Used to come here all the time when it was at the other location, and was so happy to hear that they came back! We did the bottomless brunch on Valentine's Day weekend, with mimosas. The food was amazing, the portions were much larger than expected, and the drinks were coming at a good pace. Also want to shout out our waitress for paying attention to the allergy note we made on the reservation. After she took our order, she came back and mentioned one of the meals might have cross-contamination and wanted to double check! We ended up changing that order. Overall it was a great experience!

I’m so happy Giovanni’s is back! I had the pleasure of attending the reopening at their new location across the street from the old one. The atmosphere is amazing, the staff are friendly and welcoming, and the food is just as incredible as I remembered. The new décor is so classy and elegant—it really enhances the dining experience. Great neighborhood italian restaurant! One of the better meals we’ve had in a while. Pastas were especially excellent.

Absolutely amazing comeback! Food and service were great as always, and the staff were on point even as busy as it was! So many delicious options, you won't be disappointed. Just be sure to make a reservation!

It's my first time here, and I can't say enough good things about this place! First of all, I didn't have a reservation, but the guy at the door was incredibly accommodating, and I'm really grateful for that. Secondly, the food was delicious, and the waitress was exceptionally friendly. Overall, it was a wonderful experience!

Not sure how i've never written a review yet but....Giovanni's is hands-down my favorite restaurant in Brooklyn! I stumbled upon this gem almost 10 years ago while working on the church nearby, and I was instantly hooked. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff made me forget I was in the heart of Brooklyn. I was there for lunch at least twice a week, savoring their brunch menu. Then they introduced live music, which elevated the dining experience to a whole new level. The smooth jazz created the perfect backdrop for sharing meals and making memories with friends. When I heard about the fire, I was devastated. But like a phoenix rising from the ashes, Giovanni's came back stronger than ever. The space is even more beautiful now, and the food and music are as amazing as I remember. I've personally recommended Giovanni's to dozens of clients and friends, and it's always a guaranteed hit. Everyone loves the food and service, while constantly checking the website to see when the next music event is. Cheers to Giovanni's remaining a Brooklyn staple until the end of time! Sunday brunch was a pleasant experience! Live band wasn’t too loud and played appropriate music which was definitely a bonus. The brunch options were refreshing and not just the usual stuff you see when going out. Staff was incredibly friendly and most important - the food was delicious

In general, I have a lovely time and we come often. The sesame bread is amazing with the rosemary olive oil and Monday night they have half price bottles of wine. The plain cheesecake is also some of the best I've ever had which says a lot since I have had Juniors and tons of other cheesecake all over the city. Last time we went, I was trying to be healthy and got the salmon and spinach despite the possibility of it being bland. And surprise! It wasn't. It was actually so good, I thought about it later and may get it again.

The stars are for the food, which is mediocre. The five star reviews are baffling. The presentation is clumsy and very dated and the seasoning is way off. It's kind of like diner food. No offence to diners. I like diners. Pasta is OK. Beef is crazy salty. The space is very attractive and much more appealing than the previous one that had the fire. One of the reasons we came was because it is much more inviting, and we thought maybe the food would surprise. It did not. The owner seems like a nice guy. But there are some seriously good Italian restaurants in Park Slope. This is not one of them.

I lived in Park Slope for many years and had never been to this restaurant until recently. My husband and I decided to give it a try, and we had a great time. We loved the ambiance; the lights were dim, and I really enjoyed their music playlist, which featured a lot of Frank Sinatra. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. For our appetizer, we ordered the meatballs, which were okay, but I felt the sauce was a bit too acidic for my taste. For our entrées, I had rigatoni pesto with chicken, and my husband chose rigatoni alla vodka. Both dishes were delicious; the sauce was fresh, and I could taste all the herbs. For drinks, I ordered the Mambo Italiano, which was fine, though I mostly chose it because it contained coconut. This is a nice date night restaurant and its local. We enjoyed ourselves and will definitely return!

