I'm so glad we stumbled upon this spot yesterday! The food was delicious and the customer service provided by Jennifer was top tier! If you are looking for some good Cajun/Creole dishes, check it out! OAN that seafood rice is a must!

We stopped by for a quick meal and this lovely restaurant did not disappoint. We shared the seafood platter and it was plenty for 2 people. I usually opt out of fried food but this one was worth a once in a while meal to experience the southern seafood cuisine 🍤

What a great place staff is really friendly everything is homemade. I got gumbo it was amazing. Pimento cheese fries were great first time I ever had something like that. I would love to go back but we just stopped on our way while traveling. But seriously if you are in the area try it out.

Great food and friendly atmosphere. The #11 fried eggs n rice reminded me of my mother's. The grilled shrimp added a special touch. My momma didn't put shrimp in hers 😀 Portions were more than enough.

Found this place because I was looking for some flounder and saw the pictures of rhe wings. We got there late and they were still accommodating and we did not feel rushed. They are family owned and they cook with love. The wings were crispy and seasoned well. We had the jerk rub, lemon pepper, Carolina gold and bourbon. Wife and I had the flounder platter with red rice, mac and cheese, corn bread, string beans and cucumbers and tomatoes salad. Everything was so good felt like home cooking. My brother had the shrimp platter and he loved his food as well. We will make this a regular when we are back in South Carolina. We definitely recommend this place when you are in the Charleston area!

Wow! Great seafood, wonderful, friendly fast service and fun atmosphere. We were tourists passing through the area, and we were on a mission to find food. We were so hungry. We almost missed this place that was tucked in the very back of this strip center. It was only the sign "restaurant" at the road that caught our attention. We had no idea what kind of restaurant. Well, we found out: Seafood! The portion sizes are large and delicous. It only took a matter of minutes to cook up our order fresh. I had the fish & chip basket, which included four large pieces of fresh haddock, french fries, and hushpupies. My wife had the fried shrimp. Everything was so good.

Yes and yes, we were on our way to Charleston for a couple of days and this place hit our radar. Damn good food, good service and some of the friendliest people around. I think we met most of the family and we could tell that the food was made with love and the blueberry pie was unlike any pie I have ever had, that alone is worth a trip back. If you want to feel like you walked into the place you always knew was out there but never found then here it is. Love, food to die for and you just don't want to leave. Also, we wanted for nothing during our visit. I just can't say enough great stuff about Genesis!

Such a hidden gem! It’s just a bit past The Food Lion at the intersection of Hwys 17 & 165. My friend and I each had the “Eggs and Rice” dish that was loaded with shrimp and sausage. Light, flavorful and a giant portion. And get this… the price? $11.11. We each took a piece of homemade cake home and all in it was just over$20.00 - with leftovers for tomorrow. Definitely add it to your list!

Wow!!How to begin a review of this wonderful restaurant. The seafood is always fresh and fried with a light batter. There is plenty of main non-seafood options too. With the vegetables you could make a main course. We actually drive over an hour from Moncks Corner at least once a month. If we lived locally I don't think I would cook just so we could order food to pick up. I highly recommend Genesis L Blue Waters. They always make us feel special when we walk in the door.

I ordered the fried flounder platter with a side of Mac n cheese and red rice. The fish was so flaky and crisp, not overly breaded like many other restaurants. The Mac n cheese was also creamy and flavorful. I could have gone for seconds. The red rice was delicious! The only thing I would have changed would be swapping the meat for beans. My favorite source of protein! The lovely woman who took our order I can only assume was the owner. I really enjoyed our conversation and how pleasant she was. Cute little place that's located in a strip mall. Please don't pass it by as I highly suggest you try their delicious food for yourself.

I'm asked what was amazing; I'm saying what wasn't! NOTHING Well, except the hours. But everything, from the service, to the food, to the gracious hospitality was just Genesis: the original - the warm, helpful, prepared without interference - the food, friendly atmosphere... Ok, I'm getting ready to go back to. Visit, indulge and relish the experience because it's a rarity

Simply amazing!!! The service was great, ambience and food was everything!! I had the seafood rice and fried fish, which had real crab meat, scallops, oysters and shrimps with bell peppers and onions. It was seasoned to perfection and very tasty!! The portions was huge... I definitely will have food for lunch and dinner tomorrow!!

Disappointing. The reviews drew us to this place on a Saturday at 2:00. We were the only people in the restaurant. We were informed as we ordered that they had no burgers or flounder. Ordered a shrimp basket, Aquaman fish sandwich, the #11 rice special, and the Lima beans and rice that were the special of the day. Shrimp was good, fish sandwich was just ok. Rice dish was bland and the limas tasted bitter like they had burnt. From the other reviews I can only assume it was an off day

went to the cajun food festival and génesis le bleu waters was pulled there. tried out their cajun shrimp & fries and it was sooo good. had a strong kick to it with the buffalo sauce and the fries were so delicious. I definitely recommend this place. all their food looked top tier

The food is alright but doesn't taste like fresh seafood. My husband had the seafood rice dish/bowl but he said he didn't find much crab or scallops but enjoyed the shrimp in it. I had grilled flounder but not very tasty and wondered if it was really founder. We felt the prices were a little steep for what we got but if in the area again we might give it another try. Anyone can have a not so good day.

