The 8 Best Restaurant Vendors At Shaky Knees At Central Park - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"Island Noodles is always our festival food MVP. As soon as we spot the steam coming from huge woks, we start salivating for their delicious soy-drenched soba noodles mixed with broccoli, peppers, and snap peas. Plus, you get a generous portion of noodles, which are served in Chinese takeout containers that make it easy for us to walk and eat without missing a beat. Get these noodles to gear up for a high-energy set like Matt and Kim, so you can feel somewhat full without the regrettable after effects of greasier food options." - jacinta howard, juli horsford

Came to Genki after craving some sushi and enjoyed the dinner! Service was really good, our waitress was super sweet and came to check on us constantly. She was also kind enough to take off a cocktail that my partner didn’t enjoy. Very little wait to be seated and for our food to come out, but it was pretty empty when we arrived so that may have been why. Food was great, ordered four different rolls (Muege, Prado, Spicy Soto, and Electric Eel) all of which we enjoyed. We also ordered some chicken egg rolls as an appetizer, which weren’t our favorite but still enjoyable enough for us to finish them. Portion size was pretty nice, getting 10 pieces per roll. Definitely more filling than your usual 6-8 pieces typically given. All in all the visit was enjoyable and hopefully we will be returning again in the future!

Came here for a late lunch/early dinner and had the best experience. Halie and the rest of the service team took tremendous care of us. The food came out quickly and was tasty. Highly recommend.

I’ve only been going to Genki for a couple of months since moving to Georgia, but it’s already one of my favorite places. I went on a Wednesday and got a great deal on a half-off bottle of wine. The sushi and noodles were fresh, flavorful, and really hit the spot. The vibe is relaxed, the service is friendly, and the food is always on point. Definitely worth checking out if you haven’t been yet!

So disappointed. Ordered the Spiderman Roll for delivery and there was no crab in it at all. There was some fry batter, but no crab inside. What a rip-off. Maybe their standards are lower for delivery, but when I paid $20 for crab sushi, I expect crab (even "crab sticks" are acceptable). I ripped all the pieces of sushi apart and only found 1 tiny piece of crab. It's like ordering a burger and only getting a bun & piece of lettuce.

4 September 2025: So I first discovered this place when they had a food truck at the Cobb International Festival in Marietta. I ate their beef ramen bowl and dumplings, and it was so good that I made it a point to try their physical location. So a couple weeks later, I did just that! Service was amazing. The manager and my server were both attentive. I was indecisive about which cocktail I wanted, so the manager (Kellen or Hellen) gave me a free Lychee Martini. She said that's one of their top sellers. I appreciate the manager's kind gesture, but I did not like my cocktail. I did not appreciate the over-the-top sweetness of the Lychee Martini. The more I continued drinking it, the more I realized I could not handle its sweetness. It was soooo sweet that I had to cut it down with a pour of pineapple juice. This helped and was the only way for me to finish the drink. My entrée was the Japanese curry chicken with the brown rice. It was quite bland and disappointed me the more I continued to eat it. My scrambled eggs didn't contain any salt or pepper. I didn't realize I had to request that. I don't like wasting food or my money, so I ended up finishing my bowl -- took me a while to finish it, though. Won't be getting that again. I'm not giving up on this place because I'm going to try other food options. Their mango sorbet was sweet, fresh, and refreshing. Each day during the week, they have specials. So I went on a Tuesday, and they offer $2 off each menu item. They also give military discount, but you can't combine two offers at once. I'm definitely gonna come here on another Tuesday, just to get my $2 deal, lol. I may just end up sticking with my beef ramen bowl and dumplings since that's already proven to be yummy.

Michelle was an absolute gem! From the moment we were seated, she made us feel welcome and taken care of. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect throughout our meal. Food was AMAIZING!

