The 37 Best Restaurants in St. Louis, Missouri

"In 2017, Gioia’s Deli, an unassuming sandwich shop in St. Louis’ historic Italian-American neighborhood, was honored with a James Beard America’s Classics award. While the dining community was thrilled, locals tended to smile and shake their heads at the fanfare suddenly heaped on the casual spot that had served their families for a hundred years. Gioia’s offers exceptional deli sandwiches, but it’s most famous for the hot salami sandwich, known to everyone in St. Louis simply as “the hot salami,” which is still made with a recipe crafted by founder Charlie Gioia. You can order it on any type of bread and dress it with any of Gioia’s cheeses and condiments, but the star is the sausage (beef, pig’s head, spices) sliced in front of you." - Holly Fann, Joel Crespo

Google
Ah-mazing! Do not pass this place up. The hot salami was incredible. This is a James Beard award winner. We got 2 hot salami rolls to take home with us. Ok. The spicy daggit, chefs kiss, he added lettuce and tomatoes to the original sandwich. Chefs kiss y'all. I got the Italian trio, and it was so good, I think next time, I'll also add lettuce and tomatoes. My son got the Porknado add lettuce and tomatoes for sure, and it's out of the park good. The service was great and pretty quick. It's really small inside but there's a park across the street. They also have tables outside. This is a very humble place inside, nothing fancy and prices were good. Highly recommend!

Google
Absolutely awesome neighborhood Itallian deli! Quaint. Great deli atmosphere. Fun. Fantastic and friendly service. The food was amazing!! The James Beard award winning original hot salami sandwich, topped the original way, so delicious!!! Just amazing!! Topped it off with great homemade potato salad, chips, and a Fitz's root beer (when in St. Louis!). Great time!! I highly recommend!!!

Google
Visiting STL and stopped in for lunch today and our sandwiches were the best my husband and I have ever eaten! Service was quick, food was fresh, the girl at the counter was so helpful with suggestions. We will be stopping back in for lunch before heading out of town!

Google
There is a reason this place has been around for over 100 years. Outrageously good sandwiches. Worth the visit. I regret not getting the largest size. The staff were extremely friendly - I asked what their top selling menu items were and she gave me three delicious sounding options. You really cannot go wrong. I even went back inside to compliment them for one of the best tasting sandwiches I've had. A must visit!

Google
Great place for an affordable family lunch. A park across the street for the kids and tasked inside and outside. No bathrooms so be warned. EXCELLENT chocolate chip cookies. The hot salami was great and the club was even better!

Shirley Jones

Google
So worth eating here! We ordered the original hot salami and the hot roast beef, which comes with an au jus. The bread is perfect and the combination of ingredients is just right.

Google
We're going to talk about Gioia's HOT SALAMI today! This special Salami was invented decades ago by the original owners and the team at Gioia's today is still offering-up some of the best sandwiches in the St. Louis area. Gioia's has lots of their meats frozen and ready to take home as well as a large supply of chips. Drinks are always fresh and the employees at the Hill location are always respectful and helpful. The hot salami is noteworthy and my bride loves their Italian Trio, which is always spot-on. It is worth making the trip to the Hill for the best sandwich in the Known Universe!

Keeton Nance

Google
Excellent sandwiches, great customer service. I got the Italian trio and opted for St. Louis style cheese per their recommendation and I’m glad I did to get a real taste of the city and the Hill. Grab a side order of jus for 50 cents. You won’t be disappointed!

Yelp
The hot salami sandwich at Gioia's Deli is a masterpiece of simplicity and flavor, deserving its spot as a St. Louis icon. Made with their signature house-made hot salami, the sandwich strikes the perfect balance between indulgence and comfort. The star of the show is, of course, the hot salami--a unique blend of pork and beef, sliced thick and packed with a rich, savory punch. It's slightly spicy, with just enough heat to keep your taste buds intrigued without overwhelming the palate. The salami is warm and juicy, with a tender texture that practically melts in your mouth. The bread, a fresh Italian roll, is the ideal vessel: sturdy enough to hold the fillings without falling apart, yet soft and chewy on the inside. Whether you choose to add Provel cheese, pepperoncini, or some of Gioia's signature house-made sauces, each option elevates the sandwich in its own way. Every bite is a harmony of flavors--spicy, smoky, tangy, and creamy (if you go with cheese). It's a sandwich that feels both nostalgic and elevated, a reminder of why Gioia's Deli has been a beloved institution for over a century. If you're in St. Louis and craving something iconic yet approachable, the hot salami sandwich is a must-try. It's a little taste of history, served fresh and unforgettable.