A good friend recommended me to come to Giovanni's. We arrived and was greeted by the owners son Dean and the owner Giovanni. They were both extremely nice and welcoming. The restaurant is really nice. Very Italian with tin ceilings, family pictures on the wall, open kitchen, beautiful bar and a band playing. This restaurant is situated on a corner. They had all the windows open on this beautiful night. It was super cozy and the ambience was very chill. The staff was really nice and very accommodating. Anything I asked they were quick to give me an explanation. We started off with a specialty cocktail and beer. The cocktail was a take on a pina colada heavy on the lime over ice. Well balanced. It was delicious. We got apps a spinach salad and frito misto. Both were delicious. The dressing was perfect with poached pears and Gorgonzola cheese also frito misto with an assortment of veg as well as calamari. For dinner we ordered short rib with mash. The mash was amazing, sauce was delicious short rib needed a touch more in the oven. Still though just a delicious dish. For dessert we ordered apple bread pudding with gelato. We thoroughly enjoyed this. This was moist not to sweet. Really just perfect and a great way to end a meal. Overall I love Giovanni's. It's a great neighborhood restaurant. The owner and his son are just wonderful people . I will def be back for dinner and brunch

First, let's talk about how welcoming these folks are and they are welcoming. They want you there they want your business and they are happy to see you and that is a great feeling whenever you walk into a restaurant next the food which is all delicious really made with love from the eggplant Parmesan to the rigatoni à la vodka to the steak or there was a chicken dish that was amazing and the starters from the salad to the Frito miso we're all really really done well. This place is awesome. It's got a very cool vibe. It's lively. There's great music and it's just fun and you are really appreciated as a customer.

First of all, the Yelp rating guide is a little off. 4 stars out of 5 should be considered more than "Good". Secondly, most of the pictures "inside" are from the old location. This is a little misleading as I sometimes check the pictures to see what the vibe is from the place and these are pictures from a place that no longer exists. I'm giving it 3 stars based on my overall experience, which can be rectified. The food was top notch, as you will read. OK, so in contrast to some of the other reviews, who liked the new place better but think the food is mediocre, I have the opposite opinion. Yes the food is traditional Brooklyn Italian dishes, but they are very well done and tasty. It's not like some old tired red sauce joint cooking limp pasta. Everything is really good and made with care. The difference, even when making the tried and true, is like night and day. All of us really enjoyed our meals there. That said, I found the new location somewhat lacking in the charm the old place had, which was a little bigger and had some nooks and corners so, depending on where you sat, you could feel like you had a little privacy. But nothing's perfect. I'm sure the owners were looking for a nearby location that was affordable and doable. But the other issue is the noise. Because it's a smaller space, with squared-off walls and not much on them, the noise from a full house reverberates and it's a little hard to hear your table-mates. Add to that the live music (on some nights) and it becomes impossible. I would cut down on the music, maybe suggest something much softer, like classical guitar, etc, and put tapestries or something on the walls to absorb the noise. I'll definitely go again, but the noise factor does give me pause.

The menu is very traditional & dare I say ...outdated. Why? Not enough of a good selection for vegetarians/vegans. Keep sleeping on us if you want but it will be at your peril. We're no longer satisfied with vegetable lasagna, eggplant Parmesan & boring olive oil with vegetables pastas. Step it up pal

Came back here for dinner nearly a year later. We waited eagerly for the reopening and snagged a dinner reservation for 930 on a Saturday night. The new space is nice, clean and warm ambience. Lots of patrons and service was a bit slow at first, but our waitress was very attentive after that. To start we ordered Fritto Misti and Arancini- get these. Perfectly fried shrimp, veggies and creamy crispy rice balls with a marinara sauce on the side, For pasta we chose rigatoni ala vodka and spaghetti con Vongole. The rigatoni was creamy basil-y goodness, cooked to perfection and we couldn't stop eating it . The spaghetti was nice, garlic and olive oil, but almost as salty as the ocean which I didn't love. Barely any seasoning and no chili which I had requested. For mains we went with chicken Marsala and the beef short rib. Both came with a side of creamy buttery mashed potatoes which were bomb. Chicken Marsala was in a brown gravy kind of sauce with lots of mushrooms. Beef short rib was drenched in a sauce with bits of carrots and was very salty, even when I scraped off some of the sauce to try the meat itself. The main courses left a lot to be desired in terms of flavor. Definitely will stick to pasta and appetizers if I come back here again.

I have lived in the neighborhood for 6 years now and have never eaten here.. I was inspired to give it a try after several social media posts were promoting the Grand Opening (as the restaurant had been closed due to a fire and opened up in a new spot across the street) I finally came by last night (Saturday) with a friend who also lives close by. What a treat! The space is beautiful! Open layout with gorgeous tin ceilings, and exposed brick walls. Nice lighting throughout. The place was bustling with cheer and ambiance, along with a live jazz band and singer with such a melodious voice. Service was impeccable. We shared the house salad, and that was delicious! I had the chicken piccata and a side of mashed potatoes, and my friend had the lasagna. Both were tasty and filling. And! The CHEESECAKE! My gawd! Get the cheesecake! Mmmmmmmmm All and all, a great dinner and will be back!

