Gemini in DC was such a great dining experience! The food was absolutely delicious — the pizza is truly unique, with creative flavor combinations (the white pizza was great!) that make it stand out, and the pasta was fantastic. Super fun flavors all around. The staff was wonderful as well: friendly, attentive, and added to the overall great vibe. The atmosphere itself is fun and lively without feeling overwhelming. Highly recommend ordering a half pizza and splitting a couple of pastas so you can try more of their amazing dishes. Definitely a spot I’d go back to!

we came here and i can honestly say that it is the most overrated place we have ever been to. if you are thinking of going please look at the reviews to have a better idea of what to expect. after looking online we saw that it was very talked about, and we decided to go. once we got there and ordered we realized there were no chairs… which is ridiculous. especially in a place like d.c. where plenty of people walk around and sight see. i ordered the pesto gnocchi and the portion size was incredibly too small especially for a 20-30 dollar pasta. the only item that made up for it was the 30 dollar pizza. my husband had to also self serve his still water which i have never seen at a restaurant. our total was around 106 for 3 items, 2 of which were outrageous proportions. do not go here expecting it to be an amazing experience because it wont be… unless you’re wanting to get drunk from the overpriced wine.

Love! Due to an allergy, I couldn’t have a drink here but the pasta was insane! We tried the spicy salami pasta OMG! So good. The ice cream flavors are super unique too. I got the Salt & Pepper ice cream and it was really nice and different. The space is VERY quaint and is mostly standing room so please note that before you go. Britt was awesome and made our first trip so fun!

I was excited to try Gemini based on all the hype, but sadly it falls well short. The menu has really tasty dishes. Unfortunately, a slew of arbitrary rules and a cramped setup created a frustrating ordeal. Inside, there are maybe four tiny high-tops, so you’re left hovering like a vulture, waiting for someone else to finish. There’s no ticketing or host system so people swoop in on tables, and staff barely notices who’s been waiting. You can only eat any of the pasta dishes inside the restaurant, no outdoor seating. It feels oddly restrictive. I was excited to try the pasta but wasn’t able to because I had already secured a seat outside. At the end of the day, the food is solid but not so exceptional that it justifies the hassle or the cost. You can find comparable pasta or wine at friendlier, more customer-focused spots for less. Gemini is a one-and-done experience for me.

We chose to get two pasta dishes shared between two of us. The portions were quite small & it totaled to $57, which is kinda crazy. The inside is really small, standing room first come first serve. We got a spot fairly quickly with no issues, but fair warning to large groups. There is outside seating, but it’s also minimal. All that being said, it was cute & I would give it another try before setting my mind fully

The food is so good and I love that friends from Little Serow were there to greet us! Little Serow was my favorite restaurant in DC for a long time and I still miss it every day. But I’m thrilled that I get a little taste of the quirky place it once was. It’s different kind of cuisine but it’s equally tasty!! I’ll be back again and again. For those who have basic ideas about what how a restaurant should be designed, please be forewarned by reading the cranky reviews and go elsewhere. Think tachinomi. I highly recommend this place!

Spent a weekend in DC from NYC, had a blast here. Eric is a gem and his wine knowledge is unparalleled. Just a fantastic vibe overall. My only gripe is I don’t live closer. Ramp pasta was insane and the gnocchi were like air pillows. The pricing is in line with similar restaurants. Definitely earns all the good reviews

Wish I’d taken photos of our food, which was fine and tasted very fresh, but it definitely felt overpriced. We (2 of us) split the tzatziki dip, a pasta each, and a glass of wine each, and it cost us $65 per person for dinner ($130 total including 20% tip). Staff were incredibly friendly and did their best to manage the crowd. Like others mention, you’re rushed to eat, share tables (but no “communal eating” vibe - felt a little competitive as tables are for “active food orders only”, so people are circling and staff ask you to move once you finish eating; some other diners weren’t excited to know that we would be scooting in next to them). The restaurant itself isn’t very accessible if you aren’t ready or able to be on your feet for a long period (stairway in, standing room at high tops only, at least when we were there). Hoping as it grows it can expand its menu options to be more affordable and expand its footprint to provide more seating! Would recommend trying it out just for a glass of wine first if you’re curious (get there early!). Other nearby spots like Floriana, Retrobottega, and Al Volo for pasta and Red Light for pizza offer the same/better food quality and have seating!!

