"With their irresistibly doughy centers and topping-speckled surfaces, Gideon’s half-pound cookies are so legendary that Disney World came calling and now serves as this local bakery’s flagship location. The wait, often by virtual queue, is worth it; you’ll need extra time to decide which delectable cakes and daily specials to add to your cookie haul." - Amanda Kludt, Helen Rosner, Bill Addison, Carlye Wisel

"Since Orlando’s best cookie purveyor made the leap to Disney’s main stage, the bakery has retained every ounce of originality. The menu of massive cake slices and inventive cold brews are tempting, but the highlight are nearly half-pound cookies, doughy in the center and positively jammed with chocolate chips, Oreo bits, or other rotating monthly flavors. They cut no corners and refuse to deliver nationwide, making the hefty cookies some of the most in-demand items at Disney World. Skip dessert elsewhere, plan ahead for the lengthy virtual queue, and take note of in-the-know items like hot cookie hour, coffee cake cookie specials, and secret cake slices that require a password shared on social media." - Carlye Wisel

We are not into gimmicks, especially having to wait in a LONG line for gimmicks... HOWEVER! It really is worth it if you like cookies. They really are very good. Maybe the best. Probably the best I've ever had. Sprinkles is still my favorite "tourist" dessert, but these are my second favorite. I read their coffee WAS good, but personally, I didn't care for it. It was too sweet. Also I didn't care for their cake. Although it was moist and had a good flavor, the amount of icing was off-putting for me, and not my preference (see my preference for Sprinkles 🤣) I like them better than the fancy chocolate shops, better than Voodoo donuts, and Toothsome. Definitely worth waiting (some time) for. Maybe not hours...

Finally made the line to see what’s inside the intriguing building where people lineup at Disney Springs. The day was cloudy so maybe people would be deterred and the wait wouldn’t be that long. It turned out to be a good idea, only took about 20 minutes to get inside. To be honest, I thought once inside I would be able to walk around but nope, as soon as you are allowed in, you get in line toward the counter to place your order. I like the decor the display of all the sweets they have to offer on that day. The counter person was very nice, wasn’t pushing any additional items, which I appreciate. Prices for sweets are a little high but I guess you pay for the novelty of it all. Definitely check them out.

Unique dessert spot. Cookies are almost half a pound and made fresh daily. Each month, they have a special limited time cookie and cake option. Everything is delicious! Today was the first time I tried their nitro cold brew, and it was amazing!

A happy customer of Gideons for 8 years +. This is the only place I have ever visited in Florida that has customer service at this level. I only visit the one at East End Market. Very pleasant staff, delightful cakes, and exceptional cookies. my favorite is the banana bread and the peanut butter. In my opinion, the best cakes or the Red Velvet and the Keylime. Close second is the carrot cake.

Anthony Couillard

Google
Very cool bakery. We waited about 35mins to get in. Was a little disappointed once we entered, just due to the size. It's not big inside and you still stay in a line to order. The decor is very cool and gives a Adam's family vibe. Felt a little rushed trying to make a decision on what we wanted. The Carrot Cake looked amazing! We got 4 cookies. The cookies were very moist and rich. Little much to rich for me and more chocolate chips that I typically like. Tasted really good though. My daughter scarfed hers down. Worth a little wait to get in. Fun and good treats.

When someone told me that you might have to wait 2 hours in line for a cookie, I told them they were nuts. After dinner, we walked by and the wait was 20 minutes. That’s doable. Glad we waited. Once inside the smell alone will take your mind off the waiting. There is plenty to look at and I loved the theme. Once I got the near the display cases I could see the massively thick cookies and was finally able to put a visual to the aroma. So many choices and they all looked good. The chocolate chip was one of the sweetest I’ve ever had. TBH, I wasn’t blown away on day one, however, I tried them again a few days later and they were incredible. Definitely worth the visit and wait! They are proud of their recipes and I saw why in every bite.

Google
The original chocolate chip was the best cookie I’ve ever eaten. The smell inside this location made me want to buy all of the cookies. Cashier was very nice. At only $6-7 a cookie, this is a great place to stop for a sweet treat. There is usually a line but it moves quickly, only ended up waiting about 10 minutes.

Tommy Martinez

Google
These viral treats are worth the wait if you like sugar! We waited about 20 minutes but it went quickly. We got the banana bread cookie which a deliciously sinful treat. It’s big enough to split into about 4 big bites. We also got some merch like a tumbler and the staff was super friendly. Definitely worth a visit if you’ve never been.

Yelp
I only have a few words to say about this place.....their cookies and cakes are absolutely delicious and out of this world. A must try while in Disney Springs! I love chocolate chip Cookies and theirs is by far the best ones I have tried in my life. Their variety of cookies is incredible. But get ready to make a line and wait. But it's worth it!

Yelp
Unfortunately, I am going to have to pull my review down because the owner's true colors have appeared when somebody exposed their pay issue. I will explain fully. Somebody anonymously posted that Gideon's Bakehouse is not paying their employees enough and other crazy stuff with harassment and safety. While I had my doubts, I felt that the pay component could be addressed pretty quickly. The response today disappointed me so much. Basically, its none of our business what they pay their employees and that we should blame the industry, not Gideon's. While I understand that this is a "small business", this is not an excuse to do whatever you feel like you want. From my MBA sleuthing, I think I have found the crux of the problem and is why I am giving them one star. They consider working at Gideon's Bakehouse as a tipped job. This would be similar to being a server at any of the Disney Springs restaurants. I do not think most people know this is the case as the front line workers, while helpful, do not perform the same actions as a server in a restaurant or somebody at Starbucks. Because of this, most people don't tip or tip lower. Its now come out that they can no longer ask for tips. I was never asked for tips when I was there, but because of that, everybody's pay is going to drop to close to the already painfully low Florida minimum wage. The management's response is what soured me to this place. I am sorry, but I will no longer be supporting this place. I won't judge if you do, but please make sure to tip!

