Money Making Mitch - that’s his name! He provided exceptional service and had the best sense of humor! We thoroughly enjoyed everything about our visit (4th time here): atmosphere, drinks, freshly baked bread and oil medley, salad, entree, and dessert! The hostess and owner were nice also. Will definitely visit again the next time we’re in Greensboro.

This is a tough one. During Highpoint market things get very busy and sometimes things don’t go smoothly. Tonight we ate at Giovani’s and were greeted by a woman that right off the bat said we don’t have any tables, you’re going to have to eat outside. Mind you the table they sent us to had a fireplace that worked for about 3 minutes. We asked to be seated inside, mind you we did have a reservation. Thankfully we were seated inside, it was 52 degrees outside and dropping. Our waitress was a gem, her manager was not. Again, things don’t always go to plan and the staff was overwhelmed. The true problem was the management was unkind and very short with the staff. This made them stressed and we did our best to let our server know that we realized her situation and did not blame her. The food was just ok and what could have made up for it was a little grace from their management. I hope they can come together and realize that as a team they can get over anything. I had the Veal Masala and my wife had Spaghetti Carbonara. Both just ok and not up to the standard we’re used to, we’ve been eating there for over 20 years.

They had a delicious special tonight. Pan-seared whole flounder! Delicious!! We will try their lunch too. Someplace different for lunch!

Excellent dining experience! Our waitress was great and checked in on us the perfect amount of times. We ordered the swordfish and veal parmigiana, the desserts were nice as well.

I took my daughter and family for dinner for my daughter’s birthday. It took 5 mins to be greeted or acknowledged. . The food was terrible considering pretty much everything was over $30 or more. Salad had rotten tomatoes, my pasta was over cooked and too salty. My daughter’s pasta was forgotten So I had to remind that she didn’t get pasta and when it was served, it seems like it was sitting for a long time so it was rubbery so I had to tell them to take it back. And worst of all, this is an Italian restaurant but I was told they ran out of Parmesan cheese……. I told my son that this is like going to Sushi restaurant and told they have no raw fish….. It is an overpriced for the food what is less appetizing than Olive Garden. Servers were very nice and that’s the only thing we liked about this place.

Absolutely loved it here, went on a Thursday night for our anniversary and was greeting promptly for our reservation. You get complimentary bread and salad. And the food was delicious! Go on your anniversary and they’ll give you a free desert!!

We discovered this place over one year ago. We got engaged here and came here for my sixth birthday! The food is always authentic and fresh. The bread and oil is delicious. The service is good too. I’ve seen people celebrate here in large groups. Don't sleep on this place. It’s excellent for date night. Check it out.

Giovanni's has been my go-to for an excellent meal for a while. Granted there were Ebbs and flows of consistency over the years just as in other places. However my meal there this week was phenomenal, as was the service. Was thrilled to see they now serve lunch. The salad was fresh, and the sauce cheese and everything in the Triple Decker eggplant entree was perfectly cooked. Their filet is always top notch as is the loin chops. All three sauces we experienced we're flavorful with just the right amount of ingredients. Try giving the new Giovanni's a try if you enjoy fine dining entrees.

Yelp
My husband and I were very excited to try this restaurant for his birthday. We were "welcomed" by a harried hostess, who just seemed to have arrived. The restaurant itself was very nice. The tables were already set, and I did notice my bread/salad plate was dirty. The meal was fantastic and the homemade bread they brought out was delicious and warm. I got the chicken involtini, and it was very good. The lemon wine sauce was very lemony, though. I got pasta as a side, and that was great too! My husband got the tiramisu, and it was seriously amazing!! Our service was okay. At one point, we had to ask another worker if we could order our main dishes as our servers didn't come back for a while. I also asked for another salad/bread plate, and never received one. I would expect a little more attentive service for this type of restaurant, hence the 4 out of 5 stars.

Yelp
First time at Giovanni's and it definitely won't be the last! I loved the vibe of the place and the decor. We arrived at 5:30 on a Friday early for dinner. They seemed like they weren't quite ready to open as the service was a bit slow upon arrival. Especially considering we were some of the only people there. But the food definitely made up for it! I ordered the lamb lollipops and escargot as appetizers. Both were amazing! I also loved the bread and oil it was served with. I couldn't get enough! The wine list by the glass was a bit lacking but the Chianti was pretty good. For my main I ordered the lobster ravioli. It was amazing as well! As it was my birthday they provided a complementary dessert. The tiramisu was some of the best I have had! Overall a great night aside from the bit of slow service at the beginning. I will for sure be back!

