"Picking out live critters from the tank is part of the fun – Hokkaido scallops, Thai marble goby, and even Hanasaki crab if you’re lucky. As well as the signature braised chicken stuffed with abalone and sea cucumber, do try dishes made with chicken offal, such as stock-poached leafy greens with chicken liver. Double-boiled chicken soup with conpoy and Yunnan ham is available in limited quantities, so consider pre-ordering certain items." - Michelin Inspector

Glorious Cuisine: Dai Pai Dong Upgraded

"Glorious Cuisine, an establishment by Chan Kuen and her family more than four decades earlier, was originally a dai pai dong, an open-air food stall on Shek Kip Mei Street. Transformed eighteen years ago by son-in-law Hong Po-Ming, it now serves as a bistro offering premium dishes such as prawn-stuffed yau char kwai and chicken in first draw soy sauce from Tai Ma. It has been recognized as a Bib Gourmand Restaurant." - Michelin Guide Digital-Hong Kong Macau

Google
a bit skeptical about other reviews but here’s my two cents. We were looking for some authentic chinese food and we tried a bunch in the city. This was very fancy at first sight, and we noticed higher prices but then realized how good and plenty the plates were. Tried the half roasted chicken and the braised pork. Both very good but I highly suggest to try the pork first, along a good plate of fried rice. Tried also the local beer that was refreshing and not too heavy to digest. For a rotation of chinese restaurant this definitely has a great vibe and good food for a tad more price than usual.

The food is good and the price point is about right. The service has a good vibe, it’s busy, everyone is enjoying themselves and no o e is rushed off their table. The feeling is, you spend a few hours here with some good food, company and beers. If you’re after really excellent food then it’s not really that sort of place but nothing disappoints here and you can be confident to try most things and have them cooked to an 7.5/8 out of 10 standard. I’d recommend coming once but after that, hunt for other places.

The name of the restaurant says it all — truly Glorious Cuisine. Good alternative to the Dai pai dong restaurants across the street because they have good tables and chairs and take reservations! Loved the lobster over noodles, razor clams, and the roast chicken! Beware: the wasabi calamari was way too intense.

Visited this restaurant again with former colleagues. Fortunately I made a booking in advance for the first round of dining session ie 6pm., the place was quite full. There were a few tourist groups coming from the Mainland and they seemed to enjoy the dishes. We ordered some evil dishes to raise our cholesterol level, and they were so delicious. The ambience of the dining area was not too bad for a local restaurant but the toilet at the wet side alley was a bit not easy to handle for everybody. The wait staff were very friendly and humorous.

The goose wasn’t up to expectation. The fried pig intestines were really good w the pineapple. Surprisingly, the vegetable dishes eg. 梅菜炒菜心were simply amazing.

Very good indeed, had a fantastic meal with my dearest friends, the service and staff where great, I love these, what I'd call traditional Hong Kong restaurants, such better quality than the big upmarket places My only slight issue was that the ac was at full blast. Blowing straight on my shoulders and made it slightly uncomfortable Other than that, it's definitely worth a visit, and recommend the goose!!

I rank it the lowest among The 3 TaiPaiDang style restaurants in the neighborhood. Price higher, taste very normal, smaller portion. The steamed prawn with garlic $100/pc, but disappointing. My 5 dishes dinner:$8**
