Had never been here. Sat outside. Massive menu . Looks like a great spot to have in the neighborhood for everyone. Had the torta and really enjoyed it. My friend got tostadas and also really enjoyed.

Just moved to the area and had Giovanni’s a couple of times and never lets you down. Food is great, service is great. Highly recommend this spot!

Great food, friendly staff( including some beautiful waitresses if I must say so) and a really good place to watch all the World Cup games. When you leave, be sure to look down 47th Ave for one of the best views of the Empire State Building

Delicious authentic food! The tacos alone will keep bringing me back but the service is just as great. Can’t wait to explore more of the menu!

Great food and really reasonable prices. Pizza is excellent and so are the quesadillas. I’ll definitely be back there on my next visit to Queens.

This place has the BEST Mexican tacos of all of Sunnyside (and I tried all of them). I specifically love their tacos de chorizo and my parents love their tacos de cecina and de lengua.

Polite staff, however not good pizza, the last few times my pizza was very flaccid/soggy in the middle and when I phoned about this tonight, I was told I need to ask for it to be crisp so it's not soggy even though when I placer my order I mentioned it happened before and to please make sure it's done, yet when I got home it was soggy again, no apology or offer to replace it, just my fault because I declined well done which seems like that would mean a dark or burned pie, didn't realise I had to ask for a properly cooked pizza, this is an NYC first. Maybe they should stick to only one type of cuisine. From now on, I will just go to Domino's or Little Caesar's where you don't have to ask for a properly cooked pizza, it comes that way automatically.

Food and service are always top quality. Everything I've had was always delicious but some of my favorites include the Nachos Texanos, chicken tacos, and torta de Milanesa de pollo. Coffee and iced coffee is surprisingly pretty good, which I didn't expect from a Mexican restaurant. Also very good bacon egg and cheese. Very family friendly ambiance and accommodating.

Favorite place for authentic Mexican food in Queens! And the pizza is always good!! I normally get the carnitas tacos but I've also had the chicken and cecina tacos in the past which were both great. Staff is always very kind. Overall, great food for great prices!!

Despite being around forever, Giovanni's feels like one of the lesser known restaurants in this part of Woodside / Sunnyside. As one other reviewer noted, this is really a Mexican restaurant that just so happens to also serve pizza. Every time I've ever walked past this place it was always full of teenagers coming out of school or Mexican families on the weekend feasting in harmony. The restaurant is nestled along the quiet end of Woodside's 47th Ave and 45th Street and is relatively easy to miss. The vibe is fairly casual, with just enough seating for solo seating and group fun. The setup is more of a takeout situation, where pizzas line up the counter as well as knots, and calzones. Delivery is clearly a big part of their business and they're definitely on top it. I suspect Giovanni is no longer around or the name was meant to attract pizza lovers into believing it was a legit Italian spot. Most of the Italian fare is limited to pizza, calzones, and pastas. Pizza wise, it's not ground breaking but it definitely works especially when in dire straits. To no one's surprise, the Mexican fare is solid. It is also of a fairly highly price point, which might have more to do with the gentrification of Woodside. $14 for sopa de mole de olla? $16 for pollo a la mexicana? $16 for mixed enchiladas? $14 for a tinga / al pastor / cecina quesadilla or flauta? I haven't even mentioned the seafood yet and my wallet is sweating bullets. Thankfully, the pizza is still pretty reasonable. A large one topping can be had for less than $20. That's currently less than what most of any of the pizzerias in the neighborhood charge. A couple of other tidbits: * They deliver beer. That's amazing. (Though one must show ID at the time of delivery) * They have a burrito pizza. Yes, it's exactly what one might be thinking (literal burritos baked into a pizza pie) and it's ghetto fabulous ... in the best way.

Food is good. Only eaten there in person once or twice (usually order delivery) but when I have, service is good too.

One of my friends who lived in Mexico told me this was one of the best authentic Mexican food places in Sunnyside and I believe him. In fact a lot of their food neither looks nor tastes like what we generally find in Mexican spots. They have a long menu and I have not even tried most of it, but whatever I have tried has been amazing and fresh. Their Pozole is THE BEST Pozole in Queens so start with that. Also, I can't believe some of the reviews of perfectly nice regular neighborhood spots. I see a one star Kareny one below complaining they saw one of the staff put food in his mouth before making pizza? Is that your complaint? Some people need to grow up. I see that the business owner actually responded to that review. What a nice person you are sir! You have my business, my colleagues business (they are dying for me to return to work from office so I can bring them food from your restaurant), and you have lots of people in the neighborhood who support your business.

