7 Best Farmers Markets in Dallas | Eater

"Located in Plano’s burgeoning Arts District, Georgia’s combines the relaxed feel of a farmers market with a family-owned grocery store. Cameron Satterthwaite took ownership of the market from his grandparents in 2018 and has continued with their mission of providing homegrown produce, locally-made jams, salsas, and other artisanal products to the community. Satterthwaite’s customers continue to shop at Georgia’s for the personalized customer service and genuine hospitality — he’s been known to call customers when their favorite items come into stock. On any given visit shoppers might find peaches from Pittsburg, Texas’ Efurd Orchards, shelled black-eyed peas, tomatoes grown in nearby Jacksonville, and Pecos cantaloupe, an irresistibly sweet variety that’s grown increasingly rare. If you’re lucky, there may even be a fresh tamale vendor on-site." - Vox Creative

Google
My favorite farmers market. This is my third time patronizing. Everything looks super fresh. Love getting my cucumbers and celery from here. The customer service and excellent and I believe they get their produce from reliable farms.

Cassandra Paine

Google
Great selection of some fresh items you usually can’t find (like lady peas) and local produce! Worth a stop for sure.

Google
Such a cute shop. Love coming here. They have all kinds of stuff not just produce. Pizza dough and cheeses from local businesses. Super cool!

Google
Georgia’s Farmers Market is great! Placed in a great location, has some parking out front. Produce is fresh and beautiful! They have veggies, fruits, chips, jams, nuts, small fresh pies, milk eggs, and beautiful plants! The employees are there to answer questions, help when needed, and so polite!! It’s definitely my favorite place to get fresh produce & eggs!!! OH, and the spicy Cheezits are simply the best!!!!!!!

Google
Me and my wife stumbled unto this yesterday as we were just driving through Plano. Once we went in, we we're glad to be here. This farmers market makes full use of their space. The fruit is amazing and even if people who work there are very friendly and have good customer service. They convince me to take home a orange watermelon and a couple other things. Me and my wife were so excited to bring the items home and we've already planned another trip where we'll take our full family to come by some produce. If you're in the Plano area please stop by here.

Google
Went here today and purchased 2 watermelons @ $14.99 a piece! Cut into them & complete MUSH! Couldn’t salvage any of it. We were so disappointed because they were so expensive. Oh, & by the way, there’s a no return policy or exchange, if your purchase turns out to be rotten. Their response, “Oh well”. In response to your reply: that is not true! I never said I cannot pay $15 for a watermelon. I simply asked your associate if I purchased 2 melons if you would discount them. He referred me to you & you said, no. I asked you if the melons, were bad when I cut it open, could I bring it back & you said, no. I responded with; a grocery store would let me return it for an exchange & you said you would not. I did not continue to complain on check out, & your associate offered to carry the extra melon out to my car after I told him that my husband said he would come back for the second one. Once at my car, I DID NOT state to your employee, "We won't come back". Doesn't seem to me that you were willing to make this right.

Google
We came her on a Saturday morning. They were busy but we still had plenty of space to comfortably browse. There are plenty of options if fresh fruits and vegetables, but also a lot of canned goods, preserves, jams and jellies as well. I bought 3 navel oranges and a small basket of figs for just over seven dollars.

Cindy Freeman

Google
Just learned of Georgia's and my first visit did not disappoint. There's a large variety of fresh fruits and vegetables in addition to canned items, frozen items, and coffee beans. Most prices were reasonable.

Yelp
Inviting open garage market with fresh veggies and fruits, jars of jams and sauces, and a selection of frozen grounded beef and bags of vegetables. A few necessary groceries are on the shelf. This is a cute and clean place. Flowers are for sale outside. Check out the old truck. Can't miss it.