Cute place we stopped in DC for a low key lunch. We got some of the pizza slices - reg slice and one with burrata. Both delicious! They also had ice cream which we had hoped to come back later for. We would come again. Enjoy.

The in-door ambiance was interesting because of the standing. My issue was that the people next to us would bump into us the entire meal because it is close quarters and the countertop was too tall so I had to hold my plate in my hand the entire meal to eat comfortably. We thought the food was good but overpriced. The pizza was more worth it for the price because it is a larger amount of food. The pizza had crispy edges and had a good serving of burrata on top and tasted good. The ice cream was the star of the show specifically the olive oil crumble ice cream. I recommend getting it in a cone because their cones are delicious, sort of a biscoff taste. I would come back just for the ice cream. The staff at the ice cream cart also let us sample every flavor and were very kind. The staff inside the restaurant were a bit rude to us as we were trying to navigate the restaurant.

Ice cream was delicious and arancini per my lady The pizza and wine was completely mid. If I were you walk over to 14th and get a better Detroit style pizza.... This was like a focaccia with some tomato sauce on it. This place is trendy and chic but tries to be NYC too hard.

I normally come for ice cream, but I found occasion to order some special high-end butter from France, and having done so decided to go ahead and get some food here as well. In the midst of a polar vortex, I waited for my stuff inside. The pizza was a foccacia style. I got both their basic one and a fancier cheese with burrata and oregano. The oregano had both a strong taste and a strong aftertaste. It took me a couple of goes to finish it and left me feeling a bit bloated, but it was certainly quality. The butter was of a smoothness and pureness befitting the difficulty of acquiring it. This is a high-end place, both in price and in quality. I also picked up some ice cream, as it was not the best day for a scoop on site, but I'm sure I'll want it eventually.

Wow I've been so excited to try Gemini! There's been a lot of buzz around this restaurant's food, wine, and ice cream. I don't love that there's no seats, it's a bit of a free for all finding a place to dine indoors or outdoors without chairs or tables LOL. But we were able to snag the window sill, grabbed a few glasses of wine, an app, and some pasta. The service was helpful and friendly, and the food came out quickly. The recommendation on drinks was top notch, and the cherry tomato and tzatziki was INCREDIBLE! We shared the ferretti with sweet corn and guanciale and the fileja alla 'nduja with spicy salami ragu & pecorino calabrese. Both were incredible in their own right. I wish me had enough room to try the pizza and ice cream as well. I'll definitely be back in warmer months to sit outside, try the ice cream, and continue to explore this ever changing menu.

This place is weird because there are actually no tables that you can sit at and the line is often so long that it wraps down the block. It's kind of like a Portlandia episode but the food was honestly really good. Highlights of the experience were the eggplant meatballs, which tasted nothing like eggplant and everything like real meatballs, any of the pastas and the cannoli was literally perfect. The service was really friendly and they answered lots of questions about the menu and we didn't feel rushed at all. I'd say it was worth a visit but just wish they had chairs!

Super cute space and concept, excellent and friendly service. We loved the hot chocolate, fries, and iced latte. I want to come back to try the ice cream soon!

I'm obsessed with this place. The pasta and pizza are super high quality and fresh. Loved the orecchiette with pork sausage ragu--it was just the right amount of spicy and a modest portion that let me enjoy the food without feeling stuffed afterwards. For pizza, get a kind with burrata or ricotta on top, they're excellent. The ice cream flavors are interesting and the rotation makes it exciting and special when a flavor that sounds especially good is available. Their hot cocoa is a thick European style that's like drinking melted chocolate. It comes with housemade marshmallows that have a little salty-sweet flavor going on. One of my favorite hot chocolates in DC! It looks like a small cup but it's so rich I don't think it would be wise to have more haha. Hours aren't great (closed Sunday) and standing room only inside. But they're serving special things here so it's worth it to me.

