Gekiuma Yakitori

This is literally the best bbq skewer shop I've had in Taichung. The wait and crowded dining area don't even matter because the food is so great. Just because it's called Yakitori though there are many other meats besides chicken.

Smaller franchise of the yakitori restaurant (4 locations in Taichung). Great job with the chicken skewers and good draft Asahi beer.

japanese b-b-q, delicious. you can sit inside or outside. a bit long time you need to wait for your food, but hey, they have Asahi beer draft ;)

Rather high price. Good atmosphere for friends to gather. Have some special bbq sticks options.

This has become one of my favorite little spots to start a Friday night. The skewers you get here are great, I recommend the pork wrapped pineapple, if you can find it! Their stock seemingly changes around, I assume due to availability. The skewers are great, but the real star of the show on a Friday night are the fruit cocktail towers. Although they definitely have beer towers as well, the mango, lychee, and lemon cocktail towers are as tasty as they are fun, and can result in an interesting start to the weekend! For the less brave, you can get a 500ML or 1000ML glass of Asahi instead, which is also a great pair with the skewers.

Yakitori Restaurant (Meat Skewers) - Bar Type environment offering meat skewers and beer. We recommend the chicken thigh and pork bacon skewers. Avoid the chicken hearts, as they are usually too dry. Good overall prices and service, and most suitable for a quick, late night snack.

Delicious japanese style bbq. Homemade soy sauce along with other spices, there's an option to spice up your order as well (it's hot!) Nice atmosphere with small tables made of plastic baskets. My friend ordered a mochi wrapped with meat, and it meshes pretty well surprisingly.

One of my favourite place to eat in Taichung ! Affordable skewers, very chill and casual atmosphere. It opens really late (1:00 am most days) which is a real plus in Taichung as most of the restaurants don't serve food after 21:00. Already been there more than 20 times, quality is constant, brang friends from different countries and everybody liked it.

Mochi wrapped bacon skewers were delicious! Must try. Also had the bacon wrapped rice, chicken, and veggie skewers. All decent.
