A family‑run staple since the 1970s, known for late hours, generous toppings, and that throwback Eastown vibe. Praised by Grand Rapids Magazine for its enduring neighborhood appeal and value.

Best Pizza in Grand Rapids (2025)
Gino's Pizza

Tiger L.

Google
Found this pizza place for a late night bite coming from the airport. Its so good! We just had a 12inch cheese pizza and it was awesome. Thin crust with phenomenal sauce and lots of 🧀. Worth stopping by. So glad we got to try it. =] keep up the good stuff!

Matt F.

Google
It was late, and I was standing under the awning to get out of the rain while waiting for an Uber. I figured while I was there I'd better get something to absorb the 1000 beers I had earlier. Staff was really friendly, joint was clean, quick service, and the pizza was awesome. Glad I stumbled down that road, definitely saved me from a lethal hangover.

Carmen S.

Google
What a wonderful place! The owner was so nice and gave us the history of the store and his family I will definitely go again! Felt more like dinner with family than a restaurant

Jesse H.

Google
Out of town guest here, ordered multiple items and found the Bread sticks were great. Sometimes less is more: crust was above average however too much sugar in the sauce and way too much , toppings were good, cheese was good, but man… don’t ruin a good thing by covering the the crust with too much. I should have ordered the nonnie without tomato sauce

Brandon S.

Google
Honestly, I feel like it was a cheese pizza and then they just threw the toppings on after it was done and reheated it but the subs are 🔥🔥

Matthew S.

Google
I wanted a BLT pizza and this was the only place around that I could find it on the menu, I spoke with the owner when ordering and he was so accommodating and kind, they made me one of the best BLT pizzas I’ve had, highly recommend Gino’s especially if you appreciate real authentic pizza dough!

Zach C.

Google
I stopped by this place to grab a late-night snack for my wife and me. The person I spoke with over the phone was friendly and helpful during the ordering process, which I appreciated. However, when I arrived, I stood waiting for about 10 minutes while one of the employees continued chatting with other customers before even acknowledging me for pickup. Meanwhile, the cook—rather than focusing on food prep—was distracted and openly flirting with people behind me. Unfortunately, the pizza itself was disappointing. It appeared undercooked and doughy, and several of the toppings had fallen off and were stuck to the side of the box. The overall experience felt unprofessional and careless.

Google
I did a little research on pizza places fairly close to the hotel and decided on Gino's because of the reviews. It's a carry out shop with a couple of places to sit, but nothing fancy or extravagant. All that aside, you're dealing with a place that has been a family owned business for 53+ years. I met the owner who is the little kid in the logo from when this joint was operated by his parents. He's a wonderful, friendly guy who takes pride in what he's doing. He told me he worked all day in the yard and still got in the shop to make what I have to say is one of the best strombolis I've had anywhere. Please do yourself a favor and order from Gino's and maybe talk to the staff. You won't be sorry!

Yelp
The service was great -- I believe the owners were there working on a Saturday night & they were very kind. The pizza was a 10/10 if you like it thin and crispy.

Taylor R.

Yelp
Best pizza in Grand Rapids. Service is always great and the owners are very personable. The sauce is on point with some of the best flavor I've ever tasted.
google avatar

Alyssa H.

Yelp
5 star pizza every time. Friendliest crew ever. Whether it's 6 PM or 12 AM they never disappoint. All of the yesss.

Yelp
This review is way past due. Two years ago my dad was sick and in Butterworth Hospital and my mom ordered a delicious pizza that I kept thinking about. Fast forward to the past 2 weeks. My dad is very sick again and my mom and I ordered a sausage pizza with extra cheese and the owner actually delivered our pizza to the hospitality house we were staying at. He was concerned that the delivery time would be too long if he didn't personally bring it to us. Such amazing service! Three nights ago when my husband and son drove up to MI to visit my dad we picked up a pizza. They were so kind when we picked up the pizza. My husband and son agree with my mom and me that this is amazing crave worthy pizza. Tonight my mom and I ordered another pizza. I had promised to meet the driver downstairs and outside of the Renucci House. I got sidetracked with laundry and left my phone in our room and missed multiple calls letting me know the pizza was here. 10 minutes after their first call I finally answered. They were standing in the lobby patiently waiting for me on a busy Saturday night. Extremely tasty pizza and amazing customer service from people who care. That is always important but when you are going through something very tough it means the world!
google avatar

Jon E.