Yelp
You'll come for the cookies...you'll stay for the cold brew. But seriously, everything is SO good. And I think we've tried it all. Favorite cookie: Triple Chocolate Chip Favorite cake: Golden Oreo Favorite overall: Peanut Butter Cold Brew Wait in line for the cold brew at the Disney Springs location. It's worth it!

Jai R.

Yelp
We waited for awhile to get in here - yes the ambiance is cool - but I found the staff to be unfriendly and we were rushed through ordering before we were ready. If you know my niche, service is huge. I give them 1 star for service because they were just very impatient trying to get everyone through - if I'm ordering a $6 cookie I would like some time to check out your menu and ask allergen questions. I reached out this company to advice they are more customer minded but they never responded.

Yelp
After waiting 30 minutes outside, we finally stepped into a dark, gothic library filled with sinfully sweet aromas of freshly baked cookies. Uncanny, ghoulish doodles and oddities adorned the walls. Display cases of jumbo cookies and cake slices teased our appetite. Our chipper cashier insisted their sweets were "bussin," but we thought otherwise. She swiftly brought us the Original Chocolate Chip Cookie, Pistachio Toffee Chocolate Chip Cookie, and Carrot Cake. These hefty domes were smothered in chocolate chips! I wish the cookies had crispy edges and a gooey interior. The texture felt similar to that of cookie dough, which isn't bad in itself, just not my preference. The Carrot Cake wasn't anything unique besides it's colossal size. One cookie would have been more than enough for the two of us to share. We got tired of the sugary overload after a few bites and left them in our AirBnB as a last resort to eat.

Yelp
Step into the mysterious world of Gideon's Bakehouse, where the scent of history mixes with the aroma of freshly baked delights. Tucked away within the pages of a forgotten cookbook, Gideon's story unfolds--a tale of longing and ambition. As you wander through the bakery, adorned with relics of a bygone era, you can't help but feel a sense of intrigue. Steve Lewis, the mastermind behind Gideon's, embarked on a journey to fulfill the dreams of a young boy named Gideon, immortalized in faded notes and doodles. But beneath the surface lies a hint of melancholy, as if the secret ingredient in every Gideon's Cookie is a tear shed in remembrance. Yet, amidst the shadows of the past, there's an air of creativity and resilience. Meet Steve, the enigmatic owner whose quest for the perfect chocolate chip cookie spans over a decade. Is it the complexity of the recipe or his own culinary struggles that fueled this odyssey? Perhaps it's a bit of both, whispered among the pages of his life's chapters. And then there's Michael, the guardian of Gideon's vision, whose meticulous eye ensures that every detail exudes perfection, even as he battles his own demons. Alongside them stands Kelsey, a beacon of hope rescued from the clutches of corporate monotony, now dancing to the rhythm of her own memes and movie quotes. In the labyrinthine corridors of Gideon's Bakehouse, every bite tells a story, every crumb a whisper of history. It's more than a bakery--it's a sanctuary where dreams rise, and the past meets the present in a delicious fusion of flavors and memories.

Yelp
This place is insanely good!!! The line was crazy long but it moved quick! This location is tiny but mighty. There is a limit on the amount of cookies each person may purchase, they have cake, coffee and merchandise options for purchase. They have limited edition cookies and specialty coffee! Sooo yummy! It's definitely worth the wait!

Courtney K.

Yelp
Gideons cookies are well worth the trip. This dark and gloomy cookie shop is a fun addition to any Orlando trip. This months cookie and cake flavor is Peanut Butter Cold Brew. Delicious with a strong Peanut Butter Flavor and coffee undertones and then coated with broken up Reese's Pieces. The wait wasn't a long one, about 25 minutes in line. And the employees were fast and friendly. Sometimes I wish I lived closer because these are my favorite cookies Follow me on Instagram for more reviews @coffeeforcourtney

Briana N.

Yelp
I'm not the biggest cookie fan but I am a big fan of Gideons Bakehouse! The line can be intimidating but the cookies are huge and the flavors are always changing (I think it's around once a month) so it's worth it to go every once in a while to see what's new. The cookies are best when you first get them because they're all fresh and the inside chocolate is so gooey. But they also keep very well. I usually can't eat too much of the cookie at a time so I just put it in the fridge or freezer (for long-term storage) and then microwave how much I want when I want. Outside of the actual cookies themselves, going to Gideons is a whole experience in and of itself. The inside is very gothic styled with portraits of these characters. Along with the changing flavors is a customized menu featuring one of the characters with a little bio. If you place an order, you also receive a little trading card with another character and it's own bio. If I lived in the area, I would definitely want to collect all of the menus and cards.