Google
Grabbed some lunch and loaded up with apps and lunch specials...only 2 of us but couldn't stop eating...soooo good. Had edamame and eggs rolls to start. Edamame was solid with a great garnish to add some flavor. The Egg Rolls had two sauces....a white that had some kick to it and a darker which tasted like a plum sauce. For the main dish I had sushi and 1/2 chicken bowl with low mein noodles both which came with salad for one and miso soup for the other since they were lunch specials. My mom had a full bowl. Everything was so good with the Miso soup being a solid 8/10 but was really the only dish that was standard tasting. The sushi I added extra ginger and someone we ate almost everything!!!! You have to try this place. The hostess said they even have a food truck so look them up!!!

Google
My server/ waiter Hailey was amazing!!! She recommended a very amazing roll based on what I had a taste for which was the Himalayan. And the shrimp bowl was everything. The food was amazing but her service was definitely top tier! She has an amazing vibe that just made the food I had even more great! I will definitely return especially for the specials they have for lunch time and just the food in general.

Yelp
GN&S has really awesome selections. I've done a lot of research on this restaurant and understand their connection to Japan. That's a huge plus. I think the Door Dash app UI needs adjusting so that it reflects what the restaurant can actually provide (e.g. quantity increases). I wish them great success. I wish we could leave them notes on delivery orders aside from a full on review. I wish we knew who was on staff so that the actual chef and preparer could be credited. I'm asking a lot. arigatogosaimasu - you are appreciated.

Yelp
This is a fairly casual spot for sushi in Sandy Springs. The location is convenient with free parking. Service was prompt and friendly. The BBQ rib appetizer was quite tasty, though the deep fried spinach does wilt fast, so you'd better eat it quickly. We had two kinds of sushi, both of which were a solid "pretty good", but nothing that would make you say that this is the sushi spot that you've been searching for your whole life. Same with the calamari--good, but not outstanding. I'd definitely return for a casual meal, but it wouldn't be a "must see" or something for a special occasion.

Yelp
Delicious and satisfying meal! The Chicken Katsu Curry was crispy and flavorful, the Carbonara Udon offered a creamy, tasty twist, and the Sushi Roll was fresh and well-made. Great variety and quality--would order again!

Ariel C.

Yelp
I come here fairly regularly for sushi. They have a good variety of rolls - not an overwhelming amount but enough. The prices are decent and they always get the orders right. I love cream cheese in sushi but I find they put too much in sometimes. I also have to order the sauce on the side for some of the rolls because it overpowers them (especially the sweet and spicy chili sauce). It's usually pretty quiet and the waiters are usually attentive. I don't love all the tv's with sports playing but it is what it is.

Yelp
Best restaurant in the ATL for unique dishes. Their menu has more different items than any restaurant around. Try these three: Tuna Symphony - wonderful sushi Portobello and Spinach - my favorite all time Mixed Veggie Bowl - I know....sounds simple but it bursts with flavor! The best dishes we have had! Been coming here 25 years. Love it!

Yelp
The sushi was ok, but the ceviche was horrible. It was sweet and I have never tasted ceviche like it before. It was not marinated in lime, but tasted like sugar instead. I definitely won't order it again.

Yelp
We always have an excellent experience at GN&S.. Our favorite order is always the Sushi Bomb. Great big selection of Sushi & Sashimi. Also great value for what you get. The service is outstanding. Highly recommended !!

Yelp
Rice in nigiri was chewy and dry. Service was non-existent The service staff was more interested in hovering around the bar area, talking and eating rather than serving. I wanted to order more items while eating but they never came around. No greetings and I had to east myself. Got my own menu too. Floors dirty and counters dirty.
google avatar

Rochelle W.

Yelp
Love this location it was my first visit here Great atmosphere Ample parking Great cocktails and food My favorite item on the menu is the portobello mushrooms with fried spinach Head on over whenever you are in the area

Yelp
Good menu selection. that was my first time trying sushi burrito the way I see it it's a bigger version of a hand roll, but nevertheless, it was perfect to share. superb yellowtail with jalapeño. General manager personally ensured we had a pleasant experience.

Yelp
We had our baby at Northside Hospital and the first meal my wife wanted after giving birth was sushi. This place hit the spot and the service was excellent.