Yelp
Very tasty pizza, love that they still use a throwback pizza oven! Service is always friendly and fast. The ambiance is of a typical take out pizza place but is nice as it feels like a throwback pizza parlor! Recommend the breadsticks and cheese pizza!

Yelp
Hands down the best old school NY style pizza in GR. Best sauce I've found since moving here. Great cheese / sauce / topping ratio. Stellar dough. Product is consistent - never a bad pie. Talking to the owner the other day and going out they've got 4 generations at the same place, and it shows. This is a family that has dedicated themselves to pizza. Mine gets food here every week. Would highly recommend.

Stephen S.

Yelp
By far the best pizza that I have ever had. Idk how they do it but it really is the best tasting pizza that I have ever had. The service is always good too, they always have been kind and nice to me.
google avatar

Caden C.

Yelp
Soooo yummy. The pizza was so good and the sauce soo good. I could 5 large pizzas so fast
google avatar

Dean M.

Yelp
They have an awesome carry out special every day for a Large, ask about it! They always take great care of me. You can get gigantic pizzas too!
google avatar

Eric S.

Yelp
Best pizza in East town, great hours, great service and locally owned!! Family that owns it are awesome people, too!
google avatar

Natalie B.

Yelp
Don't let any bad reviews steer you- this is the BEST pizza in GR! Thin but not soggy crust, a subtle sweetness in the sauce and the perfect amount of bubbly cheese on top. Consistent, affordable, delicious! Our go to always.

Nolan M.

Yelp
I have tried at-least 10 pizza spots nearby, and I must say that this is the BEST pizza in Grand Rapids. If you are anywhere near Gino's it is a MUST TRY! I order the large 1 topping carryout deal weekly. Always consistent and a great thin pizza.
google avatar

Rebeca F.

Yelp
The best pizza in Grand Rapids. Simple and delicious. I order my pizza with no sauce then I get a side of sauce and dip it! I have not tried anything else there except the pepperoni.
google avatar

Jessica N.

Yelp
Lived in the neighborhood for 1 year and it is a shame I am just now discovering this place. I missed out on one year of za deliciousness. This is the perfect late night pizza. We got the Hawaiian pizza and I would recommend 10/10. I can't wait to gain the many pizza pounds as I celebrate more delicious pizza in my future. Cheers to Gino's and cheers to your mom and pop for starting this fabulous hole in the wall some 50 years ago.

Duncan B.

Yelp
The service at Gino's is impeccable, not to mention the food is to die for. This place is a must go if you are in the area

Maddie D.

Yelp
I LOVE GINO'S !!! As others have said, best pizza in GR. Been trying as many places in the area as I can over the past year -- nothing can beat Gino's. Now, stop scrolling through all the options/reviews & ORDER A PIZZA.

Caroline F.

Yelp
BEST. PIZZA. IN. GRAND. RAPIDS. Sauce crust cheese toppings everything about this pizza is pizza is God tier. If you live and gr and are getting you pizza from anywhere else you're wrong.

It Is W.

Yelp
I would eat at the Pizzeria across the street before Gino's!!! They want even allow you to add diff items to a sub never heard of a pizza place doing that, and chicken taste old!! Only eat here if it's 12:00 PM or later and nothing else is open
google avatar

Joshua E.

Yelp
Super nice family business. Better than the pizza shop across the street from it. You get your money's worth.

Trisha P.

Yelp
Gino's is really good. Honestly, it's probably the best pizza in gr. We ordered delivery and it came in about 30 mins and was super hot, right out of the oven.

Colin B.

Yelp
First time trying Gino's tonight, and kept it simple (pepperoni and cheese), as requested by our four year old. Delivery timing was as expected, 45 mins, and it arrived fresh out of the oven. This pizza exceeded our expectations. The sauce was bright without being acidic, and full of fresh tomato flavor. The crust was light on the mid-pan, nicely crisp to support the sauce and toppings, with an enjoyable, slight char on the edges. Excellent pizza, this is our new go-to.

JJ G.

Yelp
Best pizza in Easttown! and I love supporting this family business. We get the plain cheese pizza and dear lord! they are just the best! something about the delicious crust along with the sauce and melted cheese makes their Za simply the best. if I had to pick one pizza joint to live on an island with me, it'd be Gino's The chain pizza places surrounding Gino's just do not compare.
google avatar

Tony P.