They always read and listen to my order instructions on Seamless. The pizzas have gotten better and the crust no longer tastes like a cracker. They always also deliver on time. Once in a blue moon they would deliver my order late but it would only be a few minutes longer than the ETA. The prices are the best for what you get. Giovanni's is a great place to order from whether delivery or pickup. Don't hesitate, try them out.

Giovanni never disappoints, delivery is super fast. Their Mexican and pepperoni pizzas are amazing. They also have great chicken parm sandwiches. They open till super late so it's our go to whenever we are hungry late late at night lol

i was excited to try their pizza until i saw the staff put food in his mouth and proceeded to make the pizza. i'd hate to cause them their business but in times of covid you should not risk ordering from them. choose life over business -- covid19 is not a joke! This restaurant should STOP putting people's lives at risk!

This place should seriously consider rebranding themselves as a Taqueria. Having been born and raised in Queens (and having visited SF and LA many times) I thought I had a grasp on the best tacos in NYC. I was wrong. I ordered lengua and carnitas tacos here. The lengua was fresh, pure melt-in-your-mouth goodness. The carnitas was very flavorful, tender, and seasoned to perfection. The tortillas were soft and chewy and perfectly matched the quality, flavor and texture of their contents. The garnishes on both varieties were sparse (as they should be) but highlighted the flavor of the meat beautifully. The tacos were HUGE - I ordered four, and enjoyed every bite, but could have been satisfied with two. I can confidently state that this is the closest taco NYC has to those in the Mission District in San Francisco and the best I've had anywhere in NYC. I will come again and order delivery many, many times. Thank you for being here!

Yes, they do pizza. But this place is really a Mexican restaurant. And a good one at that. I had the Steak Chipotle, which when not inflaming my mouth was just incredible. God bless spicy things. You might want a side of sour cream though. They do everything from full on dinner platters to a fairly large list of Burritos, Tortas, Enchiladas, etc. Don't go expecting anything fancy, this is just another great Sunnyside hole in the wall.

This is a spanish join that does it all - I like to compare it to a more upscale pizza hut/taco bell Their menu is massive, but surprisingly, the food is decent and a good value. Have tried the wings, the cemitas, and pizza for delivery. The pizza was reminiscent of my favorite dollar slices places - the pies are a bargain compared to every pizza place around too. It's not going taste like your favorite New York slice, but it will do at a bargain price. The personal pan/small pizzas are surprisingly large. I like how each pizza comes with containers of garlic, oregano, and pepper. I really liked the Mexican pizza - loaded with chorizo, peppers, and chicken. Nice and spicy The Special Pizza has pepperoni/mushrooms/peppers . It wasn't bad but BEWARE, the more veggies you get on it, the less crispy the crust gets, so this one was a bit too doughy for me. Only real downside to the pizza is the crust leaves a lot to be desired, not very fresh. Cardboardish. The cemitas were average. The bun got a bit too soft from being steamed inside the wrapper. Not nearly as good tasting El Tigre but a few bucks cheaper. The hot wings were traditionally done. On the smaller side, but meaty. Also price-wise, besides the pizza, everything seems to be way cheap $6 for a 12" pie $9.95 for a 14" pie $13.95 for an 18" pie Toppings $3 each

I was high, and this food still tasted horrible. Like I deadass downloaded and create a Yelp account, just to warn you, just how unsatisfied we were. I feel like I paid 20$ for supermarket frozen food aisle mozzarella sticks and calamari with a side of tomato juice mixed with water and a blanket of lettuce sprinkled all over. Not with it fam.

This place sucks , don't spend your time looking at their sucky menu they don't care about the people eating the food so they serve you pure bullshit tacos which don't taste like anything , and pizza that's cold and the person behind the phone tells me that the food is "fresh " I wouldn't walk in here if I was blind and didn't eat in ages.

