"Gezzo’s Coastal Cantina has an eclectic menu of Latin-inspired dishes with coastal accents – think a surf ‘n’ turf burrito with grilled steak and gulf shrimp, or salmon tartare with mango and pineapple. Gezzo's Coastal Cantina - Review - Upper Westside - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"It’s early yet, but Gezzo’s is off to a rough start at Westside Village. Maybe it’s our fault expecting the owners of this new coastal Mexican cantina to deliver the same fun, light dining experience here as its relocated predecessor, Juniper Café. Don’t get us wrong, the bright, wicker-chaired dining room and plant-filled covered patio are ideal spaces for small group gatherings, but the food doesn’t quite match the mood. Whether we’re talking about the server dropping off so-so queso, bland Spanish rice, or a cheesy chicken burrito that needs a machete to cut, the dishes feel rushed. A spirited cocktail menu brings hope, but not even a superb strawberry margarita can keep you from wondering if all the joy left once Juniper closed." - DeMarco Williams

What an amazing dinner experience! To start, The chef came to check on us while waiting for just short time to make sure we were comfortable and get some cocktails going for us. As far as dinner, the food and drinks amazingly delicious and had beautiful presentations, only to be topped with the best ever service! Our server Tine was awesome, so friendly, and super knowledgeable about the menu and preparations for everything! We ordered pretty much what all she suggested lol! Again, amazing place and we can't wait to go back. Thank you again Tine and Chef for such a great Friday night!

Google
I can't recommend this restaurant enough! From the moment we stepped in, the ambiance and the warm welcome set the stage for an amazing evening. Natasha and Jamail, the bartenders, crafted some of the best drinks I've ever had, perfectly complementing the farm-to-table Mexican cuisine. The food here is absolutely fantastic—each dish bursting with fresh, authentic flavors that you can tell come straight from the farm. Our server, Tine, was exceptional—attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly, making our dining experience even more special. It's rare to find a place that excels in every aspect, from food to service, but this restaurant truly does. I can't wait to come back!

Google
I love the freshness of the food here. It gave me more of a Tex-Mex type of vibe, and I had a great experience. The service was very accommodating to the fact that I don’t eat pork. The braised lamb and jerk chicken tacos were super tasty. Also never thought I’d want a plantain salad, but it was so good! Plenty of parking available. Cute decor. Will be back!

Google
Wow, what an unexpectedly exceptional dinning experience. From the expertly crafted cocktails to the large portion, well seasoned food, Gezzo's blew us away. Ambiance is upbeat and casual. Service was unbelievable. We were given free cornbread. The managers came and checked on us several times. Again, an exceptional experience.

Google
First time coming. Excellent Waiter and Bartendar. Ms Natasha was the best! So patient and attentive! Great guacamole, wonderful food selection, beautiful restaurant and atmosphere!!! Love the feel. Wonderful music! Made me feel like I was on a mini vacation on a beautiful Sunday date with my son!!! I’ll be back!

Google
Great Mexican Restaurant! We had a big party and the service was great. The setting is clean and fresh and reminds me of Tulum. The food was tasty and the drinks were well made. One of the best places in the area.

Google
1st not a huge fan of "Mexican" restaurants. Now that I got that out of the way...I was very impressed with the decor. The place was very inviting and the hostess added to that being so friendly. Go for Happy Hour....they had some great prices for food and drink. Chips and salsa were good nothing spectacular, but not bad. The food we ordered was outstanding. I got the Jerk Chicken and it was SPICY like it should be....maybe even too much but tasted more authentic like what you would get in Jamaica. Overall I will go back to take advantage of the Happy Hour and sample more of their food.

Google
I love this restaurant! I visit every Sunday after church with my friends and family. Excellent customer service and beautiful ambiance, I always feel like I’m on a Caribbean island. The island bonfire is my favorite drink, the curry shrimp taco and chipotle chicken taco is so delicious, the fried jerk chicken canasta is also bomb, and the plantain salad is a must have!

Yelp
Food: Was great Service: Was awesome Ambiance: Well thinking back sadly it was rather empty. I think they needed PR to advertise this place. Sorry Gezzo's :- (

Yelp
10/10 Jamael was our bartender and he was nothing short of amazing. He makes the best spicy margaritas without it being too sweet and offered great recommendations for tacos. The guac and chips were awesome and the chips were very fresh. The tacos were amazing and bursts with flavor. This spot is pretty big and the bar is a little small but it did the job for me and my gal pal for Saturday lunch. They also have an outdoors which is neat. I'll be back!

