Glazed Donuts Review - Key West - Key West - The Infatuation

"Whether you were already hunting for a donut, or this sentence just made you realize how badly you want one, go to Glazed Donuts. The shop is just a block away from Duval, and has over a dozen really tasty options. They, of course, make a very good key lime donut with a tart key lime filling and little globs of meringue on top as well as a very good classic glazed and a Cuban coffee version. The shop isn’t great for big groups, but there are plenty of tables for two. And they’re also home to the local coffee roaster Red Buoy Coffee, so it’s a good place to stop for some caffeine." - Ryan Pfeffer

10 Best Restaurants in Key West

"A doughnut shop may not be the first place that pops into your head when you think of a city’s dining hotspots, but that only goes to show that you’ve never been to Glazed. What began in 2012 as a locals-only secret has morphed into a dining must for anyone visiting Key West. The secret? Husband-and-wife owners Megan and Jonathan Pidgeon take a traditional culinary approach to their creations, which is how you end up with a Key lime pie doughnut topped with torched meringue and other fresh fruit-filled delicacies like a peach blessed dossant and pineapple upside down brulée. A full coffee bar completes the experience, even if these doughnuts aren’t made for dipping." - Jennifer M. Wood

Google
Super friendly fun place to go. Nothing like a great donut to start the day. Excellent flavors and wonderful smells highlights the adventure here. I love a perfect glazed donut not to sweet but fresh. They hit the nail on the head!!

Caleb

Google
Definitely on the pricey side for donuts but that comes with the benefit of being high quality. They're not overwhelmingly sweet. Outside almost has a light crust making for a great bite into the soft interior. Pictured is the key lime & Boston creme, filled with plenty of filling! This order cost me $10.30

Google
Great donuts!! Get there early if there’s a specific kind you want because they do sell out. We tried the glazed and Cuban coffee and loved both! Freshly baked every day! Definitely worth checking out.

Google
Glazed Donuts is a delightful spot in Key West with a creative, welcoming atmosphere and consistently high-quality selections. The space features fun robot-themed wall art, a U.S. map of donut shops, and an informative board describing their coffee roasting process and menu... small details that really add to the experience. One of my favorite features is the front window where you can watch the kitchen in action. It’s clear a lot of care goes into every batch. I always pick up a lemon poppy seed roll while also trying something new. The coffee is also good, with a self-serve area for customization. There’s seating inside, including a few children’s books along the wall, making it comfortable for a quick breakfast or a relaxed start to the day. The bathroom is clean, and the shop itself is well-maintained. I usually visit early, and by the time I leave, there’s often a line forming out the door, and indication of how good the donuts are. The staff are friendly and provide excellent service. A great stop for locals and visitors alike.

Google
Great Donut and Coffee experience. Decor is like retro donut shop. Some seating but not enough for large crowd. Donuts are a tad pricey but worth it. Made fresh every day unlike chain stores who have them shipped in. They do not offer "by the dozen" pricing just individual. I would suggest going each morning and getting a fresh donut and coffee.

Google
Yes! I really appreciate great donuts. These were exceptional. Had the jelly of the week (guava) and a buttermilk glazed. I want to try them all!! In an atmosphere where heat and humidity are constantly changing, I appreciate the craft of working with dough to bring some happiness to people each day. These guys are brilliant. 100% would go back.

Google
Why we had not found this place sooner was beyond me but our donut journey brought us to this quaint and wonderful shop. From the moment you walk in you know you’re going to experience an all out flavor fest. The service was pleasant and inviting but what your there for is those donuts and coffee. The Maple Bourbon Bacon donut was a hit with us and the Cuban was chefs kiss. Don’t hesitate to stop by this place you will not regret one bite.

Google
We stumbled upon this small donut shop the other day while out on our bikes. Their fresh and creative donuts were a hit with everyone. They are pet friendly and we were able to take our fur baby inside and have coffee and donuts in the air conditioning. Take your fur baby and enjoy!!

