Yelp
We found this place by accident, but what a happy accident it was!! We had biked over from Avalon to lunch at a cute outdoor BYOB spot, but it was closed (still in off-season), so we started riding around and stopped over at Giovanni's Deli and quickly looked them up on Yelp - 4.5 stars?! Green light by me!
Despite being offseason on a holiday weekend, this place had a line! We waiting and spent the time deciding what we wanted. There were 2 couples, and we each decided to order a 12inch sub to split. We actually both sprung for the 12-inch seeded roll they were advertising for .25 cents extra - definitely a good call, the bread was amazing!
My husband and I split our "usual" which is turkey, roast beef, provolone, lettuce, tomato, and onion with a little oil/vinegar. It was supremely delicious! They had a pickle vat (sounds slightly unappealing to call it that), and were selling pickles bigger than my hand for $1.19 - so naturally we got two! Pickles were delicious, but also MASSIVELY too much, even though I split it with the hubs. And yes for the record, we spent the meal making big-pickle jokes #adultsohard.
Chips and drinks available by the register/cold cases respectively. Even outdoor seating for groups or individuals, right on the sidewalk in front of the shop - both covered and uncovered. No frills, no nonsense, but a really good deli! I would definitely eat here again.
