Pasted by to grab a couple slices for bite in between errands. Cheese slice and pepperoni slice each. They were decent Giovanni's for me isn't some wow slam your mama pizza but it's cool for on the go rush let me get something in my belly.

We came here to grab a quick bite. I ordered the chicken parmigiana, the flavor of the sauce was good. I've had better. The ambiance and aesthetics at the bar was beautiful. Once you go into the dinning area, the aesthetic looked like a fast food restaurant or a chain restaurant. The service was fast which I really enjoyed.

I was a regular 10 years ago, my daughter wanted to treat me for fathers day. So I suggested that we have lunch at the G bar, I haven't been there in years. The seafood dishes were Pretty good. I ordered linguine with shrimp, and broccoli with a garlic sauce. My daughter had pasta primavera. Well the portions were smaller than I remember. The food was a 6 out of 10. And the food was a bit pricey. Your definitely not getting your money's worth. Sorry but I don't think that they will see me again anytime soon.

This was basically the only thing in this neighborhood where you can sit comfortably and socialize with a friend. The food is okay. My friend and I ordered chicken pesto farfalle some broccoli rabe. They had a full bar so I ordered a Riesling and it was pretty good! The service was decent and laid back.

Extremely Disappointed, the amount of money and lack of chicken francize in full pan and1/2 platter limited grilled vegetables. Customer service reply-no one ever has complained There was no Managerial compensation in word or deed.. Was informed chicjken had 40 pieces we counted 31 ands some as small as 2" After 35 years of using Giovanni's , this women's shelter will never use this restaurant again. Staff were present and all agreed this was terrible. Shelter spent 819.00.

First time ordering from this restaurant and I enjoyed it! My boyfriend who has ate from this restaurant raves about their food. Very rare to find good pizza in the Bronx. We decided to go with pasta and chicken for our delivery. I ordered a dish I never had tried the Chicken Francese...it was delicious! The pasta was cooked and seasoned so well and the chicken was fluffy and very juicy! My boyfriend chose to get chicken parmesan and asked to get penne pasta and instead got spaghetti. Unfortunately he didn't like the pasta and only ate the chicken :/ also I love when Italian bread is given but sadly ours was partially drenched in oil and wasn't edible anymore. I would still like to order pizza from here one day though.

I recently contacted Giovanni for a large catering order for an event. Due to ***my*** miscommunication, the restaurant had the wrong date for the order, so when we called to confirm they hadn't begun making the food. WELL, we asked them to get it done as soon as they could (we needed lunch) and I was extremely impressed they got it all together and delivered it fresh and hot within an hour. All the food was delicious, pizza especially, and everyone was happy. Thank you Giovanni for your professionalism, fixing my mistake, and coming through for the team.

I have been to Giovanni's for many years and the food always tastes wonderful. The Veal & The Pizza is mouth-watering. My late brother used to get the meatballs delivered all the time which is a testament to how good the food is. With my family at Giovanni's wonderfully tasty Italian food around the block, they have a bar with great Latin Jazz Bands. My late friend Steve Pouchie used to jam there. One of Sister Cookie's little girls wants to be a caterer and the other one wants to go into the restaurant business.

The atmosphere in the bar is nice, Engine is good bartender, friendly and the drink is really delicious

Few things to note here I went in mainly to grab a quick bite nearby coming out of Jury Duty which I was gonna head back in a few minutes whilst my phone is dying. I order 2 slices and come to find out they charging me $9 for quality I can find on my block for $4. Doesn't end there though lmfao, I find an outlet by a garbage disposal which I asked the workers before even using because I was on 1% so I take a seat right next to my stuff mind you the place is vacant. One of the workers who I can describe as an old white grey haired lady is mean mugging me the whole time I'm waiting for my phone to charge properly before I head back to court, she leaves and comes back and hovers over my phone to tell me they only let people charge they phones for 5 mins because they have a lot of people who need to use it????? But the place is empty... I just got up and left appalled and I'm likely to never step in there ever again

Very fast service (Pickup or delivery). Good food. My number 1 go-to for any pizza in my neighborhood.