Yelp
Love all the jellies and pickled items. They have literally all types of pickled items. You name it, they got it! The vegetables are so pretty! This spot was hopping. Lots of moms with their kids in wagons out today. Love seeing this. The smells of fresh vegetables and fruit make an imprint on the kids memory. All the fruits and vegetables are organic and brought in from certified organic farmers. The cloves of garlic are beautiful! Beautiful purple hue to the outer skin. They keep for sometime if left to air out at room temperature. The onions are just as pretty too! The Vidalia onions are sweet and are great when added to any dish. The service at the counter is excellent. The ambiance is great. Adults should actually sit or lay in a wagon and see what view a kid gets! It might be refreshing. It's probably not real pretty, but always looking up and seeing your mom or dad is the best view ever! The memories are imprinted forever. You may pay a bit more for the products. It's minimal, you are supporting a local farmer and a community! The food always tastes better when it's "homegrown and locally sourced." July 2024

Yelp
My wife and I stopped in briefly to check out their coffee beans. We were delighted to see the wide variety of beans and as a bonus, there were many flavors available in decaffeinated. We purchased 3 flavors including coconut crème, chocolate raspberry crème and southern pecan in decaf. We absolutely love this place which offers so much more than you would expect from a farmer's market!! We will be back when we have more time to browse the entire store.
google avatar

Chad K.

Yelp
Go to spot for farm fresh eggs. Produce selection was excellent. Parking is a little limited but still decent.
google avatar

Jesika H.

Yelp
My absolute fav place to buy EGGS! They have the best eggs in town! I buy most of my groceries here every week and I have never had an issue! Also the lady that makes the baked pies YUMMMMM!
google avatar

Yelp
A lovely Farmers Market right on 15 av strip. Fresh fruits and vegetables can be seen everywhere. Very clean, smelling good and the market is organized well. Prices weren't bad at all, well except for the prices of the homemade soaps, those were a bit pricey. If ur in the area swing by
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped in as my wife and I have been trying Farmer Markets around the area. Ended up leaving with stuffed jalapeños (delicious). We brought home spicy pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, bananas and tomatoes. The pumpkin seeds are great and the sunflower seeds tasted great on my salad. Will definitely return for jams, honey and other goods.

Yelp
I wanted to get some fresh berries and had no time to go to The Dallas Farmer's Market. Of course , I utilized my friendly Yelp app to find one near . This one is situated basically in an old garage. I was a bit confused at first as right next to it is an actual garage . I parked in the area right in front of the business , but I knew I wouldn't be in there long . Park at your own risk . Anyway , there is an abundance of fresh goodies , like veggies , fruit , potatoes ,etc . They also have various jellies , jams ,queso, relish , candies ,etc . My grandma used to make everything from scratch so they have all of the old goodies I grew up with . I didn't see any sugar free jellies , which would have been nice . I left with green tomatoes , a bacon salsa (should be interesting ), blackberries , and strawberries . Great service. ! I'll be back !

Yelp
We loved our first visit (went based on daughter's recommendation). Good selection, prices in line with other farmer's markets in a MUCH nicer setting. On a HIT day, with the fan blowing inside it was very comfortable. As an added plus, they had fresh shelled Crowder Peas, a rarity anywhere, much less north Tx.. Another plus, the best honey roasted peanuts around!
google avatar

Rose B.

Yelp
It's a nice place , kept clean and organized, I had a great time looking at their options, and loved the candy and vegetables I got as well, staff was friendly and quick with service , the store looks adorable as well.
google avatar

Kelly O.

Yelp
They have a nice assortment of local veggies, fruits, nuts, salsas, etc. They also sell lots of different coffee beans. Their prices are a little higher than grocery store prices, but that is to be expected from a farmers market with all the delicious local goodies! The part I enjoyed most was the discount rack! They had a nice variety of discount veggies. All priced at only $1! I got a big bag of okra, green beans, and pearl onions for only $1! I love a good bargain. My bag of green beans had 2 grapes in it! Random, but I ate them anyway! When in the area, shop local! Farmers markets are always fun to check out.

Yelp
Great customer service! This is a hidden gem with lots of great products. I have been searching for seeded watermelon, which I found at this location. They also have a great selection of coffees. I highly recommend giving this place a try.

Rita T.

Yelp
There is not a piece of fruit or veggies in this place that's organic! I looked at everything and couldn't find a non gmo in the place.
google avatar

Grace W.

Yelp
We love coming here. The employees are friendly and we always find neat items. Our favorite is Gun Barrel Hot Sauce. It's a ver small establishment, but don't be fooled- they have a TON of produce and a variety of neat products.
google avatar

Barbara W.

Yelp
So they had Pecos cantaloupes, which I hadn't found yet this season. That made me happy before I even walked into the market. They had a nice variety of vegetables, and the East Texas tomatoes were beautiful. I got some eggplant and squash for ratatouille and some really nice looking (and tasty) peaches. This market is a great option to waiting for a farmers market on the weekends.
google avatar

Brigitte K.