Yelp
I have been wanting to try Gioia's (pronouned Joyas) forever!! My family who lives in St. Louis said this place was fantastic and has a very popular hot salami sandwich. It is only open for lunch (10am-4pm) and can have lines out of the door. I decided to go earlier around 11am and there was still about 6 people in line ahead of us. You can order from someone at the front or use a kiosk. I wasn't too hungry so I opted for the Kids meatball sandwich on garlic cheese bread. It seems like the pro tip move to upgrade your bread to that for $2. The other person got the hot salami sandwich. You are able to dress both sandwiches up however you would like. The service was very friendly and quick. The meatball sub was really good. Toasty, crispy, flavorful and lots of melted cheese. I would absolutely go back. I really want to try their Chicken Salad as that I have heard is a crowd favorite! Overall experience 4/5.

Yelp
This location was on the corner where ordering was done at the counter. The process was smooth and efficient as the line moved quickly. They had lots of different types of sandwiches including a lot containing their famous hot salami. I went with a regular size of the spicy Daggett ($10). It came with hot salami, hot Coppa, and capicola with spicy giardiniera and toasted on garlic pepper cheese bread. This was done right. My only issue was the bread to filing ratio. I would have liked to see a little more meat present, but not a huge deal. The meats were all thin nicely and tasted great. The giardiniera brought it all together while the garlic pepper cheese bread was crunchy and held up with all the oils from the meats as well as the giardiniera. The bread was my favorite aspect due to the cheesy garlic flavor. Will I go back? I would.

Yelp
We stopped by this deli for a sandwich and it was definitely worth the trip! The store isn't very big, but it's cozy and offers a good selection of drinks like soda and water. They also have some tasty sides like potato salad, gluten-free sweets, and chips. The variety of dressings and fixings for the sandwiches made them even better. The staff was nice and friendly, not overly so, and the prices were fair for what you get. Overall, a great spot for a delicious sandwich!

Yelp
First time dining at this location, but I've enjoyed their sandwiches before. The location is a simple corner building in the middle of the neighborhood. They are wildly popular (with good reason!) and do a busy lunch business, but the wait isn't terrible-they've been around over 100 years. It's safe to say they know that they're doing! Today I enjoyed the Porknado sandwich on garlic cheese bread. Wow! Hot salami, ham and bacon with mozzarella cheese on garlic cheese bread. I added tomato, lettuce and oil/vinegar. It was divine! Their bread is so fresh and good, (from Fazio's Bakery) and is a great combination of crusty and chewy. I ordered the smaller size sandwich and it was plenty!! My daughter ordered the Italian Poor Boy on garlic cheese bread and it was delicious also. She doesn't always eat a lot, but took care of 80% of this. The crowd is a mix of ages and types of folks. Some appeared to be retirees, some blue collar workers, some looked like they were taking a break from the office. There are a couple of small tables and a few long high tables inside and some tables outside as well. This place is such a treat, it's a good thing I don't live closer!!

Yelp
If you are close to The Hill in St Louis, and want to try some Hot Salami...you NEED to come try out Gioia's Deli. No question this is one of those places you just need to come and experience for old school deli romance! Food is exceptional and service is wait in line and order with a few tables inside and a lot of tables outside.
google avatar

George D.

Yelp
I love this place. The best sandwiches in town. I'm a fan of the Hot Salami and the Italian Trio. The only draw back is the small seating capacity inside on hot days. But they have several outdoor tables under a large awning and on nice days it's great to go across the street and eat in the park
google avatar

Yelp
I went to Gioia's for the first time (finally) yesterday and it absolutely lives up to the hype!!! We walked in and ordered food at the front, taken to go. The employees were so kind and chatted to us while we ordered, providing really helpful feedback for making decisions. I got the hot salami on garlic bread with mozz, onions, giardiniera, and the horsey mayo. They also sell chips and some frozen items and I grabbed some St Louie Links to try later! The sandwich was incredible. The salami was perfect and I found the horsey mayo to be one of the best parts! You have to get the garlic bread, it's worth the extra $2! It was also a huge portion, so served perfectly for two meals. I cooked the sausage up later and it was okay - no spice level, despite red riplet seasoning, but still yummy! I cannot recommend it enough - if you haven't been yet, go!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Gioias Deli is a hill staple you can smell the garlic bread coming out of the door this has to be hands down one the best sandwiches that I've had in St Louis. The salami is in-house made the roast beef tender and flavorful the bread soft and crunchy all at the same time to make a perfect sub sandwich. The prices are pretty moderate so don't go in there and expect to spend under $10 on anything but it's well worth every dollar you'll spend you'll definitely be ready to go back for more. The restaurant is small and not a lot of seating inside but they did have seating outside across from the park. The service was friendly and quick they get you in and out so be prepared to order when you to the counter.

