"Since 1968, Gino’s Pizza lingered beside Elmhurst’s busiest bus stop. Vegetarian was the way to go here, via a series of pies in a slightly smaller circumference, including an irresistible eggplant slice." - Robert Sietsema

"Since 1968, this quaint pizzeria has lingered beside Elmhurst’s busiest bus stop. Quaint because the limestone-faced walls and carriage lamps make it seem a bit like a village inside. Vegetarian is the way to go here, via a series of pies in a separate case of slightly smaller circumference, including an eggplant slice that looks to be almost a quarter of a pie — a bit more expensive than most slices, but also encompassing square inches of pizza territory." - Robert Sietsema

I use to come here as a kid but I totally forgot this place existed until a friend mentioned it recently. I haven't been here in over a decade! I ordered their garlic knots for this visit and I was very satisfied with the food and the service. It was pretty quiet when I went so service was quick. The garlic knots were crispy on the outside and chewy and dense in the middle. The garlic pieces on top tasted very fresh and strong. I have to come back for the pizza next time. One thing they could improve on is labeling the pizzas they have on display so customers don't have to ask what each one is called. I think this would be more efficient and make things quicker, as the names and prices are on the menu but not at the display.

10/10 recommend this place. The food was delicious and the prices were reasonable. I mean... how can you beat 5 warm buttery garlic knots for $2? 🤤

Wonderful, old-school NYC pizzeria with a welcoming feel. Variety of pies on thin & thick crusts (Sicilian, granny, etc) and some mean pepperoni rolls.