Yelp
UPDATE: Husband is now in hospital for severe food poisoning due to the spoiled sea bass and Lobster Stay FAR FAR away from Giovanni's. My husband and I had a nightmare of an experience. We came on a Wednesday night and sat in the main dining room. We had the whole place to ourselves, we were the only customers. Server was friendly and kind, but as soon as our food started rolling out, it got bad. We ordered the filet mignon and lobster, Sea bass with vegetables, and chicken picatta. The Sea Bass was a filet of heavy salted rubber. The fork could barely pierce it. The lobster came out alone because they forgot about the Filet Mignon. The lobster was so tough that our knife could not cut through the meat. We told the manager lady about it and she did not seem too worried and just took our plate. The vegetables tasted like a microwave steam bag with zero seasoning. Our server apologized and said she will take $15 off our meal. When we asked about the Filet Mignon our server apologized and said it will come right up. We ordered it Medium Well, and it came out Rare. At this point we were so embarrassed to have to complain again, but for a $54 plate (Filet & Lobster) we should at least have the meat cooked somewhat close to how we ordered it. The Server apologized and said she will take $5 off. I questioned her why we would be charged anything at all for those items if it was their own error? She said that she was too afraid to say anything to management because she had already taken money off. At this point, my husband didnt even want to argue and wanted to get out of this place, and so we did. I kid you not, the moment we stepped out the door, my husband vomited. He has been sick for the last 3 hours from the spoiled seafood that was served to us. We will never ever return to this place, no wonder there were no other customers, this place is a dump!! Overpriced, spoiled, and trash food quality. What an embarrassment of an establishment.

Yelp
I ordered the spaghetti & sausage to go. It was good, as always. However, I did not get a house salad that is suppose to come with it. And the kids shrimp was suppose to come with fries but it did not. . It was spaghetti instead & the fried shrimp were wet from sitting in the spaghetti. I ended up trashing it. What a disappointment.

Yelp
Lamb lollipops was a 10 for me and it's always a 10 for me and the bartender Kristiana was very amazing and helpful

Yelp
I ordered the swordfish. It was fishy. I think it should be cooked in lemon juice to combat the fishy taste. My husband got the filet mignon which he enjoyed. He ordered an old fashioned but got a negroni instead. I got a glass of white wine which was refreshing. I love the oil and bread. Staff was nice. The food did take a little while though. It was not busy on a Sunday night.

Yelp
Purchased this restaurant on Groupon about 3 months ago! Decided to finally go last night with low expectations due to previous reviews I have seen. However, when my husband and I walked in we were instantly greeted and seated! The lights were dim and the place was clean and quiet. Our waitress provided us with the best bread and oil dip I have ever had! & a small side salad with a light vinegar/oil dressing!! She then took our appetizer order which were the lollipop lamb smothered in some type of mushroom sauce, I told her I didn't like mushrooms and she recommended we put it on the side to at least try it she said "The sauce is the star of the show" so we tried it! & it was delicious!!! I was so thankful she recommended that option otherwise I would never know how tasty it was! For our entrees I ordered the shrimp linguine and my husband ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken! Both of our meals were so good!! Even though we were full we couldn't stop eating. Lol If you have never been to this place I highly recommend checking them out! You will not be disappointed!

Yelp
Had dinner here yesterday. The Pepperoni pizza was good and so was the Chicken Parm. My friends lamb chops was plentiful and the server was attentive. Had a great experience.