Yelp
This was my first time at Gezzo's, but it certainly will not be the last. I thoroughly enjoyed the vibe in this restaurant. There's plenty of seating, a spacious bar, and really swanky outdoor seating on both sides. My bartender was nothing short of amazing, and my drinks and appetizers were delicious. The Lamb Chorizo Wonton Taco was by far the highlight of the experience. The crunch, the explain of flavors. It is a guaranteed hit. Thinking about it makes me want to have another one. The empanada was a close second: super savory and filling. The guac was nice and fatty and delicious as well, and the chips were nice and salty and fresh, the protect compliment. I drank the Kimono, which was nice and stiff, but it was quickly overshadowed by the "Don't be a Stranger." 2 of those and you might need an Uber home. All in all, a great first impression.

Yelp
This restaurant exceeded my expectations. I loved the ambiance. Patio dining available. For drinks we had Frosé and hibiscus mai tai. Food we had lamb chorizo wonton tacos, surf n turf burrito and fajitas Alambres. Everything was great! Free parking lot. Happy hour Wednesday- Friday 4-6pm

Yelp
Fabulous find! Our server was a star, the queso rocked, the salsa and chips spot on, and a fabulous house margarita. It certainly is on my must return list. My fellow Yelpers swayed me to the shrimp coconut curry bowl. While not your typical cantina fare, it was a great fusion dish.

Yelp
Gezzo's is one of the west sides best kept secrets. They have an amazing happy hour and outdoor area. On this day I came alone & hungry. I ordered the Pescado Asado & cantina margarita on the rocks. Pescado Asado: Wow this dish blew me away. The fish was so flavorful & rich the sauce was the perfect compliment. The bites of veggies throughout, chefs kiss! I will warn you may have to ask for the salt & pepper here :/ but don't let that stop you. I did a lil dash of salt + added some of their homemade hot sauce = BAM! 10/10 Cantina Margarita: The first time I came here the drinks were SLAMMING this visit the drinks were merely lightly tapping . I wish the drinks were consistent so I could give a high review . I ordered one round and said ? I literally had to ask the waiter during the next round for it to not taste like the first. Even then the drink didn't match my original experience. Probably a different bartender. 4/10

Yelp
More like 3.5 stars First visit 8/16: I sat on the patio. Pharaoh was my server. Service was attentive, I loved the bright lighting and the food was amaaaaazing. The blue corn muffin portion was insane I lowkey shouldn't have ordered it for just one person I got the taco plate with 2 of the fish tempura tacos. The flavor was awesome and I was mentally planning my next visit already. Second visit 9/13: Excited for the same food I got last time I happily sat at the bar, got free chips and salsa and placed my order. This time I did the taco plate with one fish tempura taco and one cochinita pibil taco. The food took a while to come out and seemed lukewarm. While my tempura taco was as good as remembered the pibil was just ok. My rice was darker than last time and the rice and beans lacked the flavor it had before. The fish tempura taco still has my heart so I'll stick to that in the future.

Yelp
I discovered this place via a Living S0cial deal. It was near my workplace, so I figured I'd give it a go. Now I can't stop. Date nights with my wife. Daddy/daughter dates. Or just a change of pace from leftovers for lunch since it's not far away. Always amazing flavor pops and colors. Food is fresh. Nine times out of 10 the service is amazing. Connor was solid tonight. We've had the guy that looks like Neil Brown Jr. a few times as well. Always friendly. The Tempura fish tacos are amazing. It's my wife's go-to. I bounce between that and the rice bowl. The portion sizes are nice and I feel like I'm eating (believe it or not) somewhat healthy Mexican food. It's our go-to joint when I have to scratch the Mexican itch.

Yelp
The place is definitely on the must return to list. We went for a quick dinner at happy hour, and it was totally worth it. The inside is on the smaller side, but they have a great size covered patio to make up for it. We order the chips and guac and it came with salsa. The guac was little on the salty side for me, but still good. Queso was pretty decent, felt like it could have been a bit warmer. For our meal, we opted for the Salmon Tostada, Lamb Chorizo Taco, and the Tater Toks. All was super tasty. Great addition to this part of town!

