The Spots Of The Summer, Dallas Edition - Dallas - The Infatuation

"Hide from the sun at Ginger’s, a dark and moody underground cocktail bar with great drinks and absolutely no natural light. Cool down and get a little weird with drinks like the Fromage Noir, made with goat cheese-washed gin, and contemplate your next move—maybe dinner at the attached Sushi | Bar, or steak at Brass Ram next door. They’re both air-conditioned too." - kevin gray

The 12 Hottest New Cocktail Bars in DFW

"This little spot Downtown pairs with the newly opened Sushi Bar. It’s about glam surroundings and classic cocktails most bartenters should be able to make that aren’t necessarily in regular rotation on menus — think the Paper Plane, Vieux Carre, and Jungle Bird. It also offers some options for low alcohol and zero proof cocktails." - Courtney E. Smith

The cocktails were delicious. You do have to make a line to get in, but its normal everywhere now a days. Also, since the place is very intimate and small, I definitely understand. The security guard was presentable as well as the staff. Try to uber because parking is a difficult.

This spot was a VIBE.. these hand crafted cocktails were everything. The atmosphere was super cute... my drink (pictured) was the Diamond in the Rough- Pro tip* ask the bartender to make his favorite drink and be surprised- I was not disappointed. The ladies I was with-- had a cristalino margarita, she said it was good, another had the pornstar martini, and another had the espresso martini.. Everything was good, now we only came for the drinks, before a dinner reservation somewhere else... But I would definitely come back!

I had an absolutely fantastic experience at Jack and Ginger’s in Austin, and it was all thanks to the incredible bartender, Ryann! From the moment I sat down, Ryann’s warm smile and vibrant energy made me feel right at home. She’s a true pro behind the bar—whipping up creative, perfectly balanced cocktails with a flair that’s both impressive and effortless. I tried her signature margarita, and it was hands-down the best I’ve had in Austin, with just the right kick of spice and a refreshing twist. Ryann’s knowledge of the drink menu is unmatched, and she took the time to recommend options based on my tastes, even suggesting a few off-menu creations that were pure genius. Beyond her mixology skills, she’s an absolute delight to chat with—engaging, witty, and genuinely interested in making sure every guest has a great time. She kept the vibe lively yet relaxed, seamlessly juggling a busy bar while making everyone feel like a VIP. Jack and Ginger’s is lucky to have Ryann, and she’s the reason I’ll be back ASAP. If you’re in Austin, do yourself a favor and grab a drink from her—you won’t be disappointed! Five stars all the way!

Google
My favorite cocktail bar! The bartenders are true mixologists. The service is always great and personable. They have a DJ on Sundays. As a non-whiskey drinker, I tried Diamond in the rough and it’s now my favorite cocktail on the menu.

This is gonna be one of those reviews that’s will begin with, “if I could do zero stars I would”. It is 2025, if you want to have an establishment that wants to enforce a dress code, I’m sure you’re more than capable of having the dress code on the website. Saying, “GINGER’S MAINTAINS A DRESS CODE TO ENSURE A STYLISH AND COMFORTABLE ATMOSPHERE FOR ALL GUESTS. PLEASE GIVE US A CALL FOR FULL DETAILS ON OUR CURRENT DRESS CODE GUIDELINES.”, but yet not answering the phone…. The math isn’t necessary mathing. Now the gentleman at the front door was extremely apologetic, however the woman holding the clipboard at the velvet ropes with a non-existent line, said noting. but let’s be frank, this is Dallas, this is Texas, it pretty much an never ending summer until pretty much February, when Elsa visits. That being said we shall have to find another cocktail bat that can hold a candle to Tina’s Continental. Until then, the hunt for the quintessential Dallas cocktail bar continues…

Google
Very cool vibe and the music seems to be more of the neo soul, classic soul, and old school hip hop at least on the night we went. Place was a lot smaller than what we thought from other pics. Be prepared to stand for hours unless you're getting there crazy early. Almost seems better for 4 or more so you can get a larger booth. Entire staff was on point.