Yelp
This was probably the worst restaurant experience I've had in a while. First, there would be a 30 minute wait with a reservation, ok I can let that slide. When we sit down, we notice the lights kept flickering. CLEARLY, there is an electrical issue that needs to be addressed ASAP! We order our food (complimentary bread was good) and beverage and about 20 minutes later our waitress comes out and says it's possible our food would take an extra hour! I'm NOT happy b/c we already waited to be seated and I'm getting HANGRY. Apparently, there were some issues in the kitchen however, this is information we needed to know before we ordered. Some of our food comes out at 8:36. Food was ok...Nice portions. My friend arrived about 7:30 ( about 10 minutes after we are seated and orders). She still doesn't have her food. Although our waitress, LIZ, was awesome and apologetic about the delays, I really think she forgot to put in her order. We asked three times ( twice to Liz and once to the lady who said she's worked there for 25 years) to speak to the manager. Never came..My friend didn't get her food until 9:26! Unacceptable especially after the wait! AND..Her sea bass was overcooked. She had them take it back. Smh..Manager still didn't come out and the last time we were told "he left". Again, our waitress was very attentive but I see why this place has a 2.6 rating. Always trust a YELP rating!

Yelp
We went there Valentines Day weekend and let preface this by saying we have been there over the last 40 years from time to time but not in the last few years. We were great fans when it was on Market Street and owned by the late Giovanni. Those days it was the best in town and very popular. Looking at their regular menu it looked like it had become just another Italian restaurant with very generic pastas but on this weekend they had a special menu including some of the classic upscale entrees that made it so good in the past. We were greeted immediately and seated right on time. Our waitress was Haley and she came right over and was very good. She was very attentive and kept our drinks full all evening. The appetizers were very good and if you like plain old cheese sticks try the mozzarella logs, they are outstanding and anything well worth it. My wife ordered the lobster ravioli and I had the Gamberi Giovanni Livornese. First was a nice mixed salad, cold and crisp with a nice Italian dressing. Then to the main event. The ravioli and shrimp were both very good and in particular the shrimp dish took me back to the days of the old restaurant both in Greensboro and at Myrtle Beach. The bread that was brought out was very good and served with a very good but typical dipping sauce. We didn't save room for dessert so can't speak on that. The service was very good with lots of wait staff and as we finished each section of the meal they were right there to clear the setting and bring the next course. The ambiance is nice with dim lighting and candlelight. YMMV on a regular night with their regular menu but we had a great experience reminiscent of days gone by and enjoyed it very much. We will give it a shot on a regular night and I'll let you know how it goes.......

Yelp
Service was great except sheb didn't understand the wine menu. I was asked if I wanted meat sauce on the side for my veal piccata. The Piccata was good but I've never had that piccata wasn't breaded. Overall, the wine, food, and ambiance was good. It would be a great place for a date. If your a foodie or chef, I would not recommend.

Yelp
Giovanni's NEVER fails!! I have not had the privilege of dining at this fine establishment in many years. I was NOT disappointed! Same great service! Immaculate Food! Entertainment was amazing!!! The atmosphere was elegant and cozy!! Once again, may I mention the food?! I have promised myself not to ever stay away so long!!! The only other Italian favorite of mine was located in SoHo NY!! This is a great replacement! Cheers to many more!

Gale H.

Yelp
Great food! The service is questionable because they have new staff under training, but the hostess/trainer Gina made all the difference!!!! She was so helpful, courteous, friendly and made what could have been a disaster a great experience! She deserves 10 thousand stars!!!! Thank you Gina! Coach and Gale

Yelp
I believe they're having help issues. Last year service and food were awesome, this year our little waitress was overwhelmed having to take care of everyone there. Food took a long time to arrive, escargot was delivered after everyone had finished their meal.

Bob S.

Yelp
I took my family of 6 to Mothers Day lunch at Giovanni's, and everything was a disappointment. Only reason I gave it 2 stars is I had a past experience here that was good. The menu was shrunk to help serve a busy lunch crowd but the prices were still their dinner prices. The food was mediocre and service was slow. Lots of screaming kids - not the restaurant's fault. Two in our party ordered cocktails and they were very weak. Italian wedding soup came out after entree. Salad was pitiful. After tax and tip, no way this was worth $50 per person. Not even close.

Yelp
Two stars is honestly generous for this meal, but the restaurant/bar/patio is gorgeous! Food, drinks, and service were average, bad, and abysmal. We came around 6:30 and sat on the patio for live music - which was awesome! Our service was slow and often brought the wrong items or nothing at all. Their drinks were just bad - stick to beer or wine. Food was incredibly average and I would argue so many similar restaurants in the area are better and cheaper. The caprese salad (which was to be my meal, and came out first) was honestly insulting. It was served with a vegetable oil (?) and parsley! No basil, no flavorful olive oil. It was just oily tomatoes and mozzarella with no flavor. Everything else was average - once we got it. Those with Caesar's as their meal waited an additional 10 minutes for it. We were overcharged for some things and didn't receive others. Luckily, we got that squared away and didn't have to pay. I wish I could say good spot for a drink - but unfortunately cannot. Maybe a good spot for live music and a beer? Check out EPGT if you're looking for some good food in the area.

