It is undoubted for me why this local shop becomes famous. A variety of bakery is sold here. Not only Black & White cooky, which is indeed pretzel topped with half creamy chocolate and white cream, is delicious as the signature item, but also other types of bakery. I tried a cheese danish with strawberry flavor. The texture is soft but dense. The quality of cheese is premium as similar as one used for New York cheese cake. Even though people are waiting in a long queue, the staffs still provide an excellent service to me since I don’t know much about other products. The price is friendly and reasonable unlike most bakery shops in NYC. Yet, I pay around 16.5$ for 5 B&W cookies and 1 strawberry cheese danish.

Wish I would have went here sooner, but I’m glad I experienced it before they close. Stop by and treat yo self ASAP. Awesome cookies!!! Black and white is great, but that Kitchen Sink!

Although I discovered this classic bakery right before it will close, it still deserves a review. Charming old school cabinets hold delicious baked goods. You can't go wrong with whatever takes your fancy.

Great (very) old fashioned bakery. Their black and white cookies are pretty famous. I also like the lemon meringue pie. Very sad they closed. They will be missed.

This is an absolutely DELICIOUS neighborhood bakery that sells great treats at prices that are hard to beat! The authenticity is hard to beat, too.

Was absolutely amazed with how good the black and white and kitchen sink cookies were. The middle of the black and white cookie was like a slice of cake with the icing being so good. The kitchen sink was a huge cookie with an amazing combination of flavors! Sadly they are closing in July after 116 years, but I will be going back a few more times before they close!

Love the staff and baked goods equally! Staff is very courteous as long as you are ready to order and not staring into your phone or not paying attention when your are up in line. This is a small bakery which has been in business for 116 years to date (they know what they are doing!), therefore, they WILL run out of items at the end of the day or around a holiday. Only better for the customer as you know you will always be getting fresh delicious baked goods. Each time I go I try to get something new- I have had their turnovers, danishes, brownies, and a large selection of their small cookies which are perfect for hostess gifts or if you want to treat yourself. They are CASH ONLY so be prepared- also check for their times before visiting as they do close for a good amount of time over the summer and during the holidays.

Please don't leave us!! Glaser's is an amazing bakery, over 100 years old and one of the best parts of the Upper East Side. Did I mention they INVENTED the Black and White cookie? (It's delicious!). They're closing their doors on July 1st. If you stay open, I promise I'll come back every week! Their pastries and baked goods simply can't be beat.