Yelp
I came in for dinner at 5P and sat at the bar. The bar is nicely decorated with a TV and nice music playlist to accompany. The bartender/waitress, Kiley, was very polite even despite a misunderstanding with my order. I had the 'I love Sushi' roll, vegetable and shrimp tempura, and vegetable fried rice. The sushi was fresh and came out pretty quick. The vegetable and shrimp tempura was a tasty appetizer, it includes: tempura fried carrots, zucchini, and broccoli. The vegetable fried rice was yummy and was made with egg. The restaurant is nice for dine-in or sitting at the bar. Also, during my short time there, several people called-in orders for pick up as well.

Yelp
Service was good, restaurant is oddly decorated, kinda hard to categorize. I think they are trying to appear as though they are somehow related to fresh seafood. Went in on a weekday, very slow but service was awesome. Had the chicken noodles and the mixed seafood noodles minus the escolar (not eating escolar from a strip mall restaurant). The Seafood Dish was awful. Noodles chewy and stuck together, smelled and tasted of old fish. Seasoning really lacking. A $25 dish! The beef was such a weird spongy texture it was truly gross. Chicken bowl was edible, but nothing special at all. The super crunch roll was ok, not special, but I was a little hesitant to venture into their sashimi given the lack of business in the place. Good thing is they refunded the seafood dish without me asking because I barely touched it and said it was not good. That was professional and in alignment with their service level.

Yelp
Decided to try this spot specifically because they had real snow crab meat rolls, as opposed to the Kani/imitation crab meat that most restaurants offer. I called in and placed my order for pickup and had a fine experience, service wise. I ordered a shrimp tempura roll and a California 2.0 (real crab meat) roll. The shrimp tempura roll was decent, they gave a good amount of shrimp, there were two pieces in each roll, which is better than the typical one piece. The California 2.0 roll was kind of mehhh, the snow crab didn't taste like much and didn't seem super fresh. The to go containers look like the ones Kroger/other supermarkets give out and they added the really cheap and bad for you soy sauce packets - I threw those out and used my own at home. Since this place is near my home, I won't write them off just yet, but I'm not in a hurry to return.

Yelp
Just had dinner here with a group of girlfriends. The staff is super nice and accommodating, the decor is easy on the eyes, they have a great selection of food! We ordered a few appetizers to share like the tiger shrimps, ceviche, mixed tempura. The favorite was the tiger shrimp, very flavorful!!! The other dishes were a deluxe sized sashimi/nigiri samplers (the chef was generous!), seafood noodles, katsu noodles, a few rolls, and some other dishes I don't remember but portion was big and we killed it all! Give them a chance if you're in the Prado shopping center!

Yelp
So delicious! My treat after a long day of work! Food and Customer Service top notch!

Yelp
So I forgot the names to what I ordered but I know it's tuna, salmon , octopus. Very good ! I asked Duc the owner to try something different . Seared is the way to go . I loved it . It's a chilled relaxed spot , and if I didn't have to work I'd probably sippin on some flavored saki they have a great selection and my favorite is in the gold can . If you read this I hope you try it ! And if it's your first time, they are pretty good at finding something great . This is my first place to ever eat sushi and now I'm eating nigiri !

Yelp
I came here for lunch thanks to the Atlanta Dining Out Passbook. The restaurant was easy to find and in a plaza with other stores and restaurants. I started with my favorite drink, a moscow mule. The drink was very good and refreshing. I don't quite remember the names of the sushi rolls I ordered, however one contained smoked salmon and the other had eel. They both were beyond delicious. Even though there was only one server who was training another, service was okay. But considering the restaurant just opened and it was lunch time, you with expect more workers. Overall, I'd be back again.

Maricruz O.

Yelp
You can never go wrong with the Chicken fried rice! & for a pick me upper, the Miso soup is always a delight. Always a pleasure seeing our server Michelle!

Yelp
First time customer here. Came in on a lively Wednesday night where they hold live music. Got a bottle of wine for $16 with free entertainment. We had the chicken egg rolls, tiger shrimp, and marinated ribs. 5 stars for service, ambience, and $16 wine!!!! Had an amazing experience. Super recommended
google avatar

KK S.