Yelp
Our book club met here and it was a breeze to make reservations. Dry friendly staff and like most, understaffed. We were sat in the main finding room since we were a large party of 8. White tablecloths and lovely place settings. The ambiance is nice and they have some fun artwork and a fish tank where the owner let us feed their lion fish! I ordered the chicken dish listed in my photos and it was delicious and cooked perfectly to absorb all of the yummy sauce it was served in. The hot bread service was great too and helped me sop up the extra sauce. Dirty martini went great with it also! I would recommend trying this place out and keep an eye out for their live music and patio events!

Khady T.

Yelp
Came in on 11/6/24 and when we sat down, the table cloth, plates and the cutlery were dirty. The server was very nice and willing to change our cutlery and plates. The lamb chops tasted good and were cooked well. I ordered the Sole and Chilean Sea Bass, both were subpar and poorly seasoned. The most disappointing part of my experience was hearing the owner come in the restaurant screaming at the top of his lungs at the cook. He yelled so much that I lost my appetite. It was humiliation at it's finest. If the owner of a restaurant does not have respect enough for his employees to address a conflict respectfully with another human being, then this place is not worth visiting again.

Yelp
I drive by this place often and have always wanted to check it out. Unfortunately it was a cold and rainy evening so sitting in the outdoor space wasn't an option but looks like a fun time out there and told they have live music on occasion. The interior could use some upgrading and overall cleaning but wasn't terrible. Loved the salt water tank! The food and drinks are pretty pricey but the flavors were delicious! I had Chicken Picatta and a cannoli for dessert. The server could have paid a bit more attention to when we needed more drinks! We would sit for long periods of time without. Overall I'd probably come back to have drinks in the outdoor space and check out the live music!

Yelp
The white table cloths were nice. The candlelight was delightful, but the food was not what i expected. This place has been a long time establishment of Greensboro and the lack of cars at dinner time I just chopped up to the weather or being a Sunday. If you were expecting to order a traditional lasagna, consider something else different. It lacked noodles. It was flat on the plate with more sauce and cheese. I've ever tasted in an Italian dish. That is all I could taste was mozzarella cheese. I was expecting nice layers of ricotta cheese with lasagna noodles sauce, and a light topping of mozzarella . This looked like a plate with one layer noodles sauce on top and melted cheese. It was disgusting. I had them remake it, but all they did was warm up the same plate and put new cheese on top. I will not be going back after bragging about the Location in High Point. This was a total disappointment. I can only say that the bread was served warm, crusty and soft on the inside served with a plate of olive oil . .

Yelp
Very off beat all around, service, food, wait time in between courses... poorly run IMHO, not a great experience! Looks like this was not a one -off as per the recent reviews. Hope they can right the ship there soon!!

Madison W.

Yelp
We dined at Giovanni's with my parents over memorial day weekend - Sunday - and the experience was not great. The restaurant was completely empty and there was no one at the host stand so we had to flag someone down to seat us. Once seated, a server didn't come to take our drink order for quite some time. We were told our server was still in training but no one was accompanying her. When we ordered, the server didn't know what was available or not for dinner and had to come back and tell us they ran out of the Lobster Ravioli at 6 pm. My mom and I ordered the Alfredo and it was not appetizing. The sauce was thick and coagulated and the noodles were overcooked. The star of the show was the rolls! The decor was night club-ish and the flower vases were salt shakers. It just didn't feel like a well loved place. It felt like a kitchen nightmare set.

Jessica R.

Yelp
We had a great dining experience here! My family and I enjoyed a great meal and had fantastic service. The lamb lollipops were superb and I thoroughly enjoyed the chicken involtini. My daughter loved her lasagne and the drink selection was great too. It's a great hidden gem with incredible food. We will definitely be back!

David G.