I've never been inside this restaurant...but I work in the area and have been ordering from here late night for about 6 months straight. When I say straight I mean literally 3 to 4 times a week with out fail. At first I would order the Chicken Enchiladas, which are amazing. It's around 10.00 and feels very wholesome and healthy. But after a while I grew tired of them. Then I moved on to the Chicken Tacos. It's been 6 months and I have yet to grow tired of the chicken tacos. I've eaten chicken tacos from all over the US. I grew up in TX so it's obvious I should be an authority on what an amazing taco should taste like (Hint: Texas is right next to Mexico and is inhabited by many Mexicans as well). I should be a judge at Taco tasting contests in my spare time. Having said that Giovanni's may just have the best Chicken Tacos on Earth. I've had their pizza and some other latin dishes but they are what you would expect from a place like this. The thing that really stands out are the Chicken Tacos. **Why are these Chicken Tacos amazing compared to everything else in NYC: The chicken seems to be seasoned quite well. It's actually decent chicken as well (not the gummy type I see some taco trucks try to get away with selling late night to drunken customers). And they also add some sort of guacamole sauce along with diced up onions and cilantro. The tortilla is a corn tortilla. Each Chicken Taco is 2.50 which is pretty expensive by NYC Mexican dive restaurant taco standards but believe me when I say that it is well worth the extra .25 cents. Well Done guys and keep up the good work.

I came home from the bar last night demanding chicken nuggets (weird since I'm a vegan), and this place was ready to feed my drunk ass at midnight when nobody else would. I also got a quesadilla, which was amazing, but the chicken nuggets were clearly frozen and microwaved! Perfect for drunk me, infuriating for sober me. As the other reviewers said, go for the Mexican food.

Way back when I used to go to the middle school right across, I've only had pizza at this place once, out of those 2 years. And at the time, (when I didn't start eating like a fat ass) it was one of the best pizzas I've tasted. Very crowded though, since many students go straight from school, so be prepared to get shoved in the middle of the place or probably knocked down.

Love the food, but very unsatisfied with the customer service. I ordered online and the menu description was not what you actually get. When I called them about it, they acted like it's not their problem. I guess in this case the customer is not always right. I will never order from here again.

I was quite disappointed. I just moved into the neighbourhood and was checking out a few restaurants in the area and decided to stop by this place for dinner. The lady that took my order was very unfriendly and made me feel really unwelcome. When I asked her how much a particular meal was, she stopped to think for about 10 seconds and gave me a price.. But I had specifically remembered a Yelp reviewer saying that it was a different price, so when I told her that, she was like "oh ya. Ok." ... Sooo she was totally about to scam me cuz I was obviously new to the area. Too bad. She lost what could've been a very loyal customer.

From the outside doesn't show much as Mexican restaurant, but the food is so delicious, friendly staff, delivery also very fast.

I came here alot in the summer. The customer service is good. Though they did take quite a bit long to attend. I've tasted the pizza, tortas, quesadillas, chicken salad. The tortas are good, decent. The quesadillas were great! Though a bit cheesey for my taste. Oh! And the enchiladas de mole, how could I put it? ....deliciosas! So good! The chicken salad is great though I guess it depends on who makes it. One of the cooks/chefs puts the garlic bread (delicious bits!) And the other does not... :(. The salad has tomato, lettuce and the chicken, duh. They let you choose the dressing. But they might want to work on the drying technique for the lettuce, which by the way thanks for washing it...it's obvious. Seriously thanks. So many places that don't bother. :). Anyways ending this on a sweet note. They accept debit/credit cards. Did I mention jukebox!!, of course with mexican songs. By the way did I mention they serve orchata, though they should go easy on the rice filtration. There goes the sweet ending. .. Anyways, hope to go there soon.

My family has always ordered from Giovanni's . Food is very good! I especially like the tortas and nachos tejanos :) however! I did not give this place 5 stars because of how rude this one lady is that takes our order. She works on the weekends I think. She's rude, raises her voice, and gets our orders wrong sometimes -.- have had some bad experiences. Leaving that rude woman aside, I do recommend :)

The Flautas are the most delicious things I've ever eaten in my life! The servers and cooks are all so nice, the food is always made to order without error, and exceptionally quick.

their pizza isn't the best, but they make some very good mexican food!! I HIGHLY recommend the tostadas de pollo...or the nachos! One of the best nachos near the area in my opinion...and I have eaten nachos in many places.