Yelp
Great hours, good quality ingredients, an owner that strikes up conversation to welcome former Chicagoans. All of this equates to some really good pizza, even for folx from a place where it's hard to please with a thin slice.
google avatar

Amy B.

Yelp
Ok. Listen up east coast transplants. We have been searching GR for weeks looking for real New York style pizza. Thankfully, we have landed on a place! The sauce is slightly spicy and sweet, the cheese has depth, and the crust is thin and light and just a little chewy. We just tried the pepperoni pizza and we will definitely be going back to try other toppings! Thanks Gino's!
google avatar

Andrew S.

Yelp
Great thin crust pizza. I see mixed reviews here. I am guessing lots of folks here don't know what pizza should taste like. This is legit. I am from Chicago, where places like this are everywhere. Here in GR, Gino's is easily my fav.
google avatar

Bradley S.

Yelp
Im going to admit that the East Town location, the West Side location and the Saranac location are all such a staple in each community there in. Thank You for being open and offering no contact delivery during this crazy crazy times. Not only at each location is the food dynamite, but the family atmosphere and the employees are accommodating and so friendly. Dont ever change and keep up the great work.

Mia B.

Yelp
Can't say enough good things about this place! We love family owned businesses and previously lived on Wealthy St. about a block away from Gino's and since moving this is 100% the thing we miss the most. The pizza is delicious! We have tried different kinds and loved every one, but any kind of spicy pizza is typically our go to favorite. Since moving across the city we are always having pizza night to make sure we can get back there once every week or two to stop in. Staff couldn't be any nicer and the pizza is by far the best in the city!

Ben Was H.

Yelp
Amazing food but the hours have changed to favor dinner time. Whenever I usually crave Geno's is during lunchtime but it is an understandable predicament on their part.

Danielle B.

Yelp
Best sauce I've ever had on a pizza anywhere. Even the most highly acclaimed pizzas I've tried never compare. To top it off, Gino's is a small family run business that's been in operation for 40 or 50 years. Over all great pizza, great place.

Sydney B.

Yelp
Terrible service from the lady on the phone when I went to order food. Ended up hanging up I refuse to give them my business after this. It's a shame because I'm a regular and love the food. 3/26/21 10:15pm

Matt S.

Yelp
I ordered the meatball sub and it was really good! Meatballs are sliced, bread is crispy, and cheese gooey. For $7.75 you get about 14" of sub. The couple that runs the place is friendly too. I will definitely be back to try the pizza.
google avatar

Michael Z.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I both call this place the best pizza in town. The sauce Is out of this world, the owner is a genuinely nice person, and the pizza itself is insanely good. They're also open super late on Sunday's, which is always good. I've never been disappointed by Gino's, which gives you a lot of bang for your buck. Even simple pizzas like pepperoni or ham and pineapple are better than a lot of other local pizza places I've tried, with a very generous portion of fresh toppings. Whether you're looking for a late night snack, or some of the best pizza in town, look no further!
google avatar

Suzy M.

Yelp
Not very good. That pretty much sums it up. We ordered a thin crust Canadian pizza and got a thick to traditional crust with nearly flavorless pizza sauce. Truly disappointing. It had an odd, almost sweet flavor, what little flavor there was. And the cheese. Ugh. Unfortunately, it didn't take long for the cheese to go from hot and stringy, to a basic solid piece of glob. While the delivery was speedy and friendly, I won't be giving this place a do over.

Olivia C.

Yelp
SO HELPFUL! I called to order and had some questions about how they prepare the pizza because someone in my party has allergies to gluten. The first person who answered was honest about being unsure and handed the phone to the owner to make sure I got the correct answers. Also if you have a gluten allergy THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO! They are extremely careful about cross contamination and make sure to communicate to you their process. My new go-to pizza place in GR.
google avatar

Aaron S.

Yelp
Poorly executed effort here. This could be a great mom and pop place, but they've lost their way with the pizza. Flavorless crust, oddly sweet sauce, and toppings that slide off the crust with the first bite.
google avatar

Sean M.

Yelp
Totally decent, standard GR Mom & Pop pizza shop. Three stars might be generous cause it's hit or miss. But I understand where the rave reviews come from. Many wannabe scenesters and college kids come out of the East Town bars all bleary-eyed and sweat-faced, drunk on cheap bottled beer, cheap vodka, and theses folks need something to keep them from dry heaving on their walk home or back to their dorms. Pizza makes people, especially drunk sorts of people, so happy. So what if it's a forgettable slice of pizza? At 3am, that's all you could ever want. I'll be back.
google avatar

Zack E.