Yelp
I read the reviews. Went anyway. It was not good. The service was odd and uneven. We did not get our salad. He did not have time. I think he was supposed to wait to put our Order in until he had served the salad. Restaurant waitstaff 101. Not too sure about the overall cleanliness. Very strange

Ann M.

Yelp
Wonderful waitress, nice atmosphere, bad food. No one was in the restaurant because of the rain. We had the full restaurant to ourselves. Plenty of time for the cooks to do their best. The Chicken piccata resembled chicken noodle soup. Very bland, and watery. The chicken felt and looked boiled and the sauce was clear and in no way creamy. The lobster was really rough and the filet was impossible to cut through. I would go back for drinks but I'll save my Italian date nights for somewhere else.

T M.

Yelp
We went to dinner for the first time Sunday evening. We walked in nobody was there to seat us, they finally come over and sat us. The waitress did not ask what we wanted to drink my husband had to ask for a drink. The waitress took our order and we sat there for a good long time, I could see the kitchen from where I was sitting, we didn't understand why we haven't received our salad. I seen 2 Lasagna put on the counter under the heat lamp then we received our salads, as our food was still sitting there. The salad was good the dressing had no taste to it at all. Then the waitress brought the Lasagna and it was luke warm and it was horrible!!!!! I also seen someone else send there food back. To say the least, do not waste your money, bad food, bad service!!!!

Yelp
I liked the setting, it was romantic and nice. The staff was courteous. I enjoyed the shrimp parmigiana but apparently the salmon wasn't as good because the lemon flavor and excess of citric juices overwhelmed the dish. The bread and house salads were okay. One of the sides (baked potatoes) was served about 10 min after the entrees.
google avatar

Yelp
Fun night, great live music, kind Staff, marvelous Bread and a beautiful patio. I can't remember the name of the dish, but it was so good. The Caprese and Salads with their Italian is to die for. I've been told Christmas is a great time to visit. We will definitely be back before then. Jennifer is an excellent server. The hostess and food runners were very attentive.

Yelp
Horrible excuse for a Italian restaurant. Food was under seasoned and lacked any care in execution. Bread tasted like half of it was burnt. The chef should be fired and never allowed near a stove again. Only saving grace is the wait staff and large glasses of wine. Will never return to this place. I've microwaved frozen food from Publix that tastes better than this. How they managed to stay afloat for so long amazes me. They must be laundering money. The salmon tasted like it was close to going bad. None of the food was properly seasoned. It's like their trying to save money on salt. The vegetable medley reminded me of leftovers and not in a good way. The mozzarella app tasted bland like poor quality mozzarella sticks in an underwhelming red sauce. But instead of sticks their requesting you eat a loaf. The Manila clams were small and overcooked. The sauce once again was under seasoned and unbalanced. I frankly can cook better Italian at home with recipes from the internet. Don't go here, save yourself and if your stuck due to some event or something, rely on the wine to get you through.

Yelp
DISAPPOINTED. I was unaware, until the waiter informed me, that it was Furniture Market week and many of my favorite entrées were not on the menu for the night. I believe the waiter really wanted to accommodate me. It was early (around 5pm) and the restaurant was not busy. I ordered chicken piccata & my friend wanted lasagna (which had been removed from the menu for the night) but the waiter, after speaking with the chef, advised that they could take a manicotti dish and convert it into somewhat of a lasagna dish served with meat sauce. Since I was ordering a chicken dish with a white wine sauce, I requested a basic pasta without red sauce on the side. The waiter advised that the only pasta available for the night was "whatever the chef had in the back". I further inquired if the chef could take a plain noodle and add herbs and butter and garlic just to make me a basic pasta to accompany my meal and the waiter agreed. I also requested a side of asparagus, which wasn't on the menu for the night but the waiter said the chef with accommodate that request as well. When the waiter returned with our food, our jaws dropped. My pasta and asparagus were both swimming in oil & without seasoning. My friend's "lasagna creation" was an absolute mess and appeared to be stuffed manicotti, scattered with onions and peppers with a can of diced tomatoes dumped on top. Everything was horrible except for the bread and butter which were delicious. I really hate to provide a negative review as I have enjoyed Giovanni's for years. Perhaps the chef was having a bad night and I shouldn't have ordered items that were not on the menu. But the meal I received wasn't worth the the $50 tab that I paid (without drinks nor dessert). I didn't bother to take photos of my meal but should have. Again, I am really DISAPPOINTED.

