The 19 Best Gay & LGBTQ+ Bars In SF - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Ginger’s is the Financial District’s only gay bar—and really, the only bar in the area like it. Come for drinks and a round of pool, and you'll probably end up singing a ballad or making a new friend (or beyond) inside the photobooth. Unlike other gay bars in the city, Ginger’s is never too crowded, so keep it mind when you want some time alone or are in the mood for a low-key night out. Check their Instagram for drag shows, food pop-ups, and other events." - ricky rodriguez, peter astrid kane, patrick wong

There’s a little something for everyone at Ginger’s - Review - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"The Financial District is lucky to have Ginger’s. Not only is it the only gay bar in the neighborhood, it's the only bar in the area where you can stop by for a watermelon gimlet, play a round of pool, and then gather up the courage to sing a ballad in front of a crowd. The roomy photobooth has hosted the beginnings of at least a few new friendships, and everyone looks good (or equally bad) under the bar's neon lights. Ginger’s, unlike the bars and clubs in the Castro, is usually not crowded, so it’s a great pick for a solitary drink or when you need a quieter night out with a group of friendly strangers. Be sure to check out their Instagram for updates on events like drag shows, food pop-ups, and other reasons to stick around the area once the offices let out." - Patrick Wong

The Best Restaurants and Bars in the Financial District in San Francisco | Eater SF

"Ginger’s was a long-running LGBTQ bar in the Financial District that closed down in the pandemic shutdowns in March 2020. Fast forward to 2024, when a general manager with the Future Bars team proposed bringing the FiDi queer space back in time for Pride 2024. The gamble paid off, and Ginger’s is now fully reopened and featuring fun events on the weekends for customers." - Dianne de Guzman

14 Best New Bars to Try in San Francisco Right Now

"Ginger’s is a favorite queer bar in the Financial District that’s served as a local, post-work drinking spot. Despite a closure in 2008 that eventually led to a move and resurrection in 2017, this beloved bar closed again at the onset of the pandemic in 2020. Ginger’s eventually launched a comeback in June 2024, just in time for the city’s Pride festivities. Future Bars, the team behind Bourbon and Branch and Dawn Club among others, is behind the cocktail program so expect solid drinks such as the Queen Bee, which features tequila mixed with passionfruit, peach, vanilla, and a touch of habanero tincture. The bar also hosts various events, such as karaoke and drag shows, which means one more reason to go." - Dianne de Guzman, Eater Staff

San Francisco’s New Restaurant Openings

"Re-opening in time for this past Pride weekend, Ginger’s is one of FiDi’s last queer bars, and it has returned with a bang. The theatrical interior remains the same, but now they’ve got a substantial cocktail menu with drinks dedicated to queer icons like the Gina’s Diamonds, named for a well-known performer at The Stud and Oasis, and a drink named after the Sisters Of Perpetual Indulgence. They’re currently only open for drag shows and pre-scheduled parties, but they should announce regular operating hours on their Instagram, soon. " - ricky rodriguez