Yelp
Cute family owned farmers market in downtown Plano with homegrown produce and local Texas jelly and salsa. They also have produce shipped from Tennessee and Florida and fresh florals right in front of the entrance.
google avatar

Nick J.

Yelp
I was not all that impressed with the variety at GFM. What they do have is of good quality, but it's also the most expensive farmer's market I've ever been to. Usually, in my experience, you get more homegrown produce for much less price than store-bought. GFM goes the opposite direction and charges much more based on the organic pride. There's a very cool selection of delectably innovative jams and sauces. They just all come with that high price tag like the produce. It's just that I know I can find the same quality produce and same creative concoctions elsewhere without spending a small fortune.
google avatar

J P.

Yelp
Great Farmer's Market right in the heart of downtown Plano. When it comes to fresh produce, they beat everybody in quality. This is the only place I buy tomatoes! Jacksonville TX variety - the best! Great friendly service as well in a classic building. Owner knows his stuff! Quality, convenience, good prices - what's not to like? Love this place!

Sharry B.

Yelp
I went there on a Saturday hoping to find local organic fruits and vegetables the places neat they do have good stuff but I got avocados and onions with the impression that they were local and organic when I got in my car to look all the way back at Dallas they were not they were from Mexico I looked up the label and they were not even organic avocados or onions I will not be returning back so if you go be careful
google avatar

Roni C.

Yelp
Love this place! Great place to find local farming products. Everyone is very friendly and I can always find what I need for my seasonal needs.
google avatar

Irysh M.

Yelp
We definitely need more Farmer's Markets in our world. Many farmers use organic/natural methods in farming, but they can't afford to pay for the Organic Certification (that's right you have to pay for that certification, even if you grow it naturally without harmful pesticides) . Numerous options here, for delicious and clean eating. A solid variety of vegetables, beans and coffee beans (they'll grind for you). Be sure to ask about the various ways they can ground coffee based on your taste preference... I posted some photos of the unique jellies, with natural ingredients.
google avatar

Jacqueline T.

Yelp
When the grocery store has slim pickings on good produce, come here! Or just come here anyways to do your produce haul, because they have EVERYTHING. All I needed was brussel sprouts so I thought it would be a good chance for me to go and see what all this place was about. I think I was the most surprised that they had little bottles of elderberry! I miss my local source of that back home, so to see that they had some here made me so happy! The set up is beautiful and filled with a ton of local goods. Snacks, candy, tiny little things of honey or even giant containers of it, lol....you name it. The vintage fruit and veggies and signage is amazing. I am excited to go again really soon to stock up on on a little bit of everything!

JS H.

Yelp
Fresh produce at a price you'd expect for hard to find local grown. Lots of trendy bottled salad dressings, pickles, and condiments. Like going to a Hill Country general store.
google avatar

Transparen C.

Yelp
I recently moved to Plano, and this is now the only place I will buy my produce! The employees are nice, and helpful. Compared to the big stores, the quality and selection is great.
google avatar

Sandeep G.

Yelp
This has bee our go to place for good quality produce. They have an excellent selection of Honey and fresh produce. The store is spacious and the service is excellent
google avatar

Kaitlin C.

Yelp
This is the cutest place with great produce! The person who checked my things out was great, they have a good selection also. The building also has a cute mural on the side for pictures!

Yelp
Pluses: Conveniently located in downtown Plano. EXCELLENT customer service. Cute little market Never too crowded Lots of parking Negatives: Several of the items are significantly over-priced

Marie T.

Yelp
I've been here a few times to check out the fresh produce, in which they have a great variety of fruits and veggies, with good prices as well. They also have other items like jams, preserves, seasonings, trail mix, snacks, jerky, candles, and more. They also sell vegetable plants and house plants. The store definitely has a great and spacious atmosphere that makes it really feel like a farmer's market. What is making me give them 5 stars is their hand held pies, HAHA. While we often eat our vegetables, we really enjoy the hand held pies and find them to be probably the best we've had around here. They're surprisingly really good. So far, we've tried the apple, pineapple, blueberry and peach. All of them have been great, but blueberry is my favorite because it has a great balance of sweet and tart, and the crust is just too good too. Also the staff are pretty friendly. Whenever we stop by with our dog, the staff let us know he can shop inside with us. I really appreciated that because we like to explore together (and not have to take turns with one person inside and the other outside). Overall, this is a great place for produce and other items, like their PIES! Also there is some great wall art on the side of the building. Enjoy!
google avatar

Leelé G.