Barbara M.

Yelp
Had reservation for 7. Arrived on time. Hostess said there's a 30 min wait. Why make a reservation?!? Hostess was snippy. Waiter bumped me on the ear with a heavy tray (accidentally) - two crowded; not enough help! Experience rated ZERO.

Jasyah J.

Yelp
i was a server here for a week. HORRIBLE manager and management all around. MITCHELL is not a manager anyone wants to work for. the pure and utter racism and disrespect is outrageous. they treat their employees like they're incompetent, will degrade you and make you feel less of a person. also he stays drunk on the clock and him being drunk affects his way of managing. please save yourself the time, effort and energy of working here and eating here. I've witnessed him call a group of guests "ratchet," behind their backs to another server as well. The restaurant would be a whole lot better without him as a manager.

Yelp
Absolutely horrible service and food, I ordered a pizza that sat on the counter for roughly 15 minutes before being brought to the table, once it showed up I asked for it to be heated back up and after 10 more minutes in the oven it came back raw in the dough. Also got zero service after being seated, had to ask anyone that passed for drinks, bread, etc. 0 STAR REVIEW

Yelp
First impression is lovely when you arrive. It was incredibly cold but the outdoor area looked amazing and I would definitely return during warmer weather to check it out. The dining area was lovely with beautiful art and intimate seating. Our server was friendly, though a bit pushy on the drinks for my friends' taste (kept asking if we were ready for tequila shots ). The service was extremely slow, which is why I only had one glass of wine...I wasn't sure when I'd get the second. My friend's boyfriend waited over 30 minutes for a 2nd bottled beer. Our salads came after we'd been seated for over an hour and food 30 minutes after that. While there probably could've been one more server, it seemed like more attentive service was given to other tables where the tip wasn't guaranteed. In terms of the food, it was fine. For $28 dollars for a small plate of pasta with 3 shrimp, I wasn't blown away by the flavor...or the overall presentation, for that matter. I was not happy when I found salad mixed in with my pasta when it was served and another piece when I went to put it in the to go container. I mean, it's edible but clearly there's not a lot of attention to detail for a fine dining restaurant. I also had to get a second to go container because the first one was wet and had brown spots (probably just coffee) when it was brought to the table. My server brushed it off as "just water" and didn't even offer an "I'm sorry about that". Would I return? Maybe for wine on the outdoor patio.

Jasey S.

Yelp
me and my boyfriend went here for valentine's day and there was a limited menu but we still ordered and i got chicken parm with a salad and my boyfriend got the five cheese ziti with salad. My food did not have a very good taste at all the the cheese tasted fake and the salads were DISGUSTING and are drowned in vinaigrette dressing. my boyfriend liked his but did not have enough noodles for all the sauce. the best thing was the water and bread. Also the table beside us was served a raw steak and was only given a small discount. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!

Yelp
This was a disaster from the get-go. The waitress we started out with disappeared as soon as the 8 people in our party gave her our order. She was then replaced by another waitress. After almost 2 hours, we finally got our food. By then, the waitress was so stressed she started CRYING when she realized she didn't get all our orders right. She apologized and said they were short-staffed (which was possible, I guess). She then said the owner was threatening to withhold her tips for the night. Some of us were skeptical until one person in my party went to the bathroom and found 3 more waitresses in there crying. Our daughter had just graduated from college, so we were all happy from that and feeling pretty generous. We all chipped in for a tip that was equal to about half the total cost of the meal. Speaking for myself, the food itself (I had swordfish) was cooked fairly well. It was a busy night, I get it, but the service was not the best I have ever experienced. I'm pretty sure I won't be going back there, at least not anytime soon.

Yelp
I have never had an all around worse experience anywhere in my life. I don't even have enough space for everything I have to say, but I'll try. Bartender sent out substitutes for drinks bc they were "out" of what was ordered, drinks were half full. Server was mostly no where to be found. Waited over an hour for half the party to receive ice cold food. Ranch dressing clearly had been sitting in cooler for over a week with no lid & completely hard, apps were disgusting, ended up canceling the rest of our food after two hours of no food. As I asked for manager I was flagged by a table asking me for water, I obliged as I let them know I don't work there but clearly the only way they would get any service. Other tables were waving people down bc they hadn't been greeted in an hour of being seated. I could keep going, but I won't. Was told by the manager that he is new and going to get this place in order, so genuinely praying for him!!

