Geno D's Pizza

Geno D's is one of the best places I've ever had pizza or pie(as Gena the owner calls it) at. She is a fantastic person that serves the freshest food that is made daily. I will definitely make this a regular spot to stop at if and when I'm around Charlotte area. Gena and her staff are some of the friendliest people. They always serve everyone with a smile. I highly recommend everyone to stop in and enjoy their great food.

The pizza here is amazing! Thin and crunchy. Came to visit for the weekend and this place was recommended. The place is inside a food court with very lively atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Located in ‘the Market in 7th Street,’ this little pizza joint delivers the biggest flavors that we really enjoyed. We picked up a few different pies, and all were great. That hot honey pizza though (mouth-watering).

This pizza is superbly delicious! Easily one of the best pizzas I’ve had in my life! We got the pepperoni pizza with jalapeños. When I’m back to Charlotte, Geno D’s pizza will be the first place I visit!

I met the daughter of the owner and she was super sweet and gave us a free grandmas pizza! This was my first visit and I was pleasantly surprised by not only the flavors and different options but the customer service. I ordered the calzone and the large cheese pizza and it was so good I had to stop arguing with my bf lol. They are family owned and have one of the best pizzas I’ve had thus far in Charlotte. Please go visit, you won’t be disappointed!!!!

Had to come back for the hot honey pepperoni pizza and made sure to get a large. This was amazing crust was cooked to perfection nice and crispy. Best thing. Also really enjoyed the #40 sandwich. Bread was great.

I recently had the opportunity to visit 7th Street Market and Geno's for the first time. I ordered the Super Special, opting to substitute ranch sauce for the marinara due to my tomato allergy. The pizza was prepared in a mere five minutes, and I found the crust and cheese to be exemplary. However, I considered the price of $18 for a 10-inch pizza to be somewhat steep, though I had no substantial complaints regarding the quality. Parking at the venue can be somewhat challenging. I utilized the 7th Street parking garage but had to navigate around the building to reach Geno's. The elevators located within the 7th Street Market appeared to direct me to the appropriate floor in the parking garage, yet I encountered difficulties accessing my vehicle. It is noteworthy that I was not alone in this experience, as a group of five others seemed to be facing similar challenges. *It is advisable to ensure that parking validation is obtained when you order your food.* The weather was pleasant, making the walk enjoyable, but the Market was quite crowded, which made finding seating a challenge.

We tried pizza here for the first time and OMG the best pizza we’ve ever had! We ordered a small white pizza and small hot honey pizza. The service was amazing, the staff was so friendly we can’t wait to come back again. I even met the owner, Gina, who said all the recipes were her dads and her friends all work with her. What a cool story. We will definitely be back to support this local, Woman owned business. Absolutely incredible!!! My toddler couldn’t get enough!!

This is hands down the best pizza in the Charlotte area. Stop wasting your time and come here!

Went to The Market on 7th Street in Charlotte yesterday for a mini-date with my husband. I immediately told my husband I wanted pizza from Geno D's because I've had it before, and it's so good. Just the smell made my mouth water. Hudson helped me with my order. He was efficient and very polite. He asked me if I'm from Puerto Rico and we had some small talk while I waited. (Or let's just say my old self kept talking to him. ) I had the pleasure of meeting Gina, the owner, and, man, she's as cool as can be. We chatted briefly about New Jersey since I'm a native Jersey girl myself. I think it's so awesome that it's family-owned and that they use such great ingredients. There's something about that sauce! When I tell you I love a good pizza, the sauce makes the pie. They have this down pat.. Gina was so cool to tell me that if we check into Geno D's on Yelp, you get free garlic knots. I was locked and loaded!! The garlic knots with the sauce OMG!! It is very busy, and they keep up well with the hustle and bustle of Charlotte customers' demands. It is a very busy eatery, so make sure you are prepared to be in an area with many people. I can't wait to come back because I know that you can't always find great pizza, but Geno D's is it!!!!! What do the kids say now? "This pizza slaps!" Go on and check them out; you won't regret it!!!

I ordered a small 10" Cheese pizza and the crust was just the perfect thickness for me. The sauce, toppings, & crust were delicious. I also ordered a Caesar salad and that was yummy too! Perfect dinner to satisfy my hunger. I'll be ordering again

The food is delicious! Next time you go to 7th street market be sure to stop her and get not only the pizza, but also the cinnamon knots, they are the best!!! Perfect addition to the calzone. Everything was cooked perfectly. The staff was so friendly and helpful checking on me and even bringing me the food when they realized I was full with a baby. So impressed with this place and the staff! There is plenty of seating area with large tables at the market that are constantly being cleaned.