I stopped by yesterday, having never been there before. Not sure what I wanted, I ordered pizza, and then a pasta and chicken entree. Both were absolutely fantastic. The meal was sublime. The service was spot on, and the blondish hostess could not have been more friendly and accommodating. The check was reasonable and my gratuity was well appreciated by my server. Overall, a wonderful experience after a tough day of work. I would recommend Giovanni Restaurant/Pizzeria to anyone. Kudos, to the staff at Giovanni!

Ordered takeout but I've dined here for years; for their brunch and at G'Bar. I like their fried calamari, buffalo wings, and fresh pizzas. They serve great drinks as well. I've attended Mother's Day brunches, bridal showers, and just stopping in for dinner & takeout. I would recommend their food; order online for takeout or stop in.

When I lived in the Bronx, I used to eat from this place every week. I haven't lived in the Bronx in over 12yrs. I was in the neighborhood today & was craving their food. Specifically the Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken. Let me tell you, I'm so pissed! Obviously they must have new cooks cause the food was not how it used to be. The flavors were completely off from what I remember. Even ordered a side of chicken parm & I couldn't even eat it cause it was Horrible!! At least for me & my son it was. We ended up packing it to go & just gave it to some homeless ppl. I really can't believe I spent $245 on that nasty food! Outrageous!! The quality of food does not match the prices they charge. I gave 2 stars cause I ordered 2 Tennessee Iced Teas & they were pretty good & our server was really nice but I will NEVER step foot back in there. EVER!!

$$$$$$$ I've been here dozens of times, and I know Giovanni likes to style itself as a some kind of upscale place, with gourmet food, but it isn't; it's very average, and *that's ok*. The food is decent, and I would have no problem eating here, EXCEPT... well, let's check a few of the prices, shall we? A chicken Caesar salad is $26. Mozzarella sticks, $15. A *cold turkey and Swiss wrap* is $25. A slice of cake, $10. A large vegetarian pizza, $34. Spaghetti with sauce... that's it... $18. A *side order of broccoli*, $12. These are on their site. I'm not sure what planet these people are on, but their prices are completely insane. Inflation isn't that bad, and this neighborhood, well... we're not very upscale people; we just want some decent food at a decent price (and really, you're not doing a bad job on the food part, so...).

Have to give this place it props best pizza in the Bronx , cam here for regular slice and margarita slice and they were amazing

25 dollars for a bbq chicken wrap. Bbq sauce on chicken , onions, mozzarella cheese for 25 dollars ? A side of French fries for 10 dollars ? Where do u think u are wall st?

The prices in this place are outrageous. The service is horrible. The place looks very dirty and unkept especially the front and side. Certainly not appealing given their Madison Avenue food prices. The food is spotty. The portions are large - though. The place is dark and the music is loud and difficult to converse over your meal. Definitely never returning to this place.

Food is so expensive and they don't even clean the shrimp well! I would expect for the money & price I paid the shrimp would at least be cleaned well but nope! That was so disgusting to me. As you can see in the picture they left all the shrimps dump in it :(

The drink was delicious, very good service from Engin the best bartender. I really recommend the place

I would do 5 stars because portions are large and food is good and my to-go was ready on time. However, I noticed a $3 up charge after I picked up my food. The only thing I can think of is they charged me MORE to not add cheese to my Caesar salad. They certainly didn't have to do anything with the bruschetta and those were the only two things I ordered. Flummoxed for sure.

The food was terrible. Bland isn't even the word. The taste factor was just not there. I really don't believe in wasting food but I couldn't finish this time. I appreciate all the others for their honest reviews. I just wish I had read them prior to experiencing it

We ordered a large pie along with a large order of spaghetti and meatball and spent 60$ in total . They delivered my order and I noticed they didn't provide me with plates so I called back and they have the audacity to tell me they don't provide plates unless is more then one pie .... Never again from this place

I had not been to Giovanni's in about a year. I ordered take out tonight. I was shocked when the bill came - $25 a sandwich for chicken marsala! When I got home, I grabbed an old menu from them in my menu collection (from about two years ago) and the price was $11 a sandwich. What kind of Bronx Pizzeria would charge $25 for a hot chicken sandwich? A place that's a RIP-OFF. Never again...