Yelp
So delicious. The bread is fresh and the meat is flavorful. Really loved the Italian Trio! Top three sandwich place in StL. Food came out quickly, plenty of seating. Always appreciate high chairs for our baby!
google avatar

Yelp
I stopped by for lunch and was greeted immediately when I came through the door. The woman helping at the register was super kind and helpful in navigating the menu. I ordered the Spicy Daggett with tomato, lettuce, pickle, black olives, and mayo on garlic bread. The food was absolutely incredible. A massive sandwich with excellent quality ingredients and flavor. I took my food outside and there was plenty of seating the shade at a picnic table. It was a great experience and I can't wait to go back!
google avatar

Gracie L.

Yelp
I can say with confidence that Gioia's Deli knows how to make a delicious sandwich! This place does the business, but service is always pretty speedy. Definitely try their famous Hot Salami Sandwich. I also love creating my own sandwich and selecting my bread, cheese, toppings, and condiments. They also offer a great chip selection! The Hill location doesn't have a ton of indoor seating options, but there's a few small tables and a counter by the window. There's a few tables outside as well. Most people seem to take their sandwiches to go. If you're craving a sandwich, this is the place to try!
google avatar

Bobby S.

Yelp
It is very possible that this might be the best single sandwich you will ever eat in St. Louis... maybe in your lifetime if you don't get out much... The bread is crisp on the outside, soft and has a chew and pull on the inside... the cheese, fresh salami, meat... everything is absolute perfection! The interior seating area is small and so try to avoid the crazy rushes... but a sandwich made with this excellence and love for food must be tried by everyone... mindblown!
google avatar

Joe K.

Yelp
Possibly the best sandwich you will ever have... Gioia's unquestionably lives up to the hype... They've been around for years and it's not hard to see why. The sandwiches are absolutely huge (a regular easily feeds two people, so know this ahead of time). Definitely recommend the hot salami on garlic cheese bread with Provel cheese and giardinera - You won't be disappointed. Added plus is very well priced... No customer price gauging at Gioia's, as a sandwich, chips, and drink is less than $20.

Heather S.

Yelp
We had the Hogfather and the Spicy Daggett- both sandwiches had a great combination of flavors.
google avatar

Helen C.

Yelp
I didn't know that salami can taste so good! The sandwiches here blew my mind. I got the salami and the beef sandwich with horseradish mayo and my husband got the big Italian sandwich with vinegar and oil dressing. The salami was so tender and was not one bit salty. It went surprisingly well with the roast beef and horseradish mayo. Everything was super fresh tasting and the portions were huge. It was nice that there were lots of street parking and outdoor seating. I never understood the fascination with Italian deli sandwiches but now that I I had the real deal, I totally understand what the fuss is all about. Totally recommend trying this place out on "the Hill" on your next visit to St. Louis.
google avatar

Luke H.

Yelp
This place is BUSY and for good reason... the food is fantastic! Located in the Italian district, this counter serve deli is perfect to satisfy your hunger. The staff answered all my questions and was friendly despite a heavy lunch rush. Seating inside is limited, so be prepared to eat at the park across the street Although I am not a huge fan of either salami or roast beef, it was the most popular item on the menu. It was soul warming! The hot meat on the fresh baked bread made this one of the highlight meals of my trip!
google avatar

Hannah M.

Yelp
Every time I come to Gioia's I think "why don't I come here more often" I can't really speak on any menu item other than the Hot Salami and Roast Beef sandwich. I get it every single time and it's so good I can't bring myself to try anything else (although I'm sure it's all amazing). I like to add lettuce, tomato and horsey Mayo, and obviously get it on garlic cheese bread. I love that you can pick whichever cheese you want (like a true St. Louis native I get STL style). For me the smaller size is plenty for a filling meal! They have a great selection of chips to pick from for sides, including Snoop Dogg rap snacks. If you haven't had them they're amazing, a perfect side to your sandwich. Their staff is always very friendly, and they keep the line moving quickly.