Yelp
I passed by this bakery and wondered why is the line sooo freaking long in the blazing hot sun? Needless to say I did not get in it. An hour later, walking back through, I noticed the crowd had thinned down to around ten customers compared to the 40+ earlier, so I decided to google the menu and boy the cookies and cakes looked so good I decided to get in the now short line. I chose the original chocolate chip and the pistachio chocolate chip. I now know why they have a constant line at the door because the cookies are huge and delicious. Out of the two choices I had the pistachio was it for me....

Elaine L.

Yelp
I love how mysterious their branding is, and how they always have lines out the door! Visited Florida and knew I had to try this place! Got the banana bread chocolate chip cookie and the pistachio toffee cookie. ($6/ cookie) I personally found both of the cookies to be wayy too cakey/dense as I prefer chewy cookies. I enjoyed how the pistachio toffee cookie had crunchy toffee bits in it and thought that it gave the cookie a little more character. The banana bread chocolate chip cookie just tasted like a banana bread and unfortunately didn't resemble a cookie to me at all and had a really artificial banana taste to it. We visited them as they were close to closing and waited about 15 mins in line. Although not my personal favorite, I'm glad to have experienced it and definitely understand the hype around it though!

Sophia T.

Yelp
There was about a 30 minute wait each time that I had went here. The ambiance was gothic Harry Potter vibes when you walk into the store. It's $6 for a cookie which weighs half a pound. You are limited to 6 cookies per person, so that there is enough cookies for others to buy. Chocolate chip - this was my least favorite based on personal preference, since the ratio of chocolate chip to batter was not to my liking. There was too much chip that I couldn't really taste the batter. Cookies and cream - this cookie was really good. It had a good ratio of oreo to batter. Coffee cake - was really good. The flavor was nicely balanced. You can definitely enjoy this with a cup of coffee!

Yelp
I was worried about a long line, but at 5:15 on a Thursday evening, it only took about 10-15 minutes to get in. The inside was decorated fantastically with different types of little monsters. Certainly well done, as can be expected of Disney! Ok, so the cookies...the most heavenly and decadent cookies I have ever had. I would venture to say that this was one of the most delicious desserts I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying! Let's put it this way, I can't stop thinking about them!! Now, I can never move too far from Orlando for fear that I will not be able to eat these again! I don't even want to know how many calories are in this, but it will be a new guilty pleasure, for sure!! The line is worth the wait! This is an absolute MUST TRY!

Ramona G.

Yelp
Hmm not worth the wait in my opinion. I had never heard of Gideon's Bakehouse before, but when I was in Disney Springs with my friend we couldn't help but noice the MASSIVE line that was in front of the shop. Apparently my friend had heard about Gideon's cookies before from a TV show, so she wanted to wait in line, and since I'm a huge foodie too, it seemed like something I shouldn't miss. We waited in line for about 40 minutes. While in line, they handed us a menu to cut our decision time once we were inside. We were already full from dinner, so we decided to just share two cookies since they are pretty big in size. We got the Pistachio Toffee and the Kris Kringle (white chocolate coffee bean cookie). If I'm being honest with you, the cookies weren't that great. We each had a bite of it and we were over it fast haha. It wasn't terrible but the cookies are super heavy to digest so it's hard to eat a lot of it. Neither one of us wanted to finish the cookies, and we had them in our hotel room for the rest of our vacation and they were still left untouched by the time our trip was over haha. The theme was pretty cool though, it had a dark gothic vibe to it, but I feel like it's one of those places where you'll go once but not go back.

Sonya P.

Yelp
The cookies were great!! I understand the hype. Went to the Disney Springs location. We walked past it at first because of the line. We did a lap and came back and the line went down and waited no more than 10 mins. We went on the first day of the month not knowing they had their new flavor out. It was a Reese's pieces chocolate chip cookie or cake flavor. Goodness gracious, it was perfection. It's exactly what you could imagine a great thicc cookie, with those ingredients, would taste like. Also got the OG cc cookie and I loved it. Inside it small and dark themed. Not expecting that, but the decor on the outside obviously gives that away. My preference is a warm cc cookie or Wegman's cc cookie, but if you're gonna do a thick cookie, be like Gideon's.

Ariana V.

Yelp
I expected a long line after the infamous Keith Lee came here and raved about their cookies. The line wasn't that long, but worth the wait. They let a selected amount inside to avoid crowding and maybe conserve the AC inside lol. The service was really friendly and the little bakehouse inside is dimly lit and gives a cute, but scary vibe. It reminds me of Corpse Bride! My brother and I tried their seasonal banana nitro cold brew, which was GAS! The best coffee I've literally ever had. The banana wasn't that overpowering, but I swear it was soooo good. I ordered the pistachio toffee cookie and shared with my mom. It was so sweet and soft. It tasted even better when eaten with the coffee. My brother also liked the cookies he ordered and took some home. I'd love to visit again and see what seasonal items they offer next time!

Kimberly N.

Yelp
Went on a Saturday evening and was told that the wait would be 45 minutes (no virtual queue), but it ended up being closer to 30 minutes, which wasn't bad. The inside smelled heavenly, and I loved the gothic/medieval decor. I wanted to try the limited edition peanut butter cold brew cookie and the Oreo cold brew drink, but there was a mix-up with my order and I ended up getting a peanut butter cold brew cookie and drink (the worker actually gave me an Oreo cookie originally, but I swapped it once I realized). The mistake was understandable since they have the same names for their cookies, cakes, and drinks, but the worker wasn't very attentive when I was trying to correct the order (e.g., she added a second cookie instead of correcting the first cookie). With that aside, the peanut butter cold brew drink was AMAZING. I'm not a coffee drinker but decided to order it based on reviews and am glad I did. It was sooo smooth and creamy. The cookie, on the other hand, was a bit disappointing. I wasn't a fan of the texture, and the peanut butter flavor overpowered the cold brew flavor.

