GC Bakery Opens From Grandchamps Team | Eater NY

"At 1625 Nostrand Avenue near Tilden Avenue in Flatbush, GC Bakery (short for Grandchamps) has taken over the longtime Baker’s Treats storefront and currently functions mostly as a wholesale kitchen specializing in Haitian patties. I found the team emphasizes the patties’ flaky, pastry-like quality that puffs up more than other versions and calls the flavor especially satisfying, selling varieties like beef, chicken, cod, herring, and spinach. The bakery also offers sweets available by inquiry — pineapple upside-down cake, sweet potato bread, and kokiyol (a Haitian donut) — and aims for a “grandma-level” touch. The space still bears the old signage and interior for now while the team plots renovations, balancing needed investment with a desire to keep prices affordable for longtime neighbors; they also plan to expand wholesale beverages such as sorrel and ginger tea and already supply restaurants across New York, New Jersey, and as far as Delaware, Boston, and Pennsylvania." - Emma Orlow

Aww man, this place reminds me of when my mother used to bake the family cakes. They have authentic Haitian patties, bread, cakes, and all kinds of treats. Surprisingly the service was amazing. I’m Haitian, so I know what to expect at certain establishments. It was refreshing to know they really care and value customer satisfaction. I’ll be back for the Herring patties and fresh wheat bread.

Stopped by this bakery shortly after my trip to Haiti in search for some authentic Haitian patties, and I found it here! My fav is the herring fish patty! Ordered a dozen for a cookout shortly after, picked them up warm and flaky...everyone loved them!

Excellent, attentive and kind customer service, my baby loved the cake, highly recommend. I needed a cake for my baby's cake smash photoshoot, and I wanted to support a local business. After googling bakeries near me, reading the reviews and seeing a photo of a two-tiered baby shower cake from Baker's Treats in a review online, I decided to stop by this bakery. I am so happy that I did. After the initial visit, I kept returning to buy (their very delicious) patties during our walks. When I went to the bakery to pick up the cake, my baby started screaming inconsolably. The man behind the counter had mercy on us, offered to deliver the cake to my home, and he delivered it to my home even though they do not have delivery service. The next day, my baby loved playing with the frosting and nibbling on this cake during the photoshoot. If I need another cake, I'll visit this bakery again.

This little bakery has some yummy dessert with nuts (peanuts or cashews) set in a sugar-like fudge. There are also delicious, flaky pastries filled with savory filling, like beef, behind the counter. I'm glad I stopped by for a snack. It's also conveniently located near the subway stop and bus stop.

My friend and I stumbled upon this establishment during our walk through Brooklyn. I was impressed by the hospitality and food service provided by this bakery and strongly recommend that people support this business.
