"If Nancy Meyers opened a Greek diner, it would look like George’s Place. The setting—tasteful whitewashed walls and exposed brick inside, plus a pergola-shaded outdoor patio strung with fairy lights—makes the classiest casual backdrop for a breakfast of tiramisu waffles or a perfectly fluffy Greek omelet. French toast is topped with bananas sautéed in brown butter and brown sugar, just the way a Meyers main character would do it. While there are several George’s locations in the area (all owned by the same restaurant group), this particular one is a local favorite—it’s open year round, and also serves lunch and dinner." - Regan Stephens

When we sat down I immediately ordered a coffee; it was served to me promptly and it was barely luke warm. I told our server if the coffee could be "heated up" at all. She lackadaisically told me they don't have a microwave on the premises. Kind of not the point, really. I hardly drank it and was charged $3.50 for it. The same server never came around and checked on us either. We had to keep calling out to them for attention. Not going back.

Very enjoyable experience. Arrived on reserved time and promptly seated. Server came soon after. Very pleasant and attentive. Food (Greek picnic for four) was a perfect combination of taste, variety and portions. Excellent evening. Thank you George's Place!

VERY pleased with our experience here. Loved the authentic gyro pita & full presentation of the meal the with side salad AND fries. The fries were very unique and delicious. Thin slices but not too crispy like a chip, but still a fry. Loved it here!

Excellent food and service in downtown Cape May! We stopped for lunch and had delicious meals of the falafel gyro and the chicken gyro. Both came with a lovely fresh salad and outstanding fries sliced thin. We will be back soon to try dinner here. Great Mediterranean option down the shore. A lot of good food for the money. Note it’s cash only so be prepared for that.

We came in and there was probably 5-7 tables open. They put us on a “20 minute wait” and said they would call us when our table was ready. We waited in our car for an hour and they never called. We walked back inside to check with them and they seated us??? All the tables around us had ordered and were getting breakfast but we missed the cut off by 10 minutes because of their failure to seat us for over an hour with open tables. Don’t waste ur time, go a minute down the road to the court house diner where the service and workers are much better. 0/10 experience

This is a local chain and I wouldn’t recommend the location on Ocean Street. I should’ve known walking in at 5 with no other people dining but I took a chance. I typically like Greek food but it was all very underwhelming. There was a special on a cheesy pesto bread which was far too rich with pesto, mozzarella, tzaziki and feta on a pita. The falafel appetizer was covered in roasted red peppers and very minimal with the actual falafel and of course served on a pita. The hummus appetizer was okay but pay attention: if they offer extra pitas with the hummus, know they’ll charge you! There is a lot of hummus and not enough pitas offered with the amount served so you’ll pay $20 for the appetizer alone. We ordered appetizers and desserts only and I spent $200 for 5 people. By the way, the $12 dessert was the worst baklava and tiramisu I’ve ever had. I’d definitely pass on this location and maybe the chain overall. When we were done, we picked up a pizza next door to take home. Others wrote about feeling scammed about this dining experience; I feel the same way. Would never go back or recommend.

Nice ambiance, the place is small so make a reservation. Excellent Mediterranean food. We had the lamb shank and the chicken Santorini and both are amazing. The potatoes are to die for!!! Make sure you stop by. Note that it's cash only.

George needs to take a trip to spice Island. The food was bland as can be and one of the dishes had something like herb in the name. One person ordered rye and we all got rye plus potatoes when they weren't ordered. Overall just ok. Looked decent, but didn't meet expectations.

Yelp
We've been to George's Place for breakfast but never for dinner. When I looked online, I was thrilled we could make reservations for dinner although they do require that you reserve with a credit card. After walking to George's, we were told that we were at the wrong location. Our reservation was for the George's near the Acme on Ocean Street. Apparently, customers frequently make this mistake. (The one on Beach Avenue is only open for breakfast and lunch.) When we made it to George's on Ocean Street, the ambiance was just okay although we loved the Greek-inspired menu. We ordered the Greek picnic for two which featured many delicious appetizers and was $20 per person. We ended up taking some of it home for lunch the next day. The chilled octopus salad, spanakopita, feta, hummus, and more were all wonderful. We also shared the Pikilia mixed grill which had a variety of meats such as lamb chops, pork ribeye, and chicken souvlaki. For two people, the small at $25 was perfect. Bring a good bottle of wine and enjoy! The food is priced well, well portioned, and authentically Greek. Please be aware, though, that this restaurant is cash only.

Yelp
What we got: Lemon Chicken Greek Salad Tiramisu Waffles Limoncello French Toast Gyro Pita Came to this location after seeing the one closer to the beach had a long wait. We waited only 15 minutes to be seated in this location. Service was okay but we enjoyed the food! We started with the limoncello french toast as an appetizer and it was light and refreshing! The gyro and the tiramisu was good as well. I didn't taste any lemon or anything citrusy in the lemon chicken Greek salad but the salad itself was good.

Yelp
Made reservations but not needed this early, Note! Cash only and BYOB. Spouse had the chicken and I got the fish, and a side of the lemon potato, Too much food. Every thing was good if not great. Service was attentive with out being obtrusive. We shall be having fried potatoes and chicken for breakfast.

Yelp
This is the second time we've come to this BYOB restaurant for dinner. The service was excellent!!! (5 stars) and the food was yummy. We especially enjoyed the hummus with fresh pita. For our entrees we had the Chicken Santorini and Chicken Souvlaki--which each come with a salad. We opted for the Greek salad. Both entrees were well prepared, but I would have appreciated a bit more seasoning on the souvlaki. The other thing to keep in mind is that this restaurant is cash only, which needs to be planned for.

Yelp
Food was okay ..We got the salmon scramble and pancakes. Both were a bit dry. Service was mediocre... It took a while to get the waitresses attention when needed

Yelp
Great ambiance and quick service! Food was very tasty and authentic. Awesome portions!

Yelp
My wife and I wanted a quick and healthy salad lunch. George's had a great salad. Quality greens and Mediterranean ingredients, we added the gyro meat and it was excellent. We took it out and they had a nice buy one get one deal going on for takeout. Don't love cash only but this was worth it.

Yelp
Amazing service and food. The French fries are homemade and delicious. Gyro was one of better ones I have had. Friendly and helpful staff.

Yelp
Hostess gives false info and the other hostess said she was a lier re making res for breakfast. Also, French Toast was only cooked on 1 side!