Gemini x Happy Ice Cream has amazing ice cream, wine and even butter! Only two complaints: no indoor seating and the food is pretty expensive. We loved their pasta, especially the tagliatelle and rigatoni, and I always end the night with their olive oil ice cream. They also sell Bordier butter - nothing beats it! Service is on point. Worth a visit.

The cons - Gelato by the scoop is only from open till 5pm. After 5pm, they do offer their gelato by the pints. It's a small space, but very cozy. It was difficult to get a table to dine in. You can order take out online but I believe that they stop taking care out orders at 5PM Pros - THE BEST PIZZA EVER. The vodka + pep and burrata was amazing. It is to die for. The crust was exceptionally crispy, dough was light and airy and sauce was FLAVOR. Honestly a perfect pie. Hats off to the chef. Customer service was also so friendly and helpful. Please do yourself a favor and try this lovely gem of an establishment.

This ice cream has to be some of the best ice cream in the city. It is so creamy and the flavors are so complex! The rhubarb oat vanilla ice cream was perfectly sweet yet tangy... I am dreaming of it if I'm honest! The coffee was good too, but I think if I came back, I'd love to try more of their fruity based ice cream. Or the olive oil ice cream! This spot is open 4:30 to 8 and the line grows very fast! But we were fortunately first! It is $9 for two scoops which is a bit much, but honestly it is so worth it. I cannot wait to come back and try more of their unconventional flavors.

I wish this spot had sit-down tables and took reservations! Despite the unconventional setup, I love Gemini. The pizza is incredible. My go-to order for a group of four is the mozzarella sticks and a whole pizza--half with vodka sauce, pepperoni, and burrata, and half featuring the seasonal special. The staff is friendly and helpful, and they have a great wine selection with knowledgeable recommendations. The ice cream is extremely overpriced but delicious. I've never tried the pasta because it's only served inside, where it's standing room only.

This might just turn into my top 5 pizza spots in DC! I've had this place on my list for a while, but I thought the hype was around the ice cream, not so much pizza. Unfortunately, they close rather early (8:30pm). We decided to try our luck and make our way there. There was actually a wine event going on so of course we had to try a glass of wine as well. We decided to get - 1/2 red with 'nduja, ricotta, chilies & honey 1/2 plain vodka sauce - 5/5 Can I just say, I've never had a crust like this before in my entire life? The bottom was the perfect amount of crisp and the middle was fluffy, doughy, and squishy. The sauce was a tad bit spicy for my liking, but the bread/crust made up for it. The wine paired flawlessly with the pizza. It was a little sweet, but not too sweet which paired great with the spicy and tanginess of the sauce. Of course I just HAD to get the ice cream. The kind man let us in as the last people to get served even though they were basically closed. We got the Olive Oil ice cream. It was good, but it did seem a bit olive oily for our liking. I didn't expect it to be this potent.

I have been here twice: 1. At 2:30pm on a Friday, and 2. 5:45pm on a Friday, and those two times were different experiences. 5 stars for the food quality, but -1 for the overall experience (not very comfortable). Experience #1: At 2:30 on a Friday, my husband and I just walked in. There was no line. You can only have dessert or wines at this time, there were no pizzas or pasta dishes. We bought a pint of salted caramel ice cream (no scoops at this time) and ordered a brown butter cake that the ice cream went well with. We sat at one of Gemini's tables on the street to enjoy. Experience #2: At 5:45 on a Friday, there were two lines during the dinner hour: one for dinner and one for the ice cream cart outdoors. My husband and I joined the line for eating in. We waited while the line moved slowly. Once the tables fill up with the first "seating (standing?)", people aren't going to budge for at least 30-45 minutes. The line goes up to the counter for ordering, where you pay, and they'll give you a number. Indoors, you look for a high table to stand at (since there are no seats). We had a table by 6:30, so it was a 45 minute wait from the time we joined the line. You can browse the wines on the shelves while you wait, to think about which bottle you'd like to order. They will bring your wine/food to you, but they have water in pitchers and cups for self-service. The indoor tables are all shareable with other people, so it's not romantic. Good spot for friends and casual dates with a long-time partner. It is a bit cramped indoors. Families would prefer to eat their pizza at one of the outdoor tables. I do not know how you would order just pizza in this scenario, a different reviewer might give that information. My husband and I ordered two pasta dishes, and 1/2 a grandpa pizza pie, which is the perfect amount for two people and very filling. The pasta dishes came out quickly, within 10 minutes, and the pizza came a few minutes after we finished our pasta. The food was delicious, very flavorful. As for the pizza, I love the focaccia bread! Afterwards, we stood in the ice cream cart line, but then left the line after 10 minutes (we had a play to get to). I would say it takes about 2 minutes per customer group, since they allow for sampling, and they only have one person to scoop the ice cream.