I haven't eaten in the new place yet but we got take out the other night. It was really good I will say. Way better than when they were across the street. My husband got the Sunday special which was pasta with sausage, meatball n beef. That was delicious. The pasta with vodka sauce was ok. Nothing great n very small portion. We got the bread pudding which was great and so was the cheese cake , although undercooked or just was totally falling apart. It was definitely delicious but I had to eat it with a spoon. So all in all we will definitely go back . Also most Italian restaurants give you bread which they didn't.Id probably give it a 3 and half if possible.

I ate here for the first time this evening. I was so disappointed with the food. Nearly every dish was EXTREMELY salty to the point that it was unpleasant to eat. Service was slow--both in bringing out the food and collecting the plates when we were finished. I see no reason to go back there unless you get a new chef that knows how to season food properly.

The food was a letdown. Lively ambiance with live band & singer. Service staff running around. Ordered whole wheat pasta and veal scalapini. Waited 45 minutes for food. When brought to our table it was room temperature. Apparently got lost. Finding other restaurant to go. Shame.

Reading through some of the reviews, I'm baffled by several of the complaints. I'll address three that I find laughable: too salty, too expensive, outdated. First, I've never experienced food that's too salty. For me everything seems well balanced and on point. If anything, maybe a touch less garlic in the sauce and I'd also vote for a bit more heat. Second, how is this place too expensive? If that's your chief complaint, you really need to reconsider your priorities when dining out. They actually sell bottles of wine for under $40. I cannot take you seriously if cost is an issue and I show up to find wine options for under $40. Plus, they have one of the best priced entree in all of Brooklyn, $18 for ricotta gnocchi. Third, I'm not sure you can tag them as outdated. it's a traditional red sauce Italian American joint. It's doing the classics of that genre. They embrace old school vibes and make no excuses about it. If you want modern, this isn't for you. Overall, the food, service and ambience are solid. For me, it's a great neighborhood joint that's not going to break the bank. I wouldn't put it on the Mount Rushmore of Italian food but I'm thankful to have it down the street.

I would definitely recommend the calamari with fra diavlo sauce. Holy moly it was SO SO GOOD!! I would also recommend asking for more bread so that you can dip it in that magnificent sauce! The fried calamari was alright, wasn't fried that well and all the coating came off pretty quickly. Spaghetti con vongole was pretty good, they give you really big clams! Portion size for the appetizers were a little small, but pasta was alright. Service was great! They also has live music which was a nice touch for a Saturday night din!

Giovanni's Brooklyn Eats is an Italian Restaurant that opened in 2011 and is on 8th Avenue in Park Slope. I have had the pleasure of eating there In-Person as well as us ordering food online and it has always tasted delicious. There is a great variety of Starters, Main Courses, Pasta Dishes, Seafood Dishes, Salads, Desserts, etc. We have ordered Spaghetti Al Pomodoro w/ Meatballs and have had Spaghetti Al Pomodoro w/ Italian Sausage & Meatballs - Delicious! Luca's Lasagna is rich, filling and is hearty. Zucchini Fritters stuffed w/ Prosciutto & Buratta Chesse w/ tomatoes was fabulous.- Hearty, yet light and refreshing all at the same time. Giovanni's Marga--Beeta Cocktail and their mocktails are amazing. Every time I have a Giovanni's dish I tell myself to have room for dessert but the dishes are so filling I never have enough room -lol. One day I will go just to try some dessert. Giovanni's Staff are nice and laid-back and special Shout-Out to Lea for always being her sweet, warm, kind, friendly self as she and the other servers provide nice customer service. Specials - Giovanni's Brooklyn Eats has Markdown Mondays where you get 50% off any bottle of wine you purchase during their dinner service. Tuesdays to Thursdays is their "Pranzo" Dinner Special from 4pm-7pm. The "Pranzo" Dinner is $28.95 and it includes a Starter, Entree and Dessert. Such A Great Price! Momday - Friday from 11am -4pm is Lunch Pre-Fix iwhich includes an Appetizer & Entree for $18.95. Brunch is Saturdays and Sundays from 11am -4pm and they offer Appetizer and Entree for $21.95 and for just $26.95 this includes Unlimited Mimosas & Bloody Mary Cocktails (90 Minute Dining Time Limit). High prices Poor food quality Poor service Had to return enter and then wait 25 minutes for a replacement order. When asked for check again had to wait 20-25 for waitress to come with check. Will not be returning. Decorated very nicely. Owner very nice. Restaurant very loud.