Carmen C.

Yelp
The day we came there was no QR check in so we just lined up normally. The friendly staff told us the estimated time for the wait. We were handed a paper menu, the art on the other side of the menu is cute. We ended up getting the chocolate sliced cake and original cookie. The decor inside was cool. Wow they were delicious, I wish they had a shop back home.

Abby R.

Yelp
Peanut Butter Cold Brew ... GET IT!!! Oh my gosh it was sooo good and smooth. The line was short enough today that they didn't have the virtual wait. The line went fairly quick, about 30 minutes to get inside. They gave a menu while we were outside so we could see what was available. We got a seasonal krampus cookie, the chocolate chip, and the coffee cake cookie. TO DIE FOR!!! Oh my gosh. Full of flavor, soft on the inside. I can't rave enough. The staff was super nice while in line and quick inside to get you taken care of. If you see the line... know it is worth it.

Stephen M.

Yelp
This was my first time getting to stop here because I can't handle standing in a line for so long. I happen to catch it when they're only half a dozen people outside. Everything is organized and coordinated outside and in. When you get inside, they tell you to move as far along the line as you can, and when the door closes, it gets fairly dark. It's an entire atmosphere. That is actually kind of cool. When you get up to the counter, some of the cookies that they have available are displayed. This can help you decide on which one might be your favorite to try first. Being as it was my first time here I wanted to try a couple of different ones. I was getting two cookies and they talked me to a third cookie which also got me one of their trading cards and then I couldn't help but grab a package of their cookie bites. I know what I like and I ordered my cookies accordingly. I always figure it's best to stay with your preferences the first time. With this in mind, I was going to try the triple chocolate chip and get the months limited edition flavor, which was white chocolate caramel macadamia nut. Even the name is a mouthful. For my third cookie, I went with a standard chocolate chip cookie as you can never go wrong with them. I wanted to try them all before I wrote my review as I can't eat too much sugar too quickly. The first thing I tried was, a cookie bite. These are just purely decadent. They are chunks of their chocolate chip cookie that are then dipped in a healthy layer of dark chocolate. One of these bites is a meal for an average person. I could eat them all day long if they didn't cost so much. Each of the cookies has its own features that make it good. The chocolate chip cookie is much like other chocolate chip cookies except for the sheer size of it and the quantity of chips both on and in it. Probably one of the best chocolate chip I have ever had, the triple chocolate is almost too chocolatey even for me. There is so much and it just hit you hard. The white chocolate macadamia really just blew me away. You taste all the flavors in it, but every bite is a little different. All of the cookies seem to be finished off with a bit of kosher salt and when you get a bit of that in a it just magnifies the flavors. I know so many people have been here and tried their cookies and other products but if you've been wanting to stop and didn't think the lines were worth it then you are mistaken. These cookies were worth every penny I spent for them and just for the experience, it's a really cool thing. they also have a website where you can order and have cookies shipped to you. Next time I stop in I hope to try something different off their menu. A worthwhile experience for anyone visiting Disney.

Nancy N.

Yelp
I was walking by and saw a line to get in! I looked up reviews and it seemed to be moving quickly so I decided to try it out. I was able to get in within 10 minutes. They hand you a menu before hand so you know what they have. Small, but tasty menu. I got the banana nitro cold brew, banana cookie, and pistachio cookie. SO SO good. Definitely can share the cookies with others but the pricing was perfect. It wasn't overpriced and everything was delicious.

Cathrine S.

Yelp
Finally was able to snag a spot in line at Gideon's after several trips to Orlando! On busier days Gideons may opt to open a virtual queue, which you will only know about if you are already at Disney Springs, which can be a bummer because you may very well walk up to a virtual queue that is 2-3 hours long and have made the trek from your resort or the parks to Disney Springs only to find the wait to be this long.. which happened to us on more than one occasion. It would be helpful to state on their website whether or not a virtual queue is in effect as well as the anticipated wait time in real time. On our last trip, they had just ended the virtual queue and were allowing people to line up outside. The wait from start to finish was 45-50 minutes, which is quite long for coffee and a sweet treat in my opinion, but I wanted to see what the hype was about. The bakery is very dark inside, it had a gothic vibe. The cookie displays were underwhelming. They were layered under a glass case only being able to view 4-5 cookies before you need to move along in the queue. I would have liked a large menu to view from anywhere in the line with the current available cookies on it. By the time I had gotten to the front of the line two of the three cookies I was planning on ordering were out for the day, which would have been nice to know ahead of getting to the counter. The cookies, obviously as seen in many photos, are huge, very thick and wide. One bite is really all you need to satisfy a craving because of how dense and thick they are. Which means you're left with a very large cookie to try and save throughout the rest of your Disney day, and by the time you are ready for more the cookie has dried out. The coffees on the other hand were delicious, we tried the flavor of the month - French Toast Nitro Cold Brew and the Peanut Butter Cold Brew. Overall, I'm glad I tried it, but would not stand in that long of a line again for the bakery.