Yelp
Came as part of my 7,000 mile 30 city food trip research and recommendation from a buddy. The outside reminded me of my favorite hole in the wall Italian growing up in Pittsburgh and brought back nostalgia. Came for their famous hot Italian but after I ordered regretted not getting the steroids version that had a larger variety of meats on it. Staff was great. Quick service. Salami was tasty. The only part I was left wondering was if the mustard was the right choice. I appreciate them going outside the box but the profile screamed Italian dressing or Mayo to me. The cheesy garlic bread was a great touch but again, the mustard kind of overpowered it. I get the charcuterie vibe with the salami and what they were going for though
google avatar

Rebecca H.

Yelp
I ordered Hot Salami with Garlic Cheese Bread. The salami was thick and juicy. The garlic cheese bread was fresh and crispy. I have never ordered a sandwich here without garlic cheese bread so it is highly recommended and worth the extra cost. This place has one of the best sandwiches ever and can't go wrong with any of them. The seating inside is very limited but they do have an outdoor patio which is dog friendly.

Lisa F.

Yelp
I don't understand the hype about this hot salami award-winning sandwich. The salami isn't very flavorful. Cheese isn't either which means they're using low quality cheese. I've had dozens better sandwiches in my life. Recommend walking a couple blocks over to Eovaldi's for a more authentic and flavorful sandwich.
google avatar

Ken B.

Yelp
Wow, this might be one of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten. I ordered a Hogfather, it was unreal. I will be back again and again.
google avatar

Mimi K.

Yelp
Holy shit this place is good I got the hot salami, meaning warmed, not spicy St. Louis Style cheese (provolone) Wheat bread Classic onion, banana pepper, mustard So good
google avatar

Kassandra M.

Yelp
If you're looking for the best sandwich of your life, look no further. I've lived in St. Louis for almost 7 months now and finally just went to Gioia's for the first time and wow, what a loser (me). I had the Turkey sandwich and my best friend had the Italian and we also both got red hot riplets on the side (duh). Both sandwiches were absolutely unreal, fresh, fast, and so flavorful! There was a bit of a wait to order but of course a place so great can get very busy on a Saturday afternoon. I didn't interact with the staff other than ordering but the cashier was very nice and quick. The building itself is pretty cool, you definitely get that old school vibe being there and they have a great little patio for a nice day!
google avatar

Phil C.

Yelp
Hot salami was delicious as advertised. Service was friendly but did take around 15 minutes to order and get our food because it was somewhat busy due to it being lunchtime on a weekday. Limited seating inside with a handful of tables outside for eating. Nice looking park and playground just across the street if you have young children who might want to eat then play.

Jill W.

Yelp
Prior to COVID, Gioia's roast beef on garlic cheese bread was one of the best sandwiches in town. The quality has gone down significantly since then. I've given them multiple chances to change my mind over the past couple of years but today was a big disappointment. I won't be going back.
google avatar

Tonya J.

Yelp
Saw high reviews and had to check this sandwich shop out on the Hill in St. Louis. They make their own meat. Hot salami sandwich was very good. The bread had garlic butter added. Mine was toasted. There was little more mustard than I would liked but it was still delicious. It was packed. Service was quick. Food was cooked fresh to order. They have a take out window so you can order ahead. Street parking.
google avatar

Sam H.

Yelp
We used to go to the restaurant on the Hill but recently we noticed that they opened a new branch on 141, which is on our way home on Saturdays so if we want to wait to eat until we get there, the food is still warm. I love that they offer their sandwiches on Garlic bread or Garlic Cheese bread. All of their meats and cheeses are real and they offer many options to make your sandwiches unique, such as Gardinera, 4 bread choices, 6 or more cheeses, 2 mayos, 2 mustards etc. I wish they had a few more veggie options like maybe sweet peppers and/or artichoke hearts for their veggie sandwich, but it's still pretty dang good. The Hot Salami is a little different than what is normally thought of for salami but it's a Local food specific to this restaurant and it is premium. Reasonably priced for what costs are these days and the size of the sandwiches. Give them a try
google avatar

Ilesha S.

Yelp
What a great sandwich shop! Went on a Monday for lunch and it was so busy with people. The line moves quickly and there's lots of menus around so you can quickly come up with your order. The food tasted so good, and it pairs really well with Fritz soda. I loved how veggie friendly the sub was. Be sure to get it toasted! TLDR: great grab and go Italian deli!
google avatar

Vivienne C.