Good food; pretty darn crowded; and kinda odd rules and set up for eating. All said, I would definitely come back. Starting with the food, we got the pizza and it was delicious. It's also a lot of food (the half pizza is more than enough for one person and you'll probably still have leftovers). But it comes with a price tag! Over $50 for the half pizza, a glass of wine, and the taxes and tip. Was a little shocked when they rang it up. Came here right around 5:30pm on a weekday and there was literally a line out the door. But still the line moves reasonably fast and we probably waited only about 15 minutes. (If you just want ice cream, there's a separate line outside for that). On the rules situation, it is odd that you can only order pasta if you are eating indoors but not outdoors. They're also pretty limited on seating in general (maybe five seated tables total and the rest is kinda a stand and eat at a table top or bar situation). I didn't mind eating at the table top, but some people might.

We got here around 5:45 PM last Wednesday and the inside (a few standing areas to eat, no sitting tables) was already packed. To order, we had to wait in line and the server at the front will ring it all up. There is a small outdoor seating area (all pretty small, no more than 4 per table) but that meant we couldn't enjoy their pasta which is indoors only! The 3 of us shared an appetizer and two pizza halves (which are all Sicilian square style). EGGPLANT PARM ARANCINI - 11 Each order came with 3 arancini, which was filled generously with mozzarella, rice, and eggplant bits. Delicious, hearty, and crispy -- this was good but nothing out of the ordinary. I've never had them with eggplant before, so that was unique. WHOLE GRANDPA PIZZA - 30 +7 for 1/2 vodka with pepperoni & burrata I started with the vodka with pepperoni and burrata because I LOVE burrata. And indeed, it truly hit the spot. The pizza dough was thick with extremely crispy sides that wowed me. The initial crunch before the soft, slightly chewy landing for the rest of the bite was phenomenal. This is definitely a top pizza for me in the DMV. The burrata was smooth and creamy, and the pepperoni were savory. I did find this slice a bit greasy/oily, but the slice was so tasty and flavorful I didn't mind as much. Great slice, I'd definitely recommend! +6 for 1/2 red with 'Nduja, ricotta, chilies & honey I was kind of full after the first slice, but I knew I had to keep going to try the 'Nduja, ricotta, chilies & honey. 'Nduja (after a quick Google search) is an Italian spread made of pork sausage. The flavors were very deep with a nice sweetness that came from the honey. The chilies added a bit of a kick with every bite, and the ricotta's slight graininess was an interesting choice. Personally, I'll always pick burrata over ricotta for a creamy cheese topping. Overall, this was a very unique pizza option I don't see at most establishments. It was delicious and we'd highly recommend this one to try something you don't normally get! The food was phenomenal, but my only qualm is the seating. I understand it's meant to be more of a casual dining experience, but it was pretty uncomfortable and a tight squeeze for the three of us. I feel like getting the pizza takeout would not be as tasty, so I'd brave it out again in the future and enjoy the food within the establishment. My friends got ice cream at the Happy Ice Cream cart after dinner which is a classic move. Delicious ice cream with unique flavors, four to choose from each day.