Yelp
First off, I have to say I love the interior and the decorations of this restaurant. My friend and I came here on a Friday night to catch up and try this new Latin/West coast fusion restaurant that turned out really good! The presentation for each plate was spot on and so beautifully plated. Natasha was our server and she was super helpful and attentive. Always checking up on us and made sure we had everything we need. Cam who is part owner of this restaurant also came to greet us and tell us more about his restaurant and the story behind it which feel really intimate and personal. I loved that. As far as the food, it was delicious! While waiting for our food, our server brought us complimentary chips and salsa. My favorite was the squash salad. It was light, refreshing, and so flavorful. I also loved the Jerk Chicken. It was huge and a great mix of flavor. Everything was good and we had plenty of food left over for the next day. We messed up by eating too much chips and salsa because the salsa was so good so we had plenty of food left. For parking, there is plenty of free parking. We parked at the wrong side so it took us a while trying to find it. This is honestly a nice spot for a date night too. Will be bringing other friends here again next time.

Yelp
Obsessed with this fun spot in Atlanta's Westside. All the employees were so welcoming, and really ensured we were educated on the menu. They gave us insight into what to try. Everything was so insane and delicious! This restaurant seems to have fun events frequently as well. They have a tequila pairing event and a Friendsgiving coming up soon. Definitely check this place out. I love the area it is located in as well.

Yelp
First time visit to Gezzos for lunch this week. My first impression upon entering the restaurant is that the decor is suppppeeeerrr cute, but a small space. What I liked? A twist on the typical food that you eat at the standard Americanized Mexican restaurant. For example they offer fried grasshopper.....even though I was not adventurous enough to order it I was surprised and impressed that they offered it on the menu. Also having the option to order lamb on nachos is unique. What I didn't like? Too many tomatoes in the guacamole killed it, MSG in the salsa used to enhance the flavor while not thinking about health and the price. Half of an avocado with tons of tomatoes, cost me $8. Total price for lunch for 3 people $72+. Service was good, flavor of the plates were good and I love the swings on the outside patio. Yelp
I got a chance to check out Gezzo for a weekday dinner. On Tuesday they have $4 tacos which is great! Our waitress was really great and gave us recommendations on drinks and food items. I ordered the house margarita (not pictured) and it was a good drink. For my meal I did the taco plate which consisted of a chicken and lamb taco with rice and beans. Everything was really good and flavorful! I really liked the ambiance of the restaurant. I feel like this is a hidden gem on the Westside which is cool. I will definitely come back to try additional items.

Yelp
A five star lunch after church! Very cool atmosphere, beautiful art on the patio wall, thriving natural plants and great service. This resturant has brought the best of many cultures under one roof in an unexpected fusion(Asian, Caribbean, Latin) I had the curry coconut bowl which was delightful- the various flavors played well with a frozen peach paloma. Their margaritas are the best, I suggest "Road to Cali" - lovely and balanced.
google avatar

B F.

Yelp
I would highly recommend this gem! Everything is fresh and locally sourced! The guacamole, salsa, drinks...Everything uber fresh! Loved the lamb empanadas and the lamb wonton taco! CJ the bartender is the best and has great service! The ambiance reminds me of a cantina in Cali, so bright and welcoming. Check them out happy hour Wed-Sat from 4 to 6 and after dark from 8 to close!

Yelp
This was such a delightful Mexican restaurant and cocktail bar. The ambiance was very welcoming and decorated beautifully.. definitely gives beachy vibes. Our server was very pleasant and professional. The food was really tasty, especially the salmon tacos with black beans and rice. If I see plantains on the menu, I'm most definitely getting those, and let me tell you these were cooked to perfection extra crispy coated with brown sugar on top, just plain mouthwatering. The cocktails were mixed well, so there were no complaints there. Moving on to the dessert, the highlight for most of my dining out experiences. Their take on the bread pudding was different, but in a good way, I've never had bread pudding dipped in chocolate with brown sugar sprinkles. It was more like a piece of cake, in my opinion, but still delicious, nonetheless. I would highly recommend giving them a try if you're looking for a unique spin on Latin American dishes.

Yelp
New resto. They had their grand opening on Cinco de Mayo but missed it. I just had drinks today. Bartender is very nice. This spot replaced Juniper Cafe so you know they have an indoor dining room and a huge outdoor covered patio. We needed a Mexican resto in the area! Great addition. Will he back to try the food.

Yelp
Not sure how to score this so I'll give the details I have the shrimp taco and tempura taco. They were both good with nice flavor. The shrimp was grilled with no flavoring so it had a Smokey taste to it. Could have been better. 4 They have free chips and salsa. Very good. 4.5 My friend had the nachos. There were no beans on the nachos. We asked about it and we're told they should have had a layer of beans, almost like layers in lasagna. We did ask for extra beans and that helped. 2.5 When I got home I realized I was charged for those beans. I should have checked the bill but that's not right. 1 And I didn't check the bill because the service was so slow. They had a event in the enclosed room and didn't have enough stuff to take care of us. The one waitress they had totally ignored us. We can give her the benefit of doubt she was overwhelmed. 1 But the bartender saw we were ignored and came and waited our table. She was so kind and polite and thoughtful. Kudos to her!!! And the drinks she names are art beautiful!!! 5 The food was good enough and I will be back. If the service is as bad that will be the last time.