Yelp
I made reservations for this outing early in the day. We bought wine and enjoyed our dinner despite our treatment here. I specifically requested a table for 3 closest to the stage with covering. This closer table (pictured here) sat empty because they refused to seat us there when we asked to be moved to that table in the lower deck. The decks seem to be sorted by color (depending on the patron), which was quite obvious to my group and me. Although we were a party of 3, (later there were 4 of us)the staff said it was reserved for a party of 6. I didn't believe that for a second because if that were the case, at some point they would have LOST their reservation because they never showed. My question remains this: Why not allow folk who are actually there supporting the band and choosing to spend their money enjoy the seating they requested when you obviously LIED about it being reserved??? Was it because we were just a group of Black women you decided you were just not going to accommodate? Of course your response is likely "no" but that is exactly the vibe your staff exudes!!!!! Alexis, our adorable server, was the best part of this dining experience. The rest of y'all need EDI training ASAP. I am definitely telling others and warning them that while the restaurant is a nice vibe and I love live music, the subtle racism spoils my appetite.

Yelp
Three stars on yelp; 3 1/2 stars on TripAdvisor; 3 1/2 stars on open table. Obviously there is a reason why this place has these types of reviews. You will also notice that when they receive a bad review, the restaurant doesn't even think to respond to a review or to try and make amends to a customer that was disappointed. Tells you a lot about the ownership and management of this restaurant. They don't care! I am so sorry I helped my daughter in recommending this restaurant for dinner with her friends. Save yourself the trouble and take it from me, as a restaurant owner, stay away from this place. They made a reservation on open table and arrived on time and yet they were required to wait 40 minutes for an open table reservation. How is this possible? And during their weight of 40 minutes they weren't even given the courtesy of, "can I offer some appetizers to you?" "Can I buy a round of drinks?" Clearly they are not concerned for customer service. To make matters worse this was a first time visit to this establishment. So, you know what they say, first impressions are lasting impressions. It's unfortunate when you have restaurant owners and managers who operate this way think that they can just slap some food on a plate and get by with poor management. One day it'll catch up to them.

Yelp
Dined here for my boyfriends birthday 2/11 with his 2 teenage daughters. Nothing on website or Facebook page indicated there was a fixed menu. Seriously considered ordering an appetizer, paying then going elsewhere. Should have. $25 for fettuccine Alfredo with no protein? I ordered lobster ravioli that I'm fairly certain had no lobster. Boyfriend order filet that was 'ok'. Other entree was seafood pasta which seemed to be the only redeeming meal. Entrees we're to come with salad ( lettuce, 1/2 cucumber slice, 2 cubes moz, 1 grape tomato) and veggies (we never got). Did have wine and a couple cocktails but for $200 waaaaay overpriced. Mainly wished we had known it was a fixed menu. Likely will try neighboring Marisol next time.

Yelp
Honestly, I didn't even get to the food. The way leadership was presented at this place made me lose my appetite. I'm speaking about the Owner specifically. Pretty sure I heard homophobic slurs mentioned in the direction of a staff member FROM THE OWNER. Also, the place just had an unsanitary, unsavory atmosphere. Some of the client facing staff, the people that actually keep people coming back, seemed too kinda to be working in such a place. Save your hard earned money and your positive energy for a more deserving establishment. Or just go to cookout. My camp and I will NOT be supporting.

Yelp
It's rare that I rate restaurants low. I am a big fan of supporting small businesses and I have worked in restaurants for half of my life! However, this was the first time in a long time that I can say I probably won't return to a place. When we walked in, the person who greeted us didn't seem very excited about our being there! The restaurant was relatively empty and she seemed annoyed. We were seated and our server came to greet us. HE WAS WONDERFUL. I believe his name was Robby, and he was the best part of the dining experience. He took care of us completely and was beyond nice trying to make up for everything else. I have never heard "we are out of that" so much in 1 evening. They were out of Ribeyes, they were out of sweet tea... it just kept being said over and over again. The food was actually pretty good, but things were just not as I expected for the price tag that comes along with it. It is a higher priced restaurant for the area and it just left a little to be desired in my opinion. Our evening came to a very abrupt ending as a mouse started scampering all around the table, and under our chairs. We were outside on the patio, but that is never a comforting sight at a restaurant! There wasn't live music and it sounds like there usually is. Perhaps the live music would have made it feel a bit more "worth it". ‍