I used to love Giovanni Pizza and ordered quite often to Harlem. I tip well, so the delivery people are happy coming to Harlem. After getting hung up on twice yesterday while trying to order, I tried ordering direct from Giovanni today..they no longer have my info stored in the system, so after gibing them that, I was told they won't deliver for under $50?????? Have they turned into a steak house?????? I cannot ever use them again. Too bad, I was a great customer and used to recommend them all the time...

I wouldn't go back. The feedback here is valid. Ironically though, I think this restaurant has a chance to recover. The food was decent. The service was pretty bad from the waitstaff. Clear language barrier from our server. Couldn't tell you her name because she didn't introduce herself. She lacked enthusiasm and gave us a lackluster experience. The staff lacked basic understanding of their menu. We went for brunch, I wanted to order the steak and eggs, and when I asked what cut of steak it was, she replied, "beef". I'm thinking, I hope so, but what cut? She had to ask her manager, who also wasn't sure, and said he think it's a NY strip. When it came, I took one look and could tell It's actually a shell steak. They had a pre-fixed brunch menu that allowed for 2 mimosas, an appetizer, an entree and coffee for $37. For our appetizer we ordered the crab cakes. I enjoyed the texture, and that it was mostly crab and not fillers like some other restaurants, however it was cold. I was so confused with the lack of attention we were receiving from the staff being that we were 1 of 3 small tables there. Staff seemed to be conversing amongst themselves as our food got cold and rarely checked in. We ordered peach Bellinis, and they gave us apple Bellinis. We ordered our steaks medium well, and it came out moo'ing. My friend was so frustrated with the experience, she just sent the steak back. They took it off the bill, but charged us more! The Bellinis and the crab cakes separately cost more than the pre fixe option. What kind of manager would look to remedy a bad situation by charging more? I had to ask him to kindly take $10 off the brunch price and he took $10 off the more expensive option. So essentially we saved $6 for taking off an entree off the bill. Also, we are still waiting for our coffee that never came. I recommend that management undergo an entire training and revamp their service team. The food isn't bad and the restaurant itself on the inside is decent looking. From what my friend told me, this place was the spot once upon a time ago. The only way to save this place is a total enhancement of customer service

I don't know...buf this shrimp better be made if gold... I just ordered shrimp and French fries and the bill is almost 30 bucks???? I'll definitely give the update from my wife when she eats it, but...GIVE ME A BREAK

Pasta and pizza are delicious! Best pizza in that area! The pasta is a little bit pricey but it's because it's really good!

Pizza was good but a bit pricey considering it's not in Manhattan also meatball parmigiana hero they asked $19 for one and I thought they were insane to even ask that much, I've worked in the pizzeria business for over 15 years and been to many pizza restaurants and never have I seen it that expensive that's nuts I'm surprised they're still in business not like this is a money area that people can afford it SMH, like I said pizza tastes good but not worth the money they're asking it's like they're to Recoup their Covid losses by over charging for food

Cannot believe anyone would rate this place less than five stars based on the food and service. I had tortellini soup and steak salad, the steak was like butter, I haven't had such good meat since I can't remember when. My friend ate minestrone soup and linguini with shrimp and broccoli. There was as much shrimp as linguine in the dish. She loved it. The bread basket with the garlic knots and the oil with tomato in it was great too. The service was excellent as well, the waiter constantly refilled our glasses of water and kept stopping by to ask how everything was. Just as good as Arthur Ave. if not better. A bit expensive, but totally worth it. A surprise to me, I will definitely be going back again.