Easily the best pizza in Charlotte, even Bird doesn't compete. The 1 star ratings are hilarious and obvioulsy coming from people who know nothing about pizza, Dominoes and Papa John's exists for these people. The only place I'll refer people to when they're in town or asking for suggestions. Much needed in a town of so many mediocre pizza joints.

The food here was so delicious, I'm happy I found this place. The pizza had the perfect amount of cheese to sauce ratio. The pepperoni was delicious. I like that you can get a 10 inch pizza instead of having to order a large. The garlic knots were easily the best I've had. They were the perfect texture - chewy and crunchy. The service was quick and pizza came out fast. I love how there's a ton of other restaurants there too so it's perfect if the people you're with want something different. They also validated parking which is nice!

My husband and son had lunch here while I ate from another spot in 7th street market. I did sample...I actually ate half...of the garlic knots...best I have ever had. They were stretchy doughy with crispy outside! They had pizza that my son loved. The pepperoni was crisp which is always a plus! Then my husband got me some cannoli. They were perfectly crisp shells with a delicious filling. All served quick and love eating at the community tables in the food hall.

This place deserves all the 5s it gets. Crunchy, chewy, crust with many delicious topping options. It's great fresh, great in delivery and I just hope one day they have a storefront which is easier to access. One of the best options in charlotte and I should know! - pizza lover

Pizza was very good. In Reid's old grocery store. Parking deck right beside Geno D's. Any establishment will validate your parking ticket.

I got to retry the Grandma's Pizza, which is a thin Sicilian-style pizza topped with fresh mozzarella, and it was outstanding. The ingredients come together perfectly, with a light, crunchy crust that's still moist on the inside. Their cheese pizza features a different red sauce, and it's equally excellent. You really can't go wrong with either of these menu items. Plus, they offer parking validation, so parking is hassle-free. It's definitely worth making the trip uptown to give this place a try.

Finally got the chance to try the infamous Geno D's pizza. Geno D's is located within the Market at 7th street. There are plenty of great food and drink spots to enjoy the night on a date or with friends. Upon arrival we were greeted and put our order in. I was informed that the grandma pizza only comes in one size. The pizza turned out to be enough for two. The pizza smelled and looked delicious. The pizza itself tasted good but it wasn't the best pizza I've ever had and wouldn't necessarily be my first go to. I do think it still had quality products and would please the average person. I'll certainly go back to try more food.

My daughter and I were across the street watching my son play pickup soccer and we both got hungry so we came to the market. As soon as we walked in the aroma of pizza was enticing so I followed the scent to Geno D's. My daughter and I were looking for a few slices so the 9x13 pie was the perfect choice, it was striped with red sauce, pesto and cheese which made each bite taste a bit different. And a good score was the 3 FREE garlic knots and red sauce with my Yelp checkin. This was the perfect amount of food and it was fantastic! The garlic knots were, go figure, garlicky and tasted great with the side of red sauce. And the pizza pie was crispy and tasty. I highly recommend Geno D's if you're near the blue line and 7th. 5 stars!

I certainly recommend to order Grandma Pizza. It's definitely a great one. The pizza is delicious and the crust is perfect. The service is excellent too. The atmosphere is nice and we had a happy meal here.

Amazing service and great pizza. They make you look like you are part of the family. The white pizza was AMAZING!!! Super delicious. The specialty pizza is really good. This is definitely our go-to pizza place going forward.

This place always makes the 7th Street Market smell incredible when walking by, so I decided to try it out. The sauce, cheese, and toppings on the super special pizza were pretty good. The crust was also at a great consistency, as it was crispy when you first bite into it but then you're met with a softer texture from the inside of the crust. However, the prices were a little expensive in my opinion (e.g. the selection of toppings are pretty standard but cost an extra $2 or 3 for adding just one regular topping like jalapeños or pickles). There isn't much of a service component to this place, since you just order at the counter and pick up when they call your name.

It is located in the 7th street market which is food ha with many other options as well as drinks. So it's a good spot if you're looking for casual and also if you want some variety. Went for the grandma, knots and also a cheese pizza and a Caesar. The pizza hit the spot - grandma was light and airy with a great taste. The regular cheese was great as well, with a good crust and cheese/sauce combo. The knots and sauce were fine, maybe should have gotten the pizza version as cheese maybe have helped as they didn't seem too garlicky. Caesar was fresh, typical. Prices were good and you order and the just sit in the food hall to eat. It was a perfect stop.