Yelp
Everything is amazing great food service clean and fresh ingredients I would definitely recommend this place

Yelp
I liked the food, service, and restaurant overall. Let's start with the pros: the decor was beautiful, the staff was friendly, and the food was good. I enjoyed the tempura the most due to its flavorful and texture taste. The cons: The service was a bit slow and maybe a less experienced staff, I stood at the bar for a drink but couldn't seem to get the attention of the bar tender in a reasonable amount of time, and the food was good but pricey for its quality. Overall, I would go back but this isn't a place I'd go out of my way for.
google avatar

Patti S.

Yelp
Writing this review as I'm sitting at the bar because I'm enjoying my experience that much. We are headed to a Braves game and don't have time to eat, but the frozen white peach margarita and complimentary chips and salsa have me fully committed to trying a meal here. It's farm to table and you can tell from fresh herbs in the drinks. All the staff is really wonderful and welcoming and I can't wait to come back and try the real food! So far, 100% recommend for drinks and I anticipate a 5-star review for the food and service soon!

Yelp
We just dined at Gezzo's for dinner yesterday and their chefs are serving some excellent fresh ingredients full of flavor. We started with the chicken egg rolls and chips and salsa - the egg rolls we lightly fried for that crispness that makes it easy to bite through without it falling apart. Their chips and salsa are complimentary, and the chips are fresh and their salsa has a medium spice that's easy to eat quickly! Good stuff. For my entree I ordered the jerk buttermilk fried chicken - it was so damn good - please don't take this off the menu, ever. My wife ordered the Alambre with steak, shrimp and bacon and she loved it. Their bar is fully stocked and their cocktail specialties were perfect - we drank a few of their margaritas and rum cocktails - I was shocked they include real flowers to garnish (a very high end touch!). The churro bread pudding and Mexican ice cream were a perfect end to a fantastic meal. Also, the design of the interior and exterior dining spaces is well done. I love the mural of flower and all of the plants. I've included some pics of our meal, Get Some!

Yelp
Loved the food and the drinks were awesome. We had great service from Natasha, great energy and vibes!! We will be back
google avatar

Yelp
Food was great! Sat at the bar and the bar team were attentive and made a mean spicy margarita!
google avatar

Lidia S.

Yelp
Recently went to try out Gezzo's and was a bit underwhelmed by the food. Attentive service and super cute interior and patio, but the food was overall very bland. We started out with the queso and salsa-- queso was your standard white queso no complaints, the salsa's were on the sweeter side, we preferred the spicier one. To drink I got the spicy mango margarita which was pretty good, and for the entree I got the chicken tacos. I was expecting the peppers and onions to be cooked but they were tossed on completely raw, so it was a very bland taco. I'd maybe go back for drinks and apps, or maybe to try again since it's so close to us but not sure!

Yelp
Geezo's is a new neighborhood local for those of us living on the Upper Westside of Atlanta. It sits in the home of the old Juniper Cafe, which sadly never took off. Gezzo's did a good job opening right before Cinco de Mayo. What I loved so much was how drastically the space was redecorated. It has a large listing on Freda, beautiful big porch swings, heating seating areas outside, and plentiful seating inside of the dining room. I sat at the bar and had the drink tacos and a Paloma made special for me by the bartender, Savannah. I'm so glad that we have a clean and pretty Mexican restaurant within walking distance (using the Path) from my home. This place will surely do well. I give it 5 for being a family friendly, easy and affordable menu, full service casual restaurant within walking distance to thousands of residents.

Sharon B.

Yelp
Food & service were excellent! My first time there, will def be going back! Sat outside, it was SO GOOD!

Chloe H.

Yelp
Curry bowl was delicious. Please update your website if you are no longer offering 1/2 prices drinks on Thursdays. Took my mom out for lunch. Ordered two drinks and the bill came with them both at full price. I brought this up the the waitress and she said that now they are only $4 off not 1/2 off like online. She honored the 1/2 off but let me know that won't be the case next time...lol.
google avatar

Brittiney J.

Yelp
Wow, what an amazing food experience we had!! The service from Patrick was 5 star while sitting at the bar. I give this place 5 stars and HIGHLY recommend.