Yelp
Yes. Yes. Yes. I would come back to Key West just for these donuts. Donuts are my favorite sweet treat and I've had them all over the country. I would legit rank these as my favorite donuts tied with Voodoo Donuts. The chocolate frosted was the best chocolate frosted donut I've ever had. My girlfriend liked it so much that she ordered it each time we went. The key lime pie donut was phenomenal as well. You may see different donuts depending on what they have. There's rotating flavors so you may see something that only shows up once! The service was friendly and prompt. On our last day the lady at the counter put our donuts in a box so we could get them through the airport no problem. The ambiance is homey feeling. It's small and quaint and gives it charm. When we walked back to our hotel after clubbing all night, we actually saw a gentleman in the store at 2 and 3 am making the batter and filling for the donuts. So you know they're fresh. They're only open from 7 am - 12pm so get there early!

Yelp
One of the best Apple fritters I've had. The other donuts were ok. I also had coffee and it was ok too. Get the fritter.

Yelp
BEST DONUTS IVR EVER HAD IN MY LIFE!!!! I'm Not even exaggerating. You can tell they truly care about the business. Every time my bf and I walked by around 1am you would see them pre-making everything for that morning. The service is great, there's beverages available for purchase, seating, air conditioning, and a lot of amazing donut flavors. Super casual spot. Next time I will definitely be going back again!!! Top left chocolate (my fave), another chocolate, apple fritter, key lime, cherry chocolate, and sour cream buttermilk glaze cake
google avatar

Yelp
Quick, friendly service in nice space with a fun variety of donuts. We tried the lemon poppyseed cake, chocolate cake, glazed hazelnut, and sour cream cake donut. Normally I love a cake donut but out of all of the ones we tried, I liked the yeast style hazelnut the best. The cake donuts had good flavors but the cake was very dry. I liked the crunch on the exterior that held up even under the glaze though. I will probably go back tmrw and try some additional flavors but I'll get more glazed/yeast style vs cake. Stay tuned......

Yelp
Glazed Donuts is a locals favorite. We got some takeout donuts on our second day of our trip to Key West and really enjoyed them. The coffee was also great. I got a double espresso and really enjoyed it. Strong but not harsh on my stomach. The staff was friendly and attentive and the ambiance was very trendy and quaint. Highly recommend it.

Yelp
FRESH AND DOUGHY I told my boyfriend I was only going to take a bite of each and save them for our car ride home. We ended up scarfing them all down immediately. They were too good and fresh to save for later. One of the workers even mentioned there are no preservatives in their donuts, so it's best to eat them now. Its hard to find a true cinnamon sugar donut. A lot of the times it's the powdered cinnamon. Their cinnamon sugar was exactly what I was on the hunt to find. I did leave a little disappointed. I was most excited to try their lemon poppyseed donut and of course that was the one they were out of that morning ):

Yelp
AMAZING DONUTS! Omgeeeeee! Some of the best donuts I've ever had! We will definitely be back. Delightful staff as well
google avatar

Lexy S.

Yelp
Great coffee and donuts. We had two cafe cubano and shared 4 donuts. Key lime, passion fruit cheesecake, coconut creme, hazelnut brown sugar. The coconut creme was our favorite! They're small to medium sized donuts. It gets busy so go early to avoid the line! The place itself has indoor seating but many people sit along the sidewalk outdoors.

Yelp
Cinnamon Sugar Maple Bacon Donut Iced Vanilla Latte - 10/10 *chef's kiss* We arrived at 10:30am with still many donut options on the board. Staff was friendly. Cute Dine In seating. If you're looking for a great donut shop, this is it!

Kristin P.

Yelp
Delicious coffee and amazing donuts!! I came back two days in a row. I had a blueberry cheesecake donut and it was so good. Not overly sweet but so tasty!! Had an iced latte with their truvia sweetener. Yum!
google avatar

Tex M.

Yelp
Roast coffee in house and fresh made donuts! OMG doesn't get any better. My only disappointment was the coffee cakes were all gone. Get here early. I did but still missed out. Everything is still good.

Yelp
I abstained from having Key Lime Pie anywhere during my visit but upon coming to Glazed Donuts, I knew it was the one I had to try and I think I'm good to only ever have KLP in donut form. While I didn't get to try their wide variety of offerings, the KLP donut was a hit. The portion is just right and is extremely fluffy and flavorful. The balance between the citrus filling, crumbles, and toasted marshmallow is soo good. The space is also pretty classic with that old timey feel where you'd expect an older gentleman with his coffee reading the paper to be somewhere in sight. As for the service, it's so friendly and patient. This was a great find and I'd without a doubt return to try other flavors.