If there were a 4.5 rating option I probably would've given that. That said, I've been a patron of this restaurant for 10+ years (less so after their Fordham Road location closed but I still make the trek to their 149th St locale occasionally...out of my personal travel comfort zone but it is that good when you're craving some authentic tasting Italian here in my part of the BX. MY go-to is usually the lasagna...although last time I went there a few months ago the price jumped significantly (COVID-related I suppose), it was still as good as I remembered. The seafood platter with pasta noodles and Marinara sauce has never ever disappointed me. Never had a Chicken Parmesan from Giovanni's but I'm sure would have kicked the last Chicken Parmesan I had's ass. See previous review if you need clarification on that.

so I've come here everyday after school with my baby and we get two cheese slices with no problem. today one of the cashiers were really nasty and moving really fast. after making my regular purchase and then adding a $1.50 bottle of water she takes $6 from me and argues with me about what she takes then realizes she was wrong. Tells me I'm right and still argues with me about giving her $6. Her attitude is always nasty and she's very argumentative. My family has been coming here for yearsssssss and we've never had a problem.

Ordered some Bruschetta to go and you would think that they would have put the tomato toppings on the side, but they didn't so when it got home it was a soggy mess. Smh

Check in on yelp was given a free conolis, no one at the place knew about this free conolis. Make sure you know you won't get a free cannoli if you check with yelp.

Buyer Beware! I'm not sure what's up, perhaps new management?? Please heed all the reviews of this restaurants business practices, which have severly gone way down. I too was a long time and loyal patron, but after just being swindled out of essentially $119, no more. We were having a recent small get together and two days out , ordered three of their half platters, wings, mixed and coconut shrimp via their website. They call us on day of event to tell us we must pick up as they are over scheduled. Okay, we were understanding although this is last minute!!! So, my boyfriend rushes over to get the platters which included a free cheese pie. Nice, right? Well, dye to time, he didn't open the platter box and check there in the restaurant, but trustef all was there. WRONG MOVE, because when he got home and we opened the box to start serving guest, NO COCONUT SHRIMP platter. We immediately call and the manager states, they ran out of coconut shrimp and will give me a credit on my credit card, which should appear in 2-3 business days. WHY WASN'T THIS ADVISED ON DAY OF OR AT LEAST AT PICK UP? No communication at all that box was missing pre-paid for platter. To add insult, the other two platters were soggy and wings appeared to be old and made days ago! It gets even worse - the free pizza was absolutely in-eatable trash - hard as rock! So, it went into the trash. I was soooo embarrassed and had to re-order emergency food elsewhere. After a week, no credit appears and after several phone calls to the restaurant and being put on hold, I finally was forced to contact my credit card company to dispute the $60 never received platter. Get this - although, I only disputed the $60 coconut shrimp platter, when ALL OF THE PLATTERS WERE DISGUSTING, Giovanni's actually told my credit card company that they fulfilled completely the order!!!?? THEY ARE TRULY SWINDLERS AND LIARS and NOW SERVERS OF POOR QUALITY FOOD! If you do order from them after reading all these critical reviews, please, please, no matter how large, check your order carefully and immediately right there at the counter.

So we had quite a few work lunches at Gios. The food is consistently amazing. The bread/garlic knots are like crack especially when dipped in the spiced olive oil. The pizza, the eggplant parm, and the meals are amazing. My favorite dish is the toscana salad. It is full of crab meat and grilled shrimp. It is the perfectly decadent lunch salad. Love it! My only problem is with the service. It is slow (although very friendly and pleasant). Usually, since we go in a group of 6+, half of us are almost finished with our food before the other half of the food arrives. However, the food is good enough that we forgive the slowness and feast

Unfortunately, I had to take the time to write this review because of the horrible experience while lunching with co-workers. From the moment we sat down, the employees were arguing and complaining and the manager kept cursing. Also, the place was definitely not ready for business today as we had to suffer more than 45 minutes through their clanking and throwing of flatware and plates. Another worker was sitting at the bar with her head down. Cannot make this up. WILL NOT BE COMING BACK.

Restaurant was empty , I got there around 5 pm today and as I walk in with my friend a man working there just staring at us . Instead of welcoming us I said for two and he just pointed to a table to sit down . He stood a few feet away from us and never said anything to us until 15 minutes later he comes to us and ask what we will like. NO CUSTOMER service . Sorry I will go to another place .

From the bread, oil and vinegar, through the wings to the pizza, the food and ambiance downstairs made this is enjoyable dining ecperience. May update with a cannolli review! Visit and enjoy!