Yelp
The food was good. The service was great and the ambiance was super cute. I've been here a few times. When the weather is nice, I like to sit outside. This last time, I was seated at the bar. So, I'd recommend this place for sure. I like to try a different sushi roll each time I go!
google avatar

Yelp
This place was great. Inexpensive and unassuming - and the food was tasty. Very family oriented and will be going back for sushi for sure. Also Hannah my waitress was like the only server there and could not have been more attentive - awesome server. Also easy parking. Def coming back. Also loved the fish tank lol

Yelp
Genki Noodles, in my opinion, needs a nice POWER WASH inside. The feel is so rugged and old. The lighting fixtures have collected dust. If it wasn't for the Dining PassBook, I probably would not have checked this place out. Sushi is okay. For us, nothing was a favorite, or mind blowing. The ramen stir fried noodles however, Delicious! The veggies they put in there were some of the best and cooked to perfection! Bravo! They have great options for kids. My kids enjoyed the shrimp tempura. I was disappointed that they only offer the kids cold noodles though. Would be nice to have some hot noodles as an option. And, as I'm writing my review I realized now that they didn't give us the ice cream that comes with the kids meal! Ew. I should take a star off! I won't, but you can use this as a tip: MAKE SURE YOU GET YOUR KID'S ice cream. Grr... Located in the Prado Shopping Mall. Big Stores nearby: Target, Lifetime Fitness Yelp Check In - 15% off Seating - Ample!

Yelp
Absolutely delish! I haven't been to this location, used to dine at the Virginia Highlands spot years ago. I like that the space is bigger and there's ample parking. We were greeted immediately and offered water and ordered our drinks. For starters, we got the chicken egg roll... YUM! I got the protein bowl with chicken katsu, so delicious. We'll be back!

Sindy P.

Yelp
A group of girlfriend and I came here for dinner and eventhough we made the mistake of not call ahead to reserve a table because there were 8 of us, the friendly staff at Genki were quick to accommodate us during peak dinner time! We order a diverse selection of food (tiger shrimp, mixed tempura, ceviche, sashimi platter, rolls, stir fry noodles, and so many more!) and they all came out in quick succession. We enjoyed it all! Definitely will come back whenever I'm in the Sandy Springs area!
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious ramen bowls and fabulous fried rice that is going to dance on the pallet. I thoroughly enjoyed the cocktail selection and they have a next exciting menu for you to try out. Wonderful lunch specials nice bath and it's always cool. The staff is always friendly and they always remember what I order. I recommend doing this garden salad with ginger dressing for a calm lunch or dinnergot a great vibe and I love the big aquarium near the seating. It provides a fabulous ambience.
google avatar

Yelp
atlanta used to have 2 other locations in virginia highlands and buckhead, so i was disappointed to find out that we had to drive all the way to prado for my genki fix - it was worth it though! the waiters were funny and looking to make convo! they were flexible and worked with the chef to figure out how to accomodate my dietary restrictions (gf & df). accidently left our credit card there and they held it for us until we could make it back.
google avatar

Yelp
Genki is an Asian fusion restaurant located in the Prado at Sandy Springs. They offer noodle dishes, sushi, and desserts. There is often a Groupon special available, so it's a great way to check it out. I really like the rainbow roll and super crunch roll. Always fresh and delicious and the restaurant itself is very clean and modern. Definitely try the fried oreos with ice cream for dessert.
google avatar

Arnesto S.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite all time places to eat in Atlanta. I have been going to the original place on Roswell road and now this location since they have been around. I want to say late 90's. New owners, new faces but the same quality cuisine.
google avatar

Shani H.

Yelp
I came in because I had about 30mins before my appointment at the nail shop next door and wanted a quick snack. I ordered a couple of small quick items. The shrimp sashimi and salmon nigiri. Both were good. I was skeptical of trying a new sushi spot before checking reviews but everything was fine. Its located in the prado so there's plenty of parking. I would come back if I was in the area and sit on the patio.
google avatar

nefia m.