Dawn E.

Yelp
Overpriced, average cookies that are sold in mass because there's a hype. After waiting 30 minutes to get in, the doorman granted us access to our experience. We were so excited for warm, delicious cookies. Why else for such a line? The massive cookie looks like it would be wonderful as it was handed to us, but our first bite into the cookie tasted cold and immediately with disappointment followed by a weird aftertaste. Got the peanut butter coffee and it was straight sweetener. This store is all style, no substance. Go and pick up some toll house, you'll be better off.

Dakota P.

Yelp
I didn't even get to take pictures of the cookies because we couldn't wait to eat them! I had the Oreo cookie and the peanut butter crunch. I highly recommend trying these cookies if you're in Disney Springs!

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
Gideon's Bakehouse is an apothecary of sweets and delectable, dark indulgences. It's a bakehouse that entices unprepared guests from the normal, outside world (Disney Springs). The smells and the mysterious vibes that call to the innermost desires of every human have the power to lure even the most strong willed, sugar avoiding healthy lifestyle living among us. The decadence found behind these doors cannot be compared to any other earthly offerings. I found that my first visit left me intoxicated and wanting more. Every subsequent visit has felt like Harry must have felt upon returning to Hogwarts after a long, joyless summer spent at Privett Drive with the Dursleys. Let's start with the cakes Omg, if you love icing get a cake slice. If you love moist cake get a cake slice. If you wanna teeter on the edge of death by sugar and utter deliciousness get a cake slice. The cake slices are freaking phenomenal. They are beautifully balanced and they melt in your mouth. If you see a flavor offering you love don't hesitate. Just get it. My favs are true red velvet, peanut butter and chocolate, chocolate everything, eternal flame, and peanut butter and jelly. Lemme tell ya... this cake will cause you to fist fight your family members for the last bite. Cookies... I admit I wasn't blown away by the cokes at first. But, after being hypnotized by some of the seasonal flavors I changed my mind with the quickness. Peanut butter and chocolate swirl is by far the best. Eternal flame is a close second. The regular daily options are great with banana bread being my fav. But the Hot Cookie Hour cookie ice cream combo steals the show y'all! Secret revealed!!!! between 1 and 2 pm they serve hot, fresh out of the cauldron, I mean oven, chocolate chip cookies with malted vanilla ice cream. Just let that sit with you for a second. And they do it again later in the evening (I forgot the times for evening hot cookie hour). Cold Brew is the best cold brew I've ever had hands down. Made with oat milk and flavored like it was made for the Gods (like the Greek Gods) the peanut butter is so sweet you need to share it unless you're a daredevil with nothing to lose or a rebel without a cause. The original is sweet too, but manageable. It's creamy and coffee-ey and it truly hits the spot for an afternoon caffeine pick me up. Don't sleep on it (that would be impossible anyway lol)! So about that line... It can take 4 hours to get into Gideon's when there is a virtual queue. Yes it's that popular and yes it's totally worth it. But one thing to note is that they have another version in Orlando proper hardly ever has a wait but the experience isn't as magical You'll get your cookies cake and cold brew but you won't experience the enchantment of the DS location. When there is no virtual queue that's when you can get in the doors in about 20 min. or less. And there is a cookie purchasing limit especially with the cookie of the month. Service is top notch. Fast and friendly. They know their stuff and make great suggestions! Go to Gideon's on your next visit to Orlando and thank me later! Another review giving it to you straight no chaser! Enjoy!

Yelp
I'm not really a big cookie fan, but I saw this as highly recommended after reading blogs and youtube video's. Of course, I got curious and had to try it when we went for Disney trip. We went to Disney Springs past 10pm and we're not surprised theres a line outside to get in. We were in and out for about 30 minutes. The place was dark inside with a gothic library ambience. We ordered the original chocolate chips, triple chocolate chips, pistachio toffee, and of course the limited edition of the month white chocolate caramel macadamia nut. Each cookie is 1/2 pound, it's dense, humongous and generously covered with chocolate chips. My husband and I had to share one cookie, that's how big it is for me. I like the triple chocolate the most. The rest we ordered, I could only eat quarter of the cookie as it's too sweet for me.

Yelp
Gideon's Bakehouse is located at Disney Springs and is a very popular destination. It's so busy that they have their own virtual queue so people aren't spending their time waiting in line for hours at a time. We put our names on the virtual queue and were told the wait was three hours. We took that time to eat a bit and walk around Disney Springs. We got the text message that it was our time back in the queue after two hours and we made our way back. We ordered the cookies n cream cold brew ($6) and the original chocolate chip cookie ($6). The cold brew was good but the cookie was amazing! They were half a pound each and the salt flakes on top took it to another level. It's honestly worth the wait. The good thing is you don't need to wait there for hours like you used to have to, and you can still enjoy the area while you wait for your turn.

Yelp
When searching for things to do in Disney Springs, Gideon's came highly recommended, so naturally, we had to experience it for ourselves! As we approached, the sight of a lengthy queue greeted us (expect a wait of at least 30 minutes before entry). However, they efficiently managed the line, even providing menus while we waited, with the option to rest on a concrete flower bed nearby. Upon finally entering, we encountered a shorter queue (15 minutes) for the checkout counter. The interior gave a goth Steven Spielberg meets Harry Potter vibe. Opting for three cookies - coffee cake, chocolate toffee pistachio, and cookies n cream - we found them delicious, although the wait felt a tad excessive for the experience. Nonetheless, their monthly featured cookie flavor and collector's card included in each box added a charming touch. Despite the wait, it's worth a visit, especially if you're yet to indulge in their offerings!