This is hands down the most ridiculous restaurant I've ever been to lol - straight out of Portlandia. Super pretentious, self-important, incompetent staff. There are a bunch of arbitrary rules and the staff seem to really, really enjoy being as condescending as possible if anyone infringes on these precious rules. That seems to be their main focus - not providing an enjoyable experience - instead their focus is watching you very closely to make sure no one is breaking the rules. If you do, be prepared for a public shaming. The food was overpriced for what it is, especially when you have to tolerate the people who work there. The ice cream is very good - someone needs to rescue whoever is make the ice cream in the back.

The olive oil ice cream is delicious and absolutely worth waiting in line for (the cart outside). Everything inside the restaurant is absolutely not worth it and I would recommend passing. It's an insanely small interior and the outdoor seating space is extremely limited. The food is absurdly overpriced and not even good. We paid $28 for that tiny plate of mushy pesto gnocchi

Gemini is the product of a friend group that has one friend who's a good cook and the rest of the people have industry experience but don't really know how to run a restaurant. There are many weird rules, segmented hours, and insider knowledge you need to navigate Gemini. Unfortunately, about 75% of their ice cream is some of the best you can get in the city. Vanilla & oats with sourdough caramel is my favorite flavor of all time and the lemon sherbet was superb. Some of the chocolate flavors are a little weaker. I'm not a part of the Gemini cult, so I hadn't been since they moved scoops inside and unfortunately, the cashier during my visit was extremely condescending and rude about some of the (unspoken) rules of scoops inside vs scoops outside. If the ice cream wasn't so dang good, I wouldn't return to deal with the quirks (like no seating inside or pasta outside) and anxiety of asking the wrong question at the wrong time. The magician making ice cream in the back just keeps delivering and I have to try them all

This review is specifically for the ice cream cart (Happy Ice Cream)! I've now tried the cart twice. The first time was almost 2 years ago, and I had a more negative experience: customers weren't allowed to sample any flavors before buying, the honey and goat cheese ice cream (if I recall the flavor correctly!) was missing punch and had only a few drops of honey, and I left feeling that I was missing something about all the hype around this spot. I'm so glad that I went back this year to give them a second chance. This time was a complete 180: the guy running the cart was so friendly and happy to explain all the flavors, I was able to taste them before buying (which I'm grateful for because I thought I was getting the coconut cookies and cream and ended up despising the texture, whereas the olive oil and strawberry that I was planning to skip blew me away), and both the mix-ins and the scoop size felt generous. I got a double scoop of the Basque cheesecake and passionfruit as well as the olive oil gelato with strawberry. The former was solid, but personally I felt it leaned too much into the burnt taste at the top of a Basque cheesecake and not enough into the creamy richness underneath, and that charred flavor also overpowered the passion fruit. However, I admire how unique the flavor was and I did enjoy trying it a lot! I would give it a solid 3/5. The olive oil gelato was the star of the show. The fruitiness just worked perfectly with the strawberry, and the texture was so smooth and rich - a 5/5 flavor for me. Their cones are unique and a bit like Biscoff cookies. I am so glad to have gotten this one - I'll be back to buy a pint of their olive oil gelato in the future for sure! It was a hot day, and the great service and great ice cream was the perfect pick-me-up. Prices are high but broadly in line with other DC ice cream shops: $7 for a single and $9 for a double. Pints are where they start to get crazy at $15 each (but I do appreciate the quality ingredients they use). For context, they have 4 rotating flavors every evening that they're open. They change daily and you can find the exact line-out around noon on their Instagram. This selection is different from the flavors you can buy in the scoop shop inside, which can be browsed on their website. There is outdoor seating, but the indoors is cramped and generally reserved for those ordering off their dinner menu, so plan to grab and go if the weather isn't great. I am so glad to have this little cart putting out creative flavors so close to me, and I'll have to come back with friends to try more!

Staff came by to ask how our experience was and did not take criticism well. Told them we were sad that they weren't serving pepperoni (which based on reviews and my past experiences is a bestseller). I was told in return that the menu changes daily and we can check the menu before hand and should have ordered based on that. Thanks Sherlock. While this is obviously true, we have been multiple times and pepperoni is always there. Don't ask about customer feelings if you aren't going to take feedback well. Left that interaction feeling like I got slapped in the face after dropping 91 dollars on my mid tier pizza (that I did in fact look and the menu and decide to buy) and two glasses of wine.