Yelp
The food was horrific. I ended up leaving all of our food there! A complete waste. I ordered noodles for my kids and it had no sauce and was dry. The calamari was frozen and not at all tasty! The service was not good and the server was not friendly. Not ever going g back
google avatar

Anthony W. J.

Yelp
First time here. Very good lite lunch. I will return for the dinner menu. The server was very knowledgeable.
google avatar

Daryl O.

Yelp
Upon pulling into the Prado it is not really mentioned where Genki is on any of the signs I saw but it is a couple shops down from Marlow's Tavern. Stepped in here about 1pm & they weren't too busy so it was easy to get a table. I ordered the chicken egg rolls first. They were decently sized, although I did not taste the rolls without the sweet soy sauce that was included. The complemented each other very well. I decided to keep it light and order the crab & cucumber salad which turned out to be just a cucumber salad. What you see in the picture is all the crab meat that was placed on it. It wasn't terrible but I wish there was a bit more crab there. I didn't eat any of the rainbow roll but to my understanding it was good. They do offer lunch specials as well as a 15% discount when you check in with Yelp so that's a plus.
google avatar

Dej C.

Yelp
The sushi is fresh and tasty. Been multiple times always get the dynamite. Lunch Deal is decent

Mari O.

Yelp
Enjoyed thoroughly the ambiance, the refreshing light filled venue and was quite pleased with the abundant "cenkatsu" traditional bowl. The thin sliced beef was tender and the flavor excellent. The only minus is that there was very little green vegetables. Anxious to go again
google avatar

Misrak S.

Yelp
Quickly becoming a casual favorite. It's not an upscale restaurant but the food is great and at a reasonable price. We've had great service every time we've gone and it's never crowded. They've got some good weekly specials too it seems . The location is great. Across from a Korean restaurant, next to a Latin American restaurant and just a few more doors down from ice cream. It's perfect. The service is great. Pleasant and friendly. The list of sushi and other options is extensive. Parking is great
google avatar

Mikailah G.

Yelp
Love the food here! So many rolls to choose from! While it's not exactly a romantic atmosphere, it has been a fun date night spot! If you have kiddos, they have giant fish tanks that are neat to look at!
google avatar

Sharon C.

Yelp
This is the new location at Prado. I was still snowing outside so we were hoping they were not closed since I was craving some sush! (Yes, I totally just left the i off, I can't help it!) So we were the only customers until others started to roll in 20 minutes later. Now, I decided to give Genki another shot. There other location in Buckhead was osoroshi (horrible)! Old food and all. This location is nice and clean. We were sat asap in a booth. One thing that standed out to us and was quite annoying were the sushi chefs. They were very loud, obnoxious, flirting with our waitress and the hostess. They were egging them on but it was very loud and extremely unprofessional. They were speaking Spanish, and I get it, me or my hubs do not appear as if we understand Spanish, however, we speak multiple languages so we understood everything. Advice to management, your chefs shouldn't be running a Japaneses Sushi and Noodle bar with such disrespect to the culture or the food. Now, my sushi was good. I had the Himalayan roll and they use real crab which was great. My husband said his chicken noodle dish was the driest he ever had in his life. The ribs were good while hot and did fall off the bone. I want to really like this place I just hope they can work on their professionalism and food quality standards.
google avatar

Sophi L.

Yelp
Yummy, fast, and priced wonderfully, I'm always happy to order from Genki every time I fly into Atlanta. The Sashimi is thick and filling, and their classic shrimp tempura roll is delicious. Genki also is careful to listen to instructions when it ordered for delivery. Give them a chance, you may be surprised! :)

Megan S.

Yelp
The sushi was not good at all. I will never eat here again. Publix sushi is better and you get more. I had an eel roll and ordered squid nigiri but they just brought me a piece of rice with fried egg on it. I didn't recognize the egg so I began eating expecting squid to be inside .but I am mildly allergic to eggs so I had a stomach ache. I rarely get to eat out so it's so disappointing to waste such a rare event on bad food and pay for it too.
google avatar

David L.

