Gio's Pizza and Restaurant

What a wonderful local family oriented pizza joint. Solid classic Italian food. The chicken parm was yummy, Sicilian was delicious, the tiramisu was superb and the strawberry shortcake was amazing. But honestly the best part was talking with the staff and I didn’t even notice that he was the owner! Johnny had amazingly friendly and supportive communication about the food and the neighborhood. I just started working in the neighborhood and this will be my local favorite place to eat a great meal! I probably will try everything on the menu! Hungry for more!

First time I ordered the chicken Alfredo it was disgusting. It taste like old spoiled milk with like a week old chicken.. maybe because it was late almost closing and I got the last … but it was tasteless and not worth a penny, never again. I decided to give them another shot. This time I spoke to the manager I gave him my complaint which he quickly apologized and assured me this time would be better . Sure enough he was about his word . My food was absolutely fresh n delicious!!! He even gave me free desert!

The pizza is excellent. The customer service is excellent. The owner was very nice, attentive, and fast at handling the order. The pizza has lots of sauce and lots of cheese. Everyone has their own preference when it comes to pizza. It’s either a lot of sauce and little cheese, or the opposite. Overall if you really like sauce on your pizza.. this is the place to come. The crust is so good. 🤤 I think they are amazing.

I recently visited Gios’s Pizza and had a wonderful experience. The ambiance was inviting, with a cozy atmosphere perfect for enjoying a meal with friends or family. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The service was prompt, and the prices were reasonable for the quality and quantity of food served. I highly recommend Gio’s Pizza to anyone looking for great pizza in a welcoming setting. I’ll definitely be returning to try more of their pizzas!

Worst food I ever had in my life 🤧😵 I ordered a simple chicken parmigiana & it had mold old rotten chicken & sauce tasted horrible. Also they were rude when I sent the food back. Don’t make the mistake of getting sick 🤢 ordering from them.

If you care about not finding hair or roaches in yr food do not order here. 😵‍💫🤢🤮🪳 I can’t believe I made the mistake twice of ordering food at this 🐀 rat hole also they blame the customer they don’t do refunds.

2 for effort and kind service. But is not Parmesan cheese! Is mozzarella! Why? They should definitely advertise it as what they serve. The least explain that there's no parm.

As a Local business owner, i called for Large Pie to be delivered for the staff, this how it arrived & they claimed it didn't fall during delivery.

I was waiting for my bus and nothing was coming. I was hungry so I stopped in Gio's and asked for a slice. I was in a hurry because, I then saw the bus coming. I missed my bus but that's OK, because that slice was delicious. I then placed a delivery order and it was just as good. We ordered spaghetti with meat sauce and a chicken Caesar wrap. Let's not forget the dessert an order of zepoles. I'm lying it was two orders. Stop in, the staff is so friendly.

You guys should really be ashamed of yourself for putting me in this predicament I felt like my life was ending because the pizza was no good that's not right I need a refund (3.25)!

The driver was extremely late. I contacted the restaurant to ensure that he had picked up my order as they don't allow you to track your food delivery. The man who answered the phone expressed that I was "lucky" to be receiving the food because my order was too small for them to bring to Harlem from the Bronx. Door to door it's a 14 minute walk from my house. I ordered a slice with fries AND tipped because I wasn't feeling well. He continued to go on and on about why I shouldn't place an order so small to be delivered. The restaurant should stop allowing customers to place such small orders for delivery. Instead of harassing your customers utilize an individual with common sense to adjust your delivery menu so small orders aren't allowed to be placed. Simple! Overall I will never order from here ever again

The info listed above (no minimum) is absolutely false. I used to order exclusively from Giovani but was hung up on twice and on my third attempt, I was told that there is now a $50 minimum. Unless they have turned into a steak house there is no excuse for this. Not even Little Italy based pizzerias have a $50 minimum. I order now from Harlem Pizza Co

Love this pizzeria !! Great food for a pizza place it even has a basically a drive through window you don't even have to go inside and that's great because of Covid ! I had the shrimp ceaser salad. And penne alla vodka wow ! Very impressed !! Thumbs up for Gio

My brother ordered this for dinner and to be quiet honest I usually don't eat pasta but it smelled so good I couldn't pass it up and I'm so glad I did because it was amazing!!! I have tasted a lot of other penne pastas before I mean who hasn't but this one right hereeee!!! Omg so good!! Everyone loved it .. please order and a support again really good I recommend. I heard everything is also good wings, burgers, etc. Thank you for staying open!

