"A newly revitalized venue is hosting a Saturday pop-up dinner series by Chef Jake Hernatski featuring a four-course prix fixe for $90 with 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. seatings; sample plates include fried mussels with Pernod sabayon, pan-roasted skate with zucchini and anchovy butter, and blueberry pie with sweet corn ice cream as part of a rotating menu through November." - Nathan Tavares

Great little spot. The place itself is a bit small but what else would you expect, it's part of the charm. Very cool little gifts and things to buy. Has a small museum in one of the rooms. They sell some very yummy fruits and jams. The pies are amazing. Home made and delicious. Easy to find, not sure why others can't, must be a personal issue navigating a map.

The pies are amazing, especially for only $8.50. But they close for lunch and some of the items are ridiculously expensive, like $54 for a wooden spoon. There are picnic tables right outside to sit and eat or the picnic area just before the homestead.

They have some vegan pie options and sell unique locally made goods! This place is a must stop if you’re at Capital Reef National Park!

We like most people, stopped in here for the pies, and was it worth the stop, they were amazing and well worth the $8,there are shaded parks around the house, so you can sit and enjoy you plunder with a light breeze comforting you as you rest after you day of hiking and sightseeing.

It's suggested to arrive early ish to get a pie, locals said by noon latest. The first day we came we arrived at 1 and all the Gifford house was closed. The second day we arrived and there was vanilla and chocolate ice cream. Pies: peach, strawberry rhubarb, mixed berry crumble, apple crumble. The pies and ice cream were very good!

A place to get local homemade pies. It may run out of stock by the afternoon. Pie goes well with its vanilla icecream.

Gifford Homestead has many local items and delicious pie! We stopped in after a 6 mile hike and it hit the stop! The workers inside said that they make around 35 dozen pies a day and sell out between 2-3pm. We had the cherry, apple, peach, and strawberry rhubarb pies and they were all soo good! Must stop in when at Capital Reef National Park!

I didn't know that Capital Reef even existed so before giving time to it on the Red Rock park loop, I looked into what it had to offer. The orchard and pies from Fruita were exciting to me so I made an effort to get there before they sold out. What to note, the staff takes a lunch break so on our particular day they were gone from 12-12:45. They hadn't run out of pies thankfully. We bought a strawberry rhubarb and a cup of homemade vanilla ice cream. Then waited in line (very fast moving) to buy a second pie because when in Fruita, get all the flavors. I also want to note that pies are not the only treasure there. The little homestead has all sorts of jams and sauces. Very reasonably priced and delicious. Lastly, the orchard picking wasn't an option because frost killed the fruit but we were very happy with the pie part of the adventure and Capital Reef is now one of my favorite parks.
