Gilberts is definitely not what it used to be. The service was terrible, with one older lady at the register that takes for ever. I decided to stop by today as I hadn't been there in years. I bought 3 croquetas and 3 pastelitos. when eating my croqueta, I bit into something hard and pulled out of my mouth a wrapped up plastic. Seems they rolled the croquetas with platic wrapping. Ugh. No more, thank you.

I used to love Gilbert’s Bakery when it first opened; it had such a great reputation and amazing food. I hadn't been there in years, so I was excited to stop by today and picked up a variety of items. Unfortunately, I was really disappointed with the quality. The only thing that stood out in a good way was the chicken empanada. Everything else was mediocre at best. The croquetas were overpriced and not tasty, the pastelitos de guayaba had a strange flavor and just weren't good, and the sandwiches were bland. The carne fría, in particular, seemed old and not fresh. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, and it’s clear that the quality has gone down over the years. Any Cuban bakery in Miami can provide better and tastier items at a better price.

Today I bought some chicken menezier at your bakery on Bird Road and I was appalled when I saw the pastelitos and had my first bite. The quality of the product is horrible and so is the chicken filling. Gilbert’s has always been known for the high quality of the products but it is a shame that is not anymore. I have been a customer for years and I am very disappointed.

Among the worst empanadas I’ve had. Croquetas were embarrassing. Small menu, refused to make an iced coffee, overpriced. Don’t recommended. This is a picture of the beef empanada, does it look appetizing ?

Their food is typically pretty good, but their service has always sucked. But today was a new low. I walked in and one lady was gabbing on the phone, and the other woman was staring into space. Nobody even said hello, to me or how can I help you? So I walked out and I don't think that they even noticed or cared. Their service is terrible, and I can tell that they are not the owners.

I've been a customer for several years, but I've had it. Their prices doubled and their portions have gotten significantly smaller. Look at this pic. The guava pastel on the left is from Vickys Bakery and the one on the right is Gilberts. Are you kidding me??? No more; I'm done!

We used Gilbert's catering and they did a phenomal job not just with delicious food but with setting up and displaying in theme. Would definitely use them again!
