I've driven by this place a few times and always wondered about it. When I stopped by I realized it's a relatively small market. And by relatively I mean just small.
I wandered around to see what I could buy that I would eat in my house. There were a lot of dried nuts/fruits/chocolates, that sort of thing, which I'm not really into. Oh, and there was a lot of ice cream, but when I looked at the ingredients all the ice cream had artificial coloring and stuff.. which for me defeats the purpose of buying "farm market" ice cream? There were also coffee beans, which I was curious about since my husband likes coffee. I bought him a bag of medium roast whole beans that were advertised to be smooth, and he said it was bad. Ops. I guess the students are still learning how to roast, or it was too old? Kind of sad for a close to $10 bag. I also saw some corn salsa that looked really good but on closer inspection the expiration date showed it was.. expired. I guess they could do a better job of checking their stock for expired items.
So anyway, what I was really looking for was fresh produce. In this season, there were quite a lot of pumpkins. They had acorn squash as well. I got a butternut squash for .99cents which was also very good. Beautiful orange on the inside. I also got some very fresh looking grapes here at a good price. I wish I had bought more of the grapes, they are so much better than the ones I've had from grocery stores. Firm, sweet, delicious!
Anyway, in spite of all the negatives, the grapes were so good I'm still giving them a fan review. Someday I'll have to line up for the famous corn.