Great thin crust pizza with a zing string pull! The cheese and sauce was amazing and they lay the tops on! I was able to meet the owner and get the backstory of Geno D's! From the daughter who is the owner of this location the original one was in Jersey and now they have a little piece of heaven in Charlotte, North Carolina! 10/10 the location is located in the full hall with plenty of seats to eat and dine in or you can simply take it to go. If you do your check in you get a free goodie, so make sure you do that as well.

The attached picture speaks for itself. Delicious thin crust bar grandma pie at Geno Ds, located within the Market at 7th Street. The market has a great group of vendors available, including Resident Culture brewing, and beer is with pizza. Order at the register and they'll text you when your food is ready. Self seating, for all vendors to use, so you and your guests can definitely try a little food from everywhere.

Charlotte has become New Haven south! I have become a big fan of the pizza here. There are really solid options. Today I decided to try a local favorite for the first time based solely on the great Yelp reviews. Since I had some time on my hands after an early flight, I went to Geno D's for some takeout at lunch. Having never been to the 7th St. Market I did not realize what a cool place it was. Great options for appetizers, wine, cheese, etc.. Next time that will be a must. So on to my pizza ... the owner greeted me and informed me that she was preparing the best pizza I would ever have. I LOVE THE CONFIDENCE! We talked about pizza and the. I toured the marketplace. I ordered the pepperoni, peppadews and hot honey pie. When it was ready, the owner presented her creation proudly and described exactly how she made it. The pizza was a masterpiece! You eat with all your senses, and this pie checked all the boxes. I ordered a side of sauce because I wanted to dip my crust ... highly recommend that approach. The pie is described as NJ style ... I get it, the pie is not NY style, not New Haven, not Neopolitan. Kind of a mix of all three. Close to my perception of NJ style ... regardless, the pie is outstanding! The service is outstanding! The conversation was outstanding! Now was it the BEST I have ever had? It is in the conversation, that is for sure. But to the lucky people of Charlotte, while there are other options that I really enjoy (Sal's in particular), there are two exceptional options for pizza in the Queen City .... Geno D's and Bird! In the immortal words of RIC Flair .... Woooooooooo! Well done ... I will be back!

Grew up in Jersey and this place is LEGIT! Thin crust, chewy and slight crisp, tasty sauce and just the right amount of cheese. Family owned business; owners are Jersey natives. Really wish they would start selling by the slice tho! Always a must visit when we're in Uptown :)

Had read all the great reviews and hype regarding Geno Ds, so when I was in the area I put an order in.....I ordered the Veggie Pizza & the Super Special...and two canolis.... Got it to go and reheated for dinner ...Wow, this totally lived up to expectations....super fresh ingredients and the crust is what makes it so special, has a great crisp, but somehow still melts in your mouth The canolis were fantastic. The cream has a hint of orange that really makes it special. Pick-up/Parking: Don't be intimidated, free validation in the deck. Also, they are running a Wed special w Apple Pay....20 percent off, and don't forget to use the Yelp Check-in offer for some free knots.

Grandma's Pizza was perfectly named. It was well crafted and tasted like it was made with love! The employees were very polite and helpful with recommendation's. Any uptown restaurant that validates parking is already a winner in my eyes:) I'd recommend eating there it's the type of crisp pizza that is best to eat immediately.

I know it's all about the pizza but have to give props on this antipasto salad - it was amazing! Huge portion - even ate the carrot/cauliflower veggie mix on top and I hate carrots!!

Went to Geno D's on Friday with my daughters. We met the owner. She came out to talk with us. She is fantastic - very nice. She shared the story behind her family's restaurant. The cheese pizza we ordered was delicious! The sauce was incredible and the crust was perfectly thin. The taste reminded me of when I was a kid. The location is easy to find and there is parking at a nearby parking lot. The atmosphere is lively and the staff was friendly. If you haven't been. Please stop by.

A small pizza joint in a market in downtown Charlotte area. We ordered a hot honey pizza that was fantastic. Perfectly crisp, thin crust with a slight sweet sauce and balanced with a spicy honey drizzle and pepperoni. One of the best slices of pizza I've had. You walk up and order and they text when it's ready. We waited about 10 minutes. Well worth the wait.

Stellar! Part of the Market at 7th Food Hall, makes it a solid choice with options for others that might not be feeling one particular thing. I ended up ordering the grandma special which is actually a decent size for you to share with another person or eat it all yourself (like me). The square shape was nice with crust that had the (not exaggerating) perfect crunch. Overall great pizza. I do wish it was a little bit more saucy but makes sense since they didn't want to overpower the pesto. I would definitely come back and try some of their other pies like the classic pepperoni. Also service was great, my order was quickly taken and they text you when it's ready, so you can explore the rest of The Market while you're waiting. What a sweet treat! If you love dessert, you'll love their cinnamon knots. Also bonus perk, if you currently check in with Yelp, you can get a complimentary garlic knots or cinnamon knots. Soaking in a simple looking syrup, the cinnamon knots were a great way to end the meal. I'll definitely be back!