Came to Gemini just to try some ice cream. They have rotating flavors and then their signatures flavors as well. I got the olive oil and the ube banana. The olive oil was very delicious, I can see why it is a staple. The ube was very good as well, especially if you like banana. None of the food options inside jumped out at me. They did have some wine options I would like to come back and try. It was a bit crowded inside so I didn't have a chance to order.

Such a great ice cream shop! Stopped by for a couple scoops outside and they were so lovely. There flavors change daily and are fresh and creative Also it is really priced for their outdoor scoops. Two scoops with a cone is only $8. Went to the Malai a few days before and they charge me $10 for a "split scoop" no cone with a tip screen.

Only tried their ice cream (so far), and it was absolutely delicious! I tried dark chocolate (caramelized) and basque cheesecake (passion fruit swirl). The dark chocolate is SO good; it was richly deep but also complex and sweet due to the caramelization. It was very unique and amazing! Basque cheesecake was a combination of tangy refreshing fruit and salty crumbly texture. Very nice service.

Absolutely LOVE Gemini. The bites are absolutely delicious, the wine selection is amazing, and the ice cream is some of the best I've ever had. I loved the one with the mini marshmallows and how soft and fluffy the ice cream was. Also, the ambience is so fun and welcoming and everyone who works here is incredible. Will definitely be back

This is such a fun spot in the city! Everything we got was delicious, but we especially enjoyed the pizza with creamed spinach - it was the perfect balance of creamy, garlicky, and spicy. We split two bottles of wine between four people and both were delicious!

3.5 The vodka pizza was good, it had flavor and crisp. I wouldn't say it was good as something like Prince St Pizza in NY cuz I don't feel like the ingredient are as quality from the cheese to the sauce. They didn't feel as rich in flavor. I'd say it's one of better spots for pizza in dc though. The olive oil scoop was ok but I wouldn't get it again, not a fan of olive oil on ice cream. But the vanilla scoop was amazing with the cookie crumble. The staff were all smiles and friendly. They brought pizza out to me while I was getting scoop of ice cream. Nice clean environment and in a walking friendly neighborhood.

All the food I've tried has been phenomenal. From the pizza, to the ice cream to the insane bacon egg and cheese breakfast burrito special. Be prepared to wait though, as it is a very small shop and typically busy. I would eat here more if I could. Food is worth the price but definitely not cheap. ($16 for burrito, $18 for 3 slices of pizza and $7 for a scoop of ice cream). Maybe they will expand their operation soon - I hope!

This place was buzzing! The pizza was incredible, crunchy, saucy and fluffy. 10/10. It came out rather quickly and service was great. I'm not much of a wine guy, I like it, but don't know much about it. However were a bunch of options. I wish there were more seating options, the patio is really the only place if you wanna sit. other than that it's standing room inside.

I'm not really sure I understand this place. There is no seating out inside only seating outside if you want pasta, you can only eat it inside but I guess you have to spend $25 and eat it standing up. There's a wine beer insider and you think the price on the bottle is how much it cost, but if you want to eat, drink the wine at the location they charge you an extra $15 I bought a $20 bottle of cider and ended up spending $35 for it then they go cheaper than going to a bar really? The pizza was very tasty and I like the flavor combinations, and the salad was lovely. I think both of them were worth every cent. There was a long line outside for people wanting to get ice cream. I asked some people how long they had been standing in line and they were not sure they close at 8:30 on the weekends. It seems I'm just not sure why this place is so popular.

love the food, atmosphere and the service. you cannot make a reservation so if you want a seat outside or stand inside by a table (no seats inside) you need to go a bit early because this neighborhood spot gets busy. we went around 5pm (their dinner service starts at 5:30) and we were one of the first people to order. We got the squash (delicious), arancini (delicious) and 2 pastas (delicious but you can only order the pastas indoors). everything was super tasty. next time we cannot wait to try their pizzas and awesome wine collection