Giovanni's is an adorable spot in the park slope area! I came for a Sunday brunch and was pleasantly surprised to hear live music! It added a lovely ambiance to our Sunday brunch. We got the bottomless brunch with mimosas and bloody Mary's. I love that this brunch came with an appetizer and a main for the price of brunch! The brunch food here was just alright, but i really loved my melon and prosciutto appetizer. I got one of the daily specials and it was basically an omelette with sausage, it was good but nothing spectacular. For a brunch spot, the ambiance an camaraderie is key. This place is full of families with young children, but the atmosphere was still great for brunch especially if you walk in to brunch with a string quartet!

I have been dining at this restaurant for 20 years!!! Giovanni, originally had his restaurant on Seventh Avenue in Park Slope. When we discovered that location he told us he would be relocating to Prospect Park. And we followed him.. the rest is history! Thus, @2000 we were one of the first patrons to dine in the new digs on New Year's Eve. It was a special night and we met his whole family. The kids were babies!! We had a great night and dined on delicious food, especially the annual NYE favorite, squid ink linguini with lobster, shrimp and mussels. Thus, this soon became an annual rite of passage. Through the years we enjoyed numerous NYE festivities: rubbed elbows with then Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz, enjoyed live music and of course the food. I have also dined here for weekday lunch, Sunday brunch, dined outdoors( I think when Giovanni got his sidewalk permit) indoors( warm and cozy inside) A few of my faves: arugula salad with a lemon vinaigrette, spaghetti con vongole, Nonna's meatballs, eggplant Parmesan ( to die for) and countless others. Mark this address in your phone: 1657 8th Avenue you will not regret it! This is fine Italian dining at its best. Lastly a few words for Giovanni: Giovanni, sei il piu grande. If you want to go a restaurant that makes delicious Italian cuisine - Giovanni's is the place. The chicken parm is perfection and the rice balls are the best I ever had! My son loved there Italian Sunday dinner! The staff is extremely inviting and the owner checked on us as well. The restaurant has a classic vibe and feels cozy. I can't wait to go back! Amazing food!

This restaurant was super mid. I know that I could cook better Italian food at home, & it was not worth that expensive price tag. My bf & I sat in the enclosed outdoor dining space because the live music was too loud, & you'd have to really shout to hear anything. The "outdoor" dining space had uncomfy chairs & small tables in a crowded space. The bread served as an appetizer had the oddest crust & wasn't crunchy nor tasty. The basil pasta with veggies that I ordered wasn't yummy or flavorful, but it was filling. It tasted watered down. My bf's veal & potato was yummy & expensive. Our Prosecco was freezing cold but decent. We ordered cheesecake, & I've never had such a mushy cheesecake. It had the consistency of rice pudding in the shape of a cake. Decent service & nice waitresses, but the food & dining experience wasn't that enjoyable. It did not feel like a fine dining restaurant. We've had better.

INCREDIBLE!!!! What and awesome Italian food experience. My better half and I split the Alfredo and shrimp. It's not on the menu, they gave us the hook up. We also shared a craft of their homemade sangria. They were both delicious. Oh, I forgot. For appetizer we had their fried artichoke and the arugula salad. YUM!!! And for dessert we had the apple crumble and cappuccino. They have outdoor dining but we decided on indoors to enjoy the ambiance. Our server, Iya, took great care of us along with Lorenzo. They were friendly and professional. They were there when we needed them. Keep up the great work. We will return.