Heard all the rave reviews and decided to give Geno D's a try on this apparently Severe Rainy Weather Close All the Schools Day. Geno D's is one of the few vendors located in a market style eatery. You will need to park in the 6/7th Street parking garage and the vendors located in The Marketplace will validate your ticket once you make a purchase. This is a walk up and order venue with community area tables to eat in if you like. We were warmly greeted by the younger daughter of Geno. She offered some good recommendations and based on that we ordered two small pizzas, the Grandma and Hot Honey Pepperoni. Grandma is the perfect 9x13 style crust pizza buttery, light, and flavorful topped with the perfect amount of sauce, mozzarella, and pesto. *If you want to take the flavor profile up a notch, add a max of two more toppings like meat and veggies. (Maybe a chicken bacon spinach combo, yes I know that's three This was our first go at a Hot Honey Pepperoni style pizza. Different for our tastebuds but not bad. I think I would prefer more pepperonis to balance flavors a bit more. The crust is a hand tossed style for this one which had the perfect texture of thin, chewy, and crunchy. Happy I ventured outside of my norm to try Geno D's.

We first tried Geno D's at a Yelp Elite Event in 2022 and we were thrilled to return before a visit to Discovery Place. They have a variety of pies with an excellent balance of cheese, sauce, and toppings. As a guy who is quick to grab the oregano I was thrilled to taste a well-seasoned (but not overly seasoned) slice. Order at the counter at 7th Street Market and about 12 minutes later you'll be diving into your pie. Geno D's consistently appears on lists for best pizzas in Charlotte and it's easy to see why. If you're in Uptown head to 7th Street Market and order a great pizza at Geno D's.

Alright, now that you've tasted it too, you can read this review and view these pictures without experiencing mouthwatering pizza envy. I had high expectations for Geno D's based on all the hype they've received (both on Yelp and everywhere else!), and was still blown away by this experience. We ordered everything to share (garlic knots, the 16" hot honey pizza, and the famous Grandma Pie) - all were phenomenal. The knots were hot and the marinara sauce was fresh; the hot honey pizza was a perfect balance of spicy and sweet (loved the peppadew + pepperoni combo), and the Grandma Pie stole the show flavor/texture-wise. This is the kind of crust you usually can't find down here in the south - thick and chewy inside but very crisp on the bottom, with impeccable flavor. Fun being in the vibrant 7th Street Market setting also, and the service was fast and polite. We will DEFINITELY be coming back for more Geno D's soon!!!

This place has 5 stars for a reason.... It's seriously that good!! The variety of pizzas we ordered were OUTSTANDINGLY DELICIOUS! We ordered enough to take back home with us to Atlanta. Our order was taken by the owner and she was absolutely wonder! Very friendly and helpful in making suggestions. Yelp has a check in offer for this place which is a great added bonus-cinnamon knots delicious. I hope we can get a Geno D Pizza location in Atlanta. I'm from NY but NJ style pizza might have us best. Some of the best pizza I've had. The grandma's pizza is a true winner. The honey hot was top notch. You will be very please with whatever you order. Highly recommend this place.

Wife and I split a10" cheese pizza. It was plenty for the two of us. Very good pizza. Jersey pizza yall!

Two words: hot honey. It's my favorite pizza here, and I had an opportunity to taste the majority of pizzas on the menu at an event last year. I love the sweet and spicy combo, it's really good. I love that this is a family business, straight out of NJ! Gina and staff are really friendly and the service is great. They accept Apple Pay as do all of the businesses in the market, and when you order, give them a cell number so you can be notified when your order is ready. I highly recommend try the pizza or many other items on the menu, you won't regret it.

Grandma pizza was good. Service was good. Ambiance was nice. It's located inside of a marketplace with other restaurants. I definitely will be back.

