Austin Pastry Chef Yolanda Diaz Competes in ‘Best Baker in America’ | Eater Austin

"The executive pastry chef, Yolanda Diaz, will appear on the Food Network competition Best Baker in America alongside eight other contenders in an episode themed around Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s baby; the skills round requires small princess cakes, and the master challenge asks bakers to create an elderflower-and-lemon celebration cake to serve 100 people, with a $25,000 grand prize and the episode airing Monday, May 13 at 8 p.m. The Rainey Street hotel restaurant itself features a seasonal menu, craft cocktails, local brews, and live music seven nights a week." - Nadia Chaudhury

It wasn't bad and the stage looked great to perform on. Beers were beach prices $5 which is a little too much but I had a good time meeting the guitarist from Hed PE and singers of Dropout kings with Vortex! I'd give it a 4 if I could perform my hip hop set so idk

Wednesday night karaoke with D.J. JESTER is ALWAYS the best. The sound system is off the chain. The prizes are amazing. The food and drinks very reasonable.

Every other Monday there is an open mic here, by Speak and eat. My hubs and I... if you've seen any my other reviews. you know we love MUSIC and arts. If you haven't been come on out. You may even see me or hubs on stage. Great food, (we finally ordered something,) Great drinks. Friendly staff, and a great vibe. ALWAYS awesome artist of all genres.

Lots of free parking, good sound and lights. Great venue to see a local band!

I'm really hoping the new owners do a better job handling management and also customers with racial slurs and how they treat some women. I like going to this bar but I am thinking of holding back from going again until everyone has the rights we all deserve! Hearing this with everything going on in the world, with the wars and all the racism . We need places where we can be safe from ignorance. Our planet needs help, and this bar does too!!!!

Would have given a higher number but the show didn't start on time. Waited for ever for the band to even play just one song. With that said the staff was super awesome. I would recommend going here. It's pretty chill.
