a very short staff. They should work on that

Silvia C.

Yelp
Excelente servicio, Rodrigo es el mejor mesero, muy educado, atento y pendiente de todos los clientes.

Diana H.

Yelp
The starter bread with chimichurri was amazing, especially the spicy one! We ordered the entrana, along with two types of empanadas (beef and shredded beef), gaucho chop salad, mashed potatoes, and fries. Every bite transported me back to my childhood in Argentina, this place truly captures that authentic taste I've been craving. Finally, I found a spot that feels like home. German, was very attentive and made the whole experience even better. I'm already planning my return just to try their asado, which is slow-cooked for six hours. Just a tip: call ahead to make sure they don't run out! Can't wait to come back and indulge again.

Yelp
It was our first time visiting Gaucho Grill and it was a nice experience to try! We were celebrating my bf's that day as well, so we made reservations ahead in case. We actually reserved on the day of and their were plenty of timeslots available. When we arrived, it had a traditional and authentic atmosphere, I liked how they had an actual performer singing in the restaurant. It makes a much more unique experience! As for the menu, we each selected our own choice of meat, and we got this beef tongue and calamari dish to try. We also ordered some drinks as well, which we got a couple of beers and the Mercado (vodka drink). Before our order came, we were offered complimentary bread. The oil or sauce they provided with the bread was actually really good, it had so much flavor! We highkey wanted another round, but also didn't want to fill our stomach on bread first lol. Then came the shared dishes. Expect the beef tongue entree to be cold, which I personally think we could skip this one. It tasted a bit bland, but the tomatoes were pretty refreshing. The calamari was actually quite good, it was really crispy and flavorful. I wish it came with a dip with it since it was a bit too dry for me, but I just like dipping into everything haha. Next were the main entrees. I ordered the skirt steak, two others ordered the filet mignon, and then another was a NY steak. Of the majority, it seemed like the skirt steak was the best, then NY steak, then filet mignon. I ordered the skirt steak which I really enjoyed my entree! I ordered it medium rare but it was more undercooked? It was still very red, but the overall flavor and chewiness was really nice. I ordered a side of cream corn as well and that was delicioussss. The filet mignon was more bland a little tougher, which the ones that ordered this were a lot disappointed once they tried ours lol. Their side of tomatoes were a nice touch with eating all these red meats to make it more refreshing as well. In the end, we mentioned that we were celebrating a birthday so they brought out this banana deluche cake? It was pretty good! Overall, the experience here was pretty nice. It's a bit more on the pricey side, but the portions here are great. Service was quick and friendly.

Yelp
So I have been to Gaucho Grill about 4 times and every experience has been just lovely. The staff is attentive and accommodating. They let us participate in the happy hour menu even if we weren't situated by the bar. The restaurant has a nice vibe and is truly a gem in the midst of the west Covina mall, which hasn't been poppin since the early 2000's. The happy hour menu serves up lots of options for a more than reasonable price. Apart from my first time, I have always ordered the HH skirt steak with fries for $19. It is just amazing. Do get that the first time you come, you'll get hooked. Ive also ordered the cheese balls, empanadas, salads, pappardelle, rib eye and filet mignon but the true MVP is that skirt steak. And the sangria which packs a punch.

Yelp
This place we stopped at because we wanted a steak house we hadn't tried before. The food was below average and so expensive. The waiter Orlando was great and he was as very attentive but the food and the price just wasn't it. It's a calm place but it is run down and specifically the restroom it was dirty and grimy and old and honestly kind of grossed me out because of the restroom is bad I feel like the kitchen must be dirty too. My lasagna was cold and I had to wait for them to te heat it and it changed the original flavor because they didn't put pesto sauce again or the green sauce. I was definitely disappointed

Yelp
My take-out order was $137.14 for 2 kids burgers, one kids skirt steak, one pasta entree, one salad, an order of mussels and one hearts of palm salad. Came with bread. The kids entrees were the best deal on the menu. Average portion size. The pasta entrée was very large. The two apps were also average portion size. The issue I had was the salad. For $6.25 I added chicken, which brought my salad price up to a whopping $24.25. I asked to eliminate the pickled onions, but that some how also resulted in the elimination of the candied walnuts as well as the figs. The salad was a few pieces of butter lettuce with a few thin slices of apple. They also provided a small amount of grated cheese (manchego?) as well as dressing in small containers on the side. Food review: Kids burgers: good/nothing special Kids skirt steak: no review as my son felt sick and didn't eat it. Pasta entree: ehhhhh very mediocre. Would not get again Salad: wayyyy overpriced (see details above) Hearts of palm salad: delicious; best item we got Mariscos: didn't like/not good; salty and missing garlic (or something) After being highly disappointed by the salad, I called the restaurant to express my disappointment. I explained that I didn't get two of the toppings and that overall the salad was a complete rip off. Truly, I could've constructed that entire salad myself for $3-$4. The person I spoke with offered to refund me a credit of $20, and I very much appreciated them making this right. I was planning on providing a two star review but the credit is worth at least one extra star, so three stars it is.

Yelp
gaucho grill is a favorite of mine but as last night was valentines it was a bit chaotic inside lol. On a regular day the restaurant is very intimate and lowkey. The food's flavor was really good but it was not very hot and barely warm. The corn pudding and mashed potatoes are always a must order. Our waitress, Maria, was very kind, attentive, and was doing her best with a super busy restaurant. As we were in our car leaving we witnessed 2 dine n dashers which totally sucked, if you can't afford to pay for your tab don't come

Yelp
First time trying Argentinian Food and I must say that I was impressed, it was Delicious our waiter German was very attentive and recommended a good selection in wine, I also asked for a Mojito fin del Mundo and it was soooo good, the food Entrees and Stake was perfect rare and the sides were awesome! The appetizers and dessert were great as well. Perfect for a dinner date. Definitely will be coming back

Yelp
TL;DR: read the menu! A la carte for small parties, guacho style would be best for large parties. Make reservations. Enjoyed a nice NYE dinner with my date here; a great way to end the year! We made reservations same day. My steak was cooked medium as I requested. The chimichurri sauces are perfect on top. We chose the potatoes and chop salad as our sides and paired it with a cabernet wine. Luigi I think? lol They also start you off with fresh bread after you order. Not pictured are the empanadas we ordered (spinach and short rib) which were fantastic. Our server was kind and attentive as well.
