Ok, here goes: I've accepted the fact that in 2018, employees are going to be chattering with each other or looking at their phones instead of paying attention to the customer in front of them. Got it, that's not just Giant, that's everywhere.
But, to the people who work at Giant: is it too much to ask that after I've braved Delco traffic and navigated poorly designed parking lots to get to your store, that I and the groceries that I'm buying are treated with a little respect. Like, how about the cashier doesn't just keep the belt moving so that my fruit or my eggs get crushed by the canned soup and the milk. Or that you PRETEND that you're going to help me bag the groceries. Move an arm towards the bag so that it looks like you're contemplating it. Don't worry, I won't expect you to actually DO IT, but it would be nice to imagine, if only for a minute, that you might. And last, but not least, what about a thank you at the end of my order, as in, "thanks for shopping at Giant". Or "thank you for bagging your groceries". I spend hundreds of dollars at your store - literally - and a thank you for my business would not be out of line.