Yelp
Was excited to try Gioia's Deli as this is one of the St. Louis staples. Came on a weekday lunch and there was already quite a line although it does move fairly quickly which I appreciate. I also appreciate that people just come and go at the deli so seats actually open up fairly quickly. - Potato Salad - Could skip because it's pretty standard with large chunks of potato. I will say that this is a good grab and go option if you are extremely hungry and just need some food in your system while you wait for your sandwich to get ready. - Hot Salami - In general, I really appreciate how much customization you could do for your sandwich although I feel like for someone like me, I just get all the ingredients which makes all my sandwiches taste the same at the end of the day. I did really enjoy the hot salami as there were huge slices of it in the sandwich which went very well with the melty cheese. I also appreciate how many pickled items were in it from the banana peppers to the jalapeno as it cut down the fattiness of the salami. Next time, I will get less toppings so that I can taste the salami more. - Italian Trio - To be honest, I can't really tell the difference between this and the hot salami as I'm not sure the other meats made a huge difference to the sandwich. It was delicious nonetheless with the toasted bread which my friend says is what makes the sandwich, and I agree. Also, the sandwich is huge and is big enough where you could divide it into two separate meals. Overall, great sandwich although I have to put less things on my sandwich next time I go so that I can actually taste the difference between my ordered sandwiches. The bread was to die for! Will be back.

Yelp
This was my 1st time here and I have to say Jimmy John's Jersey. Mike's Subway watch out if they ever branched us out yellow go under in like 5 minutes great sandwiches great salami grade selection to everything the hot S. Alarming caso I'm gonna try it out this weekend. I'm gonna put the sausages on the grill and see how they are just by the looks of an incoming and eating a sandwich that I had. I also ordered to salad. I know that this place is the ultimate place to be
google avatar

Renee R.

Yelp
Went to Gioia's Deli for lunch today. We got there at around 12:15pm. There was a line upon arrival, but the line moved quickly and our food came out quickly. The establishment was clean and the employees were friendly. My fiancé got the Hogfather and I got the Italian Trio. My fiancé gave his sandwich a 7/10, but he thinks it would've been better if he would've chosen better toppings to go with the sandwich. I really enjoyed my sandwich and would give it a 9/10. I tried some of my fiancé's sandwich and would say that I liked the Italian Trio more than the Hogfather but both were good. The sandwiches' bread was delicious (garlic cheese bread). Overall a great lunch spot, and we would definitely return!
google avatar

Cindy C.

Yelp
Excited to take a friend who is a chef to sample the James Beard awarded sandwich...the original hot salami at the original location on the hill. VERY DISAPPOINTED. I have had this sandwich many times. The sandwich I had today would NEVER HAVE WON A JAMES BEARD AWARD.

Ally G.

Yelp
My family loves Gioia's Deli so much that every time my grandparents come from out of state we make a stop here. Authentic italian subs with homemade hot salami and melty provel (an STL classic!) on garlic bread. Their sandwiches are heavy (meaning worth every dollar too!) but they offer other deli meats and even salads if you don't want hot salami. Sometimes we order online and pick up at the side window just to beat the line inside. Employees are friendly and welcoming.
google avatar

Zion S.

Yelp
I got a little heart on the wrapper of my sandwich. I've been here about five times so I already knew what to expect! I brought my friend here for his first time under the knowledge of this place making "The best sandwich I've ever had" The Hot salami sandwiches are amazing made with the fresh homemade giardiniera When I came up to the counter the cashier politely ran me through the options for the sandwiches. It made me feel very welcome and informed They have two side tables( 4 seats each) one facing the street and (2) two-seaters Me and my friend enjoyed the busy environment where everyone's coming to get some good food while waiting on ours. After we got our sandwiches we enjoyed the beautiful view of the road and the park across the way Definitely coming back here

Mo L.

Yelp
My fiance and I have been RVing around the country all year and have had some pretty good food along the way. When I asked what his favorite meal from our travels has been, without a second's hesitation, he chose Gioia's. That's saying something.

Stephanie Z.

Yelp
I'm not really a deli person, but my boyfriend wanted to go. I can't really say I wouldn't recommend it. I'm sure the food is amazing!!
google avatar

Kimberly H.

Yelp
The food is consistently amazing. Love the one on the hill. Get the side salad, it's superior to most.
google avatar

Cody W.

Yelp
Gioia's is pronounced Joy-ya's "It's the Hot Salami," he said without hesitation and a bit of pride. "It won a James Beard Foundation award." Wow, I was impressed ...
google avatar

Eric B.