Yelp
This is the most disgusting order of wings I have ever seen. It is horrible. When I called to ask what happened the owner said he made them himself. He's not good at making wings. The pizza is a 3 out of 10. Overall this place is bad

Chelsie S.

Yelp
Maybe it's because I was hungry...Maybe it's because I was drunk... Either way, I thought Gino's was decent. The pizza sub I had was nice and hot with lots of ham, pepperoni, gooey cheese and pizza sauce for $5.
google avatar

Ryan N.

Yelp
I have been eating this Family's food for over 35 years. Seriously I crave their pizza. Its their own flavor. And is pretty darn consistent and really affordable. They are family owned and operated..... Really nice people. They have been doing this for years...I cant begin to tell u how many hours and quarters I spent as a kid in here playing Galaga and Centipede and walking home with a meatball sub or a pie. For me I always try and support the tried and true foundations of Eastown. Check em out!
google avatar

Karen D.

Yelp
I had a pizza delivered to my hotel room, while staying in Grand Rapids. We also got the jalapeno poppers and the mozzarella sticks. The only item we really enjoyed was the jalapeno poppers, which were perfect, and served with a perfect ranch-like dipping sauce. The crust was falling off the mozzarella sticks, so they were difficult to eat. And the pizza was just okay. It was not the New York style that I had been hoping for, based on other reviews here on Yelp. The crust was pretty good, but the cheese was very "clump-y", and the sauce was overly sweet. I wish we had gone with the "West-town" Gino's, because that branch seemed to have better reviews.
google avatar

Ric D.

Yelp
My "around the corner" pizza place, which I also enjoyed when I lived in the area in my college years (longer ago than I like to think!) The place has soul, the pizza and subs solid if not spectacular.

K K.

Yelp
Delicious pizza. Hand made, family owned and hand crafted from Sicily. There is no better from Grand Rapids MI.

Casey A.

Yelp
Absolutely the best! Gino's goes out of their way to make sure you always get the best service and pizza. Will continue to call Gino's for late night pizza anytime I am around GR area.

Allison B.

Yelp
We have ordered from Gino's for over 1 year because their pizza and service is always awesome. After tonight we have even another reason...the genuine people. We placed a delivery order. The owner delivered the pizza, upon realizing we had a 2 week old baby in the house, asked my wife if it was her first, said congratulations and gave her a fist bump. His genuine happiness for us showed right through on his face. He could not have been nicer and more excited for us. He shared a brief story of his family and kids and it was great. Great food even greater people, The Gino's team is special!
google avatar

Thomas M.

Yelp
We checked this place out on the recommendation of a coworker and we were not disappointed. This is a family owned no frills carry out or delivery pizza joint. Our 18" pie was loaded with toppings. The ingredients (crust/sauce/toppings) were fresh and delicious; made with love. Try it out for yourself. Lots of yummy pizza for your hard earned dollar. Looking forward to trying a sub soon.
google avatar

Clint M.

Yelp
This is the worst pizza in Grand Rapids (maybe Michigan)!! I've drove by it plenty of times and finally thought I'd give it a try. It looks more like a Mom & Pop pizza place that could be a good kept secret...wrong. The prices are higher like a gourmet pizza joint ($10 for a small 2 topping) but the quality is horrible. The crust is thin and burnt on the edges...the toppings (blah) and cheese (blah) slid off every slice as you picked it up...and the sauce is completely tasteless. How does this place stay in business??

Brian S.

Yelp
Best pizza in town they need to open a Genos south so I don't have to drive 45 mins to get a pie
google avatar

Lilly A.

Yelp
Great pizza! I always go and it never fails. I haven't tried anything else on the menu though. The service is always fast and friendly. No complaints here.
google avatar

Christopher F.

Yelp
Great, authentic pizza pie. Mildly sweet sauce, flavorful crust with a nice crunch and thickness, fresh toppings all combine for the real deal, not like the chain shops. Fast, friendly service during a busy rush for them! I was impressed with the product and the service! I'll be back for more! Give them a try and I guarantee you'll be happy you spent a couple extra bucks to support a local biz! I'll definitely be back!!
