Upscale sports lounge with TV wall, rooftop, and diverse menu

"The Rooftop is the upper level of Gilly’s Clubhouse with access through the elevator or staircase inside the restaurant. The glass-ceilinged patio has retractable doors that lead to a rooftop terrace with views that overlook busy Woodward. A menu of tacos and tequila is available, which differs from the sports bar below." - Courtney Burk

"This ambitious “clubhouse” bar section is situated in the 14,000-square-foot Kay Baum Building near Grand Circus Park. Occupying the ground floor and a mezzanine level with a rooftop area that faces Woodward, the center of this sprawling space is its 120-square-foot TV wall. The menu is divided into sections: “Behaving” and “Misbehaving,” with game day comforts like burgers, wings, and fries highlighted on one side, and vegan dishes, smoothies, bone broth, and other lighter fare on the other side. On the lower level is Saksey’s, a 1,000-square-foot space that visitors access through a private alleyway entrance, where customers can order table-side mixology service and from a cocktail menu." - Serena Maria Daniels

"As part of the pre-NFL Draft business boom, Gilly’s Clubhouse & Rooftop bar opened up in April 2024. The massive 10,000 square foot space might’ve proved a challenge but Dan Gilbert’s team made it work, dedicating the sports bar to the Quicken Loans cofounder’s son Nick, who passed away in May 2023. The sports bar was Nick’s long-held dream, and guests can now share in his love of Spartan basketball and Detroit-inspired drinks, like the Motown Señorita margarita, while watching games on the giant screen with a custom wood-paneled backdrop." - Mickey Lyons

"A large, game-focused sports bar with ties to Dan Gilbert occupying the Kay Baum Building’s ground floor and mezzanine, featuring a prominent TV wall, rooftop access facing Woodward, and a menu of classic game-day comfort foods—burgers, wings, fries—alongside vegan options, smoothies and bone broth; a subterranean cocktail bar and a rooftop lounge are planned to follow the main opening." - Serena Maria Daniels