My first time here was for ice cream. I do not remember the flavor but I remember it being very delicious. Once I found out they also had dinner, serving pizza and pasta, I was excited to try both. I ordered online for pickup and was disappointed by the meat options. Nevertheless, I got the pork sausage. Picking up was stress-free and very smooth with prompt service. Inside was cute but with only standing tables and no chairs, sadly. Unfortunately, for some reason, they do not allow customers to take the pasta leftovers, which deterred me from ordering it. Now, the pork sausage pizza could have tasted better for the price. It was extremely underwhelming, and surprising given all the wonderful reviews everywhere. Perhaps I will return to try the pasta and the ice cream again but definitely not the pizza.

the concept of this restaurant is kind of crazy. there are no chairs inside and you have to fight for standing spot at a table and they won't let you order unless you find yourself a standing spot. they also don't accept to go orders on weekends which makes no sense since it's basically impossible to find a spot on weekends. you're also not allowed to order pasta if you're sitting outside (outside seating is the only spot i've seen that actually has chairs). the staff is very passive aggressive, the restaurant is so small, and i have to stand while eating. i would not recommend this place at all unless you can manage ordering to go. fyi if you order to go half to menu isn't an option.

I love Happy Ice cream. I go every other day and sometimes every day in the summer. The staff are so friendly and always down for a good conversation. The flavors are amazing. Keep an eye out for chocobanana, tangelo, labne, grapefruit brulee, and others.

Found this spot on IG and decided to give it a try during a 3-day trip to DC with a friend. We had dinner on Friday and were so pleased that we returned the next day. Service was great on both occasions, the team is super friendly and helpful with menu recommendations. Super cute interior with a good wine selection. We tried several appetisers and pastas (some not pictured), everything was absolutely delicious. The daily wine options by the glass were great as well. The pasta menu is only available for dine-in and there are no seated tables, unusual but we enjoyed the experience! Ended both meals with ice cream from the booth outdoors. Special shoutout to Eric; my friend had wanted to purchase some hot sauce to-go, we tried it with the pork gyros and it was really good - and Eric made it happen (we got the very last available bottle!).

This is hands down the best chocolate ice cream I've ever had. It was creamy and rich without being cloyingly sweet and had notes of orange zest. I arrived right at 4:30 on a Wednesday and was served promptly. We also enjoyed the basque cheesecake passion fruit ice cream. We will be back!

Rude service and confusing "rules" on how to order, etc. We were asked to get up from our table and stand, despite the fact that we were still wrapping up eating, to make room for others yet it had just rained so no one was there. So we just stood there despite having dropped $200 on dinner. Tables remained unoccupied for 30 mins. Server talked to us like we were in PK3 and called us "friends" when asking us to leave our table???

Absolutely love the food here, and the vibes are incredible. This is the perfect place to meet friends after work, split some pizza, split a bottle of wine, and yap to your heart's content. The only reason I deduct a star is similar to comments from other reviewers - the rules are weird. For example, one rule is that you can't eat pasta outside. Mind you, they only have 2 tables inside and pasta makes up half their menu. They're a wine bar, and they sell wine bottles that you can take home or enjoy with your meal. Yet they charge a corkage fee of $15 per bottle. In that case, I think they should encourage bringing your own wine because that's a steep fee. At that point just increase the prices of everything and say free corkage lol

We ordered the eggplant parm arancini and Gkogkes pasta. The food is good but definitely overpriced. My Gkogkes probably had like 15 pieces of noodles and was $24. Definitely more of an appetizer. They also have a $15 "corking fee" for wine that you buy in their shop, which is a cash grab IMO, especially since they don't come back to refill you or anything. They literally put our bottle in an igloo cooler on the table. This place is definitely more of a concept where there a lot of weird table rules and no seats. The tables are also communal. I would like to try to ice cream but the line was insane when we left. I don't think I'd come back here. I would maybe only consider take out.