Worst choice in pizza ever. Asked for delivery and it took over 45 mins to get a pizza i only live .5 miles away. The guy on the phone was rude. The price was extremely high for a pepperoni and sausage pizza. Barely understand what the guy was saying with the accent

i really appreciate them they serve the best pizza i believe my kid loves the environment also they make us feel like we are at home!!! the staff is awesome i call the owner son(chicken butt) its silly yet endearing they really do take care of me and my family we adore them sooooooooooo much

worst pizza place I ordered a pasta dish a simple pasta dish and it tasted like can pasta. if u want low quality food then it here.

I was so shocked to see the unhappy reviews for Gio's. Although I've never dealt with the actual restaurant staff themselves, I ordered delivery from them yesterday and the food was fresh and delicious! Everything was super hot like it just came out of the oven when it arrived. The alfredo was so packed with flavor (not just a cream taste) and wasn't too thick or heavy. Definitely the best alfredo I had in a very long time! Someone else in my party got the Philly Steak Hot Hero and mentioned to me it was packed with flavor even though they didn't follow the request for "no peppers", but they still ate it and said it was awesome so no complaints there. Definitely will be ordering from here again!

The food here is okay. They fell off once the owners started letting their son run the restaurant. there's two things that I Dislike about this restaurant. 1 is that they charge 3 dollars to use a debit card which makes no sense and the 2nd issue is that their fries are way too greasy. once they cook The fries better and lower their price on debit card use then I'll give them 5 stars.

Is it possible a half star rate?! This restaurant has the worst pizza and the customer service is horrible. I called cause they got my order wrong and the people at the restaurant was trying to blame the Uber driver, when in fact the bag had MY NAME on it... so clearly it wasn't the Uber driver's fault. They said that they won't be able to help me cause they don't have delivery people, yet he said that as soon as I said where I was located. The pizza was thick full of dough, barely any cheese and the sauce had dried up. This place is horrible and doesn't taste good at all. I don't recommend this place at all. That would be the first and last time I ever buy food from this nasty place. DONT DO IT!!

Im a little bit annoyed by this pizza place. I ordered via seamless. The delivery guy went to a completely wrong address. Called and YELLED at me. I re-checked the address on the website (its correct). Its not my fault he screwed it up. I dont need to be yelled at for your mistake!!!!!

I received my pizza with the cheese on the side of the box instead of on my pizza. Like if you guys can't find better help close down. This is unacceptable and I paid 26.00 for this order which was French fries and a pizza pie. I am beyond upset. You really take a gamble by ordering from these restaurants. They can practically do anything they want with your food and get away with it. They take your money and just send you anything. I'm done. It's not fair.

Customer service tonight has officially turned me off of here after a year of being a customer! My whole family loved this place

Food is decent, however, I got a call to come down and get my food at the door because the delivery guy, "didn't have a lock" for his bike. After running the marathon yesterday I'm not going downstairs to get food that I've already tipped the delivery person to bring up via Seamless. When he got to the door after I refused to go downstairs I was told that his boss's policy is to not have them go up stairs at night. It's 7:15 pm on a Monday. That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Won't be ordering from them again.

Well I am so tired right now and you know pizza from Gios is really amazing but the time that I haven't eaten all day, they decide to take a whole hour for my food to not even be here yet. I ordered at 8:04 and its now 9:01. This has got to be one of the worst customer service and delivery service I have experienced from them. DO NOT ORDER A DELIVERY... JUST GO PICK IT UP !

This is a great place to grab lunch or dinner, They have some tasty lunch and dinner specials. I love the Meatlovers Pizza it is simply delicious. The staff is super friendly and the food taste great.

This restaurant is on Grubhub and Seamless and I ordered a couple calzones and soda, but will never order from them again. They will NOT deliver directly to your door. There was no indication that they will not deliver directly to your door so I was surprised when I get a phone call to come get my food. I will not order delivery from them again for that fact. The food is average and I've had better.

This is the worst pizza place that I have ever been in. I usually don't order from there but I decided let me try one more time. Today I ordered a veal Parma hero. Big mistake! The veal parmesan tasted like fish. I sent the sandwich back and had it replaced with a hot ham and cheese sandwich and that was not good. Their pizza has an after taste, and their food is not good. You can tell that they don't have a cook but that many people participate in the cooking of the food. That is a bad thing. Right now my wife and my daughter are in the bathroom trying to get the food out of their system. They ordered spaghetti and meatballs. They put mozzarella cheese over the spaghetti and meatballs which taste and looks unappealing.