Wendy M.

Yelp
The new owners of Glazed Donuts have raised the quality of the donuts they sell. Our favorites are the Chocolate Cake and the Apple almond fritter! Lighter and not as oily. The fritter has the perfect combination of cinnamon and almonds with an abundance of apples, not as oily as before with a much lighter spreading of sugar glaze on top so it's not like biting into a sugar shell before getting to the actual fritter. Outstanding! The service was great, the kitchen and seating area is very clean and organized. We love this place! We live in key West full time and this is our favorite place to get our weekend morning pastry! Enjoy this wonderful donut shop. I know you will!
google avatar

Lindsay M.

Yelp
I do not have a picture of the doughnut because I could not wait!!! It was wonderful. We got a blueberry cheesecake doughnut to split and we should have each got two...so worth the calories! The only downfall is that there was an odd bad smell by the tables. We were going to sit and eat, getting out of the heat and Sun, but we had to go outside because the smell was so strong.
google avatar

Juan B.

Yelp
Delicious, soft donuts with the perfectly paired toppings. The mango brulee was my favorite (the crunch from the brulee is to die for). They're closed on Mondays and Tuesdays so make sure to time your visit!
google avatar

Maria L.

Yelp
Incredible donut and thus far best on the island! Im a simple gal and glazed does just the trick for me! Additional greats were the chocolate glazed and chocolate lovers! They also had a perfect selection to choose from to suit everyone's needs.. I don't recommend the green jasmine tea it almost had a perfume taste but the donuts masked my disappointment needles to say! It was a perfect spot to enjoy right after watching the sunrise!
google avatar

Keegan R.

Yelp
Outstanding donuts and even better service. My eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach, thankfully I only ordered the bourbon maple bacon donuts which filled me up.
google avatar

Yelp
OMG OMG OMG OMG.... We stay at the saint every year. We have never seen this place and I'm so upset that I hadn't seen it until just now. We waited in line for about 40 minutes and it's totally worth the wait. We bought five donuts in each had bites out of all of them because we didn't know which ones to buy definitely get this place a try. It is so worth the wait.
google avatar

J E.

Yelp
While staying at The Saint we stopped in here for donuts and coffee one morning... they have an espresso machine (and make a great Americano) and offer donuts done so well, they've been featured on TV and in print. They offer the basic stuff like glazed, but also have unique donuts, like a Cuban Coffee donut which was excellent!
google avatar

Stephanie L.

Yelp
They could not have hit the nail on the head any harder with both the coffee and the donuts. 11/10. I could not be more impressed with this place. (Cuban coffee queen is really good...but I have to say I think my cold brew here was better).
google avatar

Crystal S.

Yelp
Took my morning walk to Glazed since they are open today. Right off Duval, cute shop, and I like the example doughnuts upfront so you know what you are getting. Got 2 to go and walked back to the house to consume them on the front porch in front of a fan. Chocolate glazed, doughnut reminded me almost of brioche and the glaze was a very nice, not too sweet chocolate. Key Lime, I want to walk and get 12 more, the filling is so tart and sharp it pairs perfectly with the doughnut and topping. Will be back!
google avatar

Bryan M.

Yelp
Excellent staff, very friendly. Great coffee and the best apple/almond fritter I've ever eaten. Lemon/poppyseed donut was good. Wife's cuban coffee cake was very good, too. OJ was freshly squeezed. A little pricey, but well worth it. We went twice in three days, so there you have it.
google avatar

Robert C.

Yelp
Outstanding donuts and coffee! Love the quality, soft texture of the donut. Great flavor combos - Kind people, too!
google avatar

Kim S.

Yelp
Since we were the second people in line, we definitely had our choice of doughnuts. We got half a dozen--Cuban coffee, cherry filled, key lime, maple bacon, cherry marquee and a tangerine brûlée. They were very fresh. I would recommend the glazed ones over the cake ones. Both kinds were great; I just gravitate towards the soft glazed kind. My favorite was the tangerine brûlée. Nice owner who made a mean cafe con leche.
google avatar

Caroline S.