A "laissez-faire" concept with an inordinate amount of rules. It's an unflattering reflection of the two-faced zodiac namesake. Despite well-executed eats, the restaurant's uncomfortable free-stand-for-all experience and hit-or-miss service cramp its ambition. Pairing a perfect ice cream operation with what can be a pretentious bar atmosphere is a novel experiment. It allows patrons to indulge in homegrown cravings while attempting to understand the esoteric world of "organic" wines. Hence Gemini's duality. But the novelty wears off once you're butting elbows with a GW student on their third glass refusing to make space for your $100 order, or scuttled into corner by an employee who says "you're sure to find a table space soon," but whose eyes say they really can't make that promise. All in all, it's an unfair model for both the customer and front of house. A restaurant driven primarily by wine should allow space for patrons to languish in the drink's relaxing nature. Push the ordering counter back, put more stools and tables in. Let people enjoy their fare without other customers hovering over their shoulder.

Great food, but weird workers and weird rules. For instance, this establishment has a rule against eating pasta outside. However, they allow for pizza to be eaten outside? The workers are also trained to intimidate customers into eating the pasta inside. We were terrified to pick up our pasta as the worker had placed it on a jam packed table (that we did not select) where she said "you must sit here". Overall, this was just an incredibly weird and uncomfortable experience. I will not be returning.

This place is a total gem to visit. The joy of getting ice cream from a little cart is so particular and special. Recently I enjoyed a very mid meal at a nearby place and my mood was saved with a scoop of the uber banana ice cream with caramel and snickerdoodle. Delightful. I love visiting and sitting in their little patio seating, but since it is now winter I hope to get pickup sometime. The pizza here comes in big thick slices, with a nice crisp exterior and plush chewy but fluffy bite, reminiscent of focaccia. By far the best flavor of pizza I had was a seasonal squash variety they had. Someone I took here declared the mozz sticks the best they've ever had in their life. I also love to order their sides, which almost always includes a refreshing salad. I wouldn't be above just getting ice cream though, because the flavors are absolutely dreamy. Last visit I just got my little scoop and popped into the shop up the stairs to browse their wine selection. It is a cozy little space and the employee happened to have a similar palate to mine, so props to her for all these excellent recs.

Starting with the good, the pizza was incredibly light and fluffy, have never had dough like that. It could have used more sauce for my taste but I liked the hint of spiciness it had. It was also $18 for the half pie which was three slices and honestly I don't think they're thattt big for $6 a slice.. The seating situation and rules are so disorienting and unpleasant that I would probably only go back to get takeout pizza if that. - If you get a bottle of wine and want to have it there it's an extra $15 on top of the bottle price - There's maybe three or so high top tables inside but with no chairs so you have to stand the whole time. There's a patio with four or five tables outside that you can sit at - You can only order the pastas inside and eat them inside, not at the patio or for takeout so you would have to eat it standing - You have to wait for someone to escort you to the bathroom since it's behind the ordering counter - It took people about an hour to get ice cream at the stand outside on a Saturday night so definitely be prepared for a wait, or just get a pint inside lol. there was only one girl scooping the whole time while plenty of staff around that could have maybe tag teamed to make it go faster but idk. The space isn't actually that tiny, if they removed the ordering counter and put tables inside actually utilizing the whole space then there would be a good amount of seating.

Not only is the ice cream here incredible, but they let you try all the flavors!! Which was especially helpful because they're very unique combinations. The concept of Gemini is perfect, with pizzas, pastas, small plates, and wine served in an ultra casual setting with plenty of outdoor tables. The pizzas were pretty heavy, but delicious for the few bites I had, and I wish you could take the pasta to go/outside. Otherwise, huge fan!!!

Vodka pizza was incredible. Sauce is great. The labneh and fries were okay - I probably wouldn't get them again. Also this place has some weird rules. You can't order pasta for take out or eat it outside? You also have to stand and eat indoors if you do want to eat at the restaurant. Food was fine, but the rules are weird.

Thick & bready flavorful slices of pizza! Fun to mix and match and try all of them! Unexpected, but LOVED the white slice with peas, taleggio, and pepper! The vodka with pepperoni and Burrata slices were delicious too! The vibe is super cute inside - although finding seating is difficult. The wine shelf is also organized and it is so easy to choose a bottle! Overall would love to come here again! Service was also great!