I've never actually met Giovanni, but I consider him a roommate with a spectacular penchant for cooking since Giovanni's Brooklyn Eats is a few blocks away from my old apartment in Brooklyn. Besides how homey this restaurant feels, from the decor to the service all the way to the food, this little place tucked into the corner of Prospect Avenue and 8th Avenue will always warm me up figuratively (and literally I guess, since I've almost always been there on a winter night). Chicken parm is one of the ultimate comfort foods, and Giovanni's serves up some of the best I've ever had. The chicken is never overcooked despite what some previous reviews might report, and it's so, so flavorful and filling. Be sure to come hungry: my game plan is always to order some calamari as a starter (I'm drooling just thinking of the marinara sauce that comes on the side), the chicken parm with rigatoni, and dessert to satiate my sweet tooth. You can't go wrong with the tiramisu, chocolate cake, or cheesecake--I know it's an especially tough decision. Note that Giovanni's is transparent about a small additional charge to apply to all debit and credit card transactions, which is something they started implementing in 2019. Small restaurants are hurting right now, even more so during the pandemic. I appreciate their honesty and how this doesn't affect their overall prices if you're paying with cash.

Stopped by for a quick bite of lunch and Andes up getting the Saturday/ Sunday brunch. All good quality and good value. Service was good and the music by George Stass was excellent

I came here with a friend for brunch and I am so glad I got a chance to experience it. The brunch menu offers both appetizer and entrée for $18.95 and includes unlimited Mimosas or Bloody Marys for only $4 more. I liked that there was quite a variety for both appetizer and entrée, especially the latter. First, we were served complimentary white bread with olive oil that had rosemary inside, which added to the yumminess. I decided to go for the Ricotta Fritters, since it is unique and sounded mouthwatering. For the main course, I ordered the egg panini with ground sausage, onion, peppers and melted Fontina cheese. There were 3 Ricotta Fritters, which came topped with caramel sauce and powdered sugar. This was accompanied by apple puree. The fritters were delightfully warm, moist, slightly sweet, perfectly crunchy and lovely ricotta taste that was delicate. The caramel sauce paired so well with the fritters, elevating the flavors. The apple puree was pretty good as well. As for the panini, the bread was soft and there was plenty of well seasoned sausage. The red peppers were nicely cooked and fresh. I also enjoyed the extremely melty fontina cheese, which brought everything together well. The eggs were decent, but were on the bland side. I returned with another friend recently and tried the prosciutto and melon appetizer. For the entrée, my heart set on the steak and eggs, but I was informed they are no longer serving that. I decided on the omelette of the day, which came with roasted potatoes and salad. The prosciutto, melon and pecorino cheese were separate from one another on the plate, so I wrapped the prosciutto around the honey drenched melon and added the cheese on top. The melon was wonderfully ripe, slightly sweet, and very juicy. The prosciutto was thinly sliced and had great flavor. The cheese was extremely sharp, strong, and savory. All the ingredients mingled well, making for a very tasty and distinctive bite. Inside the omelette there was sausage, eggplant, tomato, and satisfyingly melty Parmesan cheese, complete with amazing pull. However, there wasn't a ton of filling and it was very eggplant / tomato heavy, and barely any sausage. The little bit of sausage that was there tasted decent and I liked the vegetables it came with. I think my favorite part of the meal were the roasted potatoes, which were hearty, slightly crispy, and flavorful with a variety of yummy herbs. Overall, I was more satisfied with my meal the first time around. The service was good. Our waiter was both friendly and on top of it.

I've had such amazing Italian food in this neighborhood and was super excited to try Giovanni's. So I am surprised to say that I left this restaurant feeling disappointed tonight. Honestly, the food tasted like mediocre, flavorless food. We had the Caesar salad, bruschetta, Italian wings, meatballs, parmesan fritters, penne alla vodka, spaghetti. Maybe the brunch menu and experience is better. But I would not return here for dinner.

It's been a while since I've been out for brunch, especially bottomless brunch so I was glad Giovanni's allowed reservations, especially for a large group. I made a reservation for 7 people and the lady I spoke to was very amicable. When my group arrived, they had a table all set up for us! They were even accommodating when we told them we'd have another person join us, which I was appreciative of. Brunch is $19 with a choice of an app and an entree, but for just $4 more, you can get the bottomless booze! I ordered the Prosciutto and Melon as my appetizer and the Fiorentina Benedict for my main dish. The food did take a bit of time to come out, but the staff made sure our water cups and our bread baskets were full while we waited! There was also a wasp flying around us, as outdoor dining comes with its surprises..but the waiter came by to check up on us and shoo it away LOL Super attentive and friendly! :) My appetizer was pretty good and simple. The melon was fresh and sweet, but I felt like the Prosciutto and Cheese were too warm for my liking. Overall it was a nice start to my meal! The Fiorentina was super creamy and the home fries and salad that came with it were a nice addition. I was a little disappointed that my eggs weren't runny, but it did not take away from the dish! My friends and I enjoyed our meals and would definitely recommend this spot! Good food, great prices, and amazing staff!!