Yelp
OMG! The cookie decadence of Gideon's Bakehouse in Orlando Disney Springs is amazing! Worth the wait if its less than 1 hour. Really cool ambiance inside & the aromas of sweet baked goods hits you when the door opens! 1/2 LB cookies. Get the original chocolate chip & coffee cake if it's still avail in the morning. Pumpkin cold brew was tasty even for people who dont like coffee!

Yelp
Went to see what all the hype was about and was not disappointed! The cookies are massive and I think the Cookies and Cream Iced Coffee on tap was the best coffee I've ever had!!

Yelp
I came in less than an hour before closing so the wait wasn't as intense as during the day time. It was like a 5-10 minute wait before ordering. The interior is gothic and dark. These cookies are intense and can't be finished in one sitting or alone. They're bigger, heavier, and crazier than Crumbl Cookies! I tried the cookies and cream and dark coffee cake cookies. The cookies and cream was good but too thick and chaotic with the excessive Oreos on top for my liking. I didn't like the dark coffee cake cookie at all. It was very cinnamon-y and tasted more like a cake than a cookie. Both cookies were very sweet! I I'm glad I didn't wait a long time for these cookies. It's not worth the wait. I'm interested in trying their coffees or cakes but don't want to wait in a long line as it might taste as mediocre and/or overwhelmingly sweet as the cookies.

Yelp
Just do it. Mobile Que. Wait in the line. It is 110% worth it. First let's start with the cold brew. Honestly the original cold brew is by far one of the smoothest cold brews I've ever had. Such a great flavor and paired perfectly with my cookie. My Que time magically lined up with hot cookie time so I had to get one. My husband was rushing my so no photo, but just know it was the perfect chocolatey gooey warm cookie with ice cream that we all love and dream about, but with more chocolate chips. I did order some cookies to bring home! I got the coffee cake cookie, banana bread chocolate chip, and pistachio toffee. All of them were amazing, but honestly the coffee cake one wowed me the most. The line moves quick and the staff is very helpful with answering any questions you may have. The interior is fantastic and very Victorian gothic vibe. Make this a must stop on your list!

Yelp
Was my cookie good? Was it worth waiting in line for? Was the best cookie I've ever had? Was it worth what the hype was? The answer to all of those questions is kinda as I really feel the cookies here aren't worth the hype yes they are good but they aren't over the top amazing like some would say they are. We ordered two of them the Banana Bread one and the regular Chocolate Chip one both of which are very rich and full of chocolate and the banana bread one with the nuts and the essence of fake banana but it worked together to make it still good in some type of way. There really isn't much to it here just the cookies we had and the interesting interior of this building like your in a dilapidated library with a bunch of strange characters on the walls making for a different dark experience all around! Overall the cookies we had were a but over average but also very much so on the rich side but the real question is would I come back to get them? Probably not because I just don't feel it was worth standing in line for!

Yelp
After a couple tries I find Gideon's to be one of the more over-hyped spots at Disney. I give them credit for having a well-managed virtual queue that allows you to experience other parts of Disney Springs while you wait in the sometimes hours long line. The interior of the store and the overall Gothic Burtonesque atmosphere are really neat. I personally love the cash registers. Where Gideon's falls short is the thing they are often so renowned for - the cookies. My trouble with the cookies is that per the title, they ought to be cooked. Unfortunately, they are so thick and candy-laden that the super-sweet dough never really gets that delicious bake. Perhaps they should call them doughies. They are just way more like a cake or a dough than they are like my favorite treat, a cookie. The dough is very sweet and they add tons of chips, candies, etcetera to the exterior. Even for someone with a sweet tooth like me, it's way too much sugar. Every time I've gotten one I've only been able to take about one bite a day. The flavors aren't bad, and some are more edible than others, but on the whole it's just too rich for me. If you feel the need to try for yourself, I suggest you get yourself a big glass of water.

Yelp
We had hear that Gideon's was the place to visit, but we hadn't had a chance to stop in due to extremely long lines. We decided to try again on our trip to Disney Springs last month and we got lucky that the line was very short! We got in after only about 15 minutes and it was well worth the wait. The cookies are absolutely gigantic and are worth the $6 per cookie charge. We took them home and 4 cookies lasted an entire week, which was very fun. The cookies are more akin to fudge as they're so dense and there's no way that someone could (or should) eat a whole one haha. They are very tasty though and the pistachio toffee was definitely our favorite. Just as good as the cookies was the peanut butter cold brew we ordered. It tasted like a milkshake and it was one of the tastiest things we've ever had! Gideon's was a fun place to visit and we'd definitely stop in again!

Yelp
By far THE BEST COOKIES I HAVE EVER TASTED! The pb cold brew was drank in all about .5 sec. The downtown Disney locations line can get pretty long! I've been to both locations and the one out in town was not as long of a wait. You don't get the whole experience but the cookies are the same. I absolutely feel this is a must stop! And I'm actually sad they don't ship lol

Yelp
We came here on a Thursday around 4:40 pm. The line was a mere 20 minutes and our dinner reservations were for 5:15 pm, so we thought, Why not? We ended up getting the pistachio toffee cookie (my favorite), the banana bread chocolate chip cookie (second favorite), and original chocolate chip. When I got back to the hotel, I cut the cookies in 1/4th and we enjoyed sampling them after our dinner. For $6 a cookie (each a 1/2 pound), I thought it was reasonable. Kind of like Disney Girl Scout cookies. I will definitely be back as long as the line is reasonable.