Yelp
DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I ate here last week for a family birthday, and we will NEVER return. .... IF I COULD RATE THIS PLACE NEGATIVE FIVE I F*%CKING WOULD!!! I had a WORM crawling in my salad. I brought it to the waiter's attention and she began to makes jokes out of it stating that as a young child, she was a tomboy ate worms and didn't get sick and die. Very inconsiderate, and uncalled for. The manager came over to the table and made excuses on to why the lettuce had WORMS in it instead of apologizing. He stated that they had gotten fresh produce truck that do, and the lettuce was in the box on the floor. The manager very inconsiderate of the entire situation. He was very insensitive as well!! No apology was given until AFTER I stated that I no longer wanted the rest of my food that was cooking. He became upset and walked away from our large party, as everyone else canceled their orders. He offered us half off meals because the "food was already on the grill" .... He did NOT honor daily special that was listed on website... He stated that "the girl was supposed to take it off yesterday," but the specials have been listed before the dinner and still are!

Yelp
Awful experience. First we were given a limited menu to choose from, but the table next to us had a full menu. Our appetizers came out with the dinner which was 30 minutes later. They didnt even bother to bring our side dish. Kept requesting it they finally brought it 15 mintues later. Food was not that good either. Will never be back.

Yelp
Whoever manages this restaurant failed the WAFFLE HOUSE SCHOOL OF RESTAURANT MANAGEMENT! The wine was served in plastic cups, I was brought someone else's dinner, and it took about 30 minutes to bring the grated cheese we requested for the side pasta that was brought out when the food was cold. On a brighter note, the food wasn't bad, the waitstaff tries very hard, and the band was pretty good. Very overpriced for what they deliver.

Yelp
The worst pizza ever, it was cold ,over cooked, very little sauce or cheese . To top it off it was not even sliced!!! What a joke. Did a take out and was told 15-20 minutes to pick up, gave it 30 mins and waited another 30 minutes. They tried to get me to order drinks several times and I was not having any of that .It was not even busy at 5;15 , not sure how they stay in business.

Yelp
I have been several times and at best it has been average. However on 8-10-22 they set a new level of poor performance. Everything was wrong. Service was erratic. They seat us and ask if we want an appetizer and a drink but just sat down and had not seen a menu yet. The wine menu is very weak. They have the typical cheap wines we all know then jump to 2 obvious expensive wines that everyone knows. Nothing in between. They ran out of mushrooms. Ran out of onions. My dish on the picture was a veal with a lemon sauce with tomatoes. Their idea of a sauce was a eddge of lemon and 1 tomato wedge that wasn't even ripe. See picture. They forgot to bring the side pasta dish with a meat sauce. There was zero meat in it. They never told us what salad dressing options were. Then wife asks if they can do a expresso martini. It's not difficult. The bartender uses coffee/expresso and vodka, squirts some chocolate on the rim and called it a day. I took it back after we paid and set it on the bar. I stil tipped 15% after all that. I go to this place and sit at the bar and order appetizers and drinks and its usually ok. The place is right in the neighborhood and convenient. It has a nice outdoor area but the food is just too erratic. It could be a great restaurant. Very little competition and no Italian on this side of town. Sometimes the food is average but this night was wrong in every area. The place was almost empty so that should have been a clue.

Yelp
I like this restaurant, I like the feel of the place. The service is fine, but the food is hit or miss. I had Pecan Encrusted Trout. This I will not be getting again. It was a dry piece of fish and so much chopped pecan piled high that you couldn't see the dried out fish. Also on my list of flops is the lasagna and the Stromboli. A great hit are the Italian nachos. You are served a giant dish of nachos with a sausage white sauce with a kick. Delicious and feeds 25. I kid you not. The eggplant is also very tasty. Like most Italian restaurants in the area, it is just average. But it's a good regular spot for an off night that you really don't feel like cooking. Try it. I will be back.