We weren't expecting this it's fabulous. Very pleasant people but their food is incredible. They're number 11 which is rice Cajun spices, shrimp, egg, and then andouli sausage is what I had. It is a huge portion and so good. My husband had the burger which was good, but it wasn't anything as wonderful as mine.

On a road trip and everyone one was hungry. Found this place last minute and the reviews were high. We gave it a shot. Mrs Jennifer waited on us and gave us solid recommendations. Wow the food hit the spot and exceeded expectations. The restaurant is a bit hidden and the gps made us pass the spot. If you're facing the food lion it's on the far right side in the smaller shopping plaza next door. This a hidden gem and would recommend it to others!

Bet places are local and in strip malls. This is one. Run by 2 sisters. Lunch, two huge flounders with hush puppies, shrimp wrap, huge tasty. Nice clean place, very friendly, make you feel at home. 4 stars only because the fish was too salty for my taste, but very fresh. Oh yea, the string bean were very crisp with seasoning. Very out of the way in Food Lion center, bu5 worth the ride. Frank G

The food was outstanding and delicious, the service excellent. We felt totally welcomed and showered with great food. It is well worth a stop on your way to or from Charleston.

This is a hidden gem of a down home cooking restaurant in Ravenel, and well worth the drive from West Ashley. This was our second trip here and again, it did not disappoint. It starts with the sweet tea..... and any of you true southerners know this. Good sweet tea makes or breaks the meal! It's a simple thing, but for some reason a lot of restaurants struggle with this. I'm happy to report the sweet tea is awesome! For dinner we had the perfectly seasoned and fried pork chops, creamy smokey macaroni and cheese, and lightly seasoned green beans. My wife had the same meal but with okra and it was also excellent. The plates feel like they are made by your grandmother; its got that type of feel to it. We left stuffed and happy. The only thing you could possibly say outdoes the food is the service. The server is one of those rare genuine people pleasers. We couldn't have enjoyed our experience more and plan to come back soon. If you're looking for quality southern cooking at very reasonable prices, look no further!

Stopped in while driving from Florida to Charleston and could not have randomly picked a more perfect place. Food was more than amazing than I could've imagined and service was so wonderful. Legitimately the best fried shrimp and cornbread I've ever had.

Found this gem by accident while stopping for gas going into Charleston. Incredible, huge fried shrimp with the best cocktail sauce I've ever eaten. Will be timing my exit to coincide with lunch so I can try something else!

Hidden behind a dollar store, this spot is amazing. Best shrimp and hush puppies. Great service too. The real deal without being pretentious.

The food here was wonderful and perfectly seasoned. The wings were crunchy and crispy, while the rice was very flavorful as well. Our waiter was very nice and didn't rush us at all. The decor of the restaurant was very unique with a very nice story that the family might tell you. Overall a great restaurant with good food, good service, and good people.

We found this little spot in Ravenel as we were waiting to get our Covid shot. The young woman behind the counter the owner I believe was one of the most positive people I've met in a while and if you know her story it brings it even more to light. Her and her sister run the restaurant and I will tell you we had some of the best chicken wings we've had since we've been in the south! And served with a smile I highly recommend supporting this restaurant during these tough times!

During our vacay, we searched for a breakfast spot that turned into looking for lunch. That happens when you're having a lazy vacation day. This place featured blue crabs so we set out for the 35min drive to check it out. It's in a strip mall/plaza sort of to the back of the plaza. It's decorated with many colors in a confusing uncomplimentary way. Unfortunately, they didn't have any crabs so we suddenly felt bad about making the drive. We started out with the wings which were really good. Then we ordered the eggs and rice which was super bland, the seafood platter that isn't worth mentioning, and a low country boil with shrimp, corn, potatoes and such that was bland as well. The service wasn't the best. We had to ask for silverware, side plates, napkins, etc and it wasn't crowded at all. I wanted to like this place because of the story behind it but the food just didn't make the cut. Side note: everyone there was friendly

Just had late lunch there with my family. The owner and the waitress are super friendly ! The food was great! We loved the garlic butter crabs and other things. Sweet tea was the best! Highly recommend ! Pls support this family owned restaurant during this tough time!

Simple place with a lot of heart and soul. Service was friendly. The food was simple and well cooked with very large portions. We are visiting the area so this will not be a regular spot for us but our family here are looking to come again.

I have had their shrimp and rice, which was amazing. I've also had their lemon pepper wings, which are also amazing. The staff is very sweet and friendly and the service is excellent.

We had to wait for quite a while to get our food. My club was sparsely filled with no dressing on it. The chicken sandwich was okay. Fries were good. People were very friendly and decor pleasant and bright.