Haven't been to Giovanni's in a while, but when I do come, I am never disappointed. The food is always good. The Alfredo Fettuccine is a good selection. I didn't get it this time, but the Lobster Ravioli is one of my favorites there.

Ample servings, great value, delicious food! We ordered for delivery and we're pleasantly surprised. The vegetarian pizza was perfect, the rest of the meals were deliciously authentic! Highly recommend!!

I've been got to to this restaurant since it first opened some 20+ years, and today is the first time i have been disappointed in the service which received there, the waitress which serviced us was a bit flighty and distracted with her service, we placed our order which included an appetizer which she forgot to order, she apologized but to me there was no excuse since the restaurant wasn't crowded. She did offer to comp our drinks or even offer us a dessert on the house, nothing. The food is still good thank goodness, but something about the service has to change.

The food is great. In fact we used to order delivery from them pretty often. But a $50 minimum for delivery is ridiculous. Not sure whos the "Service Fee" goes to on GrubHub but let's work something out! (No delivery fee if have Amazon Prime - but they add a "Service Fee")

I would give it a 5?star for food, but the staff are terrible, rude and not friendly at all. I've visited their restaurant often and I will not continue to patronize such an establishment! You say goid afternoon, they say nothing. You say thank you after you receive your food and they still say nothing. That has happen several times. Unacceptable! Customer service is horrible. Food is great. You make a decision. I won't be returning.

I know the pandemic hit the restaurant business the hardest however the service and the quality of food has gone down considerably. I order a large cheese and tomato pizza. Requested half eggplant. Why did I receive the eggplant in pieces. I'm accustomed to have the eggplant plant sliced whole not in pieces. This place as well as others in the city has gone down.

The best Linguini and Clam Sauce. So worth the ride. Nice glass of Wine. Two meals for me but i am extremely happy. Lady and Guys at counter are so nice too. They even listen when i tell them I am Italian which is clearly not true.

Decent food. Horrible service. Overpriced. Only nice dining option in the area, which is what drew us in. Stayed at Bronx Opera House Hotel. Walking to Yankee Stadium, not a whole lot of options of decent looking establishments to eat. This place is inviting from outside, typical pizzeria look inside, so we were OK with our choice to dine here. Service is awful. Food is good. But when your food comes long before you have a fork to eat it with (Had already asked our waiter, then another waiter, then after no forks from either...walked to counter to get some...not handed any. Had to wait another 5 minutes) that's pretty freakin bad. So our meals looked great, but to wait another 10 minutes to get forks?!?!? That's unacceptable. As for drinks, ordered those first. Water and a Dogfish Head 90 minute IPA. The meal came before our drinks did. Waiter hands me a ginger beer, which is a type of soda in a bottle. Tell him immediately if his mistake, and we don't see him again for another 10 minutes. So have my meal, no fork to eat it with, and no drink to quench my thirst. Not happy. When we finally got our forks, the food was good. My husband had chicken parmigiana with spaghetti and I had fried shrimp with a salad. Specified no tomatoes...it had a cherry tomato. Whatever. I'm starving, I picked it off. Food was yummy. Not great. Would expect better Italian. Overpriced. Won't be back.

We were seated right away with no reservation for a Saturday brunch. Food was great. Drinks were good. Our issue was with our server, who we found out later was the acting manager, because the true manager wasn't in Yet. Our bill came out to $106 for 2 people. We were going to share the bill evenly. I gave a $100 bill and my friend paid with a credit card. We were so deep into our conversation that when the waiter picked up the bill with $ and credit card we forgot to mention to split the bill. He came back with just the credit card where he charged $6 on. We told him we forgot to mention it should have split, and asked if he could re-do the bill and delete the charge. He said he couldn't. Who charges $6 on a credit card bill??!!! We felt he shouldn't have been a waiter if he doesn't know to ask if we were splitting the bill. We also feel he could have reversed the charge. Why couldn't he? He was very rude and since he wasn't really a waiter, we didn't tip him. He shouldn't be serving customers if he doesn't know the job of a waiter.