I hate waiting for dominos so I call these people to make me a pizza the guy on the phone told me 10 min witch was to good to be true 1hr latter I'm calling them asking where's my pizza they dead what it was on it's way..I will never step foot in this store #the desert on the display is old as fuck ‍

Maybe I came on a good day or maybe they switched chefs. Either way, this was some of the best pizza I've had in this area. The crust wasn't super hard or burnt, the sauce wasn't excessive or scarce and the cheese wasn't boiling hot or nonexistent. The service was quick and the staff was friendly. Minus one star for the cleanliness of the restaurant. Needless to say I took my pizza to go. Overall: I'll be back.

I bought from here several times because I loved their Penne alla vodka but this was several years ago and the only reason I stopped ordering from them was because I lost the menu and I didn't know exactly were the restaurant was located since we found about the place because they dropped some menus in my building. Today I found them again in PayPal and ordered thru them because I had a couple of dollars in the account and I ordered my penne alla vodka plus some eggplant parmesan. Didn't have a bad experience before and I will post another review for today's experience since I am looking forward to trying both dishes.

Do not order from here if you actually want to get your food...it's been 2 hours - they are not picking up their phone...I finally got them to pick up and was abruptly told "the driver done left outta here"...the food hasn't even arrived yet and I'm already 100% certain I will NEVER EVER order from here again.

Love the pizza, it is fantastic, I grew up with NY and NJ pizza and this is one of the best pizzas in my area and it's 15 minutes one way but we'll worth the drive. Enjoy

I ordered the baked ziti with meatballs and some garlic bread, for takeout. The ziti was okay, but it became a game of "bob for meatballs", because the three meatballs were really good, but the rest was just okay. The cheesy garlic bread was some good comfort-foody stuff, though. Took 1.5 hours for delivery from 20 blocks away, so I won't likely order again. But prices are reasonable, and if I lived closer, this could be a good go-to Italian place.

Very low food quality. Worst than school cafeteria food. I've given this place three tries and on each order, the food tasted stale. Oreo cake was clearly past its expiration date - had a strange texture; the burger was on stale bread and the lettuce had a rotten brown color; the fries were cold, extremely dry and tasted like chalk; vodka pasta was swimming in orange sauce and overpowered with faux garlic flavor; zeppolis were stale - they had a hard-chewy texture. EVERYTHING from this place is gross.

The worst $20 I have ever spent. The chicken was stale, burger horrible, and french fries awful. Never Again.

Let me preface this by saying this review is not about the taste, because the pizza is absolutely delicious. Rather, whoever makes this child must be a 7 year old child, because my order is wrong. Every. Single. Time. My roommate is a vegetarian and I love sausage. Therefore, we order a black olive and onion pizza, and only put sausage on half. Instead, we get half meat, half veggies, while paying for veggies on all of the pizza. On top of all of that, they actually only put veggies on approximately 1/4th of the pizza, so my roommate didn't even get her full half. What a rip off. And extremely disappointing that they can't follow the simplest of instructions.

Ate from them a total of three times and right now was the third and last. my fiance ordered me two pepperoni slices and a garden salad. I ate through the first one and I was on to the second when for some reason I looked down and seen a baby roach laying on the pepperoni with another pepperoni slightly covering it. called them back and spoke to a woman first who then passed the phone to the owner I guess and he said to leave the slice because hes gonna bring another and that he wants to see. ridiculous!!!!!!!! he came to get the pizza took it back and then called my fiance back saying its oregano we run a clean business, like im sorry i didnt know oregano had legs and was black with a lil tan on the head thanks my mistake. NEVER AGAIN

We sent our clients a pizza party, and they were happy. The ordering process was a nightmare, for me, and I still got charged more than their website prices but, our clients were happy, and that is the important thing.

I ordered a slice of pizza. The pizza tastes bland. As a New Yorker I have sampled pizza all over the city. Like most New Yorkers we know how good pizza is suppose to taste. In pizza it is not the amount of cheese, it is the sauce that gives the pizza that flavor. In this case, the sauce is tasteless. Tasteless sauce plus cheese does not make a good pizza.

The food is great but customer service sucks. I get during lunch time is busy but I only have an hour and I was standing there for 10 minutes without being acknowledged. The lady always has a face and they always try to charge me more than what the price it states....smh

The food isn't anything to write home about, but it's some of the cheapest delivery you can get in the Harlem/South Bronx area on Seamless. Best thing they serve is probably the chicken gyro; the burgers and chicken parm heroes are okay.