Yelp
Very cute and I love the fresh produces and fruits they had there. I bought a couple of them and went straight home to cook up some dishes and they turned out very delicious. Will come back for more.
google avatar

Contessa C.

Yelp
This is definitely worth the visit. A perfect precious farm fresh market with a variety of so much! Om the weekends you can even grab fresh tamales! The fried pies baked local, the wall of delicious jams, and spreads & of course the wonderful veggies & fruits. Friendly family owned service with a smile. Do you a favor & go check it out!
google avatar

Kitrina J.

Yelp
I really enjoy going to this small easy going farmers market. The selection of fresh produce from local farmers in the area makes me feel good about supporting local farmers. They also have some really nice seasonal garden plants. Plus the owner is knowledgeable about the produce and where it comes from and who sells it . I even asked about a local farm. The owner was able to give me about the farm owner , how long he had been dealing with the farmer, and that it was a farm that had been passed down in the family so the constancy of produce was the same. I really enjoy visiting this farmers market and supporting a local business!
google avatar

Grant W.

Yelp
Let me start by saying, I worked here for a little over a year & a half. Cameron (store owner) is a great guy who isqq trustworthy. You know what to expect when buying, which is very rare nowadays. We ALWAYS help people with their purchases to their vehicle if they want it. At Georgia's you will be treated with above & beyond kindness.

Pretty V.

Yelp
Loved this little spot while stopping through Plano. We got both SC and TX peaches, yummy grape tomatoes, muscadines, a delicious apricot hand pie - tasted super fresh, & amazing local sourdough. Would definitely frequent this spot if we lived nearby. Highly recommend, and while you're there, make time for the Interurban Railway Museum across the street.
google avatar

Sonya P.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped by here last weekend and loved it. They have a great variety of fruits and vegetables, plus many other things. I bought fresh purple hull peas and pinto beans, lots of veggies, and fresh strawberries. We will definitely be going back.
google avatar

Charlotte J.

Yelp
This is a sweet little place! It's really more of an open-air grocery store than a true farmer's market (I'm fairly certain only one vendor sells here, and they have canned goods and packaged products as well as fresh produce) but it's a worthwhile place to visit when in downtown Plano. We wandered over here on a Saturday afternoon, after enjoying a tour of the Interurban Railway Museum across the street. We had fun perusing the produce (which all looked great!) as well as reading about the importance of bee pollen; they have lots of information, as well as a large display of honey and pollen available for purchase. We ended up purchasing two small clementine oranges for a snack, plus a bag of sundried tomatoes to add to our dinner that evening. We got all of that for around $5, so it's definitely a reasonably priced place. A great option for groceries in downtown Plano!
google avatar

Bella C.

Yelp
I only leave a review when I feel it's of upmost importance to share. I have to share that I tried the peach pie pocket in the car and now I'm planning when I'm going back. What an incredible pastry. I am speechless. Also they have a wonderful pumpkin selection. Can't wait to try the produce I bought!
google avatar

Nina G.

Yelp
I just found this gem over the weekend and could not be happier. I grew up always being close to farmers markets and stores like this, I am so happy to have found this store here in TX.
google avatar

Andrew ß.

Yelp
In downtown Plano area.. Looking for Farmers Market fresh and can't wait tell the Saturday farmers market.. Go to Georgia's Right across from the Dart station

Stephanie B.

Yelp
This place is a delight to visit and shop in. I'm officially a regular customer. The hours are perfect and prices are affordable with quality produce.

T L.

Yelp
I finally found a Farmers Market on the north side of the city that doesn't involve a drive downtown, and who carries almost everything I need. Citrus fruit is in season, so I originally sent them a note on FB messenger, which was replied to quickly giving me a list of everything they had in stock. The people who work there are knowledgeable about what makes the best juice, and which items are best. It's smaller than the downtown market, but they carry everything I need! 5 stars plus.

Linda P.