Yelp
This is THE spot!!! Kind of a hidden gem right off Duvall street, and absolutely worth a stop in. The staff is so friendly and helpful, it was our first time and they gave us a sample to see what we are working with before we ordered. The donuts are delicious- we ordered a Maple Bacon, Blackberry Jelly, and a dozen donut holes... for $12! Great vibe, yummy food and coffee!
google avatar

Geni R.

Yelp
Amazing staff, cold brew and donuts. I highly recommend coming when they open for fresh hot donuts. The coffee is roasted in house too!
google avatar

Jennifer V.

Yelp
Uhhhhh yup... do it to yourself. The donuts are original and AMAZING. I'm not too much of a donut fan but these were truly unique and had great flavor. Yup yup yup... do it! We liked it so much our donuts didn't even make it intact for a picture. Lol
google avatar

Nadia F.

Yelp
These were the BEST tasting donuts I have ever tasted! They were airy, warm and melted in your mouth. We got a traditional glazed and the hazelnut brown butter donuts. We were even offered samples prior to ordering as well as more samples of their lemon poppy cake donut after we ordered. The kindness and customer service were amazing. We loved them so much we bought a dozen to take home on our drive back.

Lily C.

Yelp
Simply fabulous. Their donuts are so fluffy and taste delicious. There are so many options to choose from.
google avatar

Julie D.

Yelp
As we walked up to this donut shop, we saw a fresh batch of donuts (that looked like they were recently made) on display in the window. They looked delicious! This uniquely decorated donut shop offers flavors that aren't in most donut shops like brown butter hazelnut, key lime pie, mango brûlée, etc.Not to worry though, you can still get simple flavors like chocolate, glazed, cinnamon sugar and much more! I had the brown butter hazelnut, which looked like a vanilla frosted crumb donut, but was so much better than that. I would return again to try more of their unique flavors.
google avatar

Sky Valentine K.

Yelp
Been coming here for quite a few years; best donuts in the FL keys! They are still wearing masks and it's take out only, even though most KW establishments are sans mask right now. (Not saying that in a judgy way, but FYI if you plan to sit and eat.) If you want a nice place to sit to enjoy your coffee & donuts until they open back up St Paul's has a few shady benches that are usually open to the courteous public. Glazed Donuts is one of my must-visit KW spots and my favorite donut is their lemon poppyseed (cake)!
google avatar

Lori W.

Yelp
Our first food stop on our dsy trip to KEy West over Memorial Day weekend. Just in time! They were about to close: we snagged 2 donuts & savored every bite. Easy to see why this is a favorite for so many. What an incredible place and adorable shop. We put our "push-pin" on their huge map. Representing Alexandria VA!
google avatar

Lisa T.

Yelp
Raised donuts 5 stars! Amazingly light and airy. Cake donuts were dry and dense (2 stars) though glazes were tasty . For Maple bacon donut lovers ( that's my favorite flavor) - Dispersions maple had a bit more cinnamon overtone than true maple, and the bacon was candied so not enough saltiness for my taste. Apple-almond fritter was amazing with thin slices of apple embedded in the perfectly crisped dough.
google avatar

Jordan R.

Yelp
*For context for visitors, all my Key West reviews are relative to Key West restaurants, not to places outside of Key West * A very popular donut spot with a variety of flavors. This style of donut is really fried, so it's a bit heavier than some other donuts we had. It's still light and airy on the inside, but the fried-ness was a little heavy on a hot day.
google avatar

Cindy R.

Yelp
We tend to have donuts wherever we travel and was very happy to try Glazed Donuts! Had the brown buttrr hazulnut and strawberry cheesecake. The dough itself was wonderful! The doughs and soft and pillowy, plus perfect size. The brown butter hazulnut tasted more like cinnamom coffee cake. Still tasty but none of the expected flavors. While the strawberry cheesecake tasted great- I wish the cream cheese and strawberry component was larger in volume. Overall would recommend! One of the better donuts have had in Florida so far.
google avatar

Stacia G.

Yelp
My boyfriend, a police officer, spotted this place while we were wondering around the night before. Yes, he likes donuts and so we had a second breakfast. Small shop with limited seating (not everyone sticks around). It's well worth the wait in line. Great coffee made to order and a wide array of creative donuts to choose from. It's a must stop!

Kathryn M.