Yelp
Is it worth spending 30-60 minutes in line to be shuffled through a tight queue just to buy a $6 cookie? Yeah, kinda. I was surprised at just how small the retail area of Gideon's Bakehouse is, having waited for more than a year for the hype to die down. I only had to wait about 15 mins on 3/22/24 to finally get my chance to peek inside the place. I bought 6 giant cookies and went about my day. The cookies are huge. They are delicious. They are decadent. And as a fat boy, I can tell you I had difficulty finishing an entire 8 oz. Triple chocolate chip cookie. By difficult, I mean I didn't finish it. I'm glad I got a chance to check this place out and sample the goods. The goods are very good, but I don't think I need to come back. Well, maybe I'd like to try a $9 slice of cake...

Yelp
Not a fan. We saw Gideon's on a food show and couldn't wait to try it! We waited in line for about 30 min before being able to enter the store and order. They had something like 10 types of cooked and a few cakes to choose from and we ordered 5 cookies to try: Oreo, chocolate chip, pistachio, coconut (with something else), and another I can't remember. They were all underwhelming and just tasted like mounds of sugar with chocolate chips. Points for decor and overall organization for a well run store when the line is constantly long but just not for me.

Yelp
I always enjoy going to Gideon's when I visit Disney Springs. With flavors like banana bread chocolate chip, cookies & cream, pistachio chocolate chip or good ol' original chocolate chip, you can't go wrong. They're nearly a half pound of baked deliciousness & almost impossible to not eat all in one sitting. It's not an exaggeration when I say they're baked to perfection every time. Crunchy on the outside & soft on the inside, I don't know how they pull that kind of black magic off. The ingredients they use are so fresh which you can taste in every bite. On top of serving delicious baked goods, I appreciate how they release new menu art monthly & offer exclusive trading cards when you purchase a box of 3 cookies. They sell merch like shirts, candles, & pins with a bunch of their creepy, yet cute, goth themed characters on them. The art is created by "Mr. Eyes" & it really helps tie in the spooky vibe they're going for. The attention to detail put into this location is stand out! Be aware that this location gets very crowded at times. They've started using a virtual queue system but there's no doubt that you'll be waiting a while for your treats. With that said, the workers are always super friendly & provide awesome service. The only downside I could mention is they're a little pricey, however, it's easier to rationalize when you only get it a couple times a year or if you've never been before. I don't tend to throw "perfect" around too often but there's not one bad thing I can point out about their cookies or cake slices. I can confidently say they're worth every penny.

Yelp
I went with some friends on a Monday and it was so memorable. Around a 30 minute wait, but it was worth it. This is such a cute spooky themed cookie shop. Inside the shop gives Harry Potter library vibes. They usually have a limit of 6 cookies, however since they currently have 3 seasonal cookies, the limit was 9 per person. We tried the original chocolate chip, Kris Kringle cookie, coffee cake and the banana bread chocolate chip. The Kris Kringle and coffee cake cookies were my favorite. The Kris Kringle had white chocolate chips, and the ground coffee beans within the cookie balanced so well together. The coffee cake is only offered in the morning, so I recommend going early before they sell out. Each cookie is 1/2 pound each, so these can definitely be shared! Definitely a must-try while you're in Disney Springs.

Yelp
TL;DR. Incredible $6, half pound cookies. Pro Tip: Check to see if they are offering a mobile check in when you in line. If the line is to Morimoto Asia's it's about a 20 minute wait. I have only had the cookies here and feel they are worth the wait and the price. At two times a day they offer a warm cookie with ice cream. We did it at 7 PM, not sure the other time. This was good but the ice cream didn't live up to the cookie. It didn't taste like anything special. The cookies are. The chocolate chip and pistachio toffee are my go to. The decoration's and paintings offer a very cool vibe.

Yelp
I did not have many things on my itinerary for my most recent trip to Disney, it was kind of a last-minute trip so I was playing a lot of it by ear. One thing, however, that I definitely wanted to try was Gideon's Bakehouse. I had seen nothing but good things said about it both here on Yelp and on other social media sites. I'm a fan of baked goods, and was especially interested in how their cookies stacked up against other specialty shops I've been to, so I made plans to visit Disney Springs and check them out. Gideon's is located right by Morimoto Asia, Raglan Road, and Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' (I'm not sure the name of the section - I literally walk around Disney Springs aimlessly until I find what I'm looking for). This is actually their second location - the original is located in Orlando proper. As I approached, the doors were closed with two employees standing outside letting people in and out. I noticed a queue area outside where people were waiting to get in, so I got in line. I saw on social media that people can wait 2 to 5 hours in line, but I waited no longer than 10 minutes before reaching the front (they must have known I was coming). While I was waiting, an employee was giving out menus - the star was cookies and they had a good selection of flavors. They also had some giant cake slices available and different flavored cold brews. From what I could tell, the cookies were those giant cakey kinds - similar to Levain and Chip NYC, and the cake slices were similar to ones I've seen at City Cakes; I was really looking forward to seeing how Gideon's stacked up. The interior is small and dark, in line with the gothic theme that the brand has. I decided to go with their classic chocolate chip cookie, a slice of cinnamon roll cake, and a classic white cold brew. The cookie was outrageous (in a good way) - loaded with chocolate chips, with just the right amount of chew. It can easily be shared with someone else (in theory ;-). The cold brew was tasty - it was sweet with an almost vanilla flavor. The cake slice was huge - too big for me to eat there or by myself so I saved it for later. When I eventually did try it. I thought it was good. It had just the right amount of cinnamon flavor, and even though there was a lot of frosting, it wasn't overly sweet (it being cream cheese-base helped curb the sweetness). So, how does Gideon's stack up? I thought it was a really good cookie - high quality, lots of chocolate chips, and good consistency. I don't think it's as good as Levain, but it's definitely worth making a trip to Disney Springs to check them out - the cake and coffee only support my opinion that they put out good products. The customer service was icing on the cake (no pun intended), and I will definitely make a return trip here the next time I'm in the area.