Yelp
Really good Cali Margaritas, the chips are made really fresh and taste great with the salsa
google avatar

Matt C.

Yelp
I was lucky to have a friend of mine take me to Gezzo's last night for dinner while I was in town for a few days for work. All I can say is WOW! The lamb birria tacos, the jerk fried chicken, and the mole chicken were out of this world. Everthing marinated and seasoned excellently. The head chef, Cam - came over to talk to us and it was awesome to see how invested he is in his cuisine, and his training and education more than backs that up. Definitely make your way to Gezzo's if you're in the Atlanta metro area. You won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Tina C.

Yelp
I was excited to try Gezzo's. It definitely did not disappoint. Great food and drinks! Had 3 delicious courses - Baja chicken egg rolls, Alambre and ice cream. Definitely will be returning!
google avatar

Erin E.

Yelp
Skip the kinda bs salsa trio and dig into delicious entrees instead. Very unique and flavorful. Some items were a little overcooked and dry but still delicious
google avatar

Keisha L.

Yelp
Every time I come here I have had an amazing experience. This is my first time coming on a Sunday and Natasha (my bartender) suggested my meal and took me out of my comfort zone by suggesting a new alcoholic drink. My food and drinks were a 10 out of 10z. So this MUST be on your restaurant to do list.

Clayton P.

Yelp
Natasha at the bar was our bartender/server. She was one of the best servers I have had in the UWS area. A memorable experience that you would have to pay multiples more for elsewhere. The service alone is worth the bill to come back again which we will!
google avatar

Madison S.

Yelp
Great service and ambiance! The burritos were amazing and I would recommend the Surf & Turf.

Kathy P.

Yelp
Maria greeted us at the Gezzo's in Locust Grove, GA and assembled our meals. The meals were delicious. Maria was meticulous in cleanliness which is the expectation of a food service business. The store looked sparkling clean. We will be back. :)
google avatar

Andrea C.

Yelp
Awful service. Seated quickly , but then no one came to our table and after 20 minutes we left. Was excited to try but apparently they dont need the business.

CZ M.

Yelp
Great food. Super cool vibe. Bartender rocks. This will be a regular spot when we are in town!
google avatar

Rob W.

Yelp
I ordered the carne asada tacos which came with rice and beans with a chicken taco on the side. The chicken taco had an abundance of flavor with the pineapples and peppers. Make sure you try it.

Prettygeekz G.

Yelp
My new go 2! I must say the food was delicious, the service was amazing with helpful menu suggestions and making sure we were good for the entire duration and I loved the seated atmosphere outside with a resort feel like decor. Manager was so friendly and accommodating. We enjoy this place and left super happy. We will be back soon again!
google avatar

Samantha M.

Yelp
Resturant Interior is beautiful. From the menu, grab the Spinach & Cheese Quesadilla with Shrimp. It was perfect for a quick lunch.

Amy R.

Yelp
We love Gezzo's. I am not sure why it still flies under the radar screen, but for now, I love that it isn't over crowded. All the cocktails are great, especially the specialty margaritas. But the Bloody Mary's are amazing...like lunch in a glass with a skewers of shrimp and quesadilla, you almost don't need an entree! The guacamole is so fresh and the ceviche was excellent. Great outdoor atmosphere and friendly staff. We loved our waitress Maggie and the chef even came out to say hello!!
google avatar

Emily B.

Yelp
LOVE LOVE LOVE Gezzo's being a new addition to the Westside! Their shrimp quesadillas are the best I've ever had. The service is fantastic- love the breezeway vibe with the swinging benches. Don't sleep on the frozen white peach Paloma or other unique cocktails!
google avatar

Maya E.

Yelp
This restaurant has amazing service as well as great food. Ronan, the restaurant manager, took excellent care of my friend and I. The drinks were phenomenal as well as the food. The variety of dishes offers a unique approach to Latin classics. I will be DEFINITELY be returning. 10/10 experience.

Darice S.

Yelp
Food, service, ambience and server Maggie was excellent. Will be back to west side location

Miranda M.

Yelp
This place is mediocre at best. Food really doesn't have any flavor. Ice tea tastes like water. Service is slow. Cute atmosphere but that's about it.
google avatar

Krystal J.

Yelp
I ordered through Uber Eats so I can't rate service but this food is delicious! We got ceviche, queso fundido, egg rolls, esquites, the Charlos tacos (my 12 year old loved them and she usually hates tacos that aren't from Taco Bell ), and a rice bowl with chicken. Everything was flavorful and so good. Definitely will come in one day.