I went to Geno D's after hearing about their Top 100 ranking for Yelp, and was not disappointed! We tried their popular Grandma pizza and the Super Special pizza. Both packed a bunch with flavor and I could not get enough! The staff was extremely friendly and I loved that it was a family-owned business, you could tell how much they cared about their craft and customers!! Their shop is located at the Market on 7th Street so there is a variety of food locations around them, and plenty of parking and seating inside. Again, congratulations on making Yelp's Top 100 Places to Eat Geno D's - I can't wait to come back!! :)

I have heard a lot about Geno Do's and my wife is a big pizza fan. We had a free afternoon and decided to check it out. For some reason I thought that it was it's own space but all good. The process was really easy, just order at the counter and they text you when your food is ready. I had the calzone and it was pretty good. Gold portion but my only complaint is I was limited to 2 toppings. I usually get 3 toppings when I order a calzone, so no worries. I would have paid an up charge if the option was available. My wife had the super special 10" pizza and she was very happy with her selection. Overall it was a good experience. When I am in the area I will keep it in mind to stop by and grab some goodness.

We went to Discover Science Center in uptown on a Sunday afternoon. Afterwards, we decided to take the kiddos on a little walk down to the Market at 7th Street for lunch. We saw there was a pizza place and thought let's all split a pie with the kids. That pizza place was Geno D's and spoiler alert... the pizza is amazing! We ordered a large half pepperoni and half cheese for three adults and three small children (5, 3 and 2). The kids all destroyed their slices! We had to give them some of our food, so we ordered another pizza for the adults. Round 2: we ordered the hot honey pepperoni and it was better than the normal pepperoni pizza, which was pretty amazing pizza. It is hard to mess up pizza but it is even harder to have outstanding pizza! This place won't disappoint. Oh and their focaccia sandwiches look stellar! We will be getting one of those next time.

I order from Geno D's often and it quickly became one of my top go to NJ/NY style pizza spots. The food. The service. The people. The hot honey pizza is amazing! My go to is just a 16" cheese pizza or pepperoni pizza. Don't forget to add a side of ranch or two because it's tasty as well. For sides, I enjoy their House Salad - the dressing has a great flavor and isn't overpowering. Pizza knots are also a yummy addition for your order! The staff is very friendly and the orders are made quickly. I usually place my order through the Slice app! The menu prices are the same (aside from a 95 cent app fee) and they give 100% of tips to the restaurant. You can earn rewards and sometimes they offer discounts. The parking for pickup isn't convenient, so you might at well hang out in the market and validate your parking. There are other great food and beverage merchants here, so you can grab a glass of wine or listen to live music (certain nights). Alternatively, I'd recommend driving with a friend and hopping out quickly! Bring back to GD bites with pepperoni. I love the pizza knots too but those things were epic.

I didn't realize this was going to be in a food hall. I've found a few gems in food halls over the year, but overall these sots of venues generally produce overpriced and unimpressive food in my experience. Not this time. I ordered the grandma pizza, and when I received a text message that it was ready, was greeted by quite a majestic sight. A thin crust, but not so thin that it didn't rise, crisped delightfully on the outside came with cheese, a tomato sauce that smacked my tastebuds, and a wildly contrasting pesto. I wondered if I should have got some toppings or a salad, but the pure pizza experience was a quality taste better than I would likely have found anywhere else in the region. Their more conventional circular pizza is probably good, but I can hardly imagine it being any better.

Great pizza promptly served by a welcoming family owned where the owner herself greets you. Try getting THAT from some generic national chain. Everything about this place serves as an antidote to the apathetic service and flaccid, bland stuff you get from the big brands. It's fresh, flavorful, piping hot , crisp where it should be and chewy and cheesy in proper balance. Instant fan.

Listen, Geno D's is one of Yelp's Top 100 for a reason. Their signature pies are awesome, from the Hot Honey to the Grandma special. I'm also mildly obsessed with the pizza knots. On today's visit, I finally ventured away from my usuals and tried a sandwich. The Meatball Parm pressed in thick fluffy focaccia with a side of marinara to dip it in had me literally doing a happy dance in my seat! To complete my carb fest, I enjoyed a side of cinnamon sugar dusted knots and rolled myself back home for a much needed nap! Go! You're welcome.

Went to Geno D's during the NCAA regional. They did an amazing job of taking orders and making pizzas very quickly. My pizza was very good. Definitely some of the best NJ style pizza in Charlotte. I highly recommend giving them a try.

I came into North Carolina for one day and decided to try the hot honey pizza. It's the pizza that had the best reviews. It didn't disappoint. It was a nice size for 1-2 people. I ordered a small. The pizza was flavorful!

Excellent pizza, normally not the biggest grandma slice guy but tied both their styles and preferred the grandma slice.

Located in the food hall this is the best pizza place I have had in Charlotte. I am not a crust eater but this place I eat it. Being from NY pizza is hard to find anywhere to top it but we really liked this one. Loved the chicken parm and the grandmas as well as garlic knots too.