Yelp
I've been eating here for years. I love the vibe. My favorite appetizers are the Kari Kari, dumplings, and the hamachi Kama. I love their bowls. I sometimes customize them depending on my mood. All of the servers there are super friendly. My favorite one is Duc. He goes above and beyond to satisfy the customer. Also he makes a mean margarita and Moscow mule! I would totally recommend this place for a date night or just with friends!
google avatar

Austin L.

Yelp
Genki's has affordable rolls that fill your belly! I think a lot people don't care for sushi, not just because of the raw fish quality, but because some people don't find it filling. Prices range from 9- 15 dollars and I think you get your money's worth. I've been to some places that give you 6-8 rolls, Genki's hooks you up with 10! They got various flavors and styles to choose from so you have plenty of options from eel to the classic California roll. I did enjoy the rolls we ordered and the gyoza. I just think they didn't look as appetizing as they tasted.
google avatar

Suvadip P.

Yelp
I have been eating at Genki for over 10 years. This is a great place to eat. The menu is one of the better sushi menus in the area and the quality of the food compared to the price is a bargain. The GM Duc is a great person and has always showed great service to me while I'm there. The staff is friendly, bathrooms are clean, and the environment and aesthetics is great for a family outing or a date. Highly recommend this place.
google avatar

Annie M.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place. It's a small hole in the wall but it's just not that great. The food is a little Chinese, a little Japanese, mostly Americanized. They had a Groupon running so I tried them out but I doubt I'll return. I went with a friend and the server was friendly, but service was slow. The Japanese food was limited, and we ordered egg rolls that came with wasabi mayo. That was decent... Flavor was strong, savory but kinda weird because it was like aioili with that nostril burning sensation. I ordered beef katsu and it was a tiny portion and ok... It didn't look like any katsu I've had previously. The desserts were ... Unexpected. Fried Oreos and wontons and ice cream. I felt like this place was confused in it's identity and although it's got noodles in the title, I didn't feel like that was their specialty. Oh yeah, they give you a small bowl of plain noodles to start ..maybe that's where the name comes from?
google avatar

Anna O.

Yelp
Great dinner/date night spot!! Food was great and so was the service. We ordered the Cheese Kari Kari and Edamame for starters, and then the Sushi assortment and chicken fried rice bowl for entrees. All came out so fresh and yummy!
google avatar

James P.

Yelp
The very best sushi in town. I rave about this place to all of my out of town family and friends. The noodles are so good and never under or over cooked. 2 thumbs up
google avatar

Russell A.

Yelp
Located in what's known as The Prado, makes it all fancy an all. For what it's worth the sushi is satisfying but if you're Taste palette for sushi only knows one level, like comparing it to chef Morimoto, then you will be disappointed. For the price and prompt, friendly service you can't go wrong here. A full bar is available to help wash away your blues or if you put too much wasabi in your soy sauce! Over read other reviews and yes, this is my go to spot if you're into Pokémon still. "4 pokestops in one spot! Whatttt??!!!!" Once again I'll let he pics speak for themselves.

Yelp
First off, don't make the same mistake I did....I typed Genki into my Waze (because Waze is life, right??) and it took me to their location in Buckhead (PSA: they haven't been in Buckhead for almost 4 years, apparently) SO....note to the masses: look their address up and type it into your GPS vs searching by name. Don't make the same mistake I did!! Because they're in the Prado, there is ample parking which is great. It's a small little spot with tables, a bar, plus a sushi bar. They have great week day specials and lots of rolls to choose from! They're in the 2020 Passbook, so we got 2 rolls (which is BOGO with the book). We got the Dynamite Roll (2.5/5, it's ok) and the Super Crunch Roll (4/5, it's very good!). I would recommend picking items from their specialty rolls menu, the red bolded ones are their super special rolls...go with those. Doug is the man, ask for him if you go. Super nice guy, great service! Oh--and if you buy a bottle of wine, if you don't finish it they will bag it up for you so you can take it home! WIN!