One of the best Italian restaurants in South Slope. The food and service is amazing. If they have it on the menu the Burrata with the Honey Dew is to die for. You can't go wrong with whatever you order. A warning though they do charge a Covid tax which they don't let you know ahead of time

The pasta dishes were ok, but the fried calamari was "bussing yo!" in the words of my 16 year old! lol Cozy feel inside seemingly catered mostly to tables for two, but they do have space for larger parties. I like that tables have clear plastic partition for covid safety. Service was ok; we did have to flag them down once or twice though. We got the Pesto Pasta which was a real disappointment! The sauce was super watery and lacking in flavor. The Shrimp Tagliatelle was good enough, but nothing special. We wound up sharing the shrimp pasta because the pesto was so subpar. The Apple Crumble was great! My chocolate Gelato was literally just one scoop of what tasted like regular ice cream. Overall the entire experience was mediocre. The beauty about this city is that for every one mediocre place, there's a bunch of other great places to make up for it. We tried it; this was a once and done kind of place for us.

I love Giovanni's. Clean and COVID safe, great food, has gluten free options, and good service. You can't do better with an affordable Italian neighbor place in the Park Slope/Windsor Terrace area.

Party of 4, came in for brunch at 1:00 on Saturday, received a table right away. $18.95 gets you choice of starter and an entree, +$4 for bottomless mimosas and bloody marys. Not feeling the need to start drinking so early, I selected the prosciutto and melon plus the steak (medium-rare) and eggs. While our party awaited the first round of food, we drank coffees and ate table bread dipped in rosemary olive oil. The decor in Giovanni's is clean, appealing, and fits the space well. A jazz/swing trio began playing. The space was abuzz with cheerful conversation. Food arrived. The prosciutto and melon (honeydew, if you must know) paired playfully in my mouth. The melon slices had been drizzled in actual honey, a sweet touch. I also had a few nibbles of the strong cubed pecorino cheese. Pungent! After our empty plates were cleared away, the mains hit the table. Two sunny-side up eggs topped my steak, surrounded by potatoes and a side salad. I crushed this breakfast, no mercy, no restraint. The meat was closer to medium, but still tasted as desired. Maybe I could've done with a bigger steak and a bottle of ketchup: c'est la vie. Meanwhile, my dining companions were also finishing off their food, heads bowed in respect, nodding in approval. We left a nice tip for the waitstaff and threw five bucks to the band. Recommended for those seeking the quintessential brunch experience.

I recently hosted my daughter's baby shower here and had a wonderful experience. Giovanni and his staff were very helpful with the planning of the menu and party set-up. Everything went smoothly. The food was delicious and the staff was welcoming and provided excellent service. I wholeheartedly recommend this charming 'neighborhood' establishment.

Came here Sunday night with a reservation via Seated. Had a good meal that didn't break the bank. We shared a seasonal cocktail that was a perfect balance of sweet and dry/bitter -- not too Campari-y, but could've been more strawberry-y, IMO. We each had one of the fresh tagliatelle pastas, which were well-cooked and dressed. The artichoke (carciofi) was wonderfully decadent. The spinach one was also quite good. Free bread to start with good oil to dip in. Service was friendly and the jazz trio was jaunty. Would come back.

Giovanni's seems to be a newish restaurant in a pretty quiet area. We honestly stopped by because not a lot else seemed to be open at 9pm on a weekday nearby. The food ended up being very good and reasonably priced. The fresh tagliatelle was clearly the highlight, but the chicken dishes and dessert were also quite good. The service was very good and the outdoor seating area is nice and open and quiet. Would definitely recommend this place if you are in the area! Especially for some yummy carbs after a prospect park run or bike ride.

Great place for brunch. Their brunch menu has two options. There's a $19 option where you choose and appetizer and an entree as well as a $23 option where you get bottomless mimosas along with the appetizer and entree. They have both outdoor and indoor seating but the indoor is very limited. I opted for the outdoors. The servers were very attentive with refilling drinks and taking orders. However, I would say that the wait for food was pretty long. We came on a Sunday afternoon and didn't have to wait long for an outdoor table. Granted, it was pretty chilly that afternoon. However, the appetizers took about 15-20 mins to come out after we ordered and the entrees took another 45-60 mins after the appetizers arrived. It started to get pretty chilly outdoors after waiting a while for the food. But when the food came it was very warm and delicious! Would love it if implemented some heating source outdoors especially with winter right around the corner.