Yelp
Is it worth it to wait almost 3 hours for a cookie? My answer is yes if I have time to kill. The line for this place is insane and they run a virtual queue where you join it via phone and they text you before you can get into the actual line which was about 10 minutes. We had lunch reservations so we're able to kill most the wait by our lunch and shopping. The service was prompt when we finally made it inside. The cookies are to die for - super loaded with goodies (we tried the cookies and cream and chocolate chip), moist, and still taste great the same day. They are huge so we shared two amongst a few of us. The cold brews are also delicious. The shop is like a dark spooky library very on brand for being located in Disney. Don't know if I would wait without other plans, but great cookies if you have the time!

Yelp
I love love love Gideon's. The line is always long but I promise it's worth it. Their cookies are the best I've had, and it's better than Levain's in my humble opinion. They have a monthly flavor that's always been good. The cookies are huge and nearly half a pound each. Quality is always fresh and it never disappoints! Plus I think their decor is just awesome. It feels like you're about to get in a Disney ride. My personal favorite is the banana bread chocolate chip and the hubby likes cookies and cream. But I've never had a monthly flavor that I didn't like!! Also their nitro brew coffee pairs excellently with the cookies!

Yelp
We arrived/got in line 30 min before they opened. The line stretched around the corner as it usually does and we ended up where the line curves in front of the restaurant it shares a wall with. The staff was super friendly and informative as the walked along and passed out flyers and talked to customers in line. We got in about 10:30 and there was a short line inside. The environment was spooky cool and fun to look at. There was a wafting fragrance that was a little overwhelming my 5 year old was having a little bit of hard time standing in there because it was very potent. We ended up ordering chocolate chip cookie, cookies and cream cookie and the coffee cake cookie. We have had a bite of each and I am Not a huge sweets fan but looooooooved the half bakedness of it. We also ordered the rainbow cake which was delightful! I got my arm "twisted" to order the PB Nitro Cold brew and I will admit that I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't sweet at all and took the bitterness away from the nitro cold brew which I normally opt to drink black because I don't mind the bitter. It was a super fun experience! I think next time we will try the virtual queue since we normally kind of hang out in Disney Springs and enjoy walking around all day.

Yelp
At Disney Springs, Gideon's Bakehouse is the place to go for delicious cookies. Their banana bread cookie is a must-try, with its soft and chewy texture and subtle banana flavor. The classic chocolate chip cookie has chunks of chocolate chips throughout. I also had the dark coffee cookie that was only available at sunset and after. These cookies are massive, so be prepared to share or take some home for later. Service was great! While in the long line, staff members would go down the line once in awhile to answer any questions people have. Inside Gideon's is so fun. A lot of unique drawings on the walls and very interesting decor that gives a little bit of Harry Potter vibes. Overall, Gideon's cookies are the perfect indulgence while exploring Disney Springs, the line is worth the wait to at least try once!

Yelp
We had a super short wait around 4pm, where the line was only about 15 minutes. I was always so excited to see the interior and was not disappointed. My wife and I loved the 'haunted bookstore' vibe and the staff was warm and welcoming. We had an assortment of cookies that were hearty and certainly should be split between two people. Surprisingly, the star of the show was the cold brew! My wife had the regular cold brew and I had the limited time offer of Cookies n' Cream cold brew. We both agree it was the best coffee we have had in a long time. Well done to Gideon's and their team!

Yelp
Delicious! Run don't walk. Out of this world and so fun for children. Enjoy a few bites and bring home. Outstanding iced coffee too.

Yelp
Tried it for the hype and because "you HAVE to have it once." So here's to having it once. And maybe again on another 4 year visit for us. The wait was estimated to be 25 minutes. We went on a late afternoon, Sunday around 4pm ish. The line was fast. I would send one person in unless you're curious of the indoor deco. The cookies were meh in my opinion. If you're a chocolate chip lover then no issue there. But I'm not- it was overpowered by chocolate chips and the flavor was alright. Our favorite was the limited edition strawberry something. The golden oreo cake... this is why my review is only 3 stars. The size is HUGE! And looks so scrumptious. So we got a slice for my mom's birthday. Come to eat it... very very disappointed. It was bland. No flavor. Not even a hint of vanilla. I didn't get a cookie flavor or crème flavor to represent the oreo itself. I was really disappointed. BUT- it is worth to say I tried it. ‍