Yelp
This place is excellent. Went for the first time a few weeks back. Service was dialed in and speedy. Got the roast beef n provel. I was floored. Hands down best of its kind. They're known for the hot salami but, don't skip the beef! The Giardinera was on point. That bread. They don't skimp on portions either. I've always gotten the same sandwich order at Imo's and as much as I love Imo's, Gioia's is my new go to for this flavor. Order and eat outside on the patio and check out the fairytale neighborhood that is "the Hill". It's like a suburb or Jersey or an episode of the sopranos out there minus the rough stuff lol. I'm a forever fan. Cheers to over 100 years!

Yelp
I don't think I have to say that Gioias has some of the best sandwiches. We went to the Fenton location and although small it was a delicious lunch. If you are looking for a clean small lunch spot with delicious sandwiches, this is it.

Yelp
This was my first time stopping by the Hill location for Gioia's, and I was pleasantly surprised by the location and parking! I went on a Monday around noon, and although there was a line, it moved quickly and I was in and out in around ten minutes. There is street parking nearby which was pretty easy to find. The inside of the store isn't too big, but there are a few tables for seating. I ordered a regular sized hot salami sandwich, toasted with pepper jack and lots of toppings. The total came out to be around $13, but it was a very filling and large sandwich! I ate one half for lunch and saved the other half for dinner. I added giardiniera and pepperoncini, along with spicy mustard and sriracha mayo, so my sandwich was pretty spicy, but I really enjoyed it! We live right next to another location so I'll definitely be sure to stop by sometime and try some of the other sandwiches. I've heard that the hot salami and roast beef one is also really good!

Yelp
Great sandwich shop. My first time here. The Salami and Roast Beef was good. It was my in-flight meal back to SF. Just an FYI, I still like my Italian Dry Salami from San Francisco.

Yelp
I have been here a couple times and it never disappoints! There's a reason they've been around so long. Can't go wrong with their original hot salami sandwich. Great flavors and fresh ingredients. They have nice outdoor tables and staff is friendly!

Yelp
A go-to spot to take our out of town family. Right by the park - in the heart of The Hill. Order ahead to skip the lines! The salami sandwiches are amazing

Yelp
How can you NOT like this place? Their sandwiches are so good, the service is a well oiled machine so it moves quick, & there's ample seating inside and out yet doesn't feel cramped at all. Be aware during lunch hours it's packed with a big line (usually). It's 11am and there's already a line to the door inside

Yelp
Traveling from Charleston, SC to KC, MO is a long drive. We needed something to look forward to and knew The Hill is reputed to have some great Italian food. But we didn't want to lose much time so we decided to get our meal to go. There is a line, because it's really great food and a lot of people know about this little joint. Reviews almost always mention a fast moving line, but we just wanted to get home, so we ordered ahead. I walked right up to the pick up window and got our food. It worked out perfectly. In a nutshell, just say YES to the hot salami sandwich and olive salad. I mean, that's what they're known for and there is a reason for that. It was a huge, messy, sloppy, delicious sandwich which ended up being 3 meals for me. Some foods are not being eaten properly unless you have ingredients dropping everywhere and dressing running down your arm. Their sandwiches fall into that category. Enjoy it.

Yelp
What a tragedy Gioia's Deli on The Hill has become. Clearly it is no longer run by the first generation that remembered the blood, sweat and tears it took to create a class deli. The youngsters are running it and they think it is a toy, a cash cow, and social hour. They raised the price of one stinking sandwhich to $13 and the quantity of meat that used to be heaping, is comparatively paultry. NOTHING special anymore there. And the service is blah. The cashier seemed to take quick offense to the simpliest of questions as if it was a personal insult to this person. (Sorry, not sure what the proper pronoun is, please forgive me.). I just went to there website to see if they have other locations and the picture that is jammed at you at the beginning is a big fat lie. The sandwhich is nothing, nothing like the picture shown. I don't know about the sandwhichs at their other locations. But the one on The Hill... maybe an $8 cheap sandwhich, at best. Not $13 for crisssakes. Jimmy Johns Italian 8 inch sandwich is $7.75. Moms Special on Jamieson $9.00 LeGrands (multiple subs) on Donovan $10.50 (Gioias is maybe 9 inches at best.) No Mas.

Yelp
One of the best places on the Hill for sandwiches or salads. When I am in STL, I try to go... it's that good!