This is one of my most favorite brunch spots around Brooklyn! The price is very affordable for a bottomless brunch and it comes with an appetizer and a delicious entree. The brunch price without bottomless is about $19 and with bottomless it's about $25. There are a lot of great selections on the menu! My go to for their appetizers are their Ricotta Fritters or their Roasted Beats Salad. I think the service is great and the servers always does their best to take care of you. Will most likely be back again! Also, Giovanni's are having a prefix menu for Christmas Eve if anybody needs to make any plans on where to eat here's your chance!

Great little place with indoor and outdoor seating, great service, great food almost like home cooked. The wait staff is friendly and on point with service, they have a nice selection of wine also. They have a good variety of beer domestic, foriwn and craft. They have a nice desert menu and after dinner drinks, I reccomend a shot of the cold Amaro from Italy. I saw a lot of people ordering the meatballs with fresh ricotta cheese as a starter, looked really good. Being my first time here I had no idea, I'm definitely ordering that next time. Very clean place, with semi open kitchen and food comes out hot and fresh. I highly reccomed this place

I'm not sure how this place has 4 stars. Our Christmas Eve dinners were TERRIBLE FIRST OFF THEY DELIVERED 30 minutes AFTER the time we specifically said ( 3 ) times We asked for bread and they said they don't do bread but they will do it for us - THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN Food came cold & under cooked. Plenty of other GOOD places around

I've been a fan of Giovanni's for a while as they're my go-to for local Italian. From their solid brunch and lunch specials, to their always delicious homemade pasta and entrees to the olive oil on the table, it's just a reliable treat that never disappoints. Big on their spinach salad, their veal saltinbocca (veal scaloppini with prosciutto and mozzarella in white wine sauce), salsiccia all Brookolino (sausage and broccoli rabe with pesto) and pretty much all of their pasta. Even their relatively simple spaghetti ai vegetali is just cooked so well, and sooooo garlic-y, that its worth the (reasonable) price. Don't sleep on their desserts either! Their almond cake and chocolate cake are always solid but I've had some nutella amazing bread pudding here that I still dream about. I also have to say I've been very impressed with their perseverance during the whole COVID-19 thing. Thanks so much guys, it definitely takes a bit of the sting off for a night to have a great neighborhood staple meal, even if it is at home.

Still very loyal, because I still mostly order delivery and feel that is a thankless job, but my last couple orders have been subpar. Still arrives super promptly, but the bruschetta was cold bread with cold veggies dumped on top. No grilling, no cooking. It was cold to the touch and not from delivery. I warmed and broiled it to make it work. Guys, I'll wait a bit longer for better preparation.

Before coming to Giovanni's I was sold on the reviews and the pictures. I came in around 2:30 and was seated immediately. At the table however, there was a dirty plate, and silverware. The plate had oil and bread crumbs as if someone was just seated there but decided to leave, and the fork had dried up food on it. Thankfully the experience only went up from there. You receive complimentary bread to go with your meal and get to choose a starter and an entree. You can opt to wash it all down with bottomless mimosas or (for the more sophisticated palates) bloody mary's. For my starter I chose a simple spinach salad, and selected penne alla fiorentina for the entree. Both were really good. The pasta was almost too good and with all the force feeding I did, I was happy I wore leggings to the feast. Now, those mimosas! I'm not sure what specific brand of OJ or champagne they are using, nor their juice to alcohol ratio on the pours, but they should never switch it up. Ever. By far the best mimosa's I have had. For $25, this place is a steal.

This restaurant has plenty of room to hold lots of customers. The service was excellent. The food was also. They had a live band playing banjo music, but for me, anyway, it was so loud that I felt like we had to shout over it to hear each other-and there were only three of us. There was also a lot of background noise due to all the other customers talking. Keep in mind, it was Sunday brunch. It's busy then. I don't know what the other days are like. I had poached eggs florentine and found it to be delicious. The brunch is fairly reasonably priced. Although brunch there for serious, important conversations would not be ideal...for a casual social gathering in a lively atmosphere, it's fun, it's perfect. I'd recommend it!