Yelp
I love this place! SHOP LOCAL is more important now than ever! First, the owner Cameron really cares about his customers, his local vendors and all suppliers and almost everything is local or regional! Second, the variety continues to get better and better so you can still get all your produce, beautiful local plants and flowers (and wood!) but also candy, gifts, and amazing jars of spreads, dressings and condiments but everything for an entire meal, including meat, cheese and dessert! Please go a little out of your way next time you need something from the grocery store and go here instead. It's right on 15th street in old Downtown Plano.
google avatar

Reena G.

Yelp
We were just cruising around downtown Plano and ran into this farmers market. They had a variety of items including seasoning mixes. We walked out with some fresh okra, cucumbers, huge sweet potatoes, salsa, and other veggies for a decent price. Definitely will be back when we're in the area.
google avatar

Linda B.

Yelp
This is the best place I know for tomatoes in the North Texas area; they also have Vidalia onions earlier than anyone. Such a long history has this place; Georgia used to have her place in the Fairview Farms stands; then her family moved the place to this site. It's easily accessible, and you can find just about anything here (except meat). Slide in, browse the old timey jarred goods, the incredibly tasty fresh veggies and fruits, and munch some peanuts in the shell while you suck down a real orange or grape Crush. Good nostalgic stuff. You'll be back again and again. Don't say I didn't warn ya.

Yelp
I have always been pleased with this little Farmer's Market, the prices are a little higher than some others, they are not certified organic, but it is a cute little shop and in the past have enjoyed bringing my children to pick up fresh fruits and local honey. It is small enough that my three year old doesn't get bored walking through the store and my ten year old loves shopping for fresh fruit. That is until last Saturday. The kids had picked out some grapes and then changed their mind to strawberries. So while they were filling a bag with peanuts, I went to put the grapes back (this was two tables away). Apparently, the minute my back was turned the three year old started squishing a nearby tomato. An older man, who I can only assume was the owner, began YELLING at me that my son had ruined this tomato and he would NEVER be able to sell it now. When I responded that I was very sorry and would be happy to pay for any items that my son had damaged, the man turned his back on me and actually stomped off! I am not naïve and realize that anytime I take my toddler into a store that there is a chance he may damage something. I try to teach him not to touch items until I give the item to him, and am always more than willing to pay for something that he damages. If this man had simply brought the damage to my attention, I would have had no issues and would have responded the exact same way in offering to pay for it. I can choose where I shop and if I receive rude treatment at a store, I will choose not to shop there anymore.

Tehya M.

Yelp
I'm so grateful to live and work right next to this farmers market!! Cameron the owner is super helpful and friendly and they also have a great selection of fruit, veggies, eggs and snacks. I'll keep comin back

Yelp
The hubby and I stumbled upon this place on accident after checking out historic downtown Plano ( I didn't even know there was a historic downtown Plano- very cute!). There were tons of blooming annuals in all colors out in front of the store. You walk in, and it is small, but full of CHEAP fruits and veggies displayed. YAHOOO!!!! I love cheap and fresh fruits and veggies. We came out with yummy cherry tomatoes, fresh blackberries, squash, and broccoli. I asked the owner if they were organic, which they are not (really). Most comes from local farms, and the rest is brought in fresh, so it never sits around and gets old like in grocery stores. They also had homemade chips and salsa, as well as other local specialty items. If you are in the area, please go have lunch in downtown Plano and then walk over and check out Georgia's. You wont be sorry! I also purchased some nice jewelry from a cute little shop down nearby. Fun day!

Karen P.

Yelp
Do not feel safe shopping here during Covid. The owner and his employees do not wear face masks or keep six feet away from customers. Do not appreciate the risk they are placing on their customers. I will no longer shop there until I see a change in policy. Also, customers are not required to wear face masks & did not keep six feet apart either.
google avatar

Natalie S.

Yelp
This place is great. The man helping me was so nice, helped me take the bags to the car and asked me if I was doing okay multiple times! The vegetables and fruit tasted amazing. I won't even shop at grocery stores anymore! You can definitely taste the difference eating fresh fruit and veggies. The jalapeño cheese curds are too die for!!!
google avatar

Heather L.

Yelp
We frequent this place. It has a great selection of fresh produce as well as canned items and things like honey, jams, etc. They also sell loose-leaf tea, fresh roasted (or unroasted) peanuts, and the kind of Dr. Pepper that uses real sugar. In the spring, they have a huge selection of hanging plants and blooming annuals in front of the store. Everything is comparably priced to what your local grocery store would charge. Plus, we love the owners and you just can't beat the fresh taste from farm fresh produce.