Google
Ginger’s is the coziest speakeasy I’ve been to, there’s no huge fuss for entry, the waiters and bartenders are super cool and helpful with their cocktail recommendations. The vibe is very neat. It’s a very good mixed crowd. It’s not a huge spot, I’ll say maybe 50 people can fit before it gets uncomfortable. I’ll definitely be going there again

Google
Atmosphere 8/10 Nice atmosphere - I’d call it a fancy basement lounge. Typical Dallas bar setting where people stand in crowds around the bar. Makes it more lively but less private. Drinks 7.5/10 Relatively small cocktail menu. Decent signature cocktails. Unique cool looking coasters. Classic glassware. Service 7/10 Staff was very friendly. However, the concept of people crowding the bar makes it difficult to get drinks for those who don’t sit. I would have preferred a waitlist over standing in second row. Prices are moderate for Dallas. Positive: no automatic gratuity

Yelp
Gorgeous bar. Would be perfect for a date! Amazing classic and original cocktails. Slightly overpriced but not ridiculous.

Yelp
Beautiful place- Terrible service! Celebrating a friend birthday, came down the stairs to literal STARES! It was awk and uncomfortable because there was no host or hostess to greet anyone- the mysterious man at the door let us in- cools yes, speakeasy vibes- but nobody was speaking- we literally stood in the dark corner for about 15 minutes until I finally made my way to the side of the bar where a woman who tried to avoid eye contact with me was resting her chin in her palm- she could not be bothered to look up at me- when I said "hello, I was just wondering how we go about getting no a table, please?" She then gruffly ask "well, how many of you, are there? I responded with 4, I then mentioned that my friend tried to make a reservation but looks like he couldn't but the tables say reserve- hmmmm. She said " you can sit at that one table but not the other" dang, diss. Ok. We sat down and waited, waited and waited some more- pretty bad service. Gingerly wanted to love this place- but it was Ginger Stale for me.

Yelp
Such a vibe. Calm and classy. Perfect for a date or girls night. Limited parking. In sort of down town area but the bouncer outside makes you feel real safe. About $20 a drink, they were worth it.

Yelp
Out with my girls for a birthday celebration, we visited several downtown spots. Since it was later in the evening, everywhere was crowded. We eventually stumbled upon a beautiful place called Gingers. Though it was crowded as well, we were immediately impressed upon entering. Walking downstairs, we found a space with wonderful ambiance, beautiful lighting, and carefully selected furniture and appliances that looked amazing. I will definitely return when it's not so busy so I can sit down and fully enjoy the environment.

Yelp
I like Ginger's. It's very romantic actually, but there's also a "bar" feel to it, if that makes sense. I wouldn't classify it as a speakeasy, but it's about as close to that as you can get. The only con I have is that the cocktail menu is limited. Besides that, great cocktail bar option.

Yelp
I really enjoyed myself here at gingers, it was a last minute on the whim get together to celebrate a friends promotion, and it was such a beautiful place to go starting from the Amond to the great mixologists that they have there! I only ordered a friend 75, which was really good, and enjoyed the dark, intimate light setting at this place has. When my order was taken for my drink, it was very detailed, and was very attentiv.

Yelp
This is such a cute intimate bar. I came after my birthday dinner for a drink. I got the espresso martini which was super delicious. I love the ambiance and vibes inside. Service was a bit slow as only one person was working Wednesday night. But I would definitely come back for another drink!

Yelp
We went on a Sunday night so it wasn't completely packed. This place recently opened and is likely to get popular fast! It's a very low-key, speakeasy style cocktail bar. We enjoyed the old-fashioned and Desert Moon cocktails. They offer house cocktails, signature cocktails, as well as an extensive spirits list. They even have mock tails for those that don't prefer alcohol. Highly recommend stopping by soon, as this place will get popular quick.

Yelp
walked in around 11:15am and sat down. Once sat was told the bar was closed even though folks were hanging out. Do yourself a favor and go to the speak easy bar at the Sheraton Hotel.

Yelp
Great bar! The drinks were amazing and the atmosphere. This is a Dallas Gem! Please protect it at all cost!

Yelp
Amanda was an amazing and attentive server! Even though it was packed we had great service like we were the only ones in there. The music was great and created a vibe. The bartenders (two younger Black gentlemen, I didn't get their names) made delicious drinks. This is a must do in Dallas!!

Yelp
I recommend Ginger's and on the face of the space they have, Ginger's has mad potential! When I was actually able to order a cocktail, the cocktail received was well done! The challenge I face in giving Ginger's the best rating is a challenge I face with many restaurants. I think proper training is missing. With such a small footprint and the number of personnel on hand, one would think service would be exceptional . But Ginger's seems to lack organization and as a result in my opinion they are missing the mark with service, eventually killing business. Right now they are hot and probably experiencing the hum of being the new kid. If they want staying power, they need to make sure the repeat customer is taken care of!

Yelp
Great atmosphere and super friendly staff! I wished it the location stayed open later. But definitely a nice ambiance.