Yelp
Great hidden spot. We went twice to grab donuts for morning coffee at the Airbnb and loved all the ones we tried. Fresh and baked each morning!
google avatar

Yo T.

Yelp
Amazing service, the guy at the counter really knows his stuff and has fantastic recommendation. There's plenty of room to sit and has a lot of natura light coming in. The donuts were amazing by far the best donuts I've ever had. They aren't pictured because I scarfed them down after taking the first bite of the cinnamon donut. The only tragedy is moments before I came two donuts were sold out, but fear not I'll be back to try the Apple fritter.
google avatar

Deb B.

Yelp
This place came with rave reviews from a friend who had visited Key West a few years ago. Fun flavors and tasty treats!!!!
google avatar

Stephanie G.

Yelp
Not sure what I can add to what has been said. So, here are the six donuts I have tried in order from "one of the best donuts I have ever eaten" down to "it's okay". (I haven't had anything I don't like.) 1. Peach Fritter (One of the best donuts I have ever eaten in my entire donut-eating life) 2. Key Lime 3. Raspberry Chocolate Linzer 4. Maple Bacon 5. Blueberry Glazed Sprinkle 6. Lemon Poppy Seed Stand in line. It's worth the wait.
google avatar

Wagmore S.

Yelp
Highly recommend! Best fresh donuts by far and coffee! The Cuban coffee cake was over the top ! Awesome find!

C W.

Yelp
Waste of money, donuts were dry and old, $21.00 for 5 donuts and we couldn't even eat them.

Vicki S.

Yelp
Awesome and unique donuts. Amazing coffee. I had the cafe con leche and a mango crème brûlée donut. Very friendly staff. Small but nice with a great playlist playing overhead. Highly recommend this place.
google avatar

Brian D.

Yelp
This is the best food I've ever eaten. Every time I go to key west I end up here multiple times. You really can't believe how good the donuts are until you eat here and find out how good donuts can be. Shockingly good. Take two for later. They don't go bad. This is one of the five best restaurants I've been to in my life.

Gina C.

Yelp
We have been coming here for many years and have enjoyed their donuts. It was a tradition for us to to get these artisanal donuts. When we returned for our annual vacation we knew with one bite that ownership had changed. The donuts did not taste the same and we were very disappointed.
google avatar

Lauren M.

Yelp
Super sweet people running a great little donut shop. Loved how they displayed their donuts so you know what they have. Great coffee which I realized is hard to come by in key west.... here are some pics of the donuts. My hubs response to his first bite of the maple bacon donut ... "best donut I have ever had" The key lime donut was yummmy!! Tart but sweet and perfect with the pairing of the donut. And my little one couldn't get enough of those donut holes. As you can see, we tried them all and I can honestly say...we have no regrets Don't even think about going anywhere else cause you won't find a better donut.
google avatar

Ashley K.

Yelp
Key West lacks a donut scene. This is your only option for donuts. They obviously make them in house which is awesome but sometimes they can be a little overdone and have a bad oil taste. It's not a typical donut shop with sprinkles and frosting filled donuts. They are more upscale. They are very expensive. A plain glazed donut is $2.50. I was charged $18 for six donuts including tax. Only one donut was "special" because it had jam on top but the rest were plain. Donut holes are $3.50 a dozen. I have tried most of the donuts but I stick with the plain glazed because it seems to be the best when it comes to texture, taste, and softness. I will admit they do have some donuts that are seasonal that are great in flavor like their gingerbread and eggnog one at Christmas and they had a pumpkin one in the fall that was tasty. It's not my favorite donut shop on Earth but it does qualify as a favorite on the island.
google avatar

John H.

Yelp
This place is amazing. Had an Americano coffee and Apple Almond Fritter. The Fritter was fresh, with bite sized tender and tasty apple.
google avatar

Frank N.

Yelp
I consider myself a plain person. I like complex foods and straight up good food. Donuts are a favorite of mine....I have eaten ALOT of donuts...hands down, this was the best donut I have ever had. Worth the wait!
google avatar

Nora G.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic . Reasonably priced for Gourmet donuts . Social distancing only one party in the store at a time . Go early because I went at 10:30 and waited almost 30 minutes . 100% worth the wait ! Literally the best donuts I have ever had. So fresh and light crispy dough with amazing topping and filling . Would wait an hour for these . Hidden gem for sure !
